A very nice Chinese restaurant. We walked in to ask for a table. We were allowed to take a seat and were shown the menu almost immediately. After we had ordered, we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. The portions are perfect, not too big, not too small. The food was tasty. There are many options. For instance, we started our dinner with fried banana, which is actually listed as a dessert. The fried banana was very tasty, by the way, and paired well with the honey. The staff speaks very little Dutch, though. They seem to understand Dutch, but respond curtly. That is not because their service is bad, but because they don't understand everything. At least, that is what we think. They are lovely people with certainly good service. It was worth the visit!

You arrive politely at an empty terrace wanting to start with a Coke and Corona, well, no hi, good morning, or how can I help you... and an offended look when you say you only want a drink... then you are served, after a while it is placed on the table for you, they walk away without saying a word, other customers get prawn crackers on the house, and are greeted politely... a bit like judging a book by its cover! Absolutely not worthy of sitting in this beautiful spot in Maastricht.

Food was good, not spectacular. Char siu was quite dry, but not bad. Spicy is not spicy. It's European Chinese. Maybe a bit on the expensive side. Staff was nice.

Additionally, the staff is incredibly friendly, polite, and dedicated. Everyone works hard, is very attentive, and makes sure you feel welcome. Very good Chinese food (coming from a Chinese myself)! Would def come back again when I find myself in Maastricht. Try the charsiu, it's really yummy. But all 3 dishes that we ordered were all good and fresh! Ps: aircon inside for when the heatwave hits the country again.

We sat down on the terrace with a group of 7 to enjoy a drink, but unfortunately, we were ignored by the staff three times. Eventually, we moved to another terrace.

We had a delicious meal before going to the Vrijthof for André Rieu. Good and fast service. Also, very comfortable chairs on the terrace.

The dishes are truly delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. We tried several dishes (stir-fried chicken, beef with vegetables and peanuts), and everything was perfectly balanced, with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is calm and pleasant, perfect for a break in the heart of the city. You almost feel like you're in Asia, somewhere between China and Singapore, with a truly authentic touch. The service was quick, efficient, and discreet. A great place in Maastricht if you're looking for a quality Asian restaurant. I highly recommend it! 👍

I visit Maastricht often from the US and have never tried this place until last week. Excellent service and great food. The folks that own this place have been in business for a long time and they know how to create a great atmosphere. Needless to say I will be back probably next month. Big thank you . Okay as promised an even more current review. My 17 year old grandson Keaton and me dined here again late.Keaton then requested we eat there the following night which I was very in favor. .An update. I was in Maastricht during Carnival 2026 with family and friends. Had a table for 7 . Another great meal. The food is top shelf and its a long time family run place. They are great folks.

I have been wanting to write a review about this place but I keep forgetting; I’ve probably been here 10 times, and it’s always excellent. This business has been in the same spot for decades, and the workers take a lot of pride in what they do. The food is always great, with good fresh ingredients and interesting flavors. The location is perfect, right off the main market plaza. Really nice atmosphere. You can get what I would call “westernized“ food like sweet-and-sour dishes or popular noodles and rices. Awesome soups too. But there are also some things available that are closer to real Chinese cuisine. Just look at the menu closely or ask the waiters, they will help you out. Sometimes you can see Chinese families eating there with family style dishes that are clearly “off the menu”. Maybe it is worth investigating those. All in all, I recommend it.

Great attentive staff, we didnt wait for a table and were seated inside on arrival. The staff were quick to take our order and we were disappointed that the duck wasn't ready and we ordered the crispy chilli chicken instead. It was more a sweet and sour chicken as the chilli was absent. A shame as the dish was good.

I sat here because it was sunny. The food isn't good, it's quite simple and bad... I had tomato soup, it tasted like a carton of warm tomato sauce... Horrible. Two spring rolls, they looked like they came from a supermarket box. And a chicken with a not-very-great sauce and plain white rice. Very basic and you could easily live without eating here. It's a tourist trap. And expensive.

It's been a must for us for years. I haven't found Peking duck with pancakes like this at any Chinese restaurant before. I know it as an appetizer for Peking duck, but I've only ever had this delicacy as a main course.

We had a delicious Chinese meal in a beautiful location in the heart of Maastricht. The service was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The food arrived quickly and the portions were perfect. Everything was clean and tidy. In Limburg, Belgium, you'd have to search far and wide for a good Chinese restaurant these days, so we'll definitely be back. Also convenient: parking nearby at the Mosae Forum and a pleasant stroll through Maastricht afterward.

Gisteren er gaan eten met vrienden ik kreeg een verkeerde bestellng. Naderhand een ander gerecht gekregen wat ook niet het juiste was. Probably one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever eaten at 🤤. I really loved the lemon chicken 🍋 and the fried calamari!! Slight drawback: the croepoeks are not included, and the prices are still higher (but the taste is there) than average. This restaurant is still highly recommended for the quality of its dishes! 🤩

Wij komen hier al 20 jaar maar vind echt de prijzen ten top stijgen en klein kommetje bamboe met rundvlees bijna 20 euro pekingeend niet echt goed en weinig we hadden nog honger na 65 euro betaald te hebben

De geachte heer die bediende had het niet zo naar z'n zin vandaag. Beetje ongeïnteresseerd. Maar goed de zaak bestaat al sinds de jaren 50 en dat kun je zien. Kaart was niet zo groot. Besloot hete kip te nemen. Hij kun wat pittiger voor mijn gevoel maar sambal helpt. Je krijgt een grote portie en een bakje bami. Vond het erg smakelijk en heb heerlijk gegeten.

