Waited way too long for an order with only 4 items....

Everywhere is dirty, all tables, floor everything

We ate inside here and waited half an hour while we were the only ones, only to get cold fries, chicken that wasn't cooked properly, and the rest of the order was inedible as well.

I think it's poor that you can't wash your hands first in a chicken restaurant, unless you go to the toilet, for which you have to pay 1 euro.

There is just no atmosphere; the food is fine, don't get me wrong, but it is just filthy. I don't think the Public Health Service will come by here either, because it is very unhygienic. The floors are sticky everywhere too.. 😴

It took 30 minutes and the food has been better.

Called KFC up to five times, no one answered. Once arrived, it takes another half hour before the order is ready. Why have a phone number if you don't answer anyway? Why give a time for the order to be ready if it's incorrect?

The wait is long and the chicken is very expensive for what you get.

Employees were not friendly; I could only order at the checkout for cash. Otherwise, you had to make do with one (slow) machine because the rest were broken.

What a mess. Staff clearly working with great reluctance and rolling their eyes when you ask them something. Incomplete orders, dirty or broken tables. As a manager, I would be utterly ashamed of this location.

I'm from Leeuwarden and she only spoke English. No milkshake again; they are too lazy to clean the machine. Last time visiting. Won't be coming back. Not recommended.

I think if I were to eat rusks, they would be less dry than the chicken.

I don't understand why there is so much staff walking around and it is just such a filthy mess. This is, by the way, the least bad KFC we have visited. A good manager would certainly be useful regarding cleanliness and hygiene. Food scraps everywhere, nowhere clean. Even where cleaning is actually done, it is 20%, so dirty. The unmistakable crispy chicken remains tempting, however. The chicken itself was unfortunately very dry.

The saddest KFC I have ever seen. Ordered takeout multiple times and what a pathetic mess. Food takes a darn long time, is sticky, cold, tasteless, and doesn't get right. The place is filthy and if you ask where your order is, they can't give you an answer. Sad place.

Wrong order, I said it was wrong and he laughed at me and said I had said it wrong, and the staff there were very bad. I am never coming back here again, worst food and staff here.

Filthy KFC. Opening hours are inconsistent. Staff not well trained internally. At the drive-thru, I get addressed as "brother" and "what do you want?", sorry? What kind of trashy gang is this.

STAY AWAY FROM HERE! Unless you like waiting veeeery long, bad service, soggy and chewy fries, and slow staff. Ordered online 45 minutes in advance and still had to wait 25 minutes after that time. The burger was tasty, but never again here.

The staff speaks no Dutch and broken English. The fries were lukewarm, and the chicken was raw on the inside. Inside, it was messy, with a lot of trash on the tables and the floor.

Waited an hour for a Zinger burger with a drink, have never visited such a bad KFC.

Always disgusting and nasty, awful management, longer waiting times in a restaurant. The toilets are 100% guaranteed dirty, so are the floor. You needs to be lucky that the self-order machines working and thats paper inside, but ai guess by poker you have better luck to win. The food is really delicious, after the extreme long waiting time. There is really a management change necessary! I don't know anybody that likes to go there, but I guess I need to include the employees too, because they are always unable to smile. I just have to go there because there is no other in the area, but than I rather to go to a restautant, just pay a little more, but at least i get good service, nice and friendly employees that doesn't hate everybody including themself. And apparently the headquarter is the problem and doesn't care at all, cause those problems are in ALL KFC's in the north! All are super slow, dirty and more than "we will talk to them" doesn't happen anyway, so its really terrible management from the headquarter in the first place!

It's filthy here, how hard is it to clean, huh? Jesus man, I really don't think this is good. It takes a REALLY long time for the food to be ready here. They just stand there staring at that little screen, and they are incredibly slow. I come here often, and the order isn't ready until an hour later or even longer, even when there aren't even that many people. The food is tasty, though, but other than that, it's really bad.

Very messy. Floor sticky, chairs sticky. Loose rubbish on the floor and staff didn't bring the food. Had to wait 10 minutes in an empty restaurant for an ice cream.

