Very delicious food and friendly service. Can highly recommend the rice table with a variety of dishes. If you have a big appetite or want to share the big rice table is for you. For a normal appetite, the smaller version is completely sufficient. Gluten free or vegetarian option are also available.

Enjoyed a delicious, extensive rijsttafel (rice table) with friends on a summery Saturday evening. Friendly and convivial service. It was warm inside, but the restrooms were small and quite dated.

If you're in the Netherlands, be sure to try an Indonesian rijsttafel. Excellent service, great communication, and wonderful hosts. Authentic food, although a bit meat-heavy. Unfortunately, there was far too much of it. Verdict: Always worth a visit.

A very good address for both those who are well-versed in Indonesian cuisine and those who simply want to try it. The cooking here is truly traditional. The restaurant has been family-owned for several decades. Those who aren't so familiar shouldn't be afraid to ask questions and express their wishes. Very friendly service, pleasant atmosphere.

We were looking forward to our visit here and it did not disappoint. Good selection of Indonesian fayre. However in our opinion the rice taffel is a must. Each mouthful a treat for the pallet. This really is a treat. Good friendly service too. Very near all the sites of the city as its centrally located. Great for couples families and groups. We booked in advance on line.

Great place and delicious food. My friend has to eat gluten-free, and this was taken very seriously. Everything was triple-checked and everything was perfect. We ate from the specialty menu. Even for me, who can't handle spicy food, they made extra rice without spices. Just because! The servers were relaxed in a positive way. We had a peaceful evening with delicious food!

The Taste of the food was definitely not Indonesian. The vegetables were only fried in oil without any taste. The only advantage was that the food came quickly and we did not get ill. It also was very expensive and too dark inside the restaurant.

What a nice place to eat! We received a warm welcome and I was even able to order a complete, very varied rice table with my dietary requirements (gluten-free and vegetarian)! And it went all the way. It felt completely safe and I had no problems afterwards. Thank you for this unique experience for me. Definitely recommended!

It seriously seems that all dishes come from a store and are only heated up in the kitchen. A smart concept in itself. The food was certainly not bad, but still lacks the authentic flavors of Indonesian cuisine.

Nice place with all kinds of tasty dishes and, for me, the most important thing is that they are very serious about gluten-free and offer almost everything. We had the tasting and I got almost all the dishes or a good replacement. Had a delicious meal there. And the staff is also super friendly. If you like spicy, you're in the right place, luckily for us everything was also in a mild variety.

Had an excellent meal at Deli last night. Delicious food. Very friendly service. It wasn't too busy, so it was nice to sit down and eat and chat in peace and quiet. Definitely we will come back here again.

Friendly and fairly quick service. The food is nice, but seems to be a slightly toned-down version of Indonesian food in terms of taste/spiciness (perhaps a bit more suitable for the average Dutch person). For example, it is hardly sharp (not even on request) and the loose peppers and sambals are quite mild.

Hier heerlijk genoten van een Indonesische rijsttafel. Volle tafel met heerlijkheden en een gastvrije bediening. Alles wat met zorg klaargemaakt we hadden nog wat over en daar werd vriendelijk voor gevraagd of we dat misschien mee wilde nemen. Er werd een platsic bakje gehaald uit de keuken en thuis ook nog een maaltje. Aanrader voor Indonesisch eten in hartje Alkmaar.

Geweldig Indisch eten. Goede uitleg over wat je eet en waarom je Indisch met een lepel eet. Van te voren aangegeven dat we graag es tjendol wilden. Dit was extra voor ons klaar gemaakt. We hebben echt genoten.

I deliberately looked for a restaurant with an Indonesian rice table as I have traveled a lot through Indonesia. Short conclusion: The food was great, but the price was a rip-off. We pointed to the small rice plate on the menu and ordered it twice and then another plate for my son (11): 19.90 euros. We didn't want to be rude and let him eat with us. Then the shock with the bill: We were charged 45 euros per person for two large plates instead of 29 euros and then to top it off, two extra bottles of water and an additional soft drink ((didn't order!!!!). Explanation from the waitress: Sorry She would have misunderstood about the rice table, but we had pointed to it. We are very disappointed, we don't know that. It's a shame 😔😔, because the food was great.

lovely place with lovely staff and owner, albeit the food being a bit overpriced. Despite Dutch-Indonesian history, the dutch clearly can't duplicate indonesian cuisine. It's best to eat our traditional food in alkmaar, like noord hollandse edammer.

Nice restaurant in the city center. The food is really tasty, very complex and varied. The starters are something different. The service is very accommodating and they also speak German quite well. The atmosphere is more like a pub but overall it's ok. Be sure to reserve in advance otherwise you won't get a seat. The price-performance ratio is okay compared to other restaurants in the city. Recommended for vegetarians as around 1/4 of the menu is vegetarian.

Lovely place with great service and delicious food. We had a foreign guest who ate Indonesian for the first time. We all truly enjoyed the "Kecil proeverij" and we received the English translation for every dish.

Fantastic restaurant, delicious food. We had the tasting for €27.50 p.p. Javanese cuisine. Employees are nice, friendly, knowledgeable and take the time for the customer. It was our 3rd time that we have eaten here. We will be back!

