Warung Mini in Rotterdam Centrum

Bij binnenkomst ruik je de heerlijke aroma van kruiden en specerijen, er dan van uit gaan dat het heerlijk moet zijn. Maar helaas bij het consumeren van de afhaal maaltijd viel het zwaar en vies tegen. Geroosterd kip was geen geroosterde kip maar leek net of het gekookt was in water en een rood kleurtje overheen was gegooid. Nasi zoutloos geen smaak al met al waardeloos. Wij hadden vooraf besteld na lang in de rij gestaan te hebben kregen wij op onze beurt te horen dat wij de bestelling 3 deuren verder kunnen halen🤬 wat geen 3 deuren verder was maar 4 deuren verder. Maar goed smaken verschillen. Wij zijn echte Bourgondiërs en houden van lekker eten maar dit was verre van lekker.

I am a regular customer of mini denhaag. Their saoto is delicious. But I tried it in Rotterdam and was deeply disappointed. The chicken meat seems to be ground, lots of bean sprouts and you only taste salt in the water. No taste.

Always delicious food! Sometimes to take away, sometimes to eat on the spot, but it never disappoints. Just don't find the terrace very pleasant.

Always had good saoto here in the past, but last week's (October 31) was very disappointing. I came to Rotterdam from Utrecht specifically to get saoto here. The broth did not taste at all how it should taste, it was very dark and so salty that it was simply not responsible to continue eating if I want to preserve my kidneys. Then you are stuck with 3 large saoto that were not cheap. Really a shame and I will never stay here again.

Warung mini has deteriorated so much. Really a shame! Ate there again yesterday after years! And you taste and see that nothing is fresh anymore! The soato was so salty and had a bad taste that I literally took 1 bite, just like my family! Very unfortunate

Hadn't been there in years. Different owners it seems. They need to go back to how things were years ago.

Food was good. In addition to nasi with chicken, I also ordered telo bakkeljauw with trie. A telo cod is 6.50, but with trie it was suddenly 13 euros. I think that is very expensive, I thought they had made a mistake, but not so. Last time I ordered it.

Vegetarian roti (€10) and vegetarian tempeh sandwich (€3.50) were super tasty and cheap, staff was friendly and there was nice music :)

Old meat, dry, tasteless. Bami lukewarm from the microwave. It seems like food is being recycled, it looked like someone had already bitten into a piece of bacon. Roasted bacon was also bone dry and definitely not roasted. Chicken satay the same: dry and old. Moreover, not seasoned. Baka Bana also dry very thick batter and not ripe banana. Leave food alone. It used to be better, but we will never come again. We are half Surinamese and know better. Not recommended!

Friendly employee! The saoto is tasty, I didn't like the bara chicken curry and chicken curry sandwich. They were very dry.

Be careful, it’s ULTRA filling! Here is what I got when ordering a dish + their specialty (plantain banana with peanut sauce) So as much as the specialty was good, the dish was really average or even mediocre (the fried rice in particular had a weird smell of not being fresh and reheated, the same for the meat, I'm crossing my fingers I won't get sick...) I still give 4 stars in relation to the price, the speed of the service and the friendliness of the welcome

Best bara chicken curry in town!

The food was nice but simple things I tried to order and they don't have like french fries, ice or lemon... Kinda disappointed but good food 👌

I had the yuca with the shredded codfish as starter. It was the first time I had this and was pleasantly surprised that it was quite good. It was newly cooked as well, the yuca was crispy outside and soft and hot. There were 3 sauces that were complimentary. One was really spicy, the other 2 were good. Sweet soy sauce I think for the other one. The dish was fried rice with soy sauce chicken, sausage slices and egg. Interesting but really quite good. Portion size was good for 2 people. Very friendly service. I sat outside, they had a lot of tables and seating outside the restaurant.

Warung Mini used to be one of the best afhaa Javanese honor houses. I have lived in Rotterdam all my life and it certainly used to be great. Now it is less, the prices have risen enormously and the food is much smaller in terms of portions. If I had to honestly recommend the best Javanese takeaway, I would go to Middelandstraat Warung Melatie topper of Rotterdam at the moment, prices are favorable and large portions. As an example, the goelung goelung, which are rolled pink pancakes with coconut in them, are 3 euros at warun mini and 1.50 at warung melatie, the same size and are delicious at warung melatie. Dear Rotterdammers, go to Warung Melatie. that's my honest opinion

We have been customers here for years. Ordered the same today as normal. A portion for €17 normally comes in two containers, rice separately. Everything was now mixed in 1 container. This was reported to the owner, but he did not want to do anything with it. Lost a loyal customer.

