Great food. It took a while before we were served, but the food arrived quickly after that. It is a bit pricey for a wok dish. I would recommend it though.

Hong Thai is a “hidden gem.” This is a restaurant that is said to be hugely popular in popular dining areas in Rotterdam, The Hague, or Amsterdam. Fortunately, you don't have to look far for authentic Thai cuisine. And fortunately, this restaurant hasn't been hyped up by social media influencers. I think that is partly due to the location and atmosphere, because it is most convenient to come here by car, and inside, it lacks a social media wow factor. But while you usually find really good food in austere eateries, Hong Thai is an exception and is increasingly working on its decor. You can simply enjoy a nice evening out dining there and linger at the table a bit longer than if you just come for the food and leave immediately. The service is very friendly and helpful. I recommend making a reservation by phone, as they are increasingly booked up, especially on weekends. I have been coming here for 5 years now and am happy for them that they have more and more returning customers within a 30-60 minute drive. “Plaa foe shie,” fried fish with a red curry sauce, and chicken cashew are my favorites. If you like it really spicy, you can let her know; the Thai chef makes the dish truly authentic. — FYI, I checked with the owners, and apparently Google hasn’t removed the old reviews that belong to the previous owners. While the address is the only thing that remains the same, the new owners established Hong Thai in late 2020.

Currently, there is one dish on the menu that can be made vegan. Upon inquiry, it turned out that the restaurant also has vegan curry pastes available, so a number of dishes can be made vegan as well. However, this is not yet on the menu, but there are more options if you are vegan: so ask about it!

The food is always great, but unfortunately it has become very expensive at the moment; I fear this will not benefit visitor numbers.

The service for our large group of 14 people was not very proactive; we had to walk to the kitchen multiple times to ask if we could order (drinks, extra drinks, dessert); walking by and checking more often would help.

The food was delicious! We sat on the raised platform, a cozy spot. The wood paneling gives the decor a somewhat European feel. The oriental decor and art are beautiful, though! A tip is to have one host/hostess at each table; that creates a better connection with the customers.

The food was great again, and the staff was friendly. Although the wait for drinks was a bit long, the food, however, was ready quickly and was delicious. It's a shame the entrance isn't a bit better maintained; that could really use some improvement.

The food is very tasty. However, the portions and prices are too small and too high. For example, for 18 euros you get a small salad with some beef... a very small portion.

I had an "okay" Thai meal here. The food was delicious and the portions were generous, but the prices were a bit high. Rice is a cheap product, just like chicken, but my Kao Pad Kai (rice with chicken) cost almost 23 euros! One dish with not the most expensive ingredients deterred us from just going for the main course and skipping the (also expensive) appetizers. I also have to add that the benches are far too hard and don't provide comfortable support (as if you're sitting against a wooden board). My final review is that the food is good, but the cost of the meals is beyond healthy eating. 23 euros for a plate of rice, broccoli, and chicken is a huge exaggeration, sorry.

My Thai mom and I love to eat here. A few years ago, we discovered this place, and I took my mom there for the first time. We've both been huge fans ever since. We love bringing friends, colleagues, and family here. Yesterday, I was here with a friend to celebrate my birthday, and I even got an ice cream cake with cute candles. So sweet! I really felt like it was my birthday 😊 For me, numbers 18, 29, and 89 are the standouts, but honestly, every bite here is a delight. Thanks again, and see you soon!

The soup was amazing. The rice was a bit spicy and had to switch with my partner, but except for that everything was delicious.

Ordered food on the spot - 20-minute wait - very friendly service - the Tom Kha Kai and the spring rolls were as they should be - the other two dishes, one with duck (bone dry/hard-fried) and one with shrimp (sauce curdled - loose oil and lumps of curry) were below par - especially for the total of 85 euros. That could really have been better.

We went to this Thai restaurant for dinner! Since I've been going to Thailand for many years, I was excited to try the food. We ordered Pad Krapao and Massaman Curry. The Pad Krapao was okay, but not as flavorful as in Thailand. I missed the fried egg, and it included beans, which I've never had in Pad Krapao in Thailand. The Massaman curry was delicious, although it was a touch too sweet and had a strong coconut flavor, which was still delicious. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to trying the original in Thailand again.

We ordered takeout today, and had the same experience before. The food is delicious! It just took a really long time to arrive (almost an hour and a half after placing the order). When we called after over an hour (it said within 60 minutes), we were told another 5-8 minutes. It arrived 25 minutes later. Tip: Be realistic about the times you quote, even if it's busy.

First time eating Thai food and it tasted surprisingly good. Since we had never eaten here before, we were well advised by the staff. And the service was great. You can eat well here and there is an extensive menu, so we will definitely come back.

Our favorite food in Zeist. We always have it delivered, deliciously fresh and large portions. Some dishes are even better than in Thailand itself. The sateh is really ridiculously delicious. We would prefer to order food here every week.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the chicken I ordered with the massaman curry, but with tofu. In addition, but taste is personal, the massaman curry was less tasty than the one I ordered from Hong Thai over a year ago, it was less sweet, less sour, precisely that mixture of flavors that make this curry so tasty was completely missing. (possibly something like no cinnamon, sugar, lime, cardamom and no star anise used this time?)

Ordering from here is a nightmare each time I do it. The orders are always late. I understand there can be busy night but when it’s every time 30+ minutes late it’s a problem with your restaurant. The food is always delicious but the wait it horrendous.

Very large portion. Both one and a half plates and still some left for daughter who came a little later. Duck in tasty sauce and very hot fried fish. Tasted perfect with white and fried rice and prawn crackers. My wife said….do it more often.

Very tasty meal! Portions are very large, so a starter and main course was a bit much. Nice place for a quick tasty bite. The Kiew Krob is definitely recommended, as are the Kai Phad Med Mamuang and the Phad Thai.
