What an amazing experience at Hoogies on Langevelderslag! The fries are without a doubt the best I have ever eaten: perfectly crispy on the outside and deliciously soft on the inside. The kibbeling is also truly top-quality, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly fried. (The homemade Ravigotte sauce is also not to be missed here.) Additionally, the service is fantastic, even though it is "self-service." The staff is incredibly friendly and hospitable, making sure you feel welcome immediately. Everything is made with a smile, and my coffee was even brought to my table! Paper cups, but hey, it is a chip shop! For me, this is the #1 spot for the best fries and kibbeling. Highly recommended if you are in the area. I will definitely be coming back here often!

It is unacceptable to get served in plastic and paper cups while sitting in the cafe and not requesting takeaway.

The best kibbeling we've ever had. Huge portions of both fries and fish. The whole thing in the picture cost €18. The remoulade was a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. Fair prices for a beachside location.

Unfortunately, the fries were far too greasy and hard, and the taste wasn't great at all! The store manager or person in charge was unfriendly! He was the oldest of the bunch of kids working that day.

The chicken burger was excellent, and the fish is definitely worth recommending. Both were served with delicious fries and a tasty mayo sauce. Unfortunately, the cheeseburger was disappointing. Instead of a proper beef patty, it had a thin, processed meat patty that reminded me of a McDonald's burger. It lacked flavor and wasn't enjoyable. Other than the cheeseburger, though, I would definitely recommend this place.

Delicious fries and, in my opinion, the best Frikandel Special in the area! I also got to try Kibbeling for the first time here: absolutely delicious! Everything is freshly prepared and the kitchen staff is incredibly friendly! Highly recommended. We'll be back.

Yesterday, we had a lovely meal with a group of elderly people. Parasols were pulled up and tables could be rearranged. What fantastic service!

It used to be my favorite place to have kibbeling, but this year they downgraded the quality. They’re now selling batter with fish, rather than battered fish. its a pity. Also, the fries got very oily and the fish got chewy. It’s a sudden change from last year, and I wonder why.. they hope nobody notices?

After a few years, I tried fish and chips again. The fish was a huge portion, though a bit lacking in flavor. However, more than half of the fries were hard and overcooked. The remaining fries were only mediocre in taste. I didn't bother complaining; I was ridiculed a few years ago by, I believe, a different owner. In terms of portion size, it was more than enough, but there is still room for improvement regarding the taste.

Had a fantastic experience at Hoogies! The location near the beach creates a really relaxed atmosphere, perfect for lunch or dinner after a walk by the sea. The food was fresh, tasty, and well-prepared — especially the burgers and fries. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive even when it was busy. Service was quick, and the overall vibe was cozy and enjoyable. Definitely a great spot to relax with friends or family. I would happily come back again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Super delicious fries. Wonderfully crispy and not greasy. Perfectly prepared from whole potatoes. Fantastic! Unfortunately, the toilets next door are quite dirty and cost €1.

Very friendly and beautifully presented dishes, not to mention the setting. We preferred to walk there to enjoy the dunes. We'll definitely be back.

This is a good restaurant. We had the Kibling and fries, which were really good and reasonably priced for the portion size. I recommend it!

Unfortunately, it took a bit longer than expected, despite having plenty of staff. However, the one-star deduction is mainly due to the price. For the quantity (see picture), the price (€17.50) is a bit high, especially since it's very deep-fried and there's sometimes very little fish in the breading. All in all, though, it tasted good, especially the fries!

Their kibbeling was always very good, but today it was all flour and no fish. And you pay 11 euros for that. Very disappointing. Last time here.

It feels a bit like a daycare center here, judging by the staff. I ordered fries and waited half an hour for them. I inquired again, and it turned out there was no known order. The supposed manager (the only one over 18) was sitting outside with friends. And it wasn't busy at all...

We love Hoogies. Pure vacation. Located on the beach, young people, super delicious, the fries made from fresh potatoes are amazing, the ultimate vacation feeling.

A stopover on our bike tour. Delicious fries, but unfortunately, the frikandel (fried dumplings) aren't really my thing. However, the kibbeling (sausage rolls) were supposedly very good. Prices are reasonable. Friendly staff. We'd gladly go back.

Ordered fries and drinks and picked them up for the beach. The fries were fresh and well-fried. The young man at the counter was polite, and the wait was about 10 minutes.

Previously cheaper, the kibbeling tasted great! And the fries were satisfying. Today, there's less seasoning on the lekkerbek and very few fries, and now you're paying 16 euros! You should expect something, but I think this is 4 or 3 euros more expensive compared to last year, plus the quality is lower. Too bad!

Whenever we go to the beach (it's an hour and a half drive), we always go here. Because then we can go to Hoogies! They have delicious fries and cod. It's a good thing we don't live closer... ;-)

Today I was there and no more, we ate a portion of fries there. It was inedible, They were fried in the old dirty oil or something else was different. We first got a sour taste, then stomach cramps, headache and vomiting. When a report to an employee that fries were not tasty I hear "it is not wrong me"ing to report that the fries

We ordered three cocktails — one never arrived. Two of us went to the bathroom, and the waiter immediately asked if we were leaving. Not even a minute later, again: “When are you leaving?” Instead of the missing drink or the bill. Then he just kicked me off the table with my friends’ stuff. No service, just rushed. Disgraceful behavior. Never again.

Handmade fresh fries, three friendly brothers who run the place and even look out for their customers! Yes, the price is a bit higher, but you can taste the quality! I'll be happy to come back here. Thanks! It was really good and delicious. Greetings

The fries were great, the rest was okay, the price was completely unreasonable (way too expensive). I think it's a bit cheeky to charge €15 for two special fries.

