You have to like having chickens under the table instead of sparrows on the table. Unfortunately, it stinks, and you step on chicken poop everywhere. The breading on the kibbeling is saucy and crispy, with plenty of fish inside. Cash only.

Simply SUPER. A typical North Sea fish truck. Everything is absolutely fresh. The German/Dutch owners are very friendly. Unfortunately, only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I love this stall and think it's addictive to fried fish and the like. 👍😉

My best recommendation for delicious food and authentic service in the entire area. Here is a place for authentic culinary enjoyment and an ambiance that reflects the true charm and natural flair of the Dutch coast. An experience, especially for children! And at absolutely affordable prices. P.S. German is also spoken here.

A very authentic fish snack bar! Everything is freshly prepared and tastes truly delicious. There are seating areas on site, and the free-range chickens are a little attraction in themselves. Centrally located right by the sea, a visit to the snack bar can easily be combined with a subsequent walk. Highly recommended!

The owners are sooooo sweet and friendly! And the food is simply amazing! For us, it is and remains the best fish shack in Breskens and the surrounding area! Hopefully, they'll keep going for a very long time 😊

Great insider tip. Small snack bar with an extensive menu. We had herring rolls, oysters, and kibbeling with potato salad. The oysters came with a free glass of sparkling wine. Very nice owner. Quirky atmosphere. You sit outside under parasols, and the chickens roam under the tables. The best kibbeling in Breskens, and very reasonably priced. €50 for two people, including drinks. Highly recommended. There was also a treat from the owner: two delicious kroepek with coleslaw and baby shrimp. Super!!!

While you're in Breskens, grab a delicious fish from this stall. No fancy stuff, just order, pay cash (!), and wait for your name to be called. Delicious! The cheeky seagulls that used to be there have been replaced by cheerfully strolling roosters and chickens. Highly recommended!

We've been coming here for over three years. You can like the place or not. We do! Fresh fish, freshly prepared! Super delicious. A special farmhouse atmosphere with crowing roosters. A friendly, elderly couple runs the small stall and calls you by your first name when your food is ready. Dutch and German are spoken here. If you're afraid of roosters or think the cute wooden baskets are unhygienic, you'd better stay away and never visit an Asian or African food stall.

Here you can find the best kibbelinge in all of Breskens. Highly recommended ☺️ We went there twice during our 10-day vacation. Friendly owners.

It's actually like a chip shop selling kibbeling. Very large, delicious, crispy kibbeling...also with potato salad. Simple but highly recommended. Very friendly staff...free-range chickens and kitchen included...anytime again.

We were curious about its uniqueness, and we thought... filthy. We paid €22.50 for two fried fish, one with bread and one with potato salad, and a Coke. We were supposed to wipe the table ourselves with a dirty rag, but we declined. The gentleman was nice, period, and nothing more. Thank goodness the breading was hot, so it probably killed the bacteria. No repeat!!! Not recommended!!!

Unfortunately, my experience with the kibbeling wasn't so good. I was really excited at first, as the stand looked good and the reviews here were promising. Unfortunately, the kibbeling smelled a bit unusual the first time I tried it, so I returned it. The second time, the smell was again noticeable and didn't indicate optimal freshness. At least I was refunded without any problems. Customer service was okay – but in my opinion, the product itself could still be improved.

Simply rustic. Unfortunately the matjes ran out too quickly. The rest wasn't so convincing but it's a matter of taste. The place there is very nice and rustic with free-roaming chickens. It was a great break.

Delicious food and the most lovely ambience with super friendly service 👍🏻, funny acoustic accompaniment of roosters screaming. (free-range, the chickens breed in the dunes and eggs and chicken are often fetched by foxes, hence a disproportionate number of roosters.

Beautiful location, wonderful kibbeling.

The bickering has an ok taste, with the exception of the crowing roosters, it is quiet and pleasant to sit there. A major drawback is making the opening hours known: on Google it says open on Sundays, but this is NOT the case. Once there, there is no paper with the opening hours and they do not have this information on their own website or social media. Really annoying if you come from far away!!!

Dirty shop. Had stomach pain after kibbeling. And the thing about the roosters isn't species-appropriate either... The Visbar at Spuiplein or the Kibbeling at the harbor are better

Very tasty squid rings with potato salad! Two portions, total for 15€ with one potato salad, very affordable in this area. Nice people behind the counter. We will be back! And the potato salad tastes homemade :-))

Super tasty kibbeling and calamari. Very nice operator. It's crazy how calm they radiate despite the many customers. . Really fair price for the very large portion. The ambience is initially intimidating. But that's part of it. The kibbeling is really big and wonderfully tasty. Not overly seasoned like so often. Absolutely not mass-produced goods. We will be back definitely.

Just a stall with a few tables between chickens, but better than anything the harbor has to offer in terms of food. Unfortunately only open on weekends.

When I read the many reviews, it seems to me that the snack bar is THE hotspot in Breskens. Unfortunately for us it wasn't. Kibbeling consists of what feels like 80% fat-soaked breading, the potato salad is a typical ready-made product. The whole thing followed me around all day. Definitely too expensive at €11 per serving.

