What a beautiful place and beautiful restaurant. Top notch.

Very friendly service, food excellent!

On August 21, we dined with an international group of 27 people. Unanimous verdict: Great food, very good service, and all of that in a nice and pleasant atmosphere.

We had a delicious meal in a great atmosphere. The only thing I found odd was that I didn't receive a bill, but was simply quoted. Of course, I could have asked for a bill, but surely something like that should happen automatically?

Great experience! Was it because of the holidays that it was so quiet? What a lovely evening we had here.

The food and service were perfect. Unfortunately, on a hot day (30 degrees), we did not have the luxury of air conditioning. The tables were uncomfortable due to awkward bars between the legs. Some tables were also wobbly. But apart from that, we enjoyed a fine 3-course dinner.

Beautiful and very cozily decorated, warm atmosphere. Service good, cheerful and friendly. Excellent to combine with a visit to De Flint or the city center of Amersfoort. Parking and accessibility excellent. The food was good, but not exceptional.

Actually, everything was well taken care of; just one tip though: remove duplicate cutlery if it won't be used when ordering; place a spoon down if necessary, as that is sometimes handy with rice dishes. Finally: the food could be served in hotter utensils.

We had a delicious meal with a group of 8 people. The service was good, the food was beautifully presented and tasty. The restaurant's decor was atmospheric. We were also allowed to eat outside. Perhaps that would have been better in hindsight, because halfway through our meal a group of men sat down at two long tables who drowned out our noise considerably. That was a shame. Otherwise, nothing but good things to say about this restaurant.

We went out for lunch with the team. Everything was arranged in good consultation; a lovely outdoor lunch spot. Atmospherically set, great staff, and a delicious lunch; very satisfied! Highly recommended! Also suitable for large groups!

Very enjoyable spot with good food and staff. We had late dinner outside (20:00-21:30) and the neighbouring bar had music playing quite audible from where we were, so if you want a quiet dinner inside might be better. The meal took a bit longer than expected but was very good.

A few more real vegetables is actually a must. The apple compote is tasty, as is the pickle salad, but that is about all there is to say.

Delicious starter, good main course Fries, applesauce, and cucumber with the meal. Applesauce is more of a children's dish. The cucumber was tasty, but nothing special. A type of vegetable and a nice mixed salad would have been a better match for the tasty main course.

April 2026 Late afternoon. Nice and quiet. Humphre's in Amersfoort is located a stone's throw from the AFAS Theater. Ideal for grabbing a quick bite before visiting the theater. Cozy, warm, and atmospheric decor. Clean restrooms. Good quality food! Mixed grill: sublimely tender meat! While waiting for the main course, a member of staff comes to ask if everything is to our liking and if we might want a dessert... "I'd rather have our main course." We order an extra portion of fries because the four of us have finished the first one. By now, we have finished the rest of our food. The same member of staff comes again to ask if everything is to our liking. We realize that we are still waiting for an extra portion of fries. "Okay, then I'll take the plates away." Uhm... peculiar! Eventually, we are served the portion of fries. We quickly eat it all with our hands. We pay the bill and leave the restaurant somewhat bewildered.

Besides having a delicious meal, the staff was incredibly friendly. That always enhances the atmosphere in a restaurant. I had just complimented them on that while they were clearing the table when a little accident happened, resulting in sauce getting on my brand-new trousers. What incredibly good service followed immediately! After I had naturally tried to get the stain out myself first, I eventually got a refund for the trousers! 👍🏼 Thank you again! We highly recommend Humphrey’s Amersfoort for both the food and the service!

Yesterday, on the spur of the moment, we went here for a meal from North Holland. We were planning to walk towards the city center, but I thought this place looked so nice. Fortunately, they still had space, but fifteen minutes later, it was completely full. Pleasant atmosphere, nice ambiance, and delicious food. We had 4 different staff members at our table, but they were all incredibly friendly! The starter, carpaccio, made up for it, and the main course, risotto in the 2nd photo, was also very tasty, even though the presentation/preparation method of the risotto was different from what I am used to. It tasted very good. We wanted for nothing, and in between courses, they genuinely asked if everything was to our liking. Practical info: In terms of noise, it is a bit busier, but we didn't find that annoying. The ladies' restroom has 1 toilet. Parking is available for a fee in the garage that is practically right next door. All in all, we had a wonderful time and a lovely evening. Many thanks for that!

Delicious dishes and friendly service

Had dinner on a Friday early evening. The two-course menu (carpaccio and mixed grill) was perfect. We received the bread/spread that was included as a starter. The main course also included applesauce with real apple pieces and pickled cucumber. Everything tasted great, including the mixed grill. It was excellent. The atmosphere was great. The staff were also helpful and came to ask if everything was to our liking. Definitely recommended for next time. Well done.

