Amazing restaurant! Our server gave us these delicious rice cakes for free! The avocado roll was yummy and fresh! I also loved the fried rice. The price range is very, very reasonable, which was so appreciated, given that some places in Leiden are so expensive. Service was amazing, the server was very helpful. Highly recommend!

Only 1 waitress despite a full terrace and inside. We made a reservation, but this was not necessary. They do not look at that. Waited more than 45 minutes for drinks, 1.15 hours for the first course. Then around 1.5 hours we asked if they had already started on the sushi, this was not the case. We thought waiting another hour was going too far, the child has already done his best to be patient. 2 tables for seemed like regular guests and were served ala minute at their beck and call, everyone else waited just like us for more than an hour... Asked for the bill and went to the neighbors to still get our stomachs filled. Very unfortunate and can't say much about the sushi, we couldn't taste it. They also handle the orders from thuiszorgd in between. This is really too much for the number of guests. Hire more staff! After all these years they should know that by now... So for us not a success in the summer months. Only suitable in the winter when only 5-6 tables are occupied inside!

Great sushi restaurant a la carte. Quality is fine but not the top, it doesn't have to be, food is fresh and prepared with love. Sweet and friendly service. Prices reasonable. Great sushi restaurant for those who choose quality and don't settle for an all you can eat "food barn". Reservations recommended due to limited seating capacity.

Amazing atmosphere, family owned business with a stylish decoration that makes the restaurant seem bigger than it is, I love the asian decoration and the colours. The food has such a good price that you don’t believe how tasty it is! I will definitely come back with my friends more often.

My husband, 2 kids and I had a fantastic lunch here. The food was very good quality, we had several sushi platters and some drinks. It was also good value. Inside the place is immaculate, very very clean and tidy. The bathrooms also immaculate. Staff very friendly too. The main reason I write this review was due to our server, I had him write his name on a bit of paper but I lost it :( I think he may be the owners son but not sure. I told him I would leave a review because he was an absolute gentleman. Friendly and efficient and overall just a lovely vibe at this place. They also have seating outside for the sunny days. We will definitely be back soon! :)

The sushi was so big it didn't fit in our mouths. The rice was also on the dry side, which caused it to fall apart on your plate. Our soy had become a bath for the rice. Furthermore, the staff was really super friendly! And they were fast too.

Delicious food. The sushi is really fresh fresh. I think that is very important with fish. And the salmon flavor was really great. The tuna too. I had the nigiri 🍣 Sashimi chicken crispy sushi and the chicken satay with a kind of Teriyaki sauce. But much tastier. It is a small-scale restaurant. No factory. Really cozy. The staff also incredibly friendly. Nowadays you don't easily experience that anymore. When it's busy. It may take a little longer. But that's because they make everything really fresh for you. So I still think it's great. Highly recommended.

Ichiban does not live up to its name (Japanese; number one). I know almost all the sushi places in Leiden, but this is the best in terms of quality and staff. It has happened to me that, in my enthusiasm to eat here, I ordered too much. Instead of just serving everything in the idea of ​​earning as much as possible from the customer, the lady took this into account. By serving in courses and checking in between whether we had not ordered too much food, we were prevented from being served too much. Of course that lady saw that we had ordered too much... nice that she paid attention to this and prevented us from being served too much food.

I really liked the food here and it was ready quickly, plus the employees were very nice and helpful. You can order sushi and various other things, but you can also customize it to your own taste. Good experience!

I ate here during a very warm day. I could make my own sushi 'box'. I ate at the restaurant alone, the waiters were very kind and accommodating. The food was really delicious for good price I'd say. They made everything fresh after i ordered. They also have a teras with umbrellas. I'd come back :)

Bien servido, muy rico, excelente servicio.

Ik kom hier erg vaak voor verschillende gelegenheden zoals een date , familie diner en met vrienden. De teriyaki maaltijden zijn erg aan te raden en daar zit je dan ook meteen vol van. Qua sushi is er niet enorm veel variatie maar ik zou hier vooral gaan voor de warme gerechten en sushi als bijgerecht kiezen. De eigenaren zijn super aardig en wij worden altijd snel geholpen desondanks de drukte op sommige tijdstippen. Ik zou ga veel liever naar ichi ban dan een all you can eat gelegenheid want hier zit je gezellige zowel binnen als buiten en heb je niet het gevoel dat je in een vreetschuur zit.

Eten was weer ouderwets genieten. Al was het zoals verwacht wel duurder geworden. Service was minder door gestreste serveerster. Erg lang wachten en als we dan geholpen werden moest het ff snel. Was ook wel erg druk op dat m moment.

Lekkere sushimaaltijd meegenomen.

Solid food sushi was good, the udon I got was a little bit bland but texture and presentation were good. Prices were really fair and portions were good overall solid place!

Best sushi place in the vicinity! Please skip Yuniku (the worst) or Shabu Shabu (not worth the money - maybe just lunch hour is better). Food is fresh and you can tell that they prepared the food with care. Also a good sign when it's actually ran by Japanese staff :) My partner and I literally ordered twice in two days. Decent sushi for Leiden. We tried salmon nigiri, salmon sashimi, cheese salmon roll, seared salmon nigiri...everything was good! Please give it a try!

Sushi is ok - but regarding the 4.5 reviews here I expected a lot more than this. I'm apparently too spoiled with very good sushi at some other places. Sorry!

Dit is een klein, vriendelijk restaurant. De gerechten zijn prima en met zorg klaargemaakt. Meneer en mevrouw in de bediening. Het is een komen en gaan van bezorgdiensten met hun grote tassen. Met goed gezelschap aan tafel hoeft je dat niet te storen. Prijs/kwaliteit zijn prima.

Ik ben met familie rond februari hiernaartoe geweest. De prijzen waren héél klein voor wat je krijgt en het is echt een goeie value for money. De bediening was heel gezellig en de mensen die er werkten waren ontzettend aardig! Het eten was ook heel lekker en ik heb eigenlijk geen klachten. Echt een aanrader!

Een heel leuk zaakje, gezellig en onwijs gast vrij! Heel erg genoten van het lekkere eten.

Pedí sushi a domicilio. Los alimentos entregados eran diferentes a los que pedí. Faltaba la mitad de los alimentos. Traté de llamar al restaurante. No hablaban ni una palabra de inglés y cuando traté de explicar lentamente el problema, me colgaron. Intenté varias llamadas, pero ya ni siquiera respondiste a mis llamadas. La salsa de soja era tremendamente salada y el sushi que me dieron era mediocre. Simplemente no puedo recomendar este lugar en absoluto. Por favor evite.
