Il Gattopardo in Feijenoord

My goodness, we just returned from having enjoyed a super delicious evening at Il Gattapardo. It's been some time since I was so impressed. Lots of attention to detail in the scrumptious and well thought through, creative dishes, yet ooze authenticity. The signature dish: a wonderful, truly wonderful preparation of octopus with smokey, velvety, creamy flavours. The wine / food combination is superb. The team put their hearts on the plate. Go check them out, this place is a real gem!

Fantastic experience, amazing cuisine. Chef Salvatore has managed with a natural genius to bring the flavours and traditions of Sicily and Southern Italy to the Netherlands with a result that is never to be taken for granted. Nothing like the usual Italian restaurants abroad. This restaurant offers an experience beyond what one can taste even in Italy. The two of us sampled both land and sea menus (5 courses) with an accompaniment of niche wines. Lively, vibrant, sunny cuisine, we will certainly return and wish the chef many more well deserved success !

It was a party. Every dish was a picture on the plate and a taste explosion in the mouth. The service is customer-oriented and pleasant. See you soon!

Not very busy on the day we were there, but the weather is beautiful. We first have an aperitif outside and then move inside for dinner. All beautiful Italian dishes accompanied by good Italian wines. And if you don't quite like a wine, the sommelier will be happy to pour you something else. Enjoyed.

Full of expectations and the four of us went to eat here. The flavors are right. But the amount of food is really minimal. Super small dishes for a mega price. Paid far more than 175 euros per person, including wine and coffee. The proportions are wrong. Paid over 700 euros for four people! The dishes are very tasty but not enough. Not a second time! Absurd After a few weeks of reflection, I still stand by my writing here. Absurd amounts for so little food. The feeling of being cheated still lives with me and my table companions. I've been to restaurants from one to three stars and everything below that. But never before had such a feeling of being fooled.

Great meal. Beautiful real flavors, as befits Italian cuisine. Refined, surprising but without too many frills. Delicious. Please note: reservations are a must here.

What a fantastic restaurant. Unfortunately quite quiet, but a great culinary experience. A top Italian. Incomprehensible that it was not full on Thursday. I would say, go there if you want top food. And by the way, the wines are also great.

This restaurant has been on our list for a while and we were not disappointed. What a fantastic Italian! I could go on for a whole story here, but if you like fine dining and Italian food then you simply MUST go here. Everything is also accompanied by the best Italian wines. Small restaurant, 10 tables only but with decent distance between the tables. Very good and enjoyable food experience. Dishes are made of good quality fresh ingredients. Parma ham is excellent. Their own homemade bread is really good. Portions are on a small side. However, 5 course menu (together with their amuse breead+ butter&oil) was enough for us. They offer 2 types of menus: meat and fish. Both are good, although I would prefer the fish menu. We took half glass wine arrangement - very good quality wines. Service is attentive and professional. However, during the reservation we mentioned that we come for a special occasion, the restaurant didn't do anything about it. I give 4 stars because of that and because the location is noisy.

A real winner! Passion and motivation radiate from everything. The service is super friendly and takes time for a chat. The dishes are all delicious and the portions are just right. You don't walk out feeling full or hungry. The wine pairing is also definitely recommended! We will definitely come back. PS: Best olive oil ever!

What a treat to be able to eat here. Because we don't live in Rotterdam, we opted for lunch. Delicious and beautiful dishes, it was all so delicious. We enjoyed it, highly recommended.

What a great restaurant! The food is delicious and of high quality. The octopus, pasta with prawn, veal neck and canolli were favourites. But all dishes are equally beautiful and carefully prepared and all highly recommended. We will definitely come back!

Fantastic, I know 2 top Italian restaurants in the Netherlands and Il Gattopardo is one of them. Been three times now and every time it exceeds every expectation. We keep coming!

I ate at Il Gattopardo for the first time last week, and what a great experience that was. We were surprised by the chef and that was highly recommended. Everything has been arranged down to the last detail. From the bread basket with phenomenal spreads to the beautiful dishes and matching wines, you can taste the attention, love and quality of the products used in everything. The hosts are also super friendly and know everything about what they make. Despite the high level, it is not too stiff and there is room for a joke, but that is not at the expense of professionalism. I will definitely come back, thank you for the good experience.

Nice little chic restaurant. Was a bit quiet on Thursday evening. Sorry, but this place should be packed every night. Beautiful dishes, subtle flavors, surprises, people with a heart for the business and for their guests. Knowledge of what they serve and serve. Background music also remains in the background. Italian restaurant from 2023. Not cheap, but treat yourself to it.

Great food, delicious wine and top service, but the atmosphere could be a bit looser I recently visited Il Gattopardo on Katendrecht in Rotterdam, and I must say, the food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was a taste explosion and the service was simply top-notch. They were attentive and friendly, and really went the extra mile to ensure we had a great experience. And let's talk about the wine, because it was simply fantastic. Every sip was a pleasure and paired perfectly with the dishes. You can really tell they put care into their wine selection. In terms of value for money, Il Gattopardo hits the nail on the head. You really get value for money here, with delicious food, great service and top wines. But to be honest, the atmosphere was a bit too stiff for my taste. It felt a bit formal and I missed a bit of the relaxed atmosphere that I look for in a restaurant visit. But having said that, that is of course very personal and others might appreciate that. All in all, I would definitely recommend Il Gattopardo to anyone looking for good food, good service and quality wines in Rotterdam. If they can loosen up the atmosphere a bit, it would be perfect!

