Very arrogant staff. South indian foods you can try but North indian food is not good

We went to Kessariya to celebrate my mother’s birthday — a special family outing with our one and a half year old daughter. While we were waiting for our food, she made some typical baby noises. To our surprise, a staff member came up to us and said that her noise was scaring customers away. We felt humiliated and hurt. What should have been a beautiful evening became a bad memory. We have never been back since.

The food was great. The owner Sumit is very friendly and hardworking. The only reason I am giving this establishment 1 stars is because one of the waiters delivered me fish when I ordered Chaap. I am vegetarian that is why I am disappointed.

Sublime! Best Indian food in a longgg time. All currys where unique and had their own taste and smell. Distinctive herbs and blends: wauw! Like Arnold said: I'll be back.

We have been coming here since 2023 but the 2 last visits we have noticed a significant decline in the quality of service. Yesterday was our last visit, we felt unattended and very disappointed. We had ordered a bottle of white wine that came un-chilled. The owner/waiter/cook placed it in a wine cooler with ice but the first glass was warm. At tje same time we ordered water, This came after 30 minutes after we asked for a second time for the water with the owner/waiter/cook. After 50 minutes waiting the same man came to our table and asked what we ordered because he had lost the ticket in the kitchen. He then came back saying he had found the ticket. 2 of the 3 starters then came, they were tasty but salty. We asked about the 3rd one and were told it was coming. When it did it was the wrong one. I took it back and explained, there was no excuse and i was made to feel that it was my fault. When the onion bhaji came, it was not accompanied by the dip mentioned on the menu. Soon after came our main courses. Again we missed a accompaniment, again i asked it to be corrected. When it came i was sarcastically asked if we now had everything. Not nice and very rude. The dishes are labeled on the menu with pepers, then more the spicier. My dish with 1 peper was less spicy than my partners dish that had no peper by it. The main dishes were tasty but the damage had been done, the service was not good. When i went to pay i also discovered that the bill was incorrect, at mentioning this, again i was looked at as if i was the one that was wrong. At no point with all the small mistakes did we receive an appology, and that is the biggest mistake. The owner was rushing arround playing at waiter, cook and manager but unfortunately just ended making a big mess of things

This is my new favorite indian restaurant in almere. Edit: A few months after my review, the menu was changed. It's not longer as good, so I have deducted some points.

We had ordered a bottle of wine and a bottle of carbonated water. When the wine came it was not chilled, the owner/waiter/cook placed it in a wine bucket with iced water. He did not tell us nore did he give is the option of a different white wine that was wel chilled The water only came after 30 minutes and only when we questioned him about it. After 50 minutes the owner/waiter/cook come to ask what we had ordered because he couldn’t find the ticket. After finding it, 2 of our 3 starters came. When i asked about the 3rd i was told it was coming. When it did come it was the wrong one. It was corrected swiftly but was served without the dip that should have come. Main course come swiftly after the starters. They were correct and tasty but one dish that was supposed not to be spicy/hot, was hotter than the dish that was supposed to be spicy/hot. This was our last time here, the food this evening was very salty and over spiced. Wel below the normal level that we expect here. To top it all, the bill was also incorrect and missed items and had some items that we did not receive. The staff were none apologetic and to be honest a little rude in there manners. We did try to tell them about our experience and solve it in the restaurant but they seemed to not care.

Delicious food. Well-known dishes and also dishes that you don't come across very often. It was really delicious, the service was nice and attentive. Very quiet, some loud music. So not really suitable for a 1st date or something like that

Fantastic food, great staff and service. I liked the personal touch the owner and staff gives to every visitor. They are even ready to cater food to your liking of spice level or any other special requirements.

Food was ok, a bit depending on the choice. I had chicken curry myself, but it was more curry than chicken, the taste was ok. Service left much to be desired. Stock too, after 3 episodes of blonde it was over, Heineken was also gone. Unfortunately, afterwards I saw that the undeliverable Affligen had been charged. So be careful when paying.

I've eaten here before when there was nothing wrong. I made a reservation last Friday and noticed that they were not well organized. I got a small starter after 1 hour, and had no food after waiting 2 hours. It was incredibly cold in the restaurant and super chaotic. Me and my partner then left and went to eat somewhere else. I have never had such a bad experience!

