Relaxed atmosphere with delicious matcha latte!

Coffee shop or is it a hairdresser? Or is the entry to a secret parking garage? Never thought I’d write a review like this but Joki is (weirdly) all three. Or perhaps it’s just a very boogie hairdresser, with excellent coffee and good parking. Either way, the setting felt a bit odd as we just came for a coffee and not for a cut and we came by foot. And I’m not sure how comfortable it is to have coffee when the hairdressers is full (which it wasn’t when we visited) and people are having their hair cut, dyed or sprayed with all sorts of hair spray. That being said, cute little place that does all the hipster staples (very cute babycinno, matcha cookies etc)

GREAT SPEAKEASY. Located in Amsterdam Oost, Joki is one of the best taco places in town. Ask the waiter for access to the hidden taqueria behind the counter, and don’t be fooled by the fact that it only advertises coffee. Yummy!!!

This cafe is located in the suburbs of Amumu and I really like the coffee and atmosphere here. Joki(蒸気)means steam in Japanese.

Nice, small Café on Cruquius Eiland, good coffee. They share their space with a hairsalon so limited space. Great find in an otherwise rather calm residential area. Tasty matcha cake and great cinnamon buns.

Already went to this place a couple of times.... coffee is always very good and I really love the cinnamon rolls. Owners are also very kind and nice

Nieuwe favoriete koffie plek! De barista’s maakt echt heerlijke koffie en er zijn altijd heerlijke snacks zoals cinnamon buns of matcha koekjes, allemaal mega lekker! Sfeer is gezellig, persoonlijk en levendig. Perfecte plek voor een koffie to go met een lekkere wandeling langs t water of juist even werken op je laptop bij het raam met uitzicht op t water.

This is such a cute place, next to the water in Oost. I love the matcha drinks they serve and the sweets are too good to skip. Love the vibe and the super friendly service! Definitely recommend to drop by some time.

Stunning little coffee shop with lovely views of the canal/harbour! Their matcha bakes are delicious - definitely recommend the cookies! Coffee is strong but sweet, and staff are very kind and chatty. We’d seen other reviews stating they share the space with a salon and that the smell from the salon was off-putting, but we didn’t notice anything whilst we were there despite a couple people having treatments done. Definitely recommend.

Reminded me of nice Australian coffee shops 😋 and they stock Bundaburg ginger beer! I’ll definitely be back

Great coffee, nice cinnamon buns and very friendly service. I also like the aesthetics of this place. The only downside is that the place shares space with a beauty salon and the smell of nail polish remover makes the impression less great.

Loved the atmosphere here! Tried flat white and it was so great! Inside they are also selling some skincare products. But don’t expect too many space to enjoy your coffee.
