Next time I come to the Netherlands 🇳🇱, I will definitely come here for dim sum

Decided to try out something new with a friend and we were not disappointed! The food was amazing, the tofu was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Even though they didn’t have a lot of vegetarian options the ones they had were amazing! The best part is that we ordered 2 different options with fried rice, but it’s made in a way that you share all of it, so we got the best of both worlds! Surely coming back :)

My favorite place to eat, I've eaten there countless times. The food is delicious and the service is superb. The roast meat and beef offal noodles are the best!!!

Reasonable and better than the typical Indo/Chinese restaurants. The price is ultimately out of whack, no matter how good it is. Even in Singapore, they don't dare ask for more than 12 euros for a portion of noodles, but apparently they do here.

The food was very well-made, and the staff were very understanding when we requested to change a pork dish for a duck one. Their house-made chilly sauce was so great that we asked if we could buy some, the owner kindly gave us some that was meant for take-away and refused to get paid for it. All in all, it was a nice experience and money well-spant.

The most authentic Chinese restaurant in Maastricht. The proof is that you'd think you were in China, given that the Chinese come to eat there... A benchmark.

The dim sum was PHENOMENAL. We ordered the deep fried dumpling with pork, steamed rice roll, half plate of roasted pork belly and duck (comes with rice), and siu mai. Everything was flavorful and authentic, with great texture.

The food is always very well-seasoned, the portions are generous, and well-prepared. The owners are always ready to crack a joke. It's a great atmosphere; we always come back happy.

Ask for the Chinese menu! They have more options than the western menu. Dimsum was decent. Some items were better than others but overall it was a nice lunch 🥪 4.5 stars overall

In general the food was decent, duck was perhaps the only highlight. Fried pakchoi with fish slices (as written in the chinese menu) was not what was expected as fish slices you would expect usually proper marinated white fish slices and not just fish cake which is super artificial. Additionally, paying extra 5€ for "fish slices" does not justify the price. Dimsum quality could also be better, and the fried rice noodles were thick and not what you would usually get at chinese restaurants. All in all would not recommend this restaurant for people who are looking for authentic cantonese food.

Walked in without a reservation and that was no problem. Friendly and fast service. The dishes are really tasty and flavorful. The food is not greasy, which you can sometimes have in a Chinese restaurant. Lots of tasty vegetables with the main course. This restaurant is definitely recommended.

A great location to eat well, large portions and not too expensive

Haven't had such delicious wan tan and cha siew in a long time. Pleasant atmosphere and a lot of attention for customers. Going outside there was confirmation of a feeling: recommended by Michelin.

The name of the restaurant is "Wenzhou Restaurant", but it mainly serves Cantonese cuisine and Hong Kong-style dim sum. The restaurant is located diagonally opposite the Maastricht train station. It is very eye-catching and easy to find. The dishes are quite good, and the taste is more flavorful. The shrimp dumplings and fresh bamboo rolls are delicious, and the fried rice is also generous. I am very satisfied to be able to eat at this level in Europe. It may be full during the dining period, so you need to book a table first, otherwise you can choose to eat during the afternoon tea time, and there will be no one there. Michelin recommendation stickers have been posted at the door for many years. The name is consistent with the name, the price is reasonable, and the service staff is friendly.

The taste is okay and the service is average.

The skin of shrimp dumplings is mushy. The noodles is not the right kind of noodles. The worst was they gave us NOT fully cooked spare ribs. You can see from the photo that the juice of meat has not come out yet. And the waiter gave us a knife to cut them to prove they are cooked. Sadly not all can be cut open and off the bone, which further proved that they were not fully cooked! AND they still charged us for that spare ribs!

Skuffende måltid med and. Fikk stykker med nesten bare bein i. Tilbehøret var kun noen kokte salatblader. Og risen var lunka. I tillegg virket ikke flaska med soyasaus. Nei, dette var det simpleste måltidet på noen kinesisk restaurant jeg har vært.

The food was tasty and more than sufficient. I thought the dishes came in quick succession, the aperitif and starter were not finished yet and the main courses were already there. Very extensive menu but a pity that there is no dish of the day. Received the leftover food neatly packaged. Worth repeating. Location opposite the station and a 10-minute walk to the center.

Every time we go to Maastrich we visit this restaurant. The food is authentic, and the staff is really friendly and caring. I think it is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have ever visited...and I have been in China! 😊

We ordered eight dishes and one soup. The fried chicken and roast duck were both very delicious. The skin was very crispy and the taste was quite sufficient. It is recommended to give it a try.

Total rip off. Nasi goreng, bami goreng and the chicken satay the most mediocre I have ever had in my life. To add insult to injury they charge 3 euros for a small glass of water. It does not come in a bottle and I mean small!!

Lovely people, amazing food and great ambiance. I come here every week, and it will be one of the places and people I will miss the most when I move out of Maastricht. If you are looking for some delicious food, look no further!

La super inflation est passée par là… c’était peut être trop bon marché avant mais la c’est presque devenu les prix d un étoilé pour certains plats. 37€ le plat de scampis, idem pour le canard laqué…. Nous avons trouvé que c était surfait.

Heel vriendelijke en vlotte bediening, lekker eten. Naast de “normale” kaart met de klassiekers is er ook nog een specialiteitenkaart mer de meer typisch Kantonese gerechten. Het meertalige personeel geeft je graag advies. Tijdig reserveren is zeker aan te raden.