The best fries I've ever eaten. Made with whole potatoes, simply delicious. Add a special Frikandel and the meal is perfect. Very fair prices. You can get a great coffee and soft-serve ice cream next door.

Kibbeling and frites freshly fried. Highly recommended. I have no idea about the rest of the menu. Usually quite busy. It's mostly self-service but people are generally nice.

Best place for fish and chips in all of Netherlands. There is no opening hours because it's mainly runned by local teens and they close when the weather isn't ideal which makes sense to me.

Very tasty fries and Hoogies burger! Sometimes a very long waiting time and a little less salt would be nice... Update 2025: Prices have risen particularly fast here in recent years (for example Hoogies burger from 8 to 10.50 in 2 years, a can of drink from 3 to 3.50 in 1 year). It does get a bit expensive for a self-service, but yes, the fries remain exceptionally tasty despite the very high price. We'll just bring our own drinks from now on. It must be length or width....

Paid €13.70 for a really bad cheeseburger with a few over-salted fries. Except for all the salt, the fries were actually good. However, the almost meatless burger in a cold and sticky bun was really terrible, and the price of €7.70 was absolutely ridiculous.

A perfect day for the beach combined with school holidays made it insanely busy in every nook of Langevelderslag yesterday. So when dinner time rolled round, anything with two legs and a pair of thongs was ready for a feed. Though the line to order stretched out the door and spilled out onto the terrace, it was clear these guys knew what they were doing. A brigade of “horeca” professionals with everyone at their own station and this is the way they seemed to like it: white hot busy! Because it took me less than 5 minutes to get to the front of the line. The woman was friendly but a little over zealous when taking my order because just as I had managed to get through the first item on my list and with an “ahhh” to think, she blurted out “is dat alles!? (Is that all!?)” “Née” I replied, and she immediately recalibrated and took the rest of my order very happily. In my 12 years in the Netherlands, I write that up to good “Dutch” customer service. 😂🇳🇱 I had time to go back and grab my book to read while I waited and no sooner had I returned to the terrace did my beeper go off! 🤯 It couldn’t have been more than 10 mins! We scoffed it down at the playground with the food barely touching the sides. The fries were crispy, the burgers were seared perfectly but above all, the thing I’d been craving for the last two years was spectacular: the kibbeling - fresh, tender, well seasoned and with a crunchy crunch. It was disgusting how much I loved this meal. Seriously, I had to turn away for the sake the public. Ok, so this is a “snack bar” or fish and chip shop that’s been around for more than 40 years. My wife remembers it from her days as a child. But just because it’s fast food, doesn’t mean it should be held to lower standards. Hoogies knows their business and they’re proud of it. There is a person on orders, two or three in the back doing the cooking and frying, two in the front on assembly and expediting, and a floater buzzing around helping where they can. This is just what I saw. I’m sure there’s a dishwasher and/or busboy somewhere keeping everything clean. For the huge number of takeaways, they got inventive and used discarded cardboard drink trays to courier large portion orders like ours. Clever, efficient, and economical. Though brief, it was an absolute pleasure. Unfortunately, this sucks for other humble f&c establishments. This is now the standard. Good luck keeping up. 😂 If the weather is on the cooler side and fairly windy, be prepared for the kitchen to be closed early - around 20:00 has been our experience. This means that the basic snack bar stuff is still available, but burger’s and fish are off the menu. A small dent in their otherwise impenetrable standards. Highly recommend! 5 delicious stars!

Good food, but unfortunately no napkins.

Unfortunately we were only there once (due to the weather) and found the fries extremely tasty 🤩 super tasty, fresh, delicious sauce and the price was still ok. Everyone was sitting there relaxing after the day by the sea. Next time we're there, we definitely want to go again.

I once ate fish & chips here, which I really liked. This time I had the cheeseburger. For €7.70 it could have been a bit bigger, and at least with some fries. I feel ripped off. Avoid!

Fries Are Good, Rest is ewww… Fries Are nice and crispy, but the Fish tastes Like rotten and overcooked old oil. For 16€ a Bit dissapointet.

A large fries for €6.70 is too much for me. The fries taste good by the way! The large fries are the size of a normal container, which was standard in 2020. The beeping of all the devices on everyone's table does not come across well

Good chips/fries shop next to Langevelderslag beach. Prices are quite normal for 2024. The portion sizes [and the portions of sauces] are also fine enough.

We ate a Fish and Ships, the fries were very good and the fish was excellent, the portions were generous, served with two sauces (mayonnaise and béarnaise) Good value for money (around thirty euros for two) Be careful, in the evening, it closes early (7:30 p.m.) Parking is paid!

Hoogies has really delicious fries. 1 of our 2 favorites to enjoy. The service is good and fast, but the squeaky table plates for picking up your food are a bit impersonal. However, it also promotes speed, which has something to be said for it. The atmosphere on the beach is always great.

Zeer vriendelijk personeel maar ook niet raar gezien de vriendelijkheid van de uitbaters. Patatje normaal wel erg duur gezien de hoeveelheid.....kom op he frituurvet staat al aan en voor de rest is t gewoon aardappel. Maar kom er graag.😉

We had read that this was a fabulous place to eat properly cooked Dutch Friets in a lovely beach style setting. Anyway, this was our second attempt to eat here. On the first attempt we arrived at ca. 18:40 to be told that the kitchen was already closed. Pity as we had been lead to believe that they are open here until 19:00. Anyway, on our second attempt, we checked before taking a walk along the beach. They stop serving at 18:30 so we made sure that we were back by 18:00. This time, all was good. My wife & I ordered the fish & chips Kibbeling with Mayo and Tartare sauce. It was served in polystyrene boxes and came with wooden knives and forks. But OK. I washed mine down with a can of beer - Grolsch. The guys behind the counter were really chirpy - very friendly. And the most spoke excellent English which was a nice bonus.
