KuierKos in Wijk 00 Bloemendaal

There's nothing quite like good old-fashioned South African customer service. We walked into the store and immediately felt like we were exactly where we belonged. The store may be small, but as the saying goes, dynamite comes in small packages. Their food, both cooked and uncooked, is a straight 10. The baked goods are incredible—moist and spot on. I might just have to make the 3 hours drive from Germany at least once a month to enjoy it all over again!

I used to love their koeksisters. They were very disappointing in my most recent order. Very soft and minimal flavor. Unfortunately Kuierkos did not offer any sort of assistance when I let them know about this, and this was for a special occasion. Very disappointing, especially for that price.

Walking into Kuier Kos, I felt like just another Rue, but by the time I walked out, I was le Roux—a transformed and deeply satisfied human. From the moment I stepped inside, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, as if the place had been expecting me all along. Let me tell you about the steak and kidney pie: it wasn’t just food; it was an experience. Each bite tasted like "more," but alas, my belly simply couldn't manage it. Perfectly seasoned, hearty, and filled with comfort, this pie alone is worth the visit. Before leaving, I grabbed some biltong to go, and let me tell you—it’s dangerously good. I had plans to stretch it out over a few days with my partner, but honestly, the self-control might not last. All in all, Kuier Kos is an absolute gem. From the food to the friendliness, everything about this place feels like home. If you’re looking for a spot that feeds both your stomach and your soul, this is it! Highly recommended.

What a treat to have this lovely shop and its lovely owners in the Netherlands! Always happy always friendly. Regarding the food - we haven't bought an item which we won't buy again. In short, the staples in our house are 1- thin boerewors, 2- rusks, 3- malva pudding and 4- droëwors.

My husband and I decided to take a drive and visit Kuierkos, it was amazing!. From the warm welcome to the delicious goodies we tried. Definitely a must visit, it reminded me of the warmth and friendliness of home.

Such a gem to visit as South African! The atmosphere and hospitality is incredible and the boerewors we purchased was amazing!

I haven't felt more at home in years ! From the food to the service, this awesome shop has everything you might need with a traditional ZA spin. Fresh baked traditional foods are available while you are chilling ! Rusks with Coffee or a Red cappa (check) Range of biltong and boerewors (check) Spar-letta fizzers and Creme soda (you know it !)

We felt welcome and special from the moment we entered until we left. Great place to go if you're homesick and long for South African flavours and friendliness! Such good service and wonderfully delicious carrot cake. Bought Bobotie pies to take home and they were also the best!! Definitely worth a next visit!

If I could give more then 5 starts I would! I ordered 2 milktarts in short notice, not only did they happily deliver, it was the best Milktart I have ever tasted! The staff in the store were so friendly and professional, I immediately felt at home there... Well done to the team, you guys can be super proud of your establishment. Cant wait to go back for more!

As a Saffa living overseas with no other South Africans around, I am missing the rugby spirit. I ordered some biltong on Monday with the hopes it would arrive in time... And it did! KuierKos made my game day and I can't explain how much I appreciate the care and effort they put into their business. Baie baie dankie julle 🙏🏻

I’d give KuierKos a 3.5 if I could. We watched the Rugby at the Haarlem Rugby club yesterday (Sunday) and food was provided by KuierKos. However the only choice (leaving people pretty forced to fess up) was a highly expensive Boerewors roll. I don’t believe it’s just me who believes paying €7 for a piece of bread and a small sausage is absolute madness 👀👀👀 The price for the biltong was high as well but possibly a bit more understandable since it’s more considered a delicacy here. Run to Albert Heijn (also considered an expensive store) and you’ll find wholesome salmon/prawn bowls going for the same price. The people were lovely and friendly and I totally get the whole South African nostalgia but good grief don’t milk it. 😅

Amazing food, friendly staff but the store is expensive, particularly for items made in the Netherlands with local produce (like their koeksisters) My biggest gripe is that the pricing in the store is not transparent, the prices displayed are not always what is charged. When ringing up your purchases, you don’t see the cash register screen for the cost of each item, and receipts have never been offered in the 4 times I have bought there ( I’ve been too embarrassed to ask) . When informed about the final cost, it’s usually a bit of a shock and I leave feeling cheated when buying here.

We made a special trip to visit Kuierkos, and … wow … we were super impressed!! The food, coffee and hospitality were amazing. We enjoyed the lamb pies (full of great meat and flavor!) and boerewors sausage rolls for lunch. The dessert - melktert and peppermint crisp tartlets - was amazing and 100% authentic! During the next days of our Netherlands trip we continued to enjoy the excellent biltong, droëwors and beskuit (rusks). Thank you Marnella and team, for giving us a special taste of South Africa!

Small shop packed with South African goodies. Amazing lamb curry pie, boerewors, cheese griller wors and biltong. They also have a big South African wine selection.

I am Namibian living in Germany. During my vacation in the Netherland, I dropped by KuierKos and oooh what an African welcome we got there! Exceptional!!! I felt at home again right there in the shop as all the staff are soo friendly. I got all my basic African products. Rusks, Millie meal, drinks and ooh the most delicious Boerwors. Kuierkos has really good coffee, great freshly baked cakes and a good selection of pies, South African boerewors / sausage and sweet treats and puddings. The wine Selection from South Africa is great. The owners and staff are very friendly and my kids love going there (they always get a sweet great from the owner). Some great dining options as well

Baie vriendelike mense. Locatie vir my nie so great om eerlyk te wees sal liewer sien hul maak n plekkie oop bietjie nader aan den haag 😉 maar 100% die moeite werd. Ons gaan onsself ooreet die naweek dankie Baie lekkerr.

Amazing... Can't wait for Christmas! We picked up a whole Gammon, Lamb shanks, multiple cakes for Christmas. Then while in store, we added pepper steak pies, cottage pie and chicken pie to have beforehand and they were incredible. I will be placing another order and highly recommend.

Great shop for South Africans or people who have been to / lived in SA. The wines, biltong, meals and meats, as well as the fizzers, sweets and various tummy tarts - everything is absolutely delish! Awesome place.

A definite must for all South Africans living in the Netherlands but also anyone looking to experience a small sample of South Africa foods and drink. They are a speciality store that sell some imported wines, drinks and snacks. Furthermore the family owned shop works hard to prepare fresh South African meals and products available in-store or for delivery. The owners are always present and do everything they can to satisfy the wishes of every customer. I would highly recommend a visit to KuierKos.

Good location with parking on both sides of the road. They have a small restaurant and a shop where you can buy south african food and drinks. We bought wine, biltong, tea and a few other groceries. We also had coffee and carrot cake. They offer the "most wanted" South African products.

I always buy Biltong which is excellent and yum. My son loves this place as he always gets a sweetie from Marnella 🤣. Their Milktart is awesome, it's so good that the Politie should be there as it's a crime being that delicious 🤤 Thanks team KuierKos
