Tom Yam in Wijk 01 Centrum Zeist

Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The prawns with vegetables and curry lacked flavor, and the curry was very watery. I have been to Thailand myself and know how a good curry is supposed to taste. Additionally, I ordered well over an hour in advance for 7:45 PM, but had to wait another 15 minutes upon arrival. A shame and disappointing. I had expected more from this.

The food was decent, but nothing particularly special. The biggest disappointment, however, was the situation with the water. We asked for tap water, clearly explaining that we did not want any lemon or mint, just plain tap water. The waiter kept telling us that the menu offered water with lemon and mint, but we repeatedly explained that we did not want that — we only wanted tap water. In the end, we were brought plain water, exactly what we had asked for. However, when we paid, we were charged €4.90 for it, which is the price shown in the photo for the water with lemon and mint. We never ordered that water. As you can see in the photo, a glass of water is also listed at €1.50, although it is not clear whether this is tap water, mineral water, or spring water. Charging €1.50 per glass of water is already quite crazy, in our opinion. But being charged €4.90 for plain tap water that we specifically requested is even more disappointing. In the Netherlands, tap water is generally free. If a restaurant does not provide it, they should simply say so clearly instead of serving plain water and charging the customer as if they had ordered a different, more expensive drink. Food: 3/5. Service: definitely a minus.

We had a delicious meal! The chicken Pad Thai was truly delicious, well-seasoned and with nice, tender chicken. The service was also friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome immediately. Nice atmosphere and good service. Definitely recommended if you are in the mood for tasty Thai food. We will certainly be back!

Very tasty! The Massaman curry with prawns was truly delicious – full of flavor, perfectly seasoned, and with lovely, tender prawns. The sauce was incredibly tasty and all the ingredients complemented each other perfectly. The presentation of the fried rice, neatly shaped like a heart 🫶, completed the experience. Such an eye for detail creates a special atmosphere and shows that real attention is paid to the guests. I will definitely be back!

Service for a soup, starter and main for two people took nearly 90 minutes. We were told the wait would be 5-10 minutes, was half an hour before our order was taken. Sent away due to allergies. I indicated I have four allergies, including soy. Two days ago, I had a delicious meal. Today, the owner added tofu (soy) to the dish, refused to make a new dish without allergens, and asked me not to come back. Never happened before.

We felt welcomed by the friendly owner. The menu offers plenty of choice, especially since most dishes can be ordered with chicken, shrimp, or vegetarian. The base can also be varied, with rice, noodles, and so on. Our dishes tasted excellent. We'd love to come back.

You can get your food very spicy if you like that, but you can also ask them to make it less or moderately spice. The Tom Yam soup was great, as well as the Phad Thai. Delicious, fresh food with no preservatives or additives. The Thai Milk Tea is very unique, and one of the best cold drinks I've tasted. Our fav Thai in Utrecht & surroundings. Everything so far tasted absolutely delicious.

It took a long time and communication was a bit awkward at first, but we eventually enjoyed authentic, good, and tasty Thai food. The atmosphere is like a sort of upscale snack bar, so don't expect a cozy restaurant, but for the prices and the location (including takeout), it's perfectly fine. In the end, the five of us ate for about €35 per person, including drinks and a few starters and desserts. We were staying at Hotel Woudschoten for our training and arranged our food and drinks there. This was a nice and affordable change of pace.

Last week I had dinner here with friends: it was delicious! Really good quality Thai food at a reasonable price. The ambiance has also been well-maintained. (The only thing I think would be nice is if there were a small screen above the kitchen so the white light from the kitchen wouldn't clash with the otherwise warm atmosphere of the restaurant.) I'm so glad I discovered this restaurant in Zeist; I'll definitely be back!

I recently ordered from here and was disappointed that the container was only half full. I politely emailed the owner about it, but I found his response very strange. Instead of understanding or a solution, he suggested I was making it up. I find this really bad, because I would never file a complaint about something that's not right. An owner should be open to honest feedback, but that's clearly not the case here. If there's ever something wrong with your order, I can tell you right now that you shouldn't expect a solution, a thank you, or even any understanding. You'll just be told you're making it up. Based on this, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

We waited 1.5 hours in an almost empty restaurant and the food was tastelessly spicy. There is nothing authentic about the tom yum soup, it is not how they make it in Thailand.