Taste was good. Had a touch of authentic Indian taste which is a little tough to find in most of the Indian restaurants here. The portion size could be better. Service was good on the day we went. However there was a little mistake in our takeaway order. We had requested another item for our add on with the main dish. Since it was a takeaway order, we couldn't check it there. Otherwise it's a good option for someone who would like to have a taste of Indian food here in Almere. Prices of the items are also quite on the higher side. Had the portions of the items been good, it would have compensated against the price.

I read the riview earlier in which people mentioned about the prices. Kessariya people are not in my frienlist or family But i visited today and the food was best of quality among all indian restaurants in almere. We also had a word about prices and got to know that the updation is going on. So getting good food and giving 1 star is not fair only for a euro. Get life guys

Today we placed an order for ‘chole bhature and vegetable utapam.’ We immediately realized that in the bill they had changed the price of utapam from 10.50 to 17.50!! When I confronted and informed that in their menu and online, the price is 10.50, the guy said ‘Oh things are expensive now and I will change the price tomorrow!’ How could they charge more than what is mentioned in their menu?! We also see similar reviews posted by other customers here. So, please beware, this restaurant is a fraud!!!

Ordered dosa and it was delivered after a long delay. And they were soggy and the batter was sour too

I recently visited this restaurant and had an extremely disappointing experience. The food was clearly not fresh. The vegetables in the curry were limp and tasted stale, and the naan was hard and chewy, as if it had been reheated from the day before. To top it off, the chicken tikka was dry and lacked flavor. For the prices they charge, I expected much better quality. I won't be returning anytime soon.

Had Masala chai and Tandoori paneer, it was a good experience and kind service.

The food is good and delicious. It is Indian food and there are customers. The only problem is that I tried all 4 cards and the device did not accept them?! This is the only place In any case, always have cash with you 💰.

Being a new india in area, it was really difficult to find an authentic Spicy india food. Kessariya is the place for it. Staff is really amazing and specially old songs which keep you around india in Almere.

This is the best Indian food I have ever had. The flavors are really good, deep and very different from each others. The spicy level is very tolerable. The service is cordial and friendly, almost like familiar treatment. You can’t leave without indulging yourself with a mango lassi.

We took chicken biriyani and chicken tikka masala. Food was okayish. Nothing extraordinary. Price was a bit on the higher range. They were humble and super nice.

Everything really tasty but dirty pipes and toilet with lots of flies. They should check and have the sewerage checked (flies in the toilet)

The food is not great and not good quality. It’s not consistent as well. Every time i eat here i have a different experience. We ordered sambar vada, idly, chole bhature, methi paratha, aloo paratha, soya chaap and biryani. The sambar vada was very oily and it looked refried (not freshly fried), so we asked them to change or cancel it and they gave us another plate of same refied oily vada. It didn’t even taste good. The idly was also so dry that we couldn’t eat. Lastly The methi paratha was not made with the fresh methi but with kasturi methi.

We recently tried Kessariya in Almere. The ambience was beautiful, peace place to go. We ordered kadhai paneer, vegetable kofta, butter naan in main course the taste was perfect, services were quick and perfect, for desserts we ordered rasmalai and jalebi and it was yummy 😋 ending up with fresh masala tea. The experience was amazing, food was delicious had a great time 🙂 Keep up the good work team Kessariya 😇

Reserved for 2 people on Saturday June 8 at 4:00 PM. Stood in front of a closed door at 4 p.m. After standing at the door for 20 minutes, someone comes. Say I have a reservation for 4:00 PM. The gentleman looks a bit surprised. Tell them that I have made an online reservation. The gentleman from the restaurant indicates that they have not finished the preparations yet and that we still have to wait. Ultimately decided to eat somewhere else. Now, if I have made a reservation at 4 p.m., I expect the restaurant to be open to receive their customers. Then she should not indicate that you can make a reservation at 4 p.m. Not so neat and customer unfriendly.

Terrible service. Unpleasant and unprofessional staff. The food took more than 1:30 to arrive … one of plates came but the second never arrived… we gave up and left the place. Never again.