Nice accessible not too expensive restaurant

I think we've been here ten times now (Christmas Eve and Valentine's Day have definitely become regular dates). Humphrey's remains a cozy and affordable dining experience. Delicious food, great service. We'll definitely be back!

Very disappointed. Had a dinner on February 7 with my partner. Worst service; the host told us to find a table of 2 “alone” even though we had a reservation. We hang our coats by ourselves and found a table without escorting. The sides coming with the dinner was the funniest part of the night it says “salad and fries” what comes is “sliced cucumbers and apple pure:))”. We had a moderate beef bourguignon and a very delicious Tournedos (very well cooked). Drank 2 glasses of Merlot, seems the cheapest available one couldn’t even finish. The tiramisu was also nice didn’t seem fresh but at least the taste was there. For the price I would never visit there one more time. I wanted to try for the ambiance (which is very nice) but the service and the food disappointed us throughout:(

A very nice and atmospheric restaurant!!! My recommendation for the starter is definitely the carpaccio. You can have it with truffle sauce or pesto. I chose the pesto and it was truly delicious. The service was fast, and you get a bread board beforehand without even asking! There was also a special dessert, a popcorn muffin!!! Super delicious! It's a regular muffin (not a dry one) topped with caramel and popcorn! There was also a scoop of ice cream. The main course was tarte tatin. It was also super delicious! The food was absolutely delicious! Humphrey's is next to the Flint parking garage, so parking is easy!🤩

We ate the set three-course menu on New Year's Eve for 47.50. Was it already bought in for Christmas? Unfortunately, the food was consistently tasteless, didn't taste fresh, was loveless, and over-prepped. Didn't eat anything that was truly delicious. Starter: Dehydrated Asian carpaccio that tasted like nothing, with dried-out spring onions. Just not quite enough sauce, which, by the way, had no flavor either. Asian? Didn't notice it at all. Main: Fries were nothing special, apple compote okay, sour limp cucumber. Free refills sound nice, but who else would we get from these dishes? Steak okay, but paying an extra 10 euros really wasn't worth it (that's about 10% of the flavor and 70% of the size of the one at Loetje). Dessert: Half-eaten grand dessert. Watery and hard ice cream, okay brownie and vanilla bun, weird dry pieces of lemon cake? Whipped cream didn't taste like anything either. It shouldn't bear the name Grand Dessert. Boring Chardonnay. It looked like it was full of oak. But it was licorice-like and just plain boring. They did politely take 2 drinks off the bill when we gave feedback. But 130 euros for 2 people to get a sort of full and dirty feeling. Mediocrity really reigns supreme. Nice, attentive, and sufficient service, and a beautiful building and interior. That much is true.

After years, I finally visited a Humphrey's branch. The menu was good, the concept unchanged. I did notice, however, that the bread beforehand has become scarce and the cotton napkins are gone.

When visiting this restaurant, I do not expect anything grand or extraordinary. I simply expect the preservation of traditional recipes. For example, carpaccio should be served according to the classic recipe — with pine nuts. The same applies to other dishes: if camembert is listed on the menu, it should be actual camembert, not a cheaper substitute. If cod fillet is ordered as a main course, it should be cod fillet, not a lower-cost replacement such as hake. For this reason, I am giving this restaurant a low rating. They were unable to do the most basic thing: ensure that the menu accurately reflects what is actually being served. The dishes offered did not correspond to what was presented on the menu.

Don't go here with a large group. The food was all tasteless, but the restaurant's atmosphere is very good.

Came to eat with a large group and we had a small menu we could choose from. Starters and desserts were basic but fine. Staff is polite and overall it’s a beautiful restaurant. However, the main courses were bad. The mixed grill was extremely dry, came with no vegetables at all. The fish had such a strange taste to it, and the mashed sweet potatoes tasted like speculaas + there were mustard pearls on it that definitely did not pair well with the rest of the dish. Unfortunate!

The atmosphere and ambiance are very nice there but the main course was of very good quality but served strangely. We had fish and a mixed grill and that is exactly what we got... a dish on the plate and a portion of fries, that was it, no decoration on the plate or vegetables... fish and fries, nothing more.

Some of us found the meat a bit tough. When they pointed this out, they were given the choice of a new portion or a free drink. Nice!

Worst restaurant I've ever visited in Amersfoort, Netherlands. Food was barely OK. My friend has to send his steak back, not sure if you can call it a steak, it is the size of a meat bite. They were rushing us to leave around 9PM which is weird. I tried to order more food since the portion is so small , but the waitress says it will take 30 minutes to prepar toe, simply they want to close and get us out. We were big group like 13 people, but they don't care. I regret the 850 euros I paid.Will never be back there.

We were seated upstairs in a separate room which was a noisy room acoustically speaking.