We were looking for a nice place to eat with our daughters. We arrived around 7:30. We received a warm welcome and were treated to a delicious meal. The food was carefully prepared and delicious!

This is the best Thai food I’ve had in a VERY long time. Very delicious, well plated and affordable. Above all the vibes of the restaurant are so cozy. I came during a slow lunchtime shift and received such friendly and quick service that I left feeling warm inside.

When ordering, we were greeted by a gentleman who "knew everything better" and wasn't receptive to customer requests. It was an unpleasant experience, and extra vegetables weren't allowed because they weren't "part of the dish." We immediately canceled the order and won't be back.

We came here “by accident” as we did not plan to come to this city and found the restaurant in the last minute but it surprised me how good the food AND drinks were. If you want real Thai foods and drinks as you could find in Thailand, here is the place to come. They deserve better popularity. The service were a bit slow though as there were only one lady and one gentleman who did all the work from cooking, service and so… But once again, the food and drinks worth the wait 😄

Chicken satay: more salt than herbs and the sauce is just ready-made from probably Wyko. Nothing original or authentic Thai. Still give 1 star because luckily chicken thigh was used. And that for 10 euros for 2 skewers. First and last time.

Just on a lovely summer day I saw a small sign and thought. I'm hungry, now I was already planning to eat something somewhere, I didn't know this Thai restaurant yet, I'm always up for a new experience... It looked delicious on the sign. So, why not. I asked if they were open yet, to which I enthusiastically replied yes. I was immediately given many options, so I said I would like to be surprised. Really delicious food, fresh vegetables such as peppers and potatoes. Nice restaurant You can eat outside, where you can sit quietly. Inside it is nicely and cozily decorated. Open kitchen, which was beautifully clean. Nice and tasty to enjoy Thai cuisine. Fanta has changed its taste. That will be something different next time.

I have supported this restaurant for years since it opened. In the beginning very tasty, authentic food. However, I recently had spoiled food that made me vomit and had a night full of cramps. It already tasted weird. I have been back to report this neatly and calmly. It was 100% of the food because I hadn't eaten anything else that day. After having been a loyal customer for years, I have had NO service AT ALL, no money back or no other offer, no danger, no excuses. On the contrary, I was sent away and gaslighted that it couldn't have been that. And that I had to google what food poisoning meant. Embarrassing. And that for high prices.

Terrible experience! I ordered Pad Thai and Green Curry, and both were extremely disappointing—the worst I’ve ever had. But the real issue was the delivery service. They require a minimum order of €40 for delivery, plus an additional €4 fee, which I was fine with. However, the delivery person refused to bring the food to my flat or even the building entrance. Instead, he was waiting in an alley and wouldn’t come any closer. Absolutely unacceptable!

Had a pleasant meal in this compact restaurant, which is located just behind a row of shops. Just go through the hallway from the shopping street and it will be on your left. The owners are Thai and Hageneese who work hard to serve authentic Thai dishes or have them delivered. A place for me to come back to.

In the heart of the quiet and relaxed town of Zeist: the food is very good here, everything is prepared freshly with quality ingredients, and the portions are generous. Don't be in too much of a hurry and also be prepared to pay for a glass of water - maybe that's normal in the Netherlands?

After more than a year in the vicinity of Zeist and to avoid the traffic jam to the south, we had another delicious meal in this great restaurant. What delicious dishes they have here. In everything you notice that it is prepared with a lot of love and passion. Delicious spicy soup and fresh satay. And the main course was so tasty that you actually wanted to continue eating and order another portion. But because the portions are not small anyway, I decided not to do that and opted for a new desert Affogato. Not really Thai, but delicious because Tom (the owner and chef) and his wife have given it their own twist. I can recommend anyone in Zeist who is looking for authentic Thai cuisine where you can indicate your personal wishes, to visit Tom Yam. You definitely won't regret it.

Very good and authentic food as well as nice staff! We were on the way home from our Netherlands trip and just stopped there for lunch. The restaurant was unexpectedly empty but that didn't scare us. At the end it was the best decision, food was very authentic and vegetables were very fresh. the menu card was also not too overloaded which made it easier for us to choose something. definitely worth the money. I can definitely recommend the green curry for those who like it a bit more spicy :)
