Hout in Oud-Strijp

Based on the reviews, we had high expectations for this place. However, it turned out to be underwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, it's not bad, it's just like any other pizza restaurant with a wood-burning stove. Except here, you're paying more for a nicely finished interior. For the price, the pizzas don't have much going on, and the crust was quite burned. Outside of pizza, the menu doesn't offer much either. The service was confusing too, with different people serving us almost every time, and it even took two different servers before we could finally get a receipt. We'll be exploring other options next time.

Great place to be. Focaccia polpette, prosciutto, pizza diavola and the tiramisu are all great choices! Cappuccino is also recommended just for the cantuccini!

We decided to eat in Hout this afternoon where the new place is setup for opening. Early birds coming just in the afternoon, lucky to find a spot without reservation. The decoration is fancy with a beautiful garden, spacious interior. Ordered a salade and quadro fromaggi, again the taste was perfect. Especially the texture of the dough, the softness when chewing in the mouth is perfectly made. Ingredients were fresh and on quality. Highly recommended as best pizza place in the city!

Normally very positive about everything this restaurant has to offer. However, when I placed an order by phone today and, according to the website, drove to Torenallee 3, I was met with a closed door. I tried calling the same number six times, but unfortunately, there was no answer. At one point, it even went straight to voicemail. I ended up having to pick up my pizza elsewhere. When I finally got home, I checked again and suddenly saw that the address had changed. I'd like to change my review to the 5 stars this restaurant deserves, but this was just too unusual.

Delicious pizzas, lots of choices. The pizzas look great, have a thin crust, and a thick base. The staff is friendly. There's also free parking. The restaurant looks neat.

They are located in the edge of the center of Eindhoven but definately worth the walk. Delicious fresh made Napolitan-style pizza! Diavolo was a nice amount of spice, not too much. Tartuffo with salciccia rich with flavor. Also very delicious desserts! The service was quick and friendly.

One of my favorite places in Eindhoven to eat or order pizza! Always good!

Hout was a pleasant surprise. We went for pizza and left more than satisfied. I tried the Margherita and it was a real success: thin crust, well-baked, and with that flavor that transported me straight to Italy. My companion chose the Diabla, and although spicy food isn't my thing, he was delighted—he said it was delicious and had a unique touch. The most unusual thing: they give you scissors to cut the pizza! Practical and fun, definitely a memorable touch. To drink, I ordered an affogato (I confess I was hoping for something different), but I'm sure coffee fans will enjoy it very much. The service was excellent and the wait was minimal. An ideal place to enjoy a good pizza in a relaxed and personal atmosphere.

We had a fantastic evening at Hout Pizza! 🥰The pizzas were so good that we’re still thinking about them – we ordered the Special of the Month and the Diavola, and both were absolutely delicious. The dough was perfectly baked, the ingredients were fresh and full of flavor, and the balance of spice and toppings was spot-on. We also really enjoyed the wine and beer – both were high quality and complemented the meal beautifully. The atmosphere was calm, warm, and very inviting – perfect for a relaxed dinner. What really stood out was the staff; the waitresses were so friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Can’t wait to come back again soon!😍

Delicious food! Customer unfriendly though, once on a hot day we sat down there to drink a fanta but we were not allowed to sit if we only drank something. The terrace was almost empty and we really promised to only want 1 drink. Unfortunately. We live on StrijpS ourselves but we don't go there anymore, purely because of the customer (un)friendliness. Too bad!

The best pizza in Eindhoven can be found here :) Personal favorite, the Burrata Mortadella pizza. Also great that they have multiple 'white pizzas' here. Also highly recommended for lunch. Inside you sit the coziest/nicest :)

I was there with a friend of mine on a Wednesday evening. Lovely weather so we went to the terrace. It was completely full, nice! Very nice terrace but when I walked to the toilet I saw that it is also very nice inside. Service very friendly, a pleasant English speaking boy who did a great job. My starter was delicious but so was my friend's. He had the vegetarian plate with among other things. cheese croquettes, olives and many types of cheese. That was actually for 2, I also gave some to take away, highly recommended. Pizzas very large, delicious crust but also the topping delicious. Dessert then I recommend the crispy dessert, that was delicious! They have Texels Blond, also great. Price quality ratio is fine and a nice, cozy ambiance. Recommended!!

Nice place and atmosphere, was completely full on a Thursday evening. Friendly (English speaking) staff. The mixed antipasti was tasty, pizzas were well baked and delicious, only a pity that the pizza tartufo hardly tasted like truffle. There really should have been more on it! Also tasty pinot grigio.

