best chicken nasi I’ve had in this country. prepared in less than 5 mins.

My favourite is a char siu bun with pickeled cucumber and Madame Jeannette sambal on a Saturday for lunch. Great atmosphere and service.

Saté ku batata mediocre, meat dry, saus bland, pica not really pica. Service also a bit.. "stale". Pricing okay. Edit: went here again after a few years with someone else.. let's just say that the service hasn't fully redeemed itself. There is one lady with glasses and black hair who is really nice and the young guys seem nice in interactions with customers. But the blond older lady (she seems like she is one of the owners) doesn't seem to have any manners at all. Last time I visit this place 4 sure.

We just had dinner here: nasi meat, nasi vegetables, and roti chicken. The food was delicious, fresh, and very flavorful. The service was excellent and fast!

The best sandwich shop in Rotterdam... Germ Foei has become a household name over the years. If you want a delicious, fresh sandwich, I recommend this place. Around noon, there's a line out the door. Keep that in mind.

Delicious sandwiches and dishes

Ate here for the first time. It was excellent. Lots of people were still buying sandwiches around 5 p.m. I had a tjaumin moksi, but found it a bit dry. I asked for a little moksi sauce and got a very large bowl. Way too much for a plate of food. The receipt charged €2 for it. That's quite a lot. Such a waste!

I had a really bad experience today. I've been going to Kiem Foei since I was 7. Today I was there with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered what we usually order: blood sausage + meat sausage, a roll each, and then our main course. He had the sweet and sour duck and I had the salt and pepper chicken. When I asked if I wanted a separate container of sopropo, I was stopped and told we'd ordered way too much. She asked us if it was just the two of us or if there were others coming. She insulted us by saying that "normal people" order a telo and share it between the two of us. She also said that a separate container of soprope was absolutely unacceptable (while at Kiem Foei you can always order extra meat or vegetables for a fee), as we've done this before. She then said, "Who was that then? Let me know so I can ask." I don't know any of these people by name, but I do know their faces. The familiar woman who always helps us wasn't there. So I said, "Never mind." The woman had a disdainful grin on her face the whole time and walked away, saying she'd ask the chef. Then she came back and wanted to charge 11 euros for a small bowl of sopropo. I said no. I didn't look at her again. Customers at the other table looked at me and said it wasn't my fault, and that this woman in question was always being difficult. Terrible service! To the woman who served us: You're a disgrace to Kiem Shame on you. You shouldn't insult or hurt people. You ruined our beautiful day. I hope I never have to be helped by you again.

I ordered a bara with cod and got a bara without cod. It wasn't even that busy.

I ordered Tjauwmin moksi and a Javanese bami chicken. The tjauwmin has no flavor, and the Javanese bami has nothing to do with Javanese bami either. Instead of the ketjap chicken that goes with Javanese bami, you get dry-roasted chicken pieces. And the flat bami 🤨 is absolutely tasteless. No flavor at all. This isn't what I'm used to from Kiem Foei; it used to be a household name. One of the better eateries. Now it's just the name. There are better eateries on West Kruiskade. Such a shame.

Normally the food is very good, but yesterday I bought sweet and sour duck with nasi goreng twice. The duck tasted salty, not sweet and sour as it should be, and the nasi goreng had no flavor. It's a real shame, especially considering the price they're asking for it. I've been buying food from this place for twenty-six years, so I hope they're not getting sloppy. I hope I can write a good review with my next order.

Always good food here at Kiem Foei. Since they installed the ordering kiosk, it's been a bit busier at the entrance, but never for long. I've always received good, friendly service, and the sandwiches are well-filled. I'm Muslim, and when I tried to order a sandwich that looked like beef, the lady was kind enough to tell me it was pork. Excellent service! I come here once a week!

Kiem Foei has been a fixture on West-Kruiskade since 1987. I've been going there for about 10 years and I'm always happy. Chicken curry, pom, and delicious telo cod. It's a joy to sit there and experience Rotterdam.

