Best Chinese restaurant in Maastricht, I have been here 3 times. Friendly, helpful staff and good portions. I love coming here!

It is a very nice restaurant. The meat is always well cooked and properly seasoned. However, the fried rice could have a bit more personality, as the texture seems to be missing some of the wok hei that comes from proper heat and tossing. That said, I have been there twice and have always been satisfied with the food. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

Good Chinese food but lack of comfort once inside.

Asked for tap water. Told only do bottles of mineral water. When that came, at a charge, it was not in a bottle, only a glass and was obviously tap water as the glass would not have held the contents of a small bottle of water.

Excellent Dim Sum, but make sure to ask for the separate Dim Sum menu that they apparently don’t offer automatically, lest one ends up with mediocre Chinese food

We were starving... a rip-off. The menu for 5 people was served as if it were for 2. They only offered one dessert. The drinks were also ridiculously small.

2 weeks ago I had a combo platter. Tomato soup tastes like diluted, warmed-up ketchup. Chicken was too dry and tasted like everything but chicken. The wait staff spoke very poor Dutch and very poor English. NEVER AGAIN

The food was delicious! It was a bit crowded though; if you have a reservation, you might have to wait a while.

A typical Chinese restaurant with round tables and a shared dining tray for 3 or more people. Special menus are available for groups of 3 or more. We offer immediate service in French and English. I highly recommend the duck, which is excellent. Thanks to Luka from the Kaboom Hotel for his enthusiastic recommendation.

I'm used to better and don't understand the reviews. The satay wasn't tasty, the duck was almost whole and not crispy. There was very little sauce, and the iced tea didn't taste homemade. The pasta wasn't homemade and wasn't fried. Why are there so many Michelin stars on the door? Very confusing.

The fact that you have to book a table for evening dining is a testament to Wen Chow's popularity! And rightly so, because the food is truly delicious. There's a wide selection, so there's something for everyone. I'm one of those people whose taste buds go wild with spicy dishes. There's no shortage of those either! This is my second time at this restaurant and it's already become a favorite. I love the atmosphere and the service!

The place was almost full. That is usually a good sign. The service was quick and friendly. The soup and the rest of the meal looked well-presented and tasted great. Nicely located near the train station and the bus stops almost right outside the door.

This is not my first visit to Weng Chow, a Chinese restaurant located directly in front of Maastricht Central Station. One of the first things I appreciate about this restaurant is its very convenient location. From the city where I live, I can easily come here either by bus or by car, so it is very accessible. Another thing I like is the atmosphere. It clearly feels like a family business. You can see members of the same Chinese family serving guests, which creates a warm and authentic feeling. I also noticed that many Chinese customers eat here, which is often a good sign of authentic Chinese cuisine. Besides the standard Chinese dishes, the restaurant also offers a special menu with more traditional and authentic Chinese options. If you are interested in more specific dishes, you can ask the staff for this separate menu. This is a nice detail for people who want to explore something beyond the typical Chinese dishes usually found in Europe. One thing to keep in mind is that the portions are quite large. Chinese meals here are often served in a sharing style. For example, if you come with four or five people, it is usually enough to order two or three dishes and share them together. If you cannot finish your meal, the restaurant is happy to pack the rest for takeaway. A small challenge might be the accessibility of the restroom. To reach it, you have to go down some stairs, which could be difficult for people using a wheelchair. However, this is quite common in older buildings in Maastricht. We chose this restaurant because it was conveniently located near the hotel. When we arrived, we had to make a reservation for an hour later, it was so crowded! It was worth it – the dim sum, duck, etc., were authentically delicious and very good! The ambiance was typical, but everything was very cramped to serve as many customers as possible.

This is a restaurant that we have visited regularly for years, always with great pleasure. The Dim Sum is very extensive and has a very refined flavor. What has always struck us is the consistently high quality of the dishes. As far as we are concerned, for example, the Siu Kau (shrimp dumpling) soup is the best in the world!! The dishes we recently ordered, Yan-Chow fan (Chinese fried rice), Sieuw-Yuk (Roasted pork belly), and Chap-Tao Pol (Tofu with meat and seafood), certainly belong among the top dishes. The service is always exceptionally friendly. Our advice is to make a reservation in advance, as we are not the only ones who have discovered this restaurant.

