Hout in Oud-Strijp

The eight of us thoroughly enjoyed Italian starters and pizzas all evening.

The pizza was different than expected. Way too much arugula and some kind of grated cheese as a topping.

The food was good, and the service was neat, friendly, and helpful. The new location is less atmospheric than the old one; due to the placement of the large sofa across the room, you have no view of the bar or oven from the front.

Excellent pizza, amazing and warm service. I would prefer more pasta options, though.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. First of all, our food was not served at the same time. After we finished eating, we had to wait an incredibly long time for anyone to come to our table at all. We really wanted to order dessert. Eventually, a staff member came over to us and indicated that she would be back shortly to clear the table and take our dessert order. After waiting for over half an hour, no one had arrived yet, even though we tried to make eye contact several times and even raised our hands to get their attention. In the end, we just left. When paying the bill, a staff member asked if everything was to our liking. When I pointed out that we had had to wait a really long time, there was absolutely no response. He completely ignored my complaint and just said: “And here is the receipt.” Very poor service, and I found the way our complaint was handled particularly scandalous.

Had a delicious meal but it was very busy and therefore very noisy. The pizza was excellent and the Limoncello perfect.

Great looking place with cozy atmosphere. Staff was very nice, always looking after guests. I've seen place being popular for its pizza but i ordered pasta. Which was tasty and well cooked. Can only recommend.

The pizza consists mainly of a lot of crust, and specifically tomato puree. Very little topping.

You have to love cutting pizza with scissors; apparently, it's hip. English menu; had to ask for a Dutch menu, I am a local after all. Nothing special, really. Waiting time... well, you can make reservations everywhere these days and just wait for your drinks.

Tasty Italian pizza, nice location directly in the center of strijp S. Friendly service and reasonable prices. The knives do not cut anything so they have found a solution with scissors :) that makes it a bit less Italian.

Late-night visit with a nostalgic touch! We stopped by Hout close to closing time, so unfortunately the full menu was no longer available and they were only serving pasta. One fun touch was that they gave us scissors to cut our food. That was a lovely surprise because using scissors to cut food at home is something that actually runs in our family! We appreciated that they were still able to accommodate us for a quick meal before closing shop, and we look forward to coming back earlier next time to try the rest of their menu.

Everything was fine, only the focaccia was a bit burnt. Otherwise, we had a delicious meal, and the service was prompt too!

The best Italian-style pizza in Eindhoven! Everything was Top!. From the moment you arrive until the table service, everything is excellent. If you're traveling with children, they have coloring pages and coloring sheets. The entire menu is very very good. I highly recommend their tiramisu, delicious. It's very popular in the summer, before your visit I recommend booking a table directly on their website.

Fantastic food and drink at reasonable prices

A very good Italian restaurant. Just one small request: as is the case in many Italian restaurants, when ordering a pizza, could you provide a knife that actually cuts through the crust?

Popular pizza hotspot in town. Many good things: service was kind and quick, the place has a nice atmosphere, and we could feel the ingredients were fresh and of high quality. Prices are quite reasonable for the quality of the food. It's also open on Monday, which is rare in Eindhoven. Not so good: while again the toppings were good, the crust of the pizza was rather chewy, it misser some crunch. Also, the ambient music was at points a bit weird, it messed a bit with the peaceful atmosphere. of the place.

The food wasn't special; the type of croquettes served as a starter were comparable to air fryer croquettes. The service was fine, but if you asked to take it away if you couldn't finish everything, that was fine. However, the staff brought the pizza box so you could slide it in yourself. It seemed like a small effort to provide for the customer; it also looks strange to work a pizza into the box like that at the table. The menu is partially Italian, which might be nice for the theme but is just impractical. You get a pair of scissors with your pizza; honestly, that's nice, but as an Italian, I don't think you'd be happy about that.

The pizzas are delicious. The atmosphere and service quality are above average.

A half-empty restaurant in the middle of the day on a weekend may refuse to seat you.

AI ruined this place. Their website does not allow to choose gluten-free dough anymore, or make any type of adjustments or commentsin the pizza. The telephone is useless due to an AI voice that keeps repeating that it cannot put you in contact with an employee. When I finally got it to send me to a staff member, nobody picked up. I loved this place, but now I cannot request a pizza I can eat or ask somebody to change my order for me.

There were four of us who enjoyed the delicious food. We sat outside on the terrace, which allowed us to enjoy the unique atmosphere of Strijp-S. Highly recommended. The only thing I missed was music, hence 4 stars for the atmosphere. Otherwise, definitely recommended. The price-quality ratio is right!

Always a solid 10, tasty and cozy!

Life is expensive enough as it is, and it isn't cheap here either, but there are very few places left in Eindhoven's city center where you still get value for money, like here at Hout. Had a top-notch lunch with generously filled sandwiches and delicious pizzas, served with good service in an industrial ambiance. I (we, 6 people) will definitely be back here again.