For a quick bite. They serve small snacks but also take away surinamese chinese food.

I am totally dissatisfied with the food this time, my daughter was vomiting after the sauto soup and I am in the race, which is a shame because in the past it was really tasty, but I was satisfied with the handling of the soup.

Small wantan soup ordered 9€ I find it expensive, last time also wantan soup with bami, almost a pack of bami went in and that for 13€.!! also got bara with cod once, bara was not bara like I normally eat, did not taste good, it was because there was cod on it. Al jaren bestellen we met plezier bij KF. Vandaag hadden we twee bestellingen, rijst met eend en nasi kip. Het ging echter mis: per ongeluk moksi besteld in plaats van de nasi kip, terwijl ik geen varkensvlees eet. Bij het bellen voor een oplossing stuitte ik op nul begrip en geen enkele hulpvaardigheid. Het is schokkend te ervaren hoe weinig waarde er aan service en klantrelaties wordt gehecht. Dit heeft ons doen besluiten om definitief elders te bestellen. Voor mij is het nu echt gedaan met KF.

For years we have been ordering from KF with pleasure. Today we had two orders, rice with duck and nasi chicken. However, it went wrong: accidentally ordered moksi instead of nasi chicken, while I don't eat pork. When I called for a solution, I encountered zero understanding and no help at all. It is shocking to experience how little value is attached to service and customer relations. This has made us decide to definitely order elsewhere. For me, it is now really over with KF.

Hebben hier een grote verscheidenheid aan Surinaamse gerechten en broodjes. Kan hier zowel binnen als buiten eten. Voor meenemen is er een aparte bestel zuil. Gastvrije bediening. De roti was perfect.

... We have been coming to Kiem Foe for many years. From the golden 80s, the booming nineties to the present day. ...not so often these days, but when at the West-Kruiskade... From a canceled Geto Boys concert, Ultramagnetic MC's and other fun parties across the street (Nighttown), a skip hour at the MEAO Weena to a quick lunch between looking for records (Mid-town Records, Plaatboef, Tinseltown and It Records). To be honest, menu-wise, I have always kept my "inner circle" small here. A conscious choice because I don't need "more" here. Consisting of the always delicious Curry Chicken sandwich with pickles and occasionally some pepper. It's unbelievable that this sandwich still tastes the same as the day I first ate it. As if two chubby yellow angels, with the help of a slice of sweet and sour cucumber, are whipping up all the taste buds on my tongue. Not Tsu but OE-mami! I often take two "to go" which are already consumed before arriving at Schouwburgplein. An ice-cold can of Fernandes, the yellow one for the past few years, can be considered an incredibly good marriage together. What a combination! A gurgling, almost unstoppable burp who knows how to find the emergency exit through the nose and at the same time muffles the sound in the throat is a logical consequence. Every now and then, very occasionally, I crave a Tja Sieuw sandwich or a portion of Tjauw Min/Moksie Metie.

For years, Kiem Foei has been where you eat if you avoid the hype or if you want to eat but don't pay the top price. You can get a lot worse food elsewhere in the West. Furthermore, just walk in and eat the duck or the moksie meti. Then you know everything.

I like eating here. The food is very tasty. I did experience something strange once. A lady brought back a sandwich, which did not have the right toppings. To find out this, the lady had opened the sandwich. The person who was helping the lady scooped the contents of the sandwich back into the meat that still had to be sold and put the correct toppings on the sandwich. I thought this was very special, you don't know what the lady had done with the sandwich. Perhaps coughed on, tasted or touched. So I don't think this is actually possible. Mister should have set the sandwich aside and made a new one.

Omg, Kiem Foei has deteriorated in recent years. The sandwiches are still quite tasty, but not as tasty as they used to be. I bought a brown nasi with moksi meti here, it was really not tasty.. The nasi had no flavor and the meat tasted strangely seasoned and grilled. You really need to find other chefs, your food is really not worth the money.