We had an exquisite dinner at the restaurant. The food was superb quality, and the presentation was top! They looked after us even in a busy evening during TEFAF!!! Highly recommend!! Ask them to make a tasting menu if you are a group.

Very tasty and authentic food! We initially wanted to go for a Cantonese rijsttafel, but eventually decided to choose various dishes ourselves. Everything was very tasty & our favorite was the cha siu bao. Wen Chow is definitely worth a return visit!

Love it here. Crispy pork and chicken soup is delicious. All the staff are always friendly and it is so cosy there. They also always treat our kids to free ice lollies.

Fantastic Chinese restaurant! It's very popular with an Asian clientele (which means a lot to me). The food is excellent, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients (a welcome change!), prepared on-site, not frozen. The service is very fast. The staff speaks English, French, Chinese, Dutch, etc. Since eating there, I can't imagine going back to a standard Chinese restaurant. That says it all!

Update 09 Februar 2026 I’m here a few time, people are friendly. Today I tried to order PIN PEE AAB ( food’s name) €36 ( not recommended) , I prefer Rost Duck €24 and the vegetables Kaai Lan are nice taste.

Far too little food for the price we paid

Yesterday I ordered and paid for one portion of roasted bacon (foh nam) for €24.50. It came in a plastic container half filled with Chinese cabbage and half with about 24 small cubes of bacon. It was tasty, but for €24.50 I'd eat a good steak instead. They said everything was getting more expensive. But we haven't changed the price, you just get less bacon. Hahaha I had golden bacon; that was definitely the last time. Bye when chow!!!!!!!!@

When in Maastricht and you arrive at night before 22:00 , and are dying for some “Chinese” food , than look no further because 200 meters from the Maastricht central station on the left , is When Chow . An indo-Chinese , more a Cantonese , restaurant like so many other basic ones in the Netherlands . Their Interior when entering is very minimalistic for standard Cantonese restaurants as is Wen Chow .For dinner I ordered their sizzling beef and two chickensoups wich were okay if you are hungry and just want to fill your stomach with Asian food . Afterwards I paid the bill and left satisfied .

Very authentic and delicious Cantonese food, I'll definitely come again next time, no wonder it's a Michelin-starred restaurant.

As somebody who grew up having chinese cuisine at home and restaurant, i approve the food's authenticity at Wen Chow. We recommend ordering from the Dimsum section, especially the Cha Sieuw Cheung Fun. The chicken feet was super juicy and the meat falls off the bones. Service was great!

This restaurant has a large number of Michelin stations and is one of the most delicious Chinese restaurants I've ever tried. The service is excellent and the place is clean. Chicken Spring Rolls 10/10, Shrimp Dumpling Soup 10/10 (light), Sweet and Sour Chicken 10/10, Beef with Broccoli 9/10, Dessert: Fried Banana with Ice Cream 10/10

The food wasn't really tasty, needed extra seasoning at home, and it was expensive, 5 euros for a packet of kroepoep.

The Chinese food here tastes the same everywhere to me. It suits our tastes, but all the specialties are missing: where are the sea cucumbers, the snakes, the sheep penises, the tuna eyes, the century eggs, the shark fins, and the hundreds of types of rice! In this restaurant, everything is good, well-served, and fresh (and expensive).

The quality of the dim sum was terrible. Expensive, unpalatable, and the portions were small. I won't be ripped off next time.

‼️It gets very busy on holidays, so reservations are highly recommended. It's located opposite the train station exit. There's also a Q-park nearby. Free street parking is available after 6 PM. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever had in Limburg province, on the Belgian and Dutch borders! The staff outside are all very friendly and welcoming ☺️ The picture shows what we ordered for the two of us. Even if you're full after your meal, you still need to order some dim sum. The fried ice cream was so sinful! The Malay cake with jasmine green tea (they give you a whole pot!) was absolutely amazing. Even my local husband said he wanted to order it again next time, plus sesame balls. Also, I didn't see anyone mention in the comments: The radish cake is super delicious, you absolutely must order it! Radish cake! Radish cake! Radish cake! The best Cantonese food I've had in the region! What I particularly love is that the dishes are not greasy (unlike many other Chinese restaurants). Definitely go for the siu yuk and char siu bao.

