I had a delicious meal at this location yesterday. I'm shocked when I read the reviews! So I wanted to share my experience. I found the staff and service to be very friendly and good! The people were friendly, and everything went smoothly. The only disappointment was the cocktails! I had to wait 30 minutes, if not longer. A different recipe, overly sweet, with little mint, and just plain not tasty. The Havana seemed to have been replaced by a cheap German version. I only had one glass; I normally drink them all evening! The food was delicious and the service was good, so apart from the cocktails, I actually got everything I expected!

Nothing to report about the quality of the food, which is what you'd expect from a chain like this. Good food, nothing special, but you don't make it yourself every day. Unfortunately, there's plenty to report about the service. First of all, a large portion of the staff wears face masks under their chins. Not surprising, since their manager sets the example. When I point this out to her, this woman gives us the "drop dead look." It's funny that the other COVID measures are apparently essential to her: this teacher spends at least five minutes of our reservation meticulously explaining things like how to use the toilet chain. We get over it and start our remaining time ("you do have the end time in mind, right?") with renewed vigor, enjoying tapas. We order a round of tapas and happily order a bottle of wine, a bottle of water, and a beer. After a few more rounds of food, we ask for some tap water—for our youngest table companion, not yet ten years old. That's when it truly becomes clear that this restaurant has turned pocket-spending into an art. A brief sampling of the teacher's response: "No, sir, we don't serve tap water." "No, sir, that's perfectly normal these days, you see it in many restaurants, honestly." "No, sir, I can't help it, my boss makes me." "I won't answer your question about what I think." Credit where credit's due: after some verbal back-and-forth, we finally get that one glass of tap water, a rare exception. When this manager unsubtly reminds us of the end times at the end of our stint, and the "free" glass of tap water still shows up on the bill, we know for sure: La Cubanita used to be a cozy Apeldoorn tapas restaurant, but they've forgotten how to give their guests a pleasant evening.

The food was delicious and delivered quickly, even though the restaurant was packed. The staff was also very friendly, and we enjoyed the delicious cocktails, which were also delivered promptly. We didn't see any staff "slacking around," as other reviews have mentioned. The atmosphere was very friendly, and we could hear each other clearly. One point of concern is that the restroom is very dirty and old, and that whole corner with, I think, the basement? looks grimy, making you wonder if the kitchen is even clean.

A shame for our family evening.... I called on Monday to make a reservation for three people, a stroller, and a small baby. I was told we'd get a table in the back because there was a group of 26 people in the front of the restaurant. I said that was fine to keep the baby quiet. The next day, when we arrived, I told her I had a reservation and that we'd get a table in the back. According to the lady, this wasn't an option because the back was closed. We had two options: sit in the middle of the screaming people or in the alcove. We chose the alcove, but it was also very noisy there. Our little baby was tired and trying to sleep. She's used to a lot of noise, but this was really extreme. She woke up screaming after 20 minutes. Okay, baby, let's sit on your lap. The food was not good, except for a few things, such as carpaccio, a very thick slice that was tough and impossible to cut. I told her right away, and the answer was: That really hit home, then I ordered kibbeling, which came with very excessive seasoning, very salty, I asked for a new one with little seasoning, the second one was also not doable in terms of salt, so I stuck with a piece of bread and corn, then ordered coffee (latte macchiato) which was milk and water, I also said, the answer was: that's always made that way, which is not true because I've often ordered it on other visits and it was good, I couldn't finish all 3 coffees, I asked if they might have run out of beans? The answer: no, when I looked I saw a small rim of beans on the side, causing the grinder to stick out in the middle, but according to the lady this was no problem, so no cup of coffee either, so I paid and was asked if everything was to my liking? To which we replied that it certainly wasn't and that we'd rather go to Deventer from now on. The toilets were dirty and the plumbing was broken. Honestly, I'd appreciate a refund. P.S.: 2 stars for the service, which was okay, but you could feel the unpleasant work atmosphere. It's a real shame for our family outing, which should have been enjoyable and enjoyable.

I was here and had made an online reservation. When we arrived, we were placed less than 20cm from the next table in a rather dull corner. The waitstaff could barely fit through the tables. The atmosphere was, in my opinion, nonexistent, or very poor. All the waitstaff were disinterested 15-year-olds. The food was often cold and didn't look or taste good.

