Jaya's in Wijk 16 Havenkwartier

Disappointing experience, pure laziness in the products. Lovely people who work there, by the way. I think the food served here is truly awful. The "tuna sandwich" turned out to be simply Johma tuna salad from the supermarket, with some lettuce from a bag on the side. The pancakes were literally from Jan's brand and were quickly grilled. Paying over 22 euros for all of this really doesn't feel right. There's clearly little care or love for the food; these are products you can prepare cheaper and better at home in five minutes. A clever business model in itself, but simply disappointing for a restaurant. I honestly don't understand how this place ever got more than two stars.

Gross milkshakes. Don't buy them.

What a lovely place! Jaya's is a true gem in Barendrecht. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy—you immediately feel welcome. The staff are friendly and really take the time to help you. The coffee is excellent, and the food is always fresh and carefully prepared. The bagels and ice cream are especially recommended!

Beautiful venue, but the sandwich was too hard we couldnt chew the bread. The coffee was nice. Will come again for a second try

I ordered Spicytunamelt, but the bread was rock hard and dry, and there wasn't a hint of spice. I couldn't finish it. I had to pay for everything, and they said it's supposed to be that hard and the jalapeños are from Albert Heijn. €8.50 for a hard, flavorless sandwich.

This used to be a nice place, but it's clearly outdated and under-maintained. The ice cream melts before you even take a lick, though it's delicious, but the specialty mixed drinks aren't worth the price. This needs a professional behind the counter... unfortunately.

I got a matcha at Jaya's today for €7.50, and it was awful! I've never had such bad matcha. The strawberry was incredibly sour instead of sweet (they usually use something jammy, but you had mashed the strawberries). If you drank it, you couldn't drink any more because the strawberry stuck to the glass. Not satisfied.

Today I went with my mother to get bubble tea, but what a disappointment... We ordered two bubble teas for a total of €10, but it turned out to be a complete waste of money. The staff consisted of a young girl and an older woman, and neither of them had a particularly friendly demeanor. No greeting, no smile, just a sullen look as if we were bothering them by ordering something. And then the bubble tea itself... I literally saw them making it with tap water. A quick shake and it was ready. No attention, no effort, and the worst part? It was just lukewarm! How is that possible? Bubble tea is supposed to be refreshing and cold, not like it's been sitting on the counter for an hour. All in all, a bad experience and definitely not recommended. €10 wasted on something I probably could have made better at home. Never again.

Not recommended! Sandwiches without any toppings! It took ages for our order to be taken and delivered. For two simple chicken sandwiches. Simple drinks were out of stock, absolutely terrible!

We had a great lunch, they have great smoothies, ice cream and coffee. Ladies were neat, nice and helpful. Prices are good, definitely worth repeating.

From the outside it seems like a nice place, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. Half of the menu turned out to be unavailable. There was only one employee in the shop, along with a young girl as an assistant. We waited more than twenty minutes for a simple sandwich. When I asked for a drink it turned out that they didn't even have that in stock and had to get it from outside. So we had to wait until the girl got something from the supermarket. When I indicated at the checkout that this was not the service I expected, the employee did not know how to respond and did not seem friendly. Very unfortunate, because if there had at least been a friendlier response, I might have condoned this.

Too bad it takes so long for your order to be taken and served. We liked coming there in the beginning. Let's look for another place to have a drink.

It says on the site and on the door that they are open until 9:00 PM, you come through the door at 6:35 PM, everything dark, chairs on the table and ice cream counter empty, that's what we came for. Ladies sit at a table in the back and say nothing. Never experienced anything like this before.

This afternoon we were here with 3 people. The tables on the terrace were still full of dirty cups and the tables were dirty. I ordered a carpaccio sandwich. After an hour the 2 ordered sandwiches arrived. They had made a grilled sausage sandwich instead of carpaccio. Sandwich was taken again and then had to wait another 30 minutes. (unfortunately the table was no longer cleaned) When the carpaccio sandwich finally arrived, there were no pine nuts on it either, when asked about this, the gentleman indicated that he would inquire further and took the sandwich back. 20 minutes later the gentleman was still not back. I spoke to the gentleman about this and indicated that I no longer need the sandwich. The gentleman became very angry and rude. No excuses were given at checkout, prices were on the high side.

Very nice bubble tea and pancakes by the employees

I visited a couple weeks ago, and I can't say enough good things about this place! The staff was incredibly friendly and she went out of her way to ensure I had a great experience. If I remember correctly, I think her name was Amani, she took great care of me. The ice cream tasted suuper good and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for amazing ice cream and exceptional service. I'll definitely be coming back when I visit NL

we arrived at 11:00 am service was very slow, it took a long time for our order to be taken and also for the food to arrive. our food didn't arrive until after 1:00 pm. In between, other customers received their bubble tea, which arrived much later and we were waiting for it. After asking the first time where it was, I got the answer yes, it is almost ready, 5 minutes half an hour later, still not... customers walked away and another customer wanted her money back (also indicated exactly the same complaint), where supposedly the "manager" was difficult to get over. Customer was also very angry "manager" knows no communication techniques at all how to deal with an angry customer and only incited the angry customer. They are young girls who still have a lot to learn, but you have to teach them. And then there is some man who constantly keeps an overview (because he was clearly part of it in his normal clothes) constantly calling this on his phone, does not help them at all by helping with the service or by the conversation to take over with the angry customer, while then several customers nod and say they have already left because of this. he literally sits on the chair watching...

Went here for lunch. Menu looked fine, until you get your carpaccio and healthy sandwich in front of you. 2 small, much too hard toasted sandwiches. Healthy sandwich was only cheese, with way too much lettuce and tomato. Carpaccio also had too much lettuce, way too large pieces of tomato and then also sun-dried tomatoes with a sauce that was not truffle, which I had asked for. Crazy combination for a carpaccio sandwich. The fact that they charge 10 euros for this is ridiculous. I won't be coming back here again.

They are lovely people and the store is large and clean. My 2 year old son was tired and therefore crying. He was offered a spin on the merry-go-round or another ice cream flavor. The ice creams were very tasty so we definitely recommend this!

Delicious coffee, a delicious Dudok cake and a tasty juice. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. In addition, they are super child-friendly and you can sit in the sun.

Delicious ice cream, not your regular ice cream, but really tasty. Also very nice employees and beautiful place. Just went with the kids and they enjoyed it.

Nice place to have lunch, have a cup of coffee or get an ice cream. For Valentine's Day they gave the chicken paninis an extra touch of love. These were cut into a heart shape. Very nice and see you next time 😊

De bubble tea was niet verfrissend en heel warm. Er zat erg weinig ijs in en de tea was niet geschud waardoor het een warm drankje was. Wel vriendelijk personeel en ze werken hard.

Mijn kinderen komen graag langs. Voor de lekker ijsjes op roze ijshoorntje. Ze rijden graag op de elektrische scooters rond en de draaimolen vinden ze geweldig. De virgin blue Curaçao cocktail was delicious. Er is veel aandacht voor kleine kinderen. Bijvoorbeeld cadeautjes uitkiezen na kleuren van een kleurplaat. En de eigenaar en de personeel maken het een gezellige sfeer.

Lekker gelunched. Uitgebreide menukaart. Gezellig tentje met vriendelijk personeel en een eigenaar die hart voor de zaak heeft en even gezellig een praatje met je komt maken. Komen zeker nog een keertje terug
