Very child-unfriendly, even though everything around it is focused on children.

It was a nice place to sit, and breakfast was delicious. Fresh croissant, tasty yogurt with granola. Excellent. The only downside is that you expect it to be child-friendly, but it isn't. There are no toys at all. I also wanted to give my 10-month-old baby a sandwich, which wasn't allowed (even though we'd ordered enough drinks: 4 breakfasts, 6 drinks). I thought it was ridiculous that I wasn't allowed to give my baby his own sandwich. I bought a banana to compensate; it's the idea that this isn't allowed that bothered me. In short, we won't be coming back here with children. Tip: make sure there's a play area so the kids can play there and you won't trip over the toys (that was the reason given). Other child-friendly lunch spots offer this too, so why not here (space-wise, it doesn't seem like a problem at all).

It's unbelievable that you're sitting in the middle of a nursery that's supposed to be child-friendly. Did they take away all the toys because they were getting too difficult to serve? A mini apple juice with two drops. The way they treat you was truly arrogant. I'll never come here again, which is a shame because I wasn't there every two weeks.

The service is not great, you have to wait a long time before someone comes to you.

It's such a perfect place, but the service is always terrible! Truly awful, long waits, no attention, unfriendly—truly incomprehensible. Time for a new owner; they could make something fantastic out of this. Such a shame, really.

We’ve been regulars at this café and appreciate the effort to promote ethical and sustainable values. It’s a lovely space for families, and our kids enjoy coming here. That said, it’s disappointing to see a basic kids’ ice cream priced at €2.75 — almost double what similar places charge (€1.50). For a café that positions itself around community values, this feels out of step — especially given how many families frequent the place. We hope the pricing can be brought more in line with those values. Supporting sustainability shouldn't mean overpricing simple joys for children.

It used to be a nice place with a good atmosphere and decent food, but it seems like they're constantly cutting back on even the most basic things. The menu is bland and exorbitantly expensive, the waitstaff is arrogant, and the atmosphere is simply gone. Perhaps it's time for a new, more dynamic owner. Because this is a real shame. A waste of a great space!

Very soulful place, cool playgrounds nearby. However, the food is not tasty. Only tosti are perfect. French fries are too salty, cake is too sweet, ice tea is sparkling and not tasty. Too bad.

A beautiful place with potential. The effect deserves some attention. The food is certainly not a taste sensation and is served on cardboard plates. For this price you would expect more. Shame.

It was a nice place to hang out with the whole family when they were kids-friendly, I did not mind the long wait and mistakes in the order as much. But now they decided to be an anti-kids cafe (and I don’t exaggerate, you really risk being patronised if your kid dares to behave like a kid), which is weird because they are located in a park a lot of people visit with their kids. I understand if they were to change their concept and service completely, but it’s still the same simple cafe and they still forget to bring the complete order or mess up the bill etc. Completely not worth to visit for us anymore, maybe only for take away drinks…

Do not recommend to go there with small kids who cannot behave, otherwise staff will give you multiple remarks about kids behaviour and at the end propose you to go and play outside. If they want to become a cafe for adults, they should improve quality of food first. If they want to continue being kids friendly cafe, maybe to hire kids tolerant staff first. I liked this place, but with new concept I would rather go to other lunch place in Haarlem.

Alternative interior for the enthusiast

Nice idea for a greenhouse, nice with all that wood and plants when you enter. Playground for small children. Guests were asked several times to keep your children at the table or in the play corner... which is understandable. But it was said so often that it started to irritate me. I don't recommend French toast. Sooty snack with a few berries, honey and icing sugar. This was the first and last time for us

The place is cozy and you can sit comfortably here. The plan was to have a drink here today and then we would go for a sandwich. The nut tea was very tasty. However, it took 25 minutes before the coffee and tea were served. With this knowledge we left the sandwiches. If it was busy I would have understood, but there were only a few other people. Too bad, because both the surroundings and the place itself were pleasant.

Good menu range with breakfast until 11.30. There is also a small kids menu. There are toilet changing facilities and a small shopping area with a kids corner in the cafe. There is a nice playground nearby with seats open in the summer.

We wanted to have breakfast there with two families and there were a few seats available, but we were treated very unfriendly and they only gave us a table for four. The water for our daughter was not brought. After the cappuccino we left again. It's a shame ☹️

Came here for coffee, stayed for lunch! This is a great little hideaway, very peaceful and the perfect way to end a holiday weekend. Joeri wins "best barista" but all the staff were very friendly. Will definitely come again!

Best place in Haarlem for a delicious breakfast or lunch with or without children surrounded by greenery and green initiatives. And the most delicious oatcakes.

Delicious pastries in the nursery cafe. And great with kids. Gnome path, playground, nature playground.

I was really pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Super healthy and tasty, and love that it’s catered towards kids. Will be back.

Enjoyed a drink in the sun, very nice service and certainly not expensive. And on top of that there is a wonderful display of flowers. Just go and enjoy the peace and quiet in beautiful Haarlem.

Spacious location, great for spending time with toddlers and preschoolers. Menu has also been adjusted accordingly. Nice detail: you can continue to refill your tea for €1.50. Sounds logical, but I haven't seen it anywhere else before!

