Very disappointing. The food was ordinary and the price was too high. The service was okay.. but not good enough for what we paid. We chose the chef menu 2 and it came with soy beans (basic), a soup (it was ok), the sushi had a truffle maionese and a kimchi flavour maionese that it was also served in the warm dishes afterwards (warm maionese as a sauce). The grilled fish had no flavour, the meat dish was ordinary. We finished with cheesecake and ice cream that didn’t feel homemade, it was supermarket quality. The music was loud and the waiting time between dishes was too long. This experience was too low for the high price we paid.

Reservations are required, but the food is worth it! A party in your mouth!

We like to eat here at least once a year. Always great! Price and quality are nicely in proportion. And year. Here we are again. And again it was a pleasure!

The restaurant is always busy and there is of course a reason for that. Top chefs prepare a top dinner for the customers. It is a bit more expensive than an average restaurant because you really get quality in return. Deliciously varied food, good service and a relaxed atmosphere.

Every time I visit TAO with my family we have a wonderful experience. The owner is always friendly and creates a cozy, hospitable atmosphere. The service is also friendly and top notch. The sushi is always fresh and incredibly delicious! I don't eat sushi anywhere else and when someone asks me about my favorite sushi restaurant, I say TAO without a doubt!

A real Asian experience, a very elite Japanese restaurant where Japanese influence is dominant, but Chinese and other Asian influences are also felt. The boss takes care of everyone personally, the quality of food and drink is at a very high level.

Very good sushi and Asian dishes. Also found the udon noodles very tasty. We always order the special rolls, it's always a surprise what you get! At TAO you also have a wide choice of vegetarian/vegan dishes!

Delicious food, truly one of the best Japanese restaurants in the Netherlands. Everything is perfect from the hospitality to the food, the service is top notch and one dish is even tastier than the other. We really don't come here enough.

Delicious sushi. Just a little more special than the “normal sushi restaurant”. Service is good, they keep a close eye on you with drinks and the sushi is served per roll, so the entire table is not full at once. Very pleasant dining

We come to Tao from Nijmegen once a year. And every year it's a party. The service and food are great. See you again next year.

The food here is incredibly delicious! Personally, I think it is the tastiest sushi place in Overijssel. Service is very neat and friendly. Atmosphere is also good. The duck breast sushi roll was our favorite!

We opted for chef's choice menu 2. We got 7 to 8 courses. Delicious food, very diverse but also very special.

Google says it's open. But when we arrived they said that everything was closed. And there is no table for us

The tastiest sushi I have eaten in Enschede.

The rolls, but most dishes actually, have a lot of sauce on them, making the actual fish hard to taste. The chefs menu is a lot of food, but it's definitely (too?) pricey. Staff is nice. Doesn't feel authentic Japanese, more fusion-like. They have their own parking on the other side of the road, where there were several places.

Very good sushi! The surprise dessert a real letdown (20€ for a little ice cream).

I don't understand why I didn't write a review sooner. Been coming here for 6 years now on special occasions, but now also on 'normal' occasions. It's always hit the spot and I still haven't had better sushi anywhere. Other restaurants may deteriorate in quality over such a long time, but if we have guests left, we always take them to Tao

Lot's of energy with more urban vibes than I would have expected. Very friendly servers who were attentive and happy to help us couple of guys who only spoke English. Tempura was excellent, nigiri sushi and the salmon skin roll were also very good, but the tuna rolls were clearly not fresh, but pre-made and refrigerated. Yakitori was beyond disappointing. Other than the yakitori, it was a great experience overall. Loved the yuzu salt sake!

Nobody's going to believe it. But this is the best sushi place I have ever experienced. If you have eaten here you will hate other sushi places and wonder what I ever ate before. Indescribable!!!! Fantastic! Super staff.

The Shrimp is definitely from the freezer with STPP treatment -> tasteless. Wasabi is the cheapest one which it has only horse-radish and masking stuff. Sushi concepts are too much localized to the Dutch market. And overpriced. Had to wait for 45mins from the appetizers to next sushi rounds. At the end, I lost my interests to taste the main courses. Btw, the light in the wc is too dim I cannot see clearly if it's sufficient hygiene.