Today, two of us wanted to grab a bite to eat, and we were spoken to by a staff member in a downright arrogant and rude manner. We came for a pleasant evening out and eventually left due to the terrible service. I would not recommend anyone go here, if only for the service. Fortunately, we still had a nice meal at another restaurant, where we were warmly welcomed.

A very beautiful place in the heart of strijp-s with a very spacious terrace. The ingredients for the pizza were very fresh. And it's a very nice portion with nice amount of ingredients on top. The waiters were very friendly. Definitely a pizza place to visit again.

Delicious pizzas. So tasty that even the kids (4 & 8 years old) finished a regular pizza. I would recommend making a reservation if you want to be sure of a table.

Had another delicious meal. You can't escape English-speaking staff in Eindhoven these days. One downside: the move to Strijp-S. I will go on about that until the end of time. Until next time!

One of the best Pizzeria in Eindhoven. Very spacious to also bring a stroller in. Pasta is also amazing with a generous portion.

The place was great and the food was delicious. Service leaves some things to be desired - 3 times forgotten pints and other items, waiting 5+ minutes for an additional menu, not paying attention to the table, etc. I blame it on the inexperienced waiter, as it was night and day with the more experienced staff.

There is hardly any pasta choice and absolutely no pasta before 5 o'clock, so I wouldn't go to Hout for pasta. Lots of pizza though! Everything was tasty. The toilets are very nice and clean (at least the ladies'), the people were very nice, the overall atmosphere was very cozy, it's just a real shame that you aren't allowed outside in the afternoon (I don't know why either), it's just very crowded, but if that doesn't bother you, it's fine.

We chose this restaurant because they offer gluten-free pizza for the kid with celiac disease at our table. The waitress understood our order and clearly explained that they couldn't guarantee 100% no cross contamination because the pizzas are baked in the same oven. We appreciated the transparency and decided to proceed. When the pizza arrived, we asked to double-check that it was gluten-free. After checking with the kitchen, they realized it wasn't. They remade it, but we had to wait for a new pizza. Mistakes can happen, but when we politely suggested paying a bit more attention to such a sensitive issue, the response was defensive instead of simply apologizing. If you advertise gluten-free pizza, extra care with these orders is essential. For the rest pizza and atmosphere are good.

The food was very delicious and fresh would definitely come again. And of course the service was spectacular!

Pizza cut with scissors and pure ingredients. Sometimes there were some black bits near the raised edges of the pizza from the stone oven, and we simply cut those off. Drinks arrived quickly, and so did the pizza, even though it was full inside and out. The noise on the terrace under the overhang could use a look; you can hear a lot of (reflected?) noise from other tables outside.

Super pizzas! We really had such a delicious meal for a reasonably low price; the bases are presumably sourdough, in any case, they taste delicious! Additionally, the tiramisu is highly recommended—I really need the recipe! It was also a cozy place with the Strijp-S vibe. The service was very friendly, though it can occasionally take a while to get your food or drinks due to the crowds.

Cozy atmosphere and super tasty pizzas

Great food. Both the appetizers and the pizza. Delicious pizza with 4 cheeses. Everything shared, absolutely top-notch. Unfortunately, there were also 3 ill-mannered, screaming children on the terrace, and when you scream like an 'adult' for once, everyone looks at you as if you're crazy. Well, I was driven crazy by those children. When I walked out of the restaurant, a child ran me over; it was also my fault. Ahem. Super food, bad location.

Nice location and a cozy atmosphere, the food was also tasty, but the service could definitely use some improvement. A very nice girl, but I suspect it was one of her first shifts; our food went to the wrong table, the dessert menu was forgotten, and we had to ask for drinks multiple times before they were actually brought. No real apology was offered for this, nor was any compensation provided. A shame!

Nice restaurant with an open layout. We had the Pizza Party Diamant menu. This consisted of multiple dishes and ultimately different types of pizzas for the group. So you don't have to choose between all the delicious options. The service is very pleasant and they have a good sense for the duration of the different courses. A nice experience and I will definitely come back here.

I’ve moved from Portugal to Eindhoven in January and i never thought that i will find the best Pizza that i’ve ever eated in my entire life in the Netherlands. The service, the environment, the food… what an experience. I’ve been there for 2 times and off course that i will repeat time that i can.

Hout Eindhoven certainly doesn't disappoint! I went out for dinner here yesterday with a friend and it was truly delicious! On top of the delicious food, the staff is also super friendly and the service was very good. I will definitely be back!

It was very busy and we had to wait a long time for our food; something had gone wrong with the delivery. The delicious food made up for a lot; it was really super!!!!

The food was quite good. The portions weren't very generous. What leads me to give it 3 stars is the fact that we had to wait an eternity for them to come and ask us about desserts. I felt that although the restaurant was almost empty and with quite a few people serving, they forgot we existed, and I left hungry.