Very bad, long wait, products forgotten, and food cold and soggy. Nothing was crispy. Broken furniture. It moved at a very slow pace; hope it never gets busy here, you have to wait hours to get anything. Then you have to wait and see if your order is correct. There are few Dutch-speaking people working there. Very disappointing, KFC, not worth the effort.

Little space to sit, and benches and tables do not need to be well maintained.

I was at the KFC drive-in in Leeuwarden. I stood there for literally 10 minutes but got no response. I heard absolutely nothing, even though they were open. This is already the second time this has happened to me there. I'm done with it now. I'm not going there anymore. Ridiculous.

I wrote a review about this (what is supposed to pass for) restaurant before (3 years ago), but it is even sadder than before, which I personally can hardly believe. You order and stand waiting half an hour for your food, which can barely be called food anymore. It is cold, greasy, tasteless, and incredibly expensive. The staff do not work efficiently at all and only speak English. The quality is truly bizarrely substandard; as KFC, I would be deeply ashamed to have such a restaurant under my name. Additionally, the sanitary facilities are also (to put it mildly) completely neglected. The regular men's toilet is inaccessible as the door handle is missing, so as a man, you are out of luck here. Furthermore, the rest of the toilet is filthy; everything smells of urine and the tap is half off but, surprisingly enough, still functions. Toilets elsewhere in the building are accessible but have no toilet paper, so as a customer, you are still left in a pickle. For anyone even considering spending their money here, I strongly advise against it. The conditions in this restaurant are simply appalling and degrading.

It was 5 minutes to 10:30 PM and I was standing in front of a closed door. Online it says open until 11 AM, but apparently they don't want customers for a while now, even before closing time. They were cleaning inside and busy in the kitchen, but they didn't look outside once to see if there were people standing there. I was standing there with three others and eventually just left after 10 minutes. It could be better than this; this is very bad. Either you set it to 10 PM instead of 11 PM, or you keep the doors open UNTIL 11 PM.

The food is what you would expect from KFC, the service speed is really dramatic every time to say the least... and I don't complain easily.

I arrived at your location about 15-20 minutes before closing time. They wouldn't let me in. I didn't get any response at the drive-thru either. I find this very disappointing. If a location is open until a certain time, I expect service to continue until then. I would appreciate an explanation.

The chicken was cold. The staff couldn't speak a word of Dutch. That's not how you want your company to be, I imagine? I didn't have to wait long.

The service was fast and at a nice pace and the food was nice, just like the restaurant itself, but it was a bit quiet in there.

KFC Leeuwarden, one great addition to restaurants (eateries) in Leeuwarden, though we still miss Burgerking here. At KFC Leeuwarden, you have choices of hot fried chicken wings, spicy boneless chicken pieces, Double crunch burger, variety of chicken menu snacks, buckets and burgers to choose from. With the KFC Leeuwarden Zinger Burger or Tasty Bites, there is always room for a smile in your face while munching the yummies.

It's been this filthy for months. The floor is sticky, the toilets are dirtier than a student pub on a Thursday night, and you wait an average of 30 minutes for cold food. How is this possible? Why doesn't KFC do anything?

Well, it's okay. Expect lukewarm chicken, not crispy, and a good hash brown. The atmosphere is grim. And to top it all off, the floor is sticky throughout the entire restaurant. ★★☆☆☆

Avoid this place like the plague; you have to wait 45 minutes for an order, and then you're left with absolutely no food. This place should be removed from Leeuwarden.

We had to wait a very long time for the food.

My experience at the restaurant was very disappointing. The staff were unhygienic, and I had to wait a long time for my order. I didn't get the impression that the staff was professional or responsible. Moreover, the staff didn't speak Dutch, which made communication difficult.

We've been waiting for our food for almost an hour. Previous customers waited 20-30 minutes for one milkshake. One thing's for sure: I won't be back.

I bought a veggie chicken bucket, but I got a regular chicken bucket. As a vegetarian, I find this unacceptable. The fries were cold, and my corn on the cob was still cold, almost frozen. I find this unacceptable.

We ordered something, but it took an hour for everything to arrive. After waiting an hour, we didn't even have hot food, so I'm giving it a one star. It's just not doable.