True napolitan pizza, amazing crust. Nice interior but alot of passage round your table and noisy accoustics. Great Italian pizza if you're not looking for the intimate Italian athmosphere.

The size of the portions of the starters is very generous. That could be less, just like the price. The pizza base was delicious, really great. The topping (pizza Verdure) was ok. Chili was promised, but it was very (too) mild. In itself tasty, but also a bit flat, apart from the lack of peppers... had hoped for more. The flavors should stand out in Italian cuisine. Desert, on the other hand, was surprisingly small. A lemon sorbet with a drop of limoncello in a glass that is somewhere between a shot glass and a small wine glass. Suck on the straw 4 times and it was gone... Hmm. Quite tasty. All in all... Ok.

The truffle pizza was very delicious, one of the best I've had and I've had quite a few Neapolitan pizzas in my life. I recommend it.

Hout has an interesting menu with Neapolitan specialties (such as arancini). The location is nice and cozy, the decor is nice. We visited Hout on a Wednesday around 7:00 PM. The food was fine but nothing really stood out or was well seasoned. For the prices you pay, you get little topping, which does not benefit the taste experience. The pizzas are easy to forget, the tomato sauce lacks flavor. The desserts were tasty. We sat on the terrace and they were already clearing up around us while we were still eating the main course. Chairs were already being placed against the tables. This gave us a rushed feeling and detracted from the atmosphere on the terrace. The experience and the food were fine, but I would not come back here again.

PIN ONLY More and more restaurants no longer accept cash and make the pin mandatory. This is also the case at Hout in Eindhoven. A restaurant is allowed to do this (unfortunately), but must communicate this clearly in advance and cannot get away with a sticker on a door, such as at Hout in Eindhoven. After a pleasant evening, people initially did not want to accept cash (notes smaller than 100), even though this is really legal tender. Upon request, the manager was called in, who then reported that she had to call the boss about this. The total bill was EUR 192. Eventually someone from the service (not the manager himself) came to tell me that it was okay "just this once". It is certainly not personal to the people in the service, who were all really friendly. It will be born from fear and that's a shame...

I have been there with my family to have a dinner. I have ordered burrato pizza but it came almost without cheese. İt supposed to be a burrato cheese at the middle with fresh basil which was completely look like cooked. But I appreciated that they provide a table even we did not make a reservation.

I was here more often, because it’s very nice place for family gatherings, normally I had pizza which didn’t convince me so much but this time for lunch I had focaccia mortadella and it was a very good choice perfectly done bun with very good balance filling, generous slices of mortadella nice pice of mozzarella with pistachio cream and rocket salad, NICE !

Delicious pizzas picked up. They are not super big, so pricey in that respect, but good ingredients and taste. The caprese salad, however, was very poor, for €13 a few slices of tomato and mozzarella… otherwise fine.

Edit: I didn't realize that vegan mozzarella was available, good reason to visit again! Nice place to sit with a group. I understood from the rest of the group that the pizzas were very tasty. Pizza sharing is a very nice concept, unfortunately the vegan options were a bit limited. The service is friendly, fast and attentive. If you eat meat or are a vegetarian, I would definitely recommend Hout! For vegans it is a bit less, I ended up here with a company dinner, so I am happy that there is at least something for me.

My new favourite pizza place! The interior is lovely and spacious, creating a great atmosphere to enjoy a meal. Everything was very clean. The employees were kind and attentive, making the experience even better. The food was fantastic—plenty of choices, but not overwhelmingly so. I received my food quickly, and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

It got nice location and pleasant service. They know how to make a neapolitan pizza: perfect soft dough well cooked, nice selection of ingredients and overall good balancing. This used to be the best pizza in Eindhoven! (I'm Italian). Since they closed the restaurant on Leenderweg and kept only the one in Strijp-S, the quality of the pizza has declined significantly. It's obvious that they have changed the ingredients—the quality is now very poor. It's truly disappointing! I don’t know what happened, but perhaps, now that they have built a reputation, they assume people won’t notice the drop in ingredient quality. Unfortunately, it’s quite obvious.

One of the best pizzas in Eindhoven, but busy atmosphere I tried a Tartufo pizza at Hout in Eindhoven. The pizza itself was very good: a crispy base with airy and tasty dough. The ingredients were fresh and well distributed, although I would have liked a little more truffle flavor. The spring onion, on the other hand, was a bit dominant, causing the delicate truffle to fade into the background. Nevertheless, it was a tasty pizza, and I think Hout is one of the best pizzerias in Eindhoven. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively, but perhaps a little too much. It was very busy and loud, which is not ideal if you want to dine in a quiet setting. If you come for the pizza and don't value a quiet dining experience, this is definitely recommended.

