The guests are a bit pretentious; it doesn't feel like an authentic Asian experience. Rather a bit whitewashed, which is also evident from the menu. The sushi was okay, but we had listed an allergy and, despite mentioning it multiple times, it wasn't taken seriously.

There are plenty of all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants in Hengelo and the surrounding area, but Kami Sushi truly stands out. The name "Kami" means divine, and you can taste it. The sushi is high quality and tastes incredibly fresh. What I especially appreciate is that there are also plenty of options for people who aren't as keen on fish. The beef teriyaki, for example, is a real 10 out of 10. I also recommend almost all the maki and nigiri. This is sushi I often can't even finish at other restaurants, but I can here. The quality reminds me of what you're used to in Japan. You can order three dishes per person per round. There's a short wait between rounds. This can be a bit frustrating at times, but honestly, you have plenty of time to eat and reorder. There's a maximum of 30 rounds, but I've never reached that number myself. Note that if you order desserts, you can't order any other dishes afterward. The prices during the week are reasonable, and there's often plenty of room. The plates are always collected neatly. You can help the staff by stacking empty plates at the side of the table. Summary: Absolutely worth it. I always look forward to eating here and always regret not having had more of this delicious sushi afterwards.

Tonight was my second time by kami. And when I booked i left a message if possible to have a candle with dessert since we were celebrating my husband's birthday. I didnt get an answer so I though this is not possible. To our surprise, with the dessert the waiter surprised us with extra dessert with candle and I found this so sweet. Also the food is sooo good l, everything is clean , the atmosphere is also enjoyable. Thank you!!

What a wonderful experience at Kami Sushi! Everything we ate was truly delicious and fresh. The sushi tasted fantastic, clearly prepared with care and quality. The lamb chop was also perfectly cooked and full of flavor, as were the mushrooms – a true delight. The duck deserves a special mention: so tender and flavorful, truly outstanding! I could go on forever, because everything that came to the table was delicious. I also really appreciated that the portions are small, allowing you to try everything without feeling stuffed. Furthermore, the service was attentive and friendly; the staff kept a close eye on everything and made sure we had everything we needed. In short: delicious food, fresh ingredients, good service, and a pleasant atmosphere.

My boyfriend and I have eaten here several times, and the food is good. The staff is friendly. Unfortunately, the owner is not very enthusiastic. Last time we ate there, the owner asked us not to order too much lamb and other meat and to leave it for the other guests. We arrived late and only had an hour and a half to eat, and were among the last guests. We had seven rounds of food, with each person being allowed to order three dishes, which I understand is normal. So I thought that comment was strange. I come for the sushi, and so does my boyfriend, but he also comes for the other dishes, which is also allowed. The sushi arrived very quickly, while the meat often took two or three rounds, and then everything was served at once, leaving the table full. It makes sense that it seems like a lot then! But that's really a kitchen error, which, as a customer, I have no control over. When we were paying, the owner started talking about the meat again, even though we were the last guests. We just let it go. We gave the staff a €10 tip because they were otherwise very friendly. Then, the owner suddenly became incredibly friendly and started chatting with us, but it was clearly a fake gesture. It came across as very contrived. Yesterday, Boxing Day, we ate there again, and the owner again came to us and told us not to order so much lamb. I find this very unfriendly; it ruined our "enjoying a nice meal out" atmosphere. We pay enough for it. During the Christmas holidays, you pay €10 more per person than the normal rate, so I really don't understand why we're being criticized for this. It's all you can eat?! When we went to pay, the owner didn't look at us and looked grumpy. A friendly "have a nice evening" was barely possible. I sincerely hope the owner does something with this review and that it gets back to him. I found this incredibly unfriendly and inappropriate. Why do you open an all-you-can-eat concept and then tell customers not to order so much?! The owner is and comes across as stingy. When we were first confronted about it, I let it go, but now that it's happened a second time, I think a review is very much deserved.

The food was great and the service was excellent. The specials are also delicious! As soon as you arrive, someone is there to show you to a table. Your first drink order is also taken almost immediately. The service is extremely friendly. All in all, highly recommended.

We ate here for the first time with several people and will definitely return. Ordering via tablet was easy and intuitive. It's a joy to sample many small portions together and try a wide variety of dishes. There's no crowding at a buffet; everything is brought to your table. We tried sushi, appetizers, and other main courses. Everything was delicious and fresh. Only the ice cream for dessert was disappointing.

My absolute favorite restaurant. We like to regularly drive 60 km to Hengelo. Everything that is served is really perfectly done and always of really good quality. The selection is also huge. For me it's always an experience and a reward. When it comes to prices, you always have to keep in mind that it is “all you can eat” and includes starter, main course and dessert in many small portions. For me it's a very good value for money given the high quality.

Este lugar carece de protocolos de atención, solo la espera de la comida a la mesa, sin mas clientes que nosotros, fueron 50 min y el pedido nos demoró 20 min por todos los problemas con la carta. Somos una familia grande y no llegaron todos lo que pedimos q la vez quedando esperando como 10 min para que llegará completo. En relación a la carta ofrecida no tienen todos los productos y señalan ingredientes extras pero no dicen cuáles son ellos y los garzones tampoco lo saben y van varias veces adentro a preguntar y como dato consideren el peperoni como un extra . El QR de la mesa no está operativo, y el calor en el lugar es tan extremo que al solicitar hielos no había, y los ventiladores no son suficientes para el lugar. Los baños son muy limpios y el mobiliario está limpio y ordenado. Otro tema que deben considerar es que los proveedores entran por la entrada de los clientes y mientras comes ven pasar a personas cargadas con productos y carro de arrastre pasando por la entrada principal. Tiene estacionamiento pero alcanzan 5 max autos y no está bien señalizado, pero está aún costado con diagonal oriente. En si, el lugar no lo recomiendo, no apto para familias porque es muy lento el servicio y las máquinas de juegos no funcionan para entretenerlos y todas las otros antecedentes mencionados.

Update: the review below is no longer applicable. The interior has been adjusted and the tables are no longer too close together. The level of food has gone up. Recommended are the squid skewer, crispy sashimi and salt & pepper shrimps. A recommended restaurant. Average sushi restaurant. Not bad, not excellent. Certainly not at the same level as Blue Sakura as mentioned in another review. Service is friendly. Tables are WAY too close together, especially in the back. Just try it and see what you think.

The ingredients are fresh, the preparation is flawless, and the portions are generous. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the owner personally ensures a welcoming atmosphere. Deze zijn simpel maar erg lekker. Er is natrium-arme sojasaus voor mensen die deze graag gebruiken, en de service is snel. Er is voor ieder wat wils, dus iedereen kan hier terecht! These are simpel but very tasty. I use soy sauce with low sodium which they have, and the service is very quick. Well, it's very tasty 🤤 which is really surprising for a cafe of this type. Came twice with my family, very polite staff, location right in the city center, 5-10 minutes from the station. The interior is beautiful, the overall atmosphere is pleasant. The food is delicious, of course there are positions that I didn't like a little, but these are purely my preferences 🙏 Also fast service, you can take it with you 🙏