Stop serving stale food please! Yesterday we went there, food was not at all fresh! Bland! Stale! We saw 2/3 customers too complaining at the bill desk about the bad taste of food. We got sick n have food poisoning now! Start serving fresh food and stop playing with customer’s health! (Service was fine as the waiters were trying their best to give good service)

Best place for Indian authentic food in whole Amsterdam. Being a tourist, I was craving for Indian food. They have an impressive food menu with amazing flavours. Whole staff is very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this place. Keep it up guys👍🏻

Delicious food, the pakoras and lamb curries are highly recommended. Fresh naan warm, crispy and coated with delicious ghee. Service friendly but a bit messy, an unordered dish arrived at my table and was brought to the correct table after 5 minutes. For 55 EUR, two starters, a main course with naan and rice, and a dessert.

The restaurant has nice ambience and near to public transportation also food is okay but we have noticed that the bill given to us is more prices than the menu prices. So be careful and double check with the bill before paying. Also payment via credit card was not possible.

We went to the restaurant with our friends, we ordered sizzlers, starters and chicken & mutton main dishes. The food was very delicious esp the lal-maas mutton curry. We will definitely visit them again.

Yesterday, we had a party with our friend’s. The ambience, food and everyone at restaurant were very nice.

We celebrated Baby shower party at the restaurant. The staff was very helpful and polite. The food was amazing too, right from starters, main course and dessert. Great place to hang out with friends along with nice drinks and tasty food.

We recently ordered takeaway from Kessariya and were totally blown away by the quality of food and its authenticity. Unlike most restaurants, Kessariya makes fresh samosas. We had samosas, Dal Makhni, Chilli Chicken and Dosas. Each item tasted HEAVENLY, the chicken was so succulent and fresh. The Dal Makhni is out of this world good!! The dosas were a delight, they came with sambhar and chutneys. It doesn't end here, their food items are so affordable and well-priced. The customer service is also friendly and they ensured we get exactly what we paid for!! We would highly recommend it to everyone who wants to try the REAL authentic Indian food :) THE BEST in Almere. Keep it up!

Last week I went to this restaurant and we had to wait more than an hour for our food. We ordered Dosa‘s and they were pretty boring. The saag paneer was horrible, I would not even call it Indian food to be honest. I really missed spices as used in authentic Indian food. I do not recommend it and will not have food here ever again. Update: I do not keep bills from awful experiences, but sharing a picture before making that horrific experience. Horrible restaurant, I did not expect you accusing me of giving false reviews.

Normally good food but this time yesterday I ordered. Naan tasted as if there was sand in it. Could not finish my meal.

The restaurant is a bit messy. Almost some kind of waiting room, not cosy. I have seen families entering the restaurant with their own drinks. The waiter/owner is friendly and nice. Item kitchen. Food is more than average quality, so is the price. The restaurant does not have wine on the menu.

Goed gegeten, en de service was top! Kwamen om 18:45 binnen zonder reservering en hadden maar een uurtje ivm theaterbezoek. Dit aangegeven en we hadden binnen no time ons eten staan.

Ondanks dat er via The Fork gereserveerd was en er eigenlijk geen plek meer was, hebben ze toch een plekje vrij gemaakt. We hebben genoten van heerlijk eten en de mensen zijn vriendelijk. Een aanrader wat ons betreft.

Heerlijk gegeten in dit knusse restaurant in hartje Almere, op korte afstand van het theater. Vlotte, gastvrije en behulpzame bediening. Uitgebreide menukaart met voor elk wat wils, alles vers bereid en zalig van smaak.

Het eten is echt super. Lang geleden dat we zo lekker hebben gegeten! Mixed grill, chicken korma en lamb punjabi (zo heette het dacht ik) waren fantastisch. We hadden 2 kinderen mee en die werden ook heel vriendelijk ontvangen. Daar waren we blij mee. De sfeer van het restaurant is ook heel goed. Enige puntje: er stond nog een kartonnen doos/oud kastje in de hoek. Dat is zonde want er is duidelijk aandacht besteed aan vormgeving restaurant en dat is ook goed gelukt.

Goede gerechten, snel bereid. Niet te duur.