Absolutely delicious food. Perhaps one of the better sushi places. The sushis are really tasty, well flavored and the crumble and the ebi shrimp were crispy and still a bit warm. So really freshly rolled. In addition, the meat and fish have a high flavor and tasted super fresh. It does cost a bit, but then you get something

We hebben net het Tao-restaurant bezocht, het eten was heerlijk, behalve dat ze ons iets brachten dat we niet hadden besteld, de service wil het beste, hoe is het mogelijk om ruzie te maken met de gasten van het restaurant, het is een compleet schok voor mij, de eigenaar van het restaurant vertelde me een zin die me geschokt maakte, beste bezoekers van dit restaurant, wees voorzichtig als ze hun mond naar je opendoen en je dwingen te betalen voor iets dat je niet hebt gegeten

This place had been warmly recommended to us but we will not be going there again. The meal started great and I can recommend the horomaki and beef tataki. The fried rice was just OK but the wait in between the dishes was very long and with very little service. The wagyu, 60€ per 100g, was horrendously expensive for what we received and was served cold which ruined the entire experience. The placement of tables really doesn't allow the waiters to see you and attend to the tables properly, the light is also very dimmed and the ambiance very loud. The lights are so dimmed that our waiter could not see the very obvious red stains on the spoons and had to replace it 3 times before we could get a clean one. They forgot us for dessert and had to be reminded to bring the menu, we chose 2 surprise desserts for 2 people each: one normal and one for gluten and dairy intolerance. The normal one was a huge disappointment with sorbets and not so nice accompaniments. The one for the dietary restrictions was horrendous though, somehow the sorbets were different than the normal ones (mango, lemon and cherry from clearly different brands than the normal ones even though they are both sorbets) and tasted like chemicals. This was paired with some fruits that were not even ripe. All in all we thought we would get a high quality restaurant but got an overly pricey experience with mediocre food that was way too expensive for what it was and very poor service due to the table placement.

Geweldig eten! De prijs is het zeker waard. We hadden het Chef menu en moesten tussendoor soms erg lang wachten op het eten. Dat is het enige puntje. Voor de rest raad ik het iedereen aan!

Erg lekker gegeten,maar niet wel aan de prijzige kant

We were group of 16 people and we took chefs choice 6 course menu. It takes like 3 hrs for the entire food journey so come prepared. We had a complimentary soup and edamame to begin with followed by two rounds of sushis, two rounds of main courses and ice cream platter to finish it off. Hands down one of the best sushi I have ever had in my life. The freshness in the preparation and taste is out of the world. Definitely worth the money.

Zeer goed gegeten maar doe me een plezier. Maak met een gordijn een 'windscherm' bij de deur. Bij sommige tafels tocht het continu.

Uitstekende en vriendelijke bediening, maar bovenal uitstekend eten, we komen zeker een volgende keer.

Machtig lekker en de lekkerste sushi die er maar bestaat!!!

My boyfriend loved tuna sushis! He is tuna addict. And I love the romantic atmosphere inside and also friendly staff.

Sushi was geweldig in het menu van 60 euro. De rest van de vlees en visgerechtjes waren niet culinair en matig. Had voor de prijs iets meer verfijning verwacht. Service was top.

Vandaag mijn verjaardag daar gevierd. Menu van de chef genomen. De sushi zag er mooi opgemaakt uit, maar de smaak viel nogal tegen. Het vlees was van goede kwaliteit. En lekker maar niet bijzonder. In een goed all you can eat restaurant vind je het zelfde voor minder geld. En het was er lawaaierig en benauwd binnen, de airco werkte niet goed of stond uit.

I was being taken here by two very good friends. The food was beyond excellent and created with expertise and passion. Service was attentive and sweet. My only complaint which isn't their fault was a rowdy, loud and obnoxious group next to us. Would go again.

Vroeger was TAO top of the Bill. Dat is nu niet meer. De prijs kwaliteit verhouding is helemaal zoek. Veel te duur voor wat je krijgt.

Chefsmenu is een aanrader. Kreeg één gerecht verkeerd (het niet eten van schelpdieren), maar werd snel opgelost. Eten is heerlijk, service is goed. Wel is het restaurant erg rumoerig, wat afbreuk doet aan de gehele sfeer.

Een kennis heeft aangeraden om een keer bij Tao te gaan eten. Dit was een goed advies. Service is goed, ze zien de bezoekers direct, je hoeft niet te wachten om bediening aan je tafel te krijgen. Gerechten zijn vers en lekker. Zeker prijzig maar je krijgt wat voor terug. In Deventer/Zutphen/Apeldoorn en omstreken is de sushi erg belabberd, zelfs bij de duurdere restaurants. Eindelijk na jaren weer fatsoenlijk sushi kunnen eten. Wagyu Steak is zeker een aanrader!