Kibbeling looked like a donut. Dirty crust and tasteless fish fillet with the skin still on, which made you chew on a dishcloth every now and then. The ravigotte sauce was gone after 1 bite and when we asked for more "sauce", after being ignored for 4 minutes at the counter, we were given some crushed garlic cloves instead of ravigotte sauce in exchange for an angry look and 50 cents. The staff also seems to have little interest in helping you (kaolotje grumpy) and would be better off looking for a job where you don't have to work with people much. Furthermore, you can "enjoy" your bickering on site in a sad parking lot, where you cannot hear each other because 400 roosters are crowing. Very sad scene and entourage. We picked up some bickering in Den Bosch on the way back to set ourselves straight.

Es ist eine Fischbude und kein Sternerestaurant... Aber gut 20 Min. auf Backfisch und Kibbeling zu warten, geht überhaupt nicht. Beides war zu lange in der Fritteuse, Farbe fast braun. Und scheinbar hat auch niemand Zeit, mal mit einem Lappen über die Tische zu gehen. Beim nächsten Mal: Vorbei gehen👍

Our must have in Breskens. Kibbelinge, calamari and treats are simply delicious and the pretty chickens are great.

Achter de Promenade op een soort parkeerterreintje staat deze visfriture met enkele tafeltjes. Geen uitzicht op zee. Overal scharrelende hanen en kippen. Het broodje Hollandse garnalen was prima. Van de kibbeling hadden we meer verwacht: weliswaar grote stukken witvis, maar in een onaangenaam dikke, gladde korst, waardoor de vissmaak overheerst werd. Je kunt hier alleen cash betalen.

Unfriendly, unsanitary and cash only. You are snubbed from start to finish. The wooden trays, which are actually oyster trays, look dirty and cannot be cleaned. If you accidentally hand them in with empty kibbeling containers and/or napkins still on them, you will be snubbed again. The kibbeling tasted good but the sauce is a very, very small portion. Furthermore, I don't think the people who prepare the food are dressed accordingly. They wear their normal clothes that don't look clean and walk from inside to outside without washing their hands. They prepare the products with their bare hands with which they have previously touched everything outside the stall. It's incomprehensible that so many people are so positive about this.

Super liebes Paar, das den Imbiss betreibt. Drum herum laufen wilde Hühner. Das Essen war richtig lecker! Einzig wünschenswert wäre ein bisschen mehr Soße gewesen :)

Das Essen ist gut, das Ambiente mit Hühnern und Hähnen ganz lustig, jedoch viel Tierkot. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis könnte besser sein.

Kleiner Fisch Imbiss mit frisch zubereiteten Gerichten Man sitzt entspannt zwischen frei laufenden Hühnern

Es wirkt erstmal recht idyllisch mit Hühner usw.. Leider laufen die Hühner aber auch auf den Stühlen und Tischen rum, was das ganze recht unhygienisch macht. Es richt dadurch auch recht streng. Das Essen kommt in Holzboxen, die natürlich nicht richtig gereinigt werden können. Das Essen selbst ist ok aber Kibbeling u. Co. habe ich schon besser gegessen....sorry.

Sehr nette Leute, wir waren schon mehrfach dort. Immer wieder gut. Die Hüner sind auch ganz nett 😀

Ein kleiner gemütlicher "Imbiss" an dem es sehr leckeren Fisch gibt. Das Essen wird ganz frisch zubereitet und war sehr lecker. Das Essen holt man sich wenn es fertig ist am Ständchen selbst ab. Preislich absolut gut. Toiletten gibt es vor Ort nicht.

Schon witzig zwischen den freilaufenden Hühnern einen super leckeren Kibbeling zu essen. Achtung, nur Barzahlung. Sehr selten mitlerweile in den Niederlanden.

Heute mal wieder hier Kibbeling gegessen, sehr enttäuschend, da sehr teuer und nicht mehr so gut wie früher.

A true hidden gem, close to the shopping centre in Breskens. A must visit to have a great lunch break for a small price. They offer fresh fish with a smile. Don't forget to bring your cash!

Ein kleiner Gastro-Wagen, der sehr liebevoll hergerichtet ist, der zum Essen einläd. Sitzgelegenheiten vorhanden. Hühner und Hähne laufen frei herum (Vorsicht mit den Hunden, an die kurze Leine nehmen), insgesamt ein tolles Ambiente. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, wenn wir wieder in Breskens sind. 🥰

Leckerer Fisch und nette Bedienung. In der Gegend und auch dort am Stand laufen viele wilde Hühner und Hähne herum. Ein schönes kleines Spektakel.

Wir haben hier zwei großzügige Portionen Kibbeling erhalten und sehr lecker gegessen. Man wartet zwar circa 10 Minuten dafür ist das Essen frisch zubereitet. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und spricht sehr gut Deutsch.

Wie immer ein Gedicht, sehr sehr lecker und top Qualität, der Matjes ist Butter zart . Die Inhaber sind super freundlich und seit Jahren immer die Qualität bei zu behalten, weiter so. Grüße aus Düren 😉