Today we decided to play a board game while enjoying a coffee. The place was well equipped with large tables. I ordered a Flat White and this is exactly what I got (most coffee places serve anything from a cappuccino to a cafe latte). We also decided on some food like muffin, apple pie and a brownie which were very tasteful and some of them gluten and lactose free. All in all, yay 🎉 for Kweekcafé!

Wonderful location in the middle of the popular Klecerparkkwartier. Playground and aviary around the corner. Excellent kitchen with beautiful items on the menu, great opportunity behind it, which is furnished as a very large lazy area with chairs, tables, etc. No wonder this is a paradise for couples with small children who run around enthusiastically. Highly recommended.

Cozy place. Coffee with banana muffin was fine, staff nice and attentive. A bit alternative, but totally good.

Nice place to go with children. Excellent coffee and cake. But the service is really special; not interested, sometimes it takes 45 minutes before they come to take the order and when you (friendly) want to order at the bar they say: I will come to your table in a moment. And then wait another 30 minutes. 😅 Tip: only come here if you really have all the time in the world.

I really love the pita pulled pado, I get it almost every time. It's lovely to sit outside when the weather is good. Inside can be cosy as well but usually there's a lot of loud kids running around.

Heerlijk rustig plekje in de stad

Niet gegeten maar zakelijk evenement en dat was een prima locatie. Het was mooi weer dus wel warm in de kas.

Maandelijkse markt met oa biologische produkten. Mooi initiatief, zoals eveneens de bedrijven die er zitten

Het is altijd leuk en gezellig om hier te komen. Het eten is echt altijd heerlijk en de omgeving is mooi en rustgevend

Schöner Ort mit leckeren Snacks. Ein toller Stop mit Kindern und der anschließenden Spielplatz ist auch super für kleine Entdecker.

Een leuke gelegenheid om in de Haarlemse Kweektuin iets te eten of te drinken na een wandeling door deze bijzondere tuin.

Mijn favoriete plek in Haarlem met de beste flat white en andere heerlijke drankjes (probeer de kurkuma latte) en lekkere cake en taart en lunchgerechten (pulled paddo is mijn favoriet). Fijne bediening en met mooi weer een terras buiten!

I give them more than one star for the location, but I’ve become very disappointed in the staff. They’ve repeatedly been rude to parents and kids. Not all, but a few key employees working there simply have a bad attitude. It’s a shame, because the location is quite unique.

As a local and frequent user of this cafe, I couldn't give less then 3 stars as it is a useful and well-located spot. However, I would be careful over some members of staff and their attitude towards customers and children n.b. the cafe has lots of provision for children so you assume they would be used to having them in. Every time I take my two year old in, we buy something for both him and myself and don't take up a lot of time. However, yesterday a member of staff approached us and said, 'I have been watching you and you are not supposed to feed your child with your own food.' For clarity, the food in question was a small pot raisins or a couple of slices of cucumber. My child has 17 allergies, so being in charge of his food is vital. When I explained this to the member of staff, she challenged me on 'what exactly are his allergies?' with a disbelieving tone. It doesn't matter what his allergies are. He is my child, I'm a customer, you should believe me. I was so shocked at her behaviour and attitude that it was only later that I realised I should have told her how, on several occasions, Kweekcafe fed my child their 'vegan banana cake' that contains egg. My child is allergic to egg, but thankfully not to the stage where the outcome could have been a lot worse than it was. I would highly recommend the staff at Kweekcafe tackle their own attitudes and lack of interest in their allergen menu before their customers who just want to keep their children happy, healthy and entertained.

Mooie historische tuin en gebouwen. Plezier om hier te zijn. Speelplek voor kinderen aanwezig. Kassen met groente en plaatselijke producten. Hout werkplaats waar gebruik gemaakt wordt van Haarlems gekapt hout. Leuk om allemaal te bekijken voor jong en oud

Ik kom hier al jaren om met klanten te overleggen en goede koffie te drinken. Vriendelijke mensen op een prachtige locatie in de stad en het groen.

Lekker eten. Leuke ruime kas waarin je lekker kunt zitten. Zelfs een hoekje voor kinderen om te spelen waar je als gaat zonder kinderen geen "last" van hebt.

Случайно нашли это кафе, остались под впечатлением! Вкуснейший кофе, десерты и травяной чай. Весь интерьер из прошлого, много интересных растений, а на улице разные красивые попугаи. Ребёнок в восторге, родители счастливв :)

Cosy spot with a nice garden and playground for the kids. A basic tosti cheese for €5,50 of course overpriced, but expected for the hipster place it is. Not too busy yet this time of the year, friendly staff.

Personeel was heel vriendelijk en het eten was heel lekker. Er worden ook leuke milieuvriendelijke cadeautjes verkocht. Er waren verschillende vegan lunch opties en drie soorten vegan taart die allemaal heel lekker waren. Ook de rozenbottel limonade was heerlijk.

Altijd leuk in de kweektuin. Het café is leuk voor de kinderen. Hun speelgoed is nu wel erg sleets en kapot, dwz aan vernieuwing toe

Het eten en drinken hier is super lekker! Daarnaast ben ik snel en onwijs vriendelijk geholpen. Het personeel is super attent! Een van mijn beste horeca ervaringen. Ik kom hier zeker vaker terug :)