Op dinsdag 29 juli 2025 om 17u30 kregen we met onze groep van 16 personen bij La Chine zoals steeds weer een hartelijke ontvangst. De groep werd verdeeld over twee grote ronde tafels en het eten smaakte weer super lekker. Ook de bediening was weer uitstekend ! Dit blijft ons favoriet restaurant als we naar Maastricht komen ! The first Chinese restaurant in Maastricht about 75 years ago. Our favorite restaurant is Wen Chow, but he was on vacation. So a comparison with that restaurant makes sense to me. Nice location on the market, with several other terraces. Inside it looks modern compared to other Chinese restaurants. The food was just good, but could not quite match Wen Chow. It was striking that the shrimp spring rolls were almost twice as expensive, but that De Foe yong Hai was about €10 cheaper and both tasted very good. The cha siew was said to be very lean, so we did not choose that. The pork belly, large portion but not really a topper. Had a nice conversation with the owner, and also said my comment above. My mother-in-law definitely wants to go back, so we will do that too.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the owners were so lovely and kind. We had a really great chat, and they went out of their way to give me some nice recommendations for the city, even though they were busy. I will certainly come back. Thank you! ♥️

We’re big fans of Asian cuisine and have visited many Asian restaurants across the Netherlands. Unfortunately, this place was our first disappointing experience. The portions were tiny — no, minuscule — especially considering the high prices. The soup was literally 100 ml of water with three dumplings. That’s it. A portion of four small dumplings cost €8. Even more frustrating was the waiting time: we waited over 30 minutes, while two tables who ordered after us were served much earlier. Charging €7.50 for a single teapot and counting it as two separate teas was just laughable. In the end, we spent €42 and wasted our time on a thoroughly disappointing experience.

On Thursday 15-5-25, 19:00 hrs we ate at la chine, on the market in Maastricht. Delicious food. Main course neatly measured so that you have enough but are not overfull. Tasty and I had a dish with 1 pepper and that was exactly spicy enough.

We've been here three times now. The first time it was absolutely delicious. The second time it was okay. After complaining, it was okay. Today I didn't like it at all. I had chicken chop suey on all three courses. We won't be going back. It's too expensive.

Ordered dinner today. Spring rolls were great, we waited another 30 minutes for the main course. Chicken was tough and tasteless. Definitely not a second visit there!!!

The restaurant, which now has a new generation of owners, is in no way prepared to compromise. When a client does not like the (take-away) meal, the uncontrollable argument is that others would appreciate it. The person is then played with photos taken without permission. Which the APV will of course not agree with. Commercially, but also and above all above and beyond honest business.

Best of the best. Soup was very appropriate and tasty. Main dish was just brilliant! Served in a proper way. Definitely the best chinese cuisine I have tried in Netherlands till now. Service at very high level, despite I do not speak dutch. I can recommend to everyone.

We spontaneously went there for dinner on a sunny Wednesday lunchtime. We got a seat without a reservation and the service staff was really nice. I ordered chilli chicken with sweet chilli sauce, which was supposed to be a crispy baked chicken with vegetables and rice. But what arrived at my table had nothing to do with it, the chicken had a consistency like chewing gum, as if it had been kept warm in the sauce for hours. Vegetables were simply almost non-existent. The rice was tasty, the sauce tasted okay. I also had a 0.2l cola. The whole thing for €23 is not justifiable. I hope that my meal was an exceptional case.

The roast duck was dry, not tasty and the seasoning was too salty. The soup was good but a bit salty. Very disappointed. The store was very busy. The tea is delicious.

WOW!!! Delicious food and super nice people. I had dinner there with my grandmother and despite her poor English, they were patient with her. The weather was nice so it was full outside, but inside it was nice and quiet.

We ordered the aubergine with minced meat, and hui wok yok (回锅肉）. Both of them are tasty. This is already my second time here and if you are craving for some Cantonese dishes, this is your place to go. You can imagine some “fusion” in this dishes as majority of them are to serve local tastebud but small tips: I spoke to the owner and they said if you would like to enjoy the authentic version, feel free to request for it! How nice right?

It was my brother-in—law’s favourite Chinese restaurant in Maastricht. We were surprised at how authentic the food taste. My favourite was the Salt and Pepper Fried Squid. My son likes the Singaporean Mi Hun. The boss was very chatty and the service staffs are delightful as well! Overall, very good experience.

We ordered the babi panggang speciaal, reminiscing about enjoying this dish during my student days in the Netherlands in the 90s. It was a clever and delicious modern take, with the sweet and sour sauce and cabbage served separately, allowing you to mix it to your preference. We also tried the mihun Singapore, Kung Pao chicken, pepper fried squid, pangsit goreng, and mini loempia’s. The service was excellent, making this spot a must-visit in Maastricht for tasty Dutch-Chinese food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended!