Decided to try out something new with a friend and we were not disappointed! The food was amazing, the tofu was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Even though they didn’t have a lot of vegetarian options the ones they had were amazing! The best part is that we ordered 2 different options with fried rice, but it’s made in a way that you share all of it, so we got the best of both worlds! Surely coming back :)

Reasonable and better than the typical Indo/Chinese restaurants. The price is ultimately out of whack, no matter how good it is. Even in Singapore, they don't dare ask for more than 12 euros for a portion of noodles, but apparently they do here.

The food was very well-made, and the staff were very understanding when we requested to change a pork dish for a duck one. Their house-made chilly sauce was so great that we asked if we could buy some, the owner kindly gave us some that was meant for take-away and refused to get paid for it. All in all, it was a nice experience and money well-spant.

The most authentic Chinese restaurant in Maastricht. The proof is that you'd think you were in China, given that the Chinese come to eat there... A benchmark.

The dim sum was PHENOMENAL. We ordered the deep fried dumpling with pork, steamed rice roll, half plate of roasted pork belly and duck (comes with rice), and siu mai. Everything was flavorful and authentic, with great texture.

The food is always very well-seasoned, the portions are generous, and well-prepared. The owners are always ready to crack a joke. It's a great atmosphere; we always come back happy.

Ask for the Chinese menu! They have more options than the western menu. Dimsum was decent. Some items were better than others but overall it was a nice lunch 🥪 4.5 stars overall

In general the food was decent, duck was perhaps the only highlight. Fried pakchoi with fish slices (as written in the chinese menu) was not what was expected as fish slices you would expect usually proper marinated white fish slices and not just fish cake which is super artificial. Additionally, paying extra 5€ for "fish slices" does not justify the price. Dimsum quality could also be better, and the fried rice noodles were thick and not what you would usually get at chinese restaurants. All in all would not recommend this restaurant for people who are looking for authentic cantonese food.

Walked in without a reservation and that was no problem. Friendly and fast service. The dishes are really tasty and flavorful. The food is not greasy, which you can sometimes have in a Chinese restaurant. Lots of tasty vegetables with the main course. This restaurant is definitely recommended.

The name of the restaurant is "Wenzhou Restaurant", but it mainly serves Cantonese cuisine and Hong Kong-style dim sum. The restaurant is located diagonally opposite the Maastricht train station. It is very eye-catching and easy to find. The dishes are quite good, and the taste is more flavorful. The shrimp dumplings and fresh bamboo rolls are delicious, and the fried rice is also generous. I am very satisfied to be able to eat at this level in Europe. It may be full during the dining period, so you need to book a table first, otherwise you can choose to eat during the afternoon tea time, and there will be no one there. Michelin recommendation stickers have been posted at the door for many years. The name is consistent with the name, the price is reasonable, and the service staff is friendly.

The taste is okay and the service is average.

The skin of shrimp dumplings is mushy. The noodles is not the right kind of noodles. The worst was they gave us NOT fully cooked spare ribs. You can see from the photo that the juice of meat has not come out yet. And the waiter gave us a knife to cut them to prove they are cooked. Sadly not all can be cut open and off the bone, which further proved that they were not fully cooked! AND they still charged us for that spare ribs!

The food was tasty and more than sufficient. I thought the dishes came in quick succession, the aperitif and starter were not finished yet and the main courses were already there. Very extensive menu but a pity that there is no dish of the day. Received the leftover food neatly packaged. Worth repeating. Location opposite the station and a 10-minute walk to the center.

Total rip off. Nasi goreng, bami goreng and the chicken satay the most mediocre I have ever had in my life. To add insult to injury they charge 3 euros for a small glass of water. It does not come in a bottle and I mean small!!