For reasons I still cannot understand, the staff behaved in a discriminatory manner. We had a reservation and, when we arrived, we wanted to sit outside at a shaded table. However, we were told that the table was reserved. When we asked how we could reserve a table like that in the future, the woman handling reservations told us that we would not be able to make such a reservation. According to her, those reservations are only available to selected guests and not to everyone. We had simply hoped to spend a pleasant time with our guests and our baby, but this attitude was honestly quite disappointing and absurd. What made the experience even worse was the condescending attitude of the two employees responsible for reservations. They spoke to us in a very patronizing way and made us feel unwelcome.

The pizzas far exceeded my expectations, and you should definitely try the tiramisu as well, you won't regret it.

I went to this restaurant with my 1-year-old son so he could try his very first pizza. What a fantastic experience! The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the place is super clean and cozy. My food was on the table within just 10 minutes. The pizza gets a 10/10 from me! And from my son too; his kids' pizza was at the right temperature right away, so he could eat it safely immediately without burning his mouth. A real big plus!

Our second home. The warmth and hospitality of Jurgen, Chris, and their team are unconditional! Whether you just want to grab a quick pizza or have a nice, relaxed evening, anything is possible and allowed at Hout.

Super duper good pizza. The best of Nepolitana style in NL. Unfortunately, Waitress forgot to order pizza in kitchen. After waiting 45 mins, we were told she does not remember order. Reordered but bad service. Lady at the front desk seems disappointed / disinterested to offer table.

Nice industrial atmosphere/look, just as it should be on Strijp S. Tasty food. Very friendly and pleasant service. I will definitely be back!

I really like their pizzas and the fact that they have sufficient vegetarian pizza choices. The place never feels too packed and that is why we prefer it. I haven't tried anything else but I can imagine they are all delicious too. We haven't had any issues with the staff or the service. They are nice.

The pizzas are good but nothing special. There is a nice atmosphere inside. The staff speaks poor Dutch. On the expensive side for what you get.

The pizza's are really good, also a nice size for an adult. The desserts were less special, so therefore not 5 stars. Service was kind, but they unfortunately didn't (all) speak dutch and sometimes the wait felt longer than necessary.

Great atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly service

Standard English is used, however, it takes a while before service arrives. The order takes longer than you are used to. The staff is friendly and experienced. Like many in this type of environment, there is a lot of noise inside, and given the forced higher prices, they could certainly improve their attention to customer care. And that means not asking more often if you want another drink just because you have to wait longer for your order.

They have really suuuuper delicious pizzas here and the homemade tiramisu is also so good omg. The coffee is also very tasty :) Plus, the staff are very sweet.

After discovering this Italian place in January, I couldn't get the Pizza Diavola out of my head, so I headed to Eindhoven for the long Ascension weekend. Skating at the Area and then pizza! Nice and relaxed for lunch and a delicious meal!

The best pizza place in Eindhoven! We have been here several times and every time it is very tasty. The pizzas have a good base with a delicious crust. Personally, I also find the pizza cutting concept very convenient, so it's nice that they provide them with the pizza here. Furthermore, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a return visit!

Amazing atmosphere, good vibes at the ever-happening Strijp area.. As for the vegetarian pizza and the suppli starter, I've had better food. The beer from het veem was lekker.

Pizza was really amazing but for desert ordered the cookie with ice cream and instead of a real cookie it came with a ladyfingers biscuit which was really disappointing not only because I assumed it would be a delicious chocolate chip cookie that goes incredibly well with ice cream but because it was truly underwhelming in taste too. I recommend changing it in the menu to e biscuit instead of a cookie because it is misleading.

We had a lovely meal with friends. The service was very attentive, and the pizzas and tiramisu were delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Let me start by saying that the food was really delicious. We had chosen the wrong amuse-bouche, but that is our own fault. It didn't affect the taste at all. We found the pizzas and spaghetti delicious. However, the biggest letdown was that we had reserved for 4 people. Upon arrival, we indicated that there were actually 5 of us. Our son's (14) girlfriend was able to join us after all. Normally that shouldn't be a problem, but the lady who greeted us made a big deal out of it. Especially, "Oh dear, that's going to be difficult... we have to check, everything is full... blah blah blah..." That may all be true, of course, but a good and warm welcome should surely be... "Oh, then we'll just add an extra chair." That is what eventually happened at a round table. But still, this makes a big difference to us. Unfortunately, this time in a negative sense. At the end, we were served by a blonde lady and she was bursting with enthusiasm and friendliness! If it had been like that from the start, this would be the best place on Strijp S for us, and we would recommend it to everyone. So, just how something small can make a big difference... Normally I don't really write reviews and such... but since I was reminded three times via email to write a -positive- review, here it is.

A very big open space with delicious pizza and some unique flavors!

The food was fine, though the flavors could have been a bit more pronounced. The wait staff were all English-speaking. Not a disaster, but it does lack the typical Brabant coziness. As far as I'm concerned, the old location was nicer and cozier.

One of the waitresses was really hungover and we couldn't understand her. That was a mediocre part of the experience. The food, on the other hand, I found very good! The pizza was fantastic, and the risotto balls a delicious starter. Additionally, I am very pleased with the wine. In short: table staff could be better, but the kitchen does a very good job!