I love italian food and have eaten many many pizzas in my life. The ones here are at the top of my list! And very friendly staff. Recommend!

We have been coming to Hout for some time now. Always good food, customer-friendly and child-friendly. But how we were treated yesterday really matters. I had indicated when making the reservation that we were with 4 children, which was no problem according to the girl on the phone. When we enter the restaurant we are placed at the back of the restaurant. Not really a smart choice because you know we are coming with children. This meant that the children had to keep going back and forth to the play corner. The 'manager' came to say that we had to keep the kids with us because it would become busier. No problem, kids were seated at the table with dinosaurs and drawings. After dinner, the kids go to the play corner, where one crawls on the floor. My friend walks over to tell her to stand up and that she can go to the play area. 'Manager' becomes furious and says that we have no control over our children, that we must leave the business immediately, that he had already spoken to us 3 times (this was not the case, he was at the table once), that he will remember our faces and that we will NEVER be welcome again. My friend couldn't even talk to him because he didn't want to listen. When paying, my brother-in-law asked again what exactly was going on, and the 'manager' again said the above things. My brother-in-law couldn't tell his story either. Never, ever treated so badly! We will never come here again and will not recommend it to anyone. Such a shame, because we always liked coming here.

Some of the best pizza 🍕 in this city! Impressed by the wine too. Friendly atmosphere and good service. They are very accommodating to families with prams, but beware, there is no changing table 🫤 Their selection is smaller than at your typical pizza place, but all of them are mouth-wateringly tasty.

Had a delicious meal with the children before the football match. Really good quality pizzas, slightly priced but the portions are very good, even the bambino pizza for our daughter was too much for her. In the end we had about a whole pizza (all together) left and we were allowed to take it home. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere, quite a few families with children around 6 pm, when we left more couples and groups of friends. Drinks were surprisingly reasonably priced, sometimes you pay €4-4.50 for a coke, here it's still €3.25. Keep it that way! Drinking doesn't require any effort, but the pizzas do, so they may cost a bit. Absolutely recommended: the pizza burrata & mortadella. Tartufo also tasty but somewhat heavy in cheese.

Before the competition I came here to have a moment of solo enjoyment and boy oh boy did I enjoy it. Everything was perfect. In any case, the food was absurdly delicious, the atmosphere was cozy and the service was top notch. If you reserve for 1 person, you eat at the bar and various staff members stop to chat with you while they work behind the bar. Several people have stayed with me in a very positive way, but I only remember the name of Eren! Great guy, but again that also applies to the ladies and other men who work there. I came for dinner after a whole day of fasting and started with a Tagliere Vegetariano and ended my evening with a delicious Pizza Napoli. Book in advance! It's very busy (and delicious) here!

Absolutely fantastic every time.

In a city like Eindhoven with many students, this is a well-suited restaurant. The atmosphere is excellent. The service is good. The quality of the pizza is disappointing. Good bases, but the toppings too simple and not tasty. The Tartuffo has no truffle flavor. The radicchio gorgonzola only tastes like too sharp gorgonzola. The mortadella burrata is too much burrata, it should be half a sphere and is not balanced. This could be much better and this location deserves that.

Pizza was good. Arancini were terrible, just unfrozen out of the freezer. Slow service, it took 1,5h for two pizzas and 1 starter... Nice place, but I probably won't be back.

What a great pizza place! I love it. This is recommended by an Italian colleague living in Eindhoven as it is their go-to place. The place provides a variety of pizza options, and I was suggested Burrata and Mortadella. I loved it, and I was so full. Apart from that, the place also provides gluten-free dough options.

Amazing pizza, top quality. Most importantly: they don’t save on the ingredients, crazy amount of pistachios on the pistachio/mortadela pizza and huge amount of anchovies and tomatoes on the Napoli pizza. No shrinkflation at Hout😀 great service and the decor is cozy, inviting. What’s not to love?

Potentially one of the best places in Eindhoven, but the toppings on the really good focaccia are not of the quality as the focaccia. We prefer to pay more for top and hope that this will happen

Sadly we were very hungry and drove far away to have the so much desired Italian pizza... and as the restaurant was still so full, kitchen was still operating we were very disappointed to not be helped by ordering at least an easy Margherita... Sad we had to leave in that way... Surely something could have been possible. Pity
