Il Porto in Centrum

You can't really call it a restaurant, more of a cafeteria. The food is fine, nothing special. Cash only, which is a bit outdated... perhaps the tax authorities would be interested in checking this out?

The fire is out at Il Porto. Admittedly we ate one decent sea bass with 2 people but hardly any side dishes for 63e. There are signs with pins not possible, if we had seen or known that at the entrance we would not have eaten there. We had little cash on us. The service was impersonal, the fish was not served. The tables are close together and when guests go outside to smoke you are also in the tobacco smell afterwards. When we left the owner shouted through the restaurant 'did you pay'?

Super delicious food! Enjoyed authentic Italian dishes, everything was fresh, tasty and prepared with care. The atmosphere was cozy and the service friendly. Really recommended for lovers of Italian cuisine. I will definitely come back!

It really is one of those restaurants that you can easily pass by, but the food was fantastic and the owner/chef was an exceptionally friendly and hospitable man. Old-fashioned good and authentic Italian. Make sure you take cash with you because you cannot pay by card.

Food is absolutely fantastic. Meat was incredibly tender. We only had a starter, the meat was excellent and nice portions, but everything that came with it was minimal, but very tasty. The pasta seemed more like for 2 people instead of 4 (shared side dishes). In addition, the menu stated that the menu outside the menu was 24.95, in this case it was 69 euros per 2 people. Paid over 200 euros for 4 main courses with a few drinks.

To my great shame, I'd never been to Il Porto in seven years in Hilversum. Until last night. And it was a fantastic experience. Paolo is a warm host and a phenomenal cook. The menu looks fantastic, but the off-menu options were a real hit. I'm already looking forward to returning soon and recommending Il Porto to my friends, because this place is truly outstanding.

I read the other reviews. So I was expecting honest simple Italian good at high prices. The food was ok. The drinks were mediocre. Prosecco should be filled two thirds, not one third like wine. The decor was too kitsch

This may be the most comprehensive review of mine ever and here's why: This is (in my opinion) the best restaurant in Hilversum, but actually in the whole of Gooi! To start with, the service is very good, the chef often also offers dishes off the menu. The cook and servers are very friendly and patient. Secondly: The atmosphere in this restaurant is also very good and it really feels like you are in Italy (I was on holiday there) Last but not least: The starters, desserts, but especially the pizzas and pastas are so far the best I have ever had in the Netherlands! What is important to know is that you have to bring cash, because you cannot pay by card. Actually, this restaurant would just deserve 6 stars!

Overpriced. Starters were alright and pasta tasted like store bought pasta. The food took forever to come out and the whole place was run by only 2 people: 1 to cook and the other to serve. Cash only payment is weird. No prices written down anywhere for the special menu. Overall, weird vibe and overpriced food.

Belachelijk, prijzen op de site kloppen niet en verkeerde pizza mee gekregen. Toen ik er thuis achter kwam heb ik gebeld dat ik het belachelijk vond dat ik 19,50 had betaald voor een droge pizza met wat rucola en ham die ik Nieteens had besteld. Met deze man viel niet te praten en heb ik opgehangen, later belde hij mij schreeuwend en dreigend terug. Slechte zaak

We waren met 4 man. Niet gekozen voor pizza of pasta. Wel voor een Dorade, Ribeye voor 2 man en een Ossenhaas en vooraf een selectie aan Mortadella, verschillende soorten groenten en Bruschetta. Alles erg smaakvol. Respect voor de rustige manier waarop de kok zijn werk doet terwijl de zaak vol zat. Geen paniek, alles OK, bediening ook prima. We komen terug voor de Pizza!!

Als je italiaans wilt in Hilversum moet je hier zijn, prachtig mooie calamaris gezien als voorgerecht, zelf een heerlijke pizza meegenomen! En gewoon weer top

Het eten, de ambiance en de bediening zijn erg goed. De prijzen zijn echter aan de hoge kant waardoor ik geen vier of vijf sterren geef. Ja de gerechten buiten de kaart om zijn vers bereid en heerlijk maar de prijzen die hiervoor gevraagd worden zijn extreem hoog.