The location gives a well-maintained and professional impression because everything is well-organized and the staff treats visitors with attentiveness. The peaceful atmosphere and clean surroundings contribute significantly to a positive and consistent experience.

The food is delicious, but the experience is ruined by incredibly long wait times. A 50-minute wait for your order at a fast-food chain is a bit long... it was the first and I think the last time.

New bizarre experience on January 24, 2026. We've been waiting at the drive-through for at least 10 minutes just to place an order. There's a huge line behind us now, and there's no response from KFC. It's been 15 minutes now, and that's at 12:40... We drove away. What a terrible situation.

Just having to wait an hour for your food is really insane

I'd pick up a spicy piece of chicken for the road all over the country because I'm usually in the car for a long time and always have more appetite than my lunchbox can hold. My last visit was right after the Drachten branch opened, and the disappointment was so overwhelming that my monthly visits stopped entirely. Then, by chance, I walked past the Leeuwarden branch and ordered a couple of portions of chicken, which I ate right away. The chicken was incredibly tender and not fatty. The spicy version was less spicy than I'd hoped. They used to offer spicy thigh pieces. To my great regret, these have been discontinued from the national menu for years. This product was the motivation for me to get my extra protein fix at KFC.

Every table is dirty, and the wait for a meal is at least 30 minutes. A tragedy.

After waiting 36 minutes in the drive-thru before I could order anything, and finally walking inside, I was able to order something. The employee said, "Just a minute, please." While I was there, three cars had driven away. I said, "Yes, definitely not. I'm already waiting. I want to order now. This makes no sense." He said, "Yes, yes, just a minute." "Well, you can't make me any angrier. Even in a Van der Valk, I'd almost be done with two rounds and drinks. This makes no sense." It's really awful.

The food itself was fine, except for some cold fries. Unfortunately, several people had to wait an hour or more for their food. The small kitchen staff couldn't handle the number of orders. Several employees also didn't speak Dutch. The trash can was completely overflowing and wasn't emptied or cleaned. The men's restroom was missing a door handle, so the only option was to use the women's restroom. I understand that it's difficult with limited staff, but it's still a shame.

I found a piece of fried paper/cardboard in my food, and the chicken tenders tasted burnt but looked normal *old grease* This restaurant is a huge health risk. The authorities responsible should close their doors. It's clear that the owner of this restaurant doesn't care about quality or safety. That's why I reported it to nvwa.nl.

Unfortunately, my experience with the chicken wings was very disappointing. Upon serving, it was immediately noticeable that several pieces still had hair or feathers on them. This is obviously unacceptable from a hygienic perspective and significantly affects my appetite. Although the flavor itself was decent, this issue prevented me from enjoying them. I expect chicken to be thoroughly cleaned and inspected before cooking. Hopefully, the restaurant will take this seriously and improve its quality control, because this simply shouldn't happen.

Honestly, it's the dirtiest place in the area. It's filthy, there's no hygiene, the food is awful, and the people preparing it are unprofessional. I've never seen such a disgusting place. There's a rat, a rat, a rat running around in front of the food. I took a picture of the rat next to the chicken. Where is the health inspection for this place?

Tonight, I had to wait 30 minutes for my food. People around me left and gave their orders to others because it was taking too long. The staff was slow. It gave the impression that they felt they weren't paid enough to work so hard, so they took their time.

Not tasty dry chicken seems reheated once but no more

I've been here a few times for food, but every time the wait is 30+ minutes. A friend and I order at the same time, and one order arrives reasonably quickly, while the other has to wait a very long time. Judging by the other reviews, nothing is being done about this. The staff looks depressed, and when your number is called, you have to stand right in front of them otherwise you can't hear them. Not fast food; a snail could move across the parking lot even faster.

The KFC drive-thru took about 25 minutes, and there were only a few cars in line. The staff barely spoke Dutch. Not recommended. I tried again a year later, around 10 p.m., and ordered two sandwiches and an ice cream. I microwaved the sandwiches at home because they were cold (a 4-minute drive from my house). The ice cream wasn't stirred, so I first had a bite of chocolate, then a bite of caramel, and then plain ice cream. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE!!!!