What a shame!!!! Kiem Foei was always high on my list for tasty Surinamese food. But after the last time..... There were a few Turks behind the counter (nothing about discrimination!!), but I immediately had doubts about the matter.... And that was true. The food from back then is nothing like what it used to be...... Too bad!

Super bad! I ordered a telo with bakkeljauw, bakkeljauw was very dry. I told the lady that codfish is very dry. She asks me if she can add water 😅 this is very special. I then asked the lady if I could order something else, she said no! Can not! She also doesn't want to give my money back. This is available!

We have been coming here for a long time and regularly get dinner or a sandwich. But lately it's taking so long to get help. While they have quite a lot of staff! And all at ease. Unfortunately the quality of the food has also deteriorated. €17 betaald voor een tjauwmin geroosterde kip. Eten was zo weinig en de smaak van tjauwmin ver te zoeken. Heel jammer, want in het verleden heb ik altijd lekker gegeten bij jullie.

Zeer teleurstellend. Qualiteit en bediening heel laag niveau. Na 19 jaar kwamen we hier van ver uit eten omdat er ook vegetarisch eten zou zijn. De vega javaanse bami was hard en heel simpel bereid. Het zelfde gold ook voor de chaumin. Gebakken telo was lekker maar pindasambel niet vers en ook niet smaakvol. Geen creatieve opties voor vegetariērs en personeel komt geen 1x vragen of het smaakt en of alles naar wens is. De houding van het personeel achter de kassa/desk is heel ongeïnteresseerd en onverzorgd. Een vrolijke welkomstgroet was ook teveel gevraagd. Enfein, weer een ervaring rijker. Voor ons was het hier de laatste keer en niet restaurant-waardig. Als simpele tussendoortje wel aan te raden voor tijdens lunch maar niet als diner.

I have been coming to Kiem Foei since time immemorial. I have been here many times during lunch, more than 30 with colleagues. Introduced several colleagues here. I can still remember my Japanese colleagues. Went today with a colleague from Kampen. I also came here in the evening. Or pick up or with family. One of the last times I had dinner with my late mother was here. So there are a lot of footprints here!

Altijd heerlijk gegeten bij Kiem Foei maar dat lijkt afgelopen te zijn....helaas. De bara's leken uit fabriek te komen, minder smakelijk. De dawet zit ook geen smaak meer aan. De broodjes buikspek en fa shong smaakten wel maar waren matig belegd. Ik ben beter gewend bij Kiem Foei....

Tjauwmin had no taste, moksi meti meat was in some broth. Nothing authentic about it, never again.

Service and atmosphere remain top notch. It just misses the authentic taste of the past. The taste has clearly been adapted to Dutch standards. Great for the target group that cannot tolerate food that is too sharp or too spicy.

Worst and most expensive Chinese in Rotterdam. Food is tasteless, grumpy Chinese behind the counter. Ordered duck and Tj sieuw...he said it looks a little less than half a duck...there were only 6 pieces of duck...that's not even a quarter of a duck. Really disgusting..

Please people don't eat here. 2 times roti In plastic containers. Come home. All those containers in a thousand pieces. So roti with plastic pieces. And very long black hair. And the roti was way too dry. Too salty. Potatoes overcooked Review will simply be deleted. Because it is truth.

Weggelopen uit de restaurant, ons gerecht opgegeven, na een half uur nog niks gekregen terwijl andere stellen hun maaltijd hebben gekregen. Ook hadden we voor één uur parkeren betaald. Ze hadden ons gerechten vergeten door te geven. We zijn weggegaan. Slordig!!!

Bestellen gaat net als bij Fast Food restaurants, met een groot bord maar eenmaal besteld is het in no-time klaar. Broodje Dynamite was top!