Not what I expected from a former Micheline star restaurant. We ordered a menu for 3 and only 2 out of 3 dishes did not disappoint me (although they did not taste special either). Perhaps bad luck or simply not the signature dishes but wasn't satisfied nonetheless

Yay, another goalkeeper! This Chinese resto is as it should be. The round tables with turntables, the Chinese tea served with your meal. The excellent steamed starters, the babi pangang and cha sieuw, shrimps with cashew nuts, seasonal vegetables, this is really what it should be, a real Chinese restaurant, and yes, there were many diners with an Asian background. All in all a delicious meal, the staff is friendly, because it was again on spec, a table was quickly set up. The waiter actively thought along with us in the choice, because gluten free! This was a big ten for this case, see you again soon.

If he wished to break the spoon, he could have simply dropped it on the floor, which would have achieved the desired result more efficiently than dropping it in a bowl. I have frequented this restaurant on numerous occasions over the past few years. It is regrettable that the quality of service and food at the restaurant has declined. For example, the egg-shrimp omelette was overcooked. The prawn dumplings on the menu are not of the same quality as the frozen prawn dumplings you can buy in Asian supermarkets. Most of the other dishes are of a good standard and most of the waiters are friendly. If the manager is not enjoying his role, it would be advisable for him to refrain from arriving at work in a negative or angry frame of mind.

To be fair: we had not made a reservation and were just able to get a table. The food is fine, but what a super busy restaurant. We didn't feel like going out for a nice meal. Everything was happening too fast for us.

Great service! I was looking for gluten free options (only gluten sensitive not celiac) and the gentlemen helped us checked every dish. They were able to check the ingredients as it's made inhouse. Food was delicious as well :)

Impeccable, recommended by The Michelin Guide since ‘07. Pity the rice was not good enough to pair with such delicacies.

All fried and deep fried items had a very strong ordor from rancid oil. Barbecued pork was tender and juicy, roasted duck very dry. Service was fast, however the quality of food here just didn't justify the price.

Ic and Flic decided that eating today would be a good idea and fancied something spicey. We spotted this restaurant opposite the train station. Fairly busy and mainly chinese people eating here, usually a good sign. Ordered a crispy belly pork and a chilli / garlic chicken. Food arrived amost as soon as we ordered! Asked for fried rice but got boiled. Generous and tastey portions. Took a doggy bag of chicken home. Pints of Heinekin to wash down the food. Ladies toilet downstairs, men up a steep staircase. 55€ visit.

The Char Siu Bao were very dry and likely not fresh, the rice rolls were too thick and not transparent as they are supposed to be. The char siu mai were also underwhelming. My Chinese friends told me that the chicken feet were quite tasty though. When I complained to the waiter, he was very rude and told me that I should not complain because all other customers like this food, and I am the exception who wants soft and fresh buns.

Good, hot food and super friendly service

I have now eaten Chinese in many places, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. But I have not yet eaten something as delicious as at Wen Chow, you get so much that you can eat it for 2 days and what is left you get to take home. The staff is very friendly and polite.

Didn't regret coming here by chance. Ordered the beef tripe noodle and it was fully loaded, totally worth the price. Authentic Cantonese flavour!!

Wrong food order was given. I ordered singapore rice noodles with prawns and was given pork. The prawn shumai was not freshly made and had stuck together. Extremely disappointed in this “Michelin awarded restaurant”

Delicious iced tea. Also loved the szechuan beef. It was unfortunately not spicy at first but when I told the staff, they sent me home with the most delicious mind-numbingly hot chili oil. Will definitely be coming back!

When looking for a dim sum restaurant in Maastricht I came across this restaurant. A truly typical old interior of a Chinese restaurant gave me confidence that it would really be authentic. The recommended dishes were a big disappointment. Something that should normally be crispy was completely wet. Some dishes also didn't have enough flavor. Pity.

Wen chow used to be the top in Maastricht, now a few years later it is worse than a fast food restaurant, the food was terrible, Cantonese rice table for €70, was a simple rice table with 4 dishes, everything of which was bone dry. NEVER AGAIN

First time to visit restaurants in Netherlands. Feel very disappointed that a small cup of water costs 2.8 euro. We ordered several dishes. The taste is in general bad. Some details: The duck has no flavor inside but only the surface has little taste. The trippa was too much salty. Don't recommend this restaurant.

The food here is super delicious. We regularly drive an hour there for dinner. Our favorite dishes include dim sum (hakao, shrimp cheong fan, chicken feet, tripe), fried tofu, salt pepper, crispy pork belly.

Best Chinese food in this area. Large portions and very good prices for Maastricht. Would recommend this place to all my friends and will be back without a doubt.

Been here with 9 persons total on Friday 12/04 Reservation was nessecary. Upon arrival we were directed to a nice round table. We took Cantonese menu for everybody. Quick and good service. Excellent food. Happy to come back here

While the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, I found the food quality to be below the expectations set by its Michelin star rating. The roasted duck was satisfactory, but the roasted pork was a bit tough and lacked tenderness. The barbecue pork was particularly disappointing; it was overly tough and difficult to chew. When I mentioned this to the manager, the response seemed defensive rather than understanding. As someone who grew up enjoying Cantonese cuisine, I can say that the flavors and textures were not authentic to what I know and love.

After more than 30 years, we had dinner here for the second time yesterday with a group of friends. And so as people always say; if a lot of Chinese eat there, it must be good. And that was it! A Cantonese rice table for 9 people on a round table with turntable. First some small one-bit starters with chicken and shrimp. Then a table full of dishes that were all equally delicious. And more than enough for everyone. Finished with a delicious ice cream and a cup of coffee. The service was friendly and smooth, everything was on the table in no time. For €40/50 pp it was a nice dinner, I can recommend it to everyone!

Tried to avoid the crowd and came for DimSum in the late afternoon. The advantage was that you get quick and good service, without long waiting for the food. Also the sitting was comfortable. One little flaw was that the beef trip we ordered was a bit hard and plane, maybe a bit of spice and time of cooking would help.