Tried to get takeout from this establishment. The place was not even half full; yet the owner indicated that pick-up was not possible, because that would be at the expense of the attention given to the guests. People who pick up his products are apparently not guests? What if I had walked in with a group? Had I been sent away to a half-empty shop? Strange train of thought.

It's a good thing we don't live in Alkmaar ;-). Others were often found here.

My wife and I had the three course menu here and we were both impressed with the quality. We also enjoyed receiving detailed explanations of the dishes. The staff were friendly and welcoming. This restaurant is definitely recommended!

We've done this before but had to get the Rijsttafel. Indonesian food is easy to find in the Netherlands but less common in the USA, so get it all while one can. And besides how does one choose which to get? As expected it was way too much food. But we LOVED everything. Of course, we couldn't recall the name of any dish we had but everything was flavorful, nicely spiced and the meats were cooked perfectly. We eat tempeh at home but this is the first time we've had it at an Indoneasian restaurant and now need to get Indoneasian recipes. We noted that we like spicy foods when they warned us about the pepper in the soup. So they brought over two house-made sambals. These were so much better than any we had elsewhere (out of a jar). The wait staff were very helpful and friendly too. Just a wonderful meal! IF this is a good representation of what Indonesian food is I know I can order anything going forward.

The food really good, authentic, but specified to the European taste. Cooked from quality ingredients. The interior is a little bit old school. The staff are nice, helpful, the service was fast.

I can recommend this place to everyone. Food was excellent. Spices seemed accessible for the European eaters, but still with lots of flavour. I am often disappointed with watered down spiciness in Dutch Asian restaurants, but I did not miss it here. The staff was lovely. The owner aims to make you feel at home/ease and succeeds at that. Excellent advice and background information. Atmosphere was a combination of a traditional Dutch pub with Indonesian props. Menu: we chose proeverij with some recommended side dishes (ask for Grandma's spinach).

Good Indonesian restaurant that serves the famous and tasty rijsttafel. Very good 43 euro pp, but the meat is sometimes a little dry, fattier meat would have made an even tastier meal

On Saturday evening, August 6, we had set our sights on an Indonesian takeaway meal in Alkmaar. By an unfortunate coincidence, all takeout shops in the city were closed. Finally tried it at Deli restaurant. When I got there there was a 'full' sign at the door. But when I explained to the man at the door that he was my last hope, he kindly went into the kitchen himself to prepare a small rice table. Everything well packaged in small containers and very tasty. Customer-friendly and customer-oriented. Highly recommended!

Ate here yesterday, in one word, fantastic!! Very good, the rice table that we ordered was very tasty and very varied, and of course a nice Bintang beer with it!! We will definitely come back here.

Nice restaurant located on the water, both outside (watch out for the seagulls) and inside. Very friendly people and very refined dishes. We had the rice table for €23.50 with the only addition being a spicy meat dish and that was more than enough for the two of us. After another delicious cappuccino with bacon biscuit. In short, highly recommended and we will definitely return.

First i dont speak Netherlands and evrybody speaks english wich is good, the staff us extreamlt nice and beeing served by the owner is a good gester. The food is very DELICIOUS, the portions are generous and the place is really 'ice and beautiful. It was my first time for indonisian food and certainly not the last time 🥰🥰🥰

We were here two years ago and ordered the "vegetarian rice table". Anyone who likes variety and lots of small portions will be completely happy here: there are a total of 14 different smaller dishes! The vegetarian rice table costs just under €30 per person and is more than generous overall! The service is very nice, fast and friendly - 5 stars for this. Unfortunately, “only” 4 stars overall because I found that “the final flavor” was missing in some dishes. Everything was very tasty, but none of the dishes really stuck in my mind as being particularly special.

Moreover, gluten free, vegetarian, nothing was a problem and everything super combined. Also excellent for eating with children, so they can learn to 'eat across the border'. We will definitely come back.

In addition to the very pleasant service, the proofing table is unbeatable. All this with detailed explanations about the dozens of dishes that were served. The cook also showed up to ask if we had enjoyed it. Well, it had!

It's a pity that the restaurant did not let us know that the reservation was cancelled, it would have been a small effort.

Until recently we (Indos from Heiloo) went to Amsterdam or The Hague to eat delicious Indonesian food. Now that I have discovered a restaurant (Deli) close to home that is in no way inferior to the 'well-known' restaurants. Really delicious food and very friendly service!! We will definitely come back!

Very good dinner in this restaurant. The quality was there! Seeing the chef walking around and asking customers for their opinions is nice. He startled my wife a little by coming to ask her opinion but it was friendly. I was able to tell him that we were happy to eat at his restaurant and let him know that I was a little disappointed with the nasi goreng which lacked crispness compared to the method in warung in Bali. That said, it’s a very good address in Alkmaar!

Went out for a few days in Alkmaar. I ended up at Deli restaurant through the many good reviews on the internet. Well the good reviews haven't said too much. What a great thing!! Good atmosphere, nice and especially attentive service and above all great food! What a delicious rice table. A detailed explanation of what each bowl contained and more than enough for 2 people. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Alkmaar!!