Delicious food, what a surprise! Fine wine, beautiful dishes and expert and friendly service, we will definitely come back! The only comment I have is the 'atmosphere': I think the light could be a little lower and maybe a candle on the table :-)... see you soon!

Incredibly delicious food & drinks with friendly and expert service, reception and parking around the corner. A place where you can eat delicious Italian food and leave satisfied but not stuffed. Nice wines too. Just look up the review from the NRC and forget about the curmudgeon from the Volkskrant

Stumbled in here after we found out Matroos en het Meisje was full and what a wonderful 'geluk bij een ongeluk' it was. The menu is simple: each course you can only pick out of 2 options and every option is done extremely well. It was a flavour explosion that I can still remember to this day. The service was excellent, they even managed to change courses on the spot because my partner couldn't eat mussels - and the alternative was flavourful and matched the fish course perfectly! It's about €50 per person for the meal. Later we went to Matroos en het Meisje and I will recommend Il Gattopardo 100% over Matroos. That's why we went to Il Gattopardo again afterwards We will be back!

The food and wines are quite good, but the price is not commensurate with what you get.

What an incredible set of dishes, crafted with passion and imagination. This is a rare gem that should not be missed.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Salvatore is an artist and brings the flavours of Sicily to the table in a way that I have never seen before. The food is creative without being pretentious and most importantly it was so delicious. We did the 6 course tasting menu with half wine pairing and were so happy we did. I also was impressed with the service and frankly I do not get to say that as often as I would like in the Netherlands. If I lived in Rotterdam this would be on my favourites list, and I would happily train from Utrecht to eat here again. Just fabulous!

Few time I could eat Italian food in such high quality and with creativity, always with the respect of tradition, using real Italia products. A place to be and defenetaly I'll back. I'm Italian.

We went there on a sunday evening. The team was super friendly attentive and professional - it was really fun to have conversations about Sicily, Catania and Italy. The food was superbly prepared and refined and it is clear that the chef puts a lot of pride and knowledge in the dishes. Strongly recommended!

Hidden gem! Fantastische keuken, creativiteit die een sterrenrestaurant niet zou misstaan. Heerlijke combinatie van gerechten en wijnen. Wij waanden ons weer terug in het zuidelijke Italië! Aanrader.

Heb een zeer genoeglijke avond hier gehad, met uitzonderlijk goed eten. Naast veel persoonlijke aandacht van bijna al het aanwezig bedienend personeel, hebben wij veel uitleg gehad van de onderhoudende gastheer. Hij wist veel te vertellen over de (bereiding van hun) gerechten, en de wijnen. Ook de chefkok kwam langs om over hun gerechten te praten. Uiterst interessant. Het is een restaurant met bewust relatief weinig tafels, omdat zo veel aandacht aan de gasten besteed kan worden. Dat gebeurde dus ook. Het is geen vreetschuur, maar een restaurant waar siciliaanse gerechten worden geserveerd. Als men voor pizza of pasta gaat, dan zal men teleurgesteld zijn. Er is is meer dan dag. Italiaanse gerechten zijn karakteristiek gerechten met minimale ingrediënten om tot een maximale smaak explosie te komen. Aanrader! Helaas staat Google niet toe dat ik foto's stuur? Het zijn alleen foto's van het eten, maar het algoritme heeft ergens moeite mee.

Top!! We gingen vroeger al in Rijsbergen, helaas moeten we nu ietsje verder rijden maar dat doen we met plezier. Met stip mijn favo Italiaans resto!

Wat een mooi en heerlijk restaurant. We kozen voor het menu van de chef . Geheel geïnspireerd op de Siciliaanse keuken. We zijn echt in de watten gelegd. Hier wordt gekookt met trots en gastheerschap .

Wonderful taste experience with a great service!

Waarom twee sterren? Ik start eerst met het positieve en helaas is dat maar één ding. De bediening was in orde. Ze doen hun best. Eten was onder de maat. Zie foto; dit was het hoofdgerecht. Een wortel door midden snijden en verdelen over twee personen als de groente.

Vrienden hebben ons verrast bij Il Gattopardo te gaan eten. Wat een kwaliteit en smaakverassing. Genoten van de gastheer en bediening die uit eten het gevoel geeft een avond uit te zijn. Bedankt.

Das ist die richtige Adresse für Gourmet- Esser. Das Restaurant überzeugt mit einer ausgewählten Kombination aus mediterraner und hochmoderner Küche! Der Koch überlässt nichts dem Zufall. Man merkt, dass jeder Zutat sorgfältig ausgewählt ist. Das Resultate ist eine Explosion der Geschmäcker. Zudem ist jedes Gericht ein echter Hingucker. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

De smaken waren geweldig! Echt een ware smaakbeleving. De amuses waren origineel en lekker. Vriendelijke bediening. Kortom wij komen terug!

Mooie, kleine porties met heerlijke pure smaken en prachtige opmaak. En dat in een zeer ontspannen sfeer en stijlvol gedekte tafels. Reserveren verstandig. Een echte aanrader waarvoor ik graag meerdere keren naar Rotterdam reis.