I had exactly one hour to grab a bite to eat before a performance at the Flint theater. I passed this on to the staff and they responded fantastically. In no time I had a delicious meal, a good glass of wine and even time for dessert. So well thought out. Are you going to the theater? Come eat here beforehand. Highly recommended. We have eaten at Humphreys before but last Friday was the best time. The food was great! The service was incredibly friendly and fast. Everything went smoothly, there were enough staff (even people from the kitchen were serving and that went very well). We had a really delicious meal. Only the cauliflower salad was not to our taste.

The food was downright inadequate. We discovered a hair in the food twice, and the first time the food was not warm. Appetite quickly disappeared; the kitchen failed. On the other hand, the staff (service) was very friendly and we were helped well, even after we indicated that we were leaving because of the quality of the food. There is really nothing to complain about here. If things were to change in the kitchen, I would not rule out a new visit.

We decided to go there because the atmosphere and ambience seemed pretty and cozy. After the meal we definitely can say, this was one of the best meals we‘ve ever had. The service was really friendly and Courteous. The courses were the perfect size and fabulous. The price was very fair. We would and we are definitely coming back :)

We had the upstairs room for a family meeting. Staff were well thought out (music off, privacy) and food was delicious!

Unfortunately a lot went wrong. First of all, when we were just sitting down, the waiter dropped a glass on my daughter's foot. 2 minutes later everything fell off the tray again. our coats while drinking... after cleaning this up, they forgot to give us the drink and we were able to follow it. That was resolved with a free drink. We were seated at 6:15 PM and the appetizer finally didn't arrive until 7:30 PM! This one was fine. The main course, on the other hand, was not good. Mix grill chewy and bland. Also, a skewer with small pieces is not really what you imagine from a mixed grill, but good. The turkey oyster was fine but the red cabbage that came with it was a greasy mess and didn't even taste like it. Like a mouthful of gravy in your mouth. When we finally got dessert, it was only at 9:15 PM that they came to say that everything was gone. Half ordered something else and this was also served half finished. One no chocolate sauce and the other a burnt crème brulee. This was again inedible. It took way too long and 2 of the 3 courses were inedible. Management forgot a lot. A waste of our money because she didn't want to change anything beyond 1 round of drinks. Shame

Ate here on Saturday January 11, we were treated kindly when we entered and sat down, drinks came quickly and the staff was friendly. Starter, we had bao bun and the crispy redfish fillet, the redfish fillet was very tasty but the bao bun was very dry. Main course, we had the mixed grill and the black garlic veal skewers, with the mixed grill the steak, pork tenderloin and the black angus burger were very tasty, the chicken was unfortunately very dry and chewy. With the black garlic veal skewers it was almost raw, the taste was good, but it was not yet jumping around in the meadow. I absolutely love meat because I am very fanatical about the sports world, but I couldn't get rid of this. For dessert the Lemon curd crème brûlée and the tiramisu. The Crème brûlée was very gooey and the sugar topping was anything but crispy, with the tiramisu we initially thought it had been misunderstood as the server arrived with an oreo cheesecake, said it wasn't the right one, it came back a few seconds later that the tiramisu was gone so I got this, then he put it down and walked away. We were sitting in the middle of the restaurant and yet we were forgotten. The 2nd time ordering a drink took an extremely long time and they also forgot the cutlery a number of times, it seemed as if large groups were given priority over me who was with 1 other person, even after paying the bill we were asked if we wanted anything to drink. wanted to order while we put on our coat to go.

Maandag 30 december geweest, om nog gebruik te kunnen maken van kortingsbon 2024. Aangezien ons gewenste dessert (Lemon curd-crème brûlée – merengue sticks) niet beschikbaar was, mochten we in eerste instantie niet, maar omdat het bijna nieuwjaar was uiteindelijk wel, koffie met een likeurtj ipv een dessert, waardoor we toch nog van de kortingsbonnen gebruik konden maken. Wat schetst onze verbazing, de gerechten zijn afzonderlijk opgeteld en vervolgens de korting, Dus ipv 38,95 wat 3 gangen diner zou kosten was het 43,85 -/- de korting. Ze konden het niet anders in de kassa zetten, gaat ons niet om die paar euro maar het principe, klopt dus niet wat toegezegd was. Ook bleek het erg moeilijk een glas water bij de rose te bestellen. Eerst zouden we een hele fles moeten kopen. Uiteindelijk kwam toch nog een glas water. Bediening erg gemaakt en zakelijk, was tot zo'n 2 jaar geleden stukken beter.

Ik heb het nog nooit zo slecht ervaren. Het vlees was taai de wijn was slecht en de bediening wist niet waar ze mee bezig waren. Alles wat maar mis kon gaan ging mis. Ga hier nooit meer eten

Ate here on Saturday evening. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere and was also pleasantly busy. Service could be better. We had to wait a very long time for our drinks and always had to 'catch' someone to order something else. However, the food came through quite quickly. The bao bun was very dry and the mixed grill was lukewarm but tasty.

Nothing to complain about but also nothing interesting. Food is okay but uninspired. Good place for a quick bite.