Il Porto is alleen voor mensen met een uitgelezen smaak! Meesterkok Paolo beheerst zijn kunst als geen ander. Wat een verrukkelijke gerechten kan deze Maestro klaarmaken. Daarbij is het restaurant ook typisch Italiaans ingericht. En dat is heel toepasselijk omdat de gerechten die je hier kunt eten niet zoals gebruikelijk zijn aangepast aan de Nederlandse eter, maar echt Italiaans zijn! Kortom, een echte aanrader!

Wat een heerlijke beleving! Alles was vers bereid en overheerlijk! Vriendelijk en een huiselijke sfeer. Feestjes op onze borden dat past bij mij als styliste!

Fantastisch authentieke Italiaanse keuken. Alles knettervers en zelfgemaakt. Vooraf mosselen en echte carpaccio. Als hoofdgerecht hadden we allemaal vis, Alles was mooi puur van smaak. Bediening was ook erg vriendelijk. Een heerlijke avond en we komen zeker terug

Het eten was geweldig. Je kan echt proeven dat alles vers wordt gemaakt. We waanden ons even op Sicilië! We komen zeker terug voor de gerechten buiten de kaart (zagen er echt heel smakelijk en authentiek uit) en de zelf gemaakt fruit ijsjes (geserveerd in de vrucht). Wij vonden de prijs/kwaliteit verhouding goed!

Vriendelijke bediening. Worst gerecht in tomatensaus slome smaak.

Ik heb in tijden nog nooit zo heerlijk gegeten! Respect voor de kok die alles alleen maakt en dan ook met alleen VERSE ingrediënten, en een hart voor de zaak. Verteld vol enthousiasme over de speciale gerechten die ze vandaag serveren. Ik kom zeker nog terug ookal is het een eindje rijden voor me!

Heerlijk eten, wel redelijk prijzig.

In een woord fantastisch! Heerlijk eten met vriendelijke bediening. Je waant je echt in een Italiaans restaurant. De klant staat voorop en de kwaliteit van het eten is echt top en super vers.

Top, de kok maakte voor ons een heerlijk vegan menu en het was er nog gezellig ook dus 5 sterren!

Geweldig lekkere antipasti met oog voor detail bereid; het vlees werd apart van de groente geserveerd omdat we een vegetariër in ons gezelschap hadden. Dat zie je niet vaak, en was echt netjes. Hiernaast, mega verse vis, boterzachte ribeye, heerlijke vegetarische gerechten. Het toetje was een ongekend feest en de zelfgemaakte limoncello en de espresso achteraf maakte het een complete Italiaanse avond waarvoor we graag terug komen.

De specialiteiten van het huis smaakte voortreffelijk, zeker de moeite waard. Contant betalen, kleinschalig, Italiaanse sferen. We hebben een fantastische avond gehad.

We kwamen hier voor een bedrijfs diner. De mannen die de tent runnen zijn grappig, feestelijk en charmant. Het eten is heerlijk, perfect gekookt , ruikt lekker en smaakt nog beter. Ze serveren ook heerlijke koffies. Hartelijk bedankt voor een super dag.

Hele vriendelijke mensen en geweldige kwaliteit italiaans eten.

Van horen zeggen dat ze een goede pizza maakte maar dat het duur was. Daarom naar de Havenstraat, waar meer leuke restaurants te vinden zijn. IL Porto is een Papa Mama zaak waar je begroet wordt door de kok. Aan tafel vertelde hij wat voor lekkers hij kon bereiden voor je. We kozen een voorgerecht voor 2 ( Antipasti di Paolo ) en een pizza ( Quatro Stagioni ) Aan eind rekende we voor 59 euro af? ( alleen contant, hoewel het bordje pin betalingen hier aan de muur hangt) Men had gelijk. Te duur. De pizza en voorgerecht waren lekker. Na 2 koffie vroeg de bediende dame wilt u een Limoncello? Dat wilde we wel, dachten we krijgen dit gratis. Wat in Griekenland normaal is, en je moet een first time customer in de watten leggen. Niet dus. Voor ons blijft het bij dit ene bezoek. Leuk klein restaurant. Echt heerlijk gegeten. Goede bediening, heel veel aandacht dat de gasten niets tekort komt. En dat met alléén de kok en één dame in de bediening. Knap hoor!