If you arrive at 9 p.m. to eat a sauto, they say you can only take away. Have you come from this far!!! And then you're open until 10 p.m. What a service! The week before the food was also spoiled. Plus asked big sauto you get 5 small ones

When placing large orders, the workload clearly increases, and you receive food that is not properly cooked!! When I got home, I contacted the restaurant (because this is already the 2nd time), and unfortunately the empathetic ability of the employees is lacking. Didn't see me again

Extremely busy during the Summer Carnival. Despite the crowds, smooth delivery of orders. The quality of the food was good. One of the better Suri/Javanese restaurants in Rotterdam.

This is by far the worst store I have eaten at. Very expensive and the proportions are completely wrong. Price quality 1/10. A 15 euro container that is 80% filled with rice, 10% egg and 10% chicken, I think maybe 50 grams of chicken. The rice very sticky. This was also the last time.

Best place to eat ever in Rotterdam

What a delightful discovery. The staff was very kind and the food was out of this world. Very generous in proportion. If you like west Indian food, this is the place to go.

We searched here on Google for the best Surinamese restaurant and this one came up. So we went there spontaneously and found a place. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to pay by card and we only had €20 in cash, which is why we could only order one plate, but the chef was nice enough to bring us two plates anyway. Overall, the food is delicious and you'll definitely be full.

Found a gem. Here you can eat good, tasty and lots of food for a good price. Don't pay attention to the exterior and if you can look around it, you can have a great meal here! We were 4 men and just had everything on the table and it was delicious!

Telo with bakeljauw was tasty. The portion was big enough and the telo was served with enough fried cod. The baked cod was tasty. No bones. The telo was crispy and tasted fresh.

You order up at the counter and they bring you your food This is the kind of place, that you don't necessarily come to because of the atmosphere, but more for the great food. We were here in February and wanted to go again a few days later for a quick grab before we left Rotterdam but sadly they weren't open yet at the time that it said online, that might be something to keep in mind. I would still recommend going though, we were really happy with the food, especially considering the low price!

I ordered 18 euros worth of food, because at comparable restaurants elsewhere in the country I only had enough food for 1 person for that amount of money. But here you get food for two for that money and it is also very tasty! 🤤

Everyone knows this is where you get the best roti and it does not disappoint! place looks decently clean and staff is friendly. My only complaint would be that eating roti can get very messy and will leave you with dirty hands and they can be quickly washed there BUT drying ur hands is another story. Their hand drying machine gently blows so softly i think its about to die AND there no paper. So I walked out of there with some pretty wet hands haha.

Truly a delightful experience. The roti dishes they serve are full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the food is outstanding. The employees are friendly and very welcoming. The locals rave about this place - it's no wonder that it gets full so quickly. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a delicious meal. I can't wait to go back again soon.

Wherever food is made, something can sometimes “not be to your taste”. But I want to give Warung Mini Rotterdam 5 stars for their customer and service focus. I had a minor complaint and was treated very kindly, both at the pick-up location where I was first and in the restaurant. I was in a hurry so I left. But I called back later that day and the friendly manager immediately apologized and came up with a suitable solution. They did not doubt my story for a second and were so incredibly friendly. The patience and time they took and all that on a very busy evening. A big compliment to all the employees I saw and spoke to there. Top

Great Suriname food and service

I don't like reviews at all, but I think this is a scam and I have to say that because the restaurant itself does not take my complaint seriously and did not respond to my personal message to them. On March 10, 2024, I bought food from your store at number 47, and received very old meat on my tjaumin. All the pork (cha siew, fa chong sausage, for nam bacon) was all at least a few days old and had been reheated more than once, which made them very dry and not crispy and had a strange smell... The cha siew even had an even more unsavory odor because it was in a mild state of deterioration. They looked like leftovers! I was shocked by this and find it unacceptable that you treat your customers this way. I have been a customer of Warung Mini for years. Your sandwiches are always top notch and the quality of food has seen better days, but if this is the current quality of food that you knowingly serve/give to your customers for takeaway, then this will be the last time I visit Warung Mini. have visited. The tjaumin itself was also tasteless and uninspired. On the day itself, I sent an email to you for information via your website, but now more than a week later I have not received a response from you, so that is reason enough to share my experience publicly. People, be warned! Warung Mini has the name, but it's not what it used to be. Save your money and energy, there is better and tastier Surinamese food available elsewhere in the city!

I got moksi meti here today but it was very disappointing. So little meat and a lot of noodles. For the price you can also expect plenty of meat. Not to be repeated.

Surinamese canteen with Indonesian influences. The dishes are not bad but not typical of Surinam or Indonesia. Order at the counter, very fast service and low prices, the quantities are enormous.

Had a very positive experience at Warung Mini. The price-quality ratio is very fair. The saoto soup is definitely recommended. There is also a very friendly atmosphere in the restaurant. The only downside was the long wait until a free table became available. Of course, the restaurant cannot do much about this. I will definitely come by again!