Ik kom graag naar Kiem Foei als ik in Rotterdam ben. Hun kwaliteit is constant. Dat is wat ik vind. Ik koop af en toe eten bij ze, maar als ik een broodje of eten koop is de smaak constant, goed en lekker. De laatste keer dat ik er was 4 november, had ik een broodje met kerrie en bakkeljouw. Deze mix verkopen ze daar niet, maar een dame die daar werkt had het geproefd en vond de mix hartstikke lekker. Het broodje was echt subliem en die dame was vriendelijk.

Deze warung werd ons aanbevolen door Surinaamse vrienden, die er al jaren komen. Mijn moeder en ik hadden roti kip en lams. We vonden het lekker, maar niet de lekkerste roti ooit gegeten. De bediening was zeer vriendelijk en de tafels werden keurig schoon gemaakt wanneer gasten vertrokken waren. Ik had trouwens ook vooraf nog een Surinaams broodje met Char Siu, die heerlijk was en super royaal belegd. En dat voor slechts € 4,- Al met al een warung, waar ook wij graag terug gaan komen om een van de vele andere gerechten te komen proeven.

Een klein restaurant en ook goed druk.Dat laar wel wat te wensen over.

Lekker Surinaams eten, met name de saoto soep. Het vlees was ook erg lekker en mals. Alleen de nasi was erg droog. We werden snel en vriendelijk geholpen. Voor de sfeer moet je hier niet komen, want het is een sober restaurant. Voor een snelle hap is het echt prima.

Me gusta las verduras, el pollo y la sopa y ellos lo preparan muy bien. Sus porciones son suficientes. Precio razonable.

Leuk, op een zondagmiddag over de West-Kruiskade lopen, en bij de toko wat boodschappen doen. Daarna trek gekregen dus op naar Kiem Foei voor een broodje. Ik zag al aan de prijzen dat de inflatie hier ook hard had toegeslagen en dat dit een aanslag op mijn portemonnee zal zijn. Twee broodjes voor mij, Char Sui en krokante spek. En een loempia voor de vrouw. Aan tafel aan mijn broodje char sui begonnen welke goed in de saus zat. Not done volgens mij, je hoeft dan minder vlees op het broodje te zetten. Natuurlijk ook veel te zoet naar mijn beleving maar verder proefde het wel goed. Zeker met de hoeveelheid peper die erop zat. Nee, ik had niets te drinken genomen om zo maximaal er van te kunnen genieten. Vervolgens het broodje krokante spek opengeklapt om het te bekijken. Ook hier was het woord “royaal” ver te zoeken. Z hebben daar een woord voor; krimpflatie. Smaak was wel goed en het spek was ook echt krokant. Ook jammer vond ik dat de saus voor bij de loempia uit een fles kwam die van de groothandel zal zijn gekomen. Een huis gemaakte saus kan lekkerder zijn. Al met al, buikje gevuld.

Voedsel en prijs verhouding laat nog enige ruimte tot toenadering toe. Een bakje vlees kost 10 euro. Jullie zijn letterlijk een voorbeeld van graaiflatie.

More then 20 years I frequent this restaurant. I love the fact that the service and taste have always been consistent. They kill me kindly with their amazing Broodje zoutvlees, yummie!

Haal er al jaren mijn tjauwmin kip moet zeggen dat t de laatste tijd veelste zout is en die tjauwmin super droog met steeds minder groente er doorheen, heel jammer!

Wat is er grbeurd met de Moksi meti van Kiem foei. Sinds zij via thuiszorgd leveren. Jus waterig, licht van kleur. en het vlees flauw van smaak. Rijst papperig.Het is vers hoor, maar smaakt totaal anders. Kom er al vanaf begin jaren 80. Broodjes zijn nog steeds lekker, en altijd vers. Heb het eten afgehaald. In de winkel, om te zien of er verschil in kwaliteit zat bij bezorging of afhalen. Jammer maar van de moksi ben ik geen fan meer. Had een moksi speciaal besteld, vroeg mij af wat het verschil was met de gewone portie. Kon alleen zien dat er meer rijst was gegeven. Qua vlees en groeten geen verschil gemerkt. Euro 17.00 betaald