Sauto soup is more of a bowl of colored and overly salty water, little to no broth flavor, luckily with the sauto soup ingredients... Sauto from Warung Mini The Hague is great

Had dinner at Warung Mini in Rotterdam today and it was quite disappointing! First of all, the service; After ordering and paying, the food took 35 minutes to arrive... While several guests who came in after us were served earlier (!?) We had to pull the proverbial jacket on the staff three times before they responded. Then... the food: ordered 2x moksi meti, so with chicken and pork. The ratio of meat (relatively little) and Nasi/tjauw-min (a lot) was already noticeable, as was the meat. The chicken was OK but the pork consisted of sliced ​​smoked sausage(!). Technically speaking, this is indeed pork, but certainly not the type and quality that I have come to expect from a good Moksi Meti. And... I saw almost no Surinamese eating in the shop... Could that perhaps have been a sign? All in all, a very disappointing experience :-( Do you want delicious Surinamese food and quick service? Fortunately, there are plenty of alternatives in Rotterdam!

My parents are from Guyana. We kids were raised in Guyana, and Antigua. I absolutely love Surinamese food. Takes me back to my childhood. My tour guide advised me this restaurant out of many. It did not disappoint. If I ever visit again I hope to try the fried rice. Today I had the chicken roti. It was perfect, and affordable.

Great place to eat roti, I can recommend the chicken fillet version. It’s not the most romantic place but the food is good.

I ordered saoto but I only have but received bean sprouts. Ordered a large portion but 70% of the filling is bean sprouts. Prices have increased considerably, but they also cut back on the dish. Why? Keep it up, good job! Quality over quantity!

Ate 3 sandwiches, of which 1 pom sandwich, 1 x chicken curry and 1 char siu sandwich, wanted all the trimmings. Missed the real Chinese Surinamese flavors of it. Spicy of the Surinamese sambal, sweet and sour was not great. Tjauw min moksie metie was also not what expected, very poor in terms of meat types and taste. A pity. Still back to my regular Surinamese places where it is tasty and lots of it.

My favorite place in Rotterdam to eat a vegetarian roti. Tasty, fresh, never have to wait too long and yet it is always busy. Roti comes with stewed cabbage, various other vegetables, just the right potatoes and well-fried tempeh. And at my own request with an egg as an extra. Good suri sambal. Recommended on the Witte de With!

Hands down the best saoto i’ve ever had here, atmosphere is great and staff is very friendly. However its always very busy so you might experience some wait times.

I think this is a roffa gem. You don’t have to pay €25 to get a full plate here, which I truly love. I’ve tried multiple dishes and they are all very tasty. The interior is small but always busy, which I think also has a charm to itself. I love taking my friend’s here and sharing this experience with them :)

Al voordat ik in Rotterdam kwam wonen eet ik mijn soato soep hier ( bijna 20 jaar) Nog steeds vind ik de soato, de lekkerste van heel Rotterdam. Service is top voor mij is het of ik bij mijn familie ga eten.

Always wanted to try Surinamese food and this was one of the highest rated places so had to try it out. The Moksi meti sounded really nice which is roasted pork and chicken with vegetables and white rice. I ended up taking the normal of this. Nice flavor here too. They also gave 3 sauces on the side, I think one was soy sauce and I'm not too sure on the other 2 but one was super super super spicy and really caught me off guard. But I recovered so it was fine. Then got a Dyna Surinam sandwich. This was nice flavorful sandwich with cucumbers on top. Also you order at the front and then they bring the food to your table, that's the ordering process.

Best Surinamese food ever!? Cannot stress this enough, I love Surinamese food but you cannot always find good Surinamese food but here, it’s too good, also affordable, I got the vega one that is basically vegan, the tofu wasn’t my favorite but the tempeh with the bami was amazing!!

Comida típica surinamesa estava maravilhosa! Apesar do local ser super concorrido, tivemos a sorte de conseguir mesa para 4 pessoas quase que de imediato. Atendimento cordial e a comida veio super rápido. Adorei a experiência. Recomendo.

Lekker gerechten die ze serveren. De nasi kip is echt een aanrader en de Bara vind ik top. Alleen moeten de eet tafels uitbreiden, want je zit krap tussen met bezoekers.

Normaal neem ik de saoto soep, maar nu de wonton soep. Ik vind stukjes gebakken varkensvlees in de soep niet lekker en het vlees in sommige wontons smaakten zurig. Dus let hier wel op. Bouillon is ok.

Na jaren weer eens geweest bij hun. Jaman. Die broodjes pom ga je nergens zo lekker vinden. Bakkeljouw is bakkeljouw. Is zoutig, smaakt goed en er Worst voldoende in je brood gezet, Gastheer en gastvrouw zijn aardig en vriendelijke. Mij zien jullie gauw weer TIP! IK KOM VAAK NU, SAOTO SOEP IS ECHT JULLIE HARDLOPER. MAAK DIE BAKJES SABEL/KETCHAP/UIEN SAMBAL "kleiner" veel waste hebben jullie. Is zonde. Na gebruikt gaat het de bak in. Op jaar basis veel bespaart. Succes!