We had a reservation for 5 p.m. and arrived right on time. However, we weren't helped for over fifteen minutes, and we weren't able to order our first course until 5:20 p.m. Not a big deal, but we were told three times that we absolutely had to leave at 7 p.m. We ordered our last course at 6:45 p.m. (less than an hour and a half later) and didn't receive it until ten minutes later, so we practically had to beg to eat it. The food was fine, but we felt it was too commercialized.

I love writing positive, honest reviews. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to be negative. I've never had such a bad meal or such poor service at any La Cubanita. What should have been a fun evening turned into a nightmare. Upon arrival, the manager argued with a group of people who were dissatisfied with the service because they had to wait over 30 minutes (in an empty restaurant) for their drinks. The atmosphere was tense. The manager left in tears, and the staff (about 10 of them) came to check on us. After we sat down at our table, our drinks were taken after 15 minutes. Unfortunately, during the service, they spilled all over the table and our clothes. No apology, nothing. A dirty cloth was used on the table. And that was the end of it. I can tell you the table was sticky the entire evening. We had to wait a really long time for our food. 30 minutes per round isn't bad. And everyone ordered came one at a time. So everyone ate one after the other. Also, no one wanted to clear the table. Staff were on their phones, smoking outside, or chatting in the kitchen. Ten staff members. And tables that had been empty for two hours were still covered in plates, crumbs, and empty bottles. After asking three times, our table was finally cleared. Disgraceful. See also photos of the restroom below. A month ago, someone posted a review that the faucet was loose and the toilet was filthy. The response: "We're going to fix it!" See the photos below. Absolutely disgusting and not fixed!!! Please don't go here. The staff is downright rude and untrained. They'd rather chat than tidy up or clean. The food was absolutely bland. My companion got very sick that same night and vomited everything up. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Edit: It's been three months now, and there hasn't been a single response. Bizarre. I've never left a bad review before. But here it is. The food was delicious. It didn't take too long, but there were only nine people in total. The waitress was very polite, and we even had a laugh with her. The bill included a mojito. We only had Coke and Fanta. Falsely accused of scanning a QR code from another table. WITHOUT PROOF. After I made it perfectly clear that it wasn't me (the girl who was going to pay with us was quite persistent), an apology was given and it was taken off the bill. We will never eat here again. What a downer on a wonderful evening. I should have at least called the manager. And the management of this chain... if this happens as often as the waitress claims, they really need to change the QR code, which is apparently as leaky as a sieve!!!!

We ate here last night, and it was a huge disappointment. Half the tapas menu was simply gone. Even the tapas with just fries was gone!!! You simply have to stock up. I understand that sometimes something is out of stock, but at one point it was more questionable whether they even had it. The manager radiated no atmosphere at all and walked around grumpily. The rest of the service was okay. The tapas always arrived per plate, so eating together was almost impossible. Tapas that were ordered weren't served, but were still shown as processed in the app, and we had to wait a very long time for the next tapas. Even though they were supposed to be open until 10:00 PM, by 9:00 PM we already had the feeling that the kitchen was closed. The restrooms were dirty, and even the toilet cistern was broken. The tap for washing hands was loose. Even for a drink, which I think has the highest margin, we had to wait 20 minutes—in short, a complete disgrace. We're definitely never going back here!! What was supposed to be a pleasant dinner turned into an evening with long waits and a lot of frustration. When we then mentioned at checkout that we were disappointed that half of the food wasn't there, they couldn't even offer a goodwill discount, and we had to settle for the fact that there wasn't really anything they could do about it.

I went here for the first time with my girlfriend. We had all-inclusive, but it took so long to get our food. You can order two things per person, and it took about 20 to 30 minutes to get it to the table. The food itself was overcooked, so it was way too dark. The beef pieces were as tough as a bouncy ball. Ordering drinks? They just forgot, so the all-inclusive didn't help us much. This is the first and last time I'll eat here.

We were lucky enough to be here yesterday.... Due to unforeseen circumstances, we arrived 15 minutes late compared to our reservation. This was pointed out to us as a group upon arrival. Not exactly a warm welcome. Following a tattoo on one of our group, the same waitress began explaining in detail what her tattoos represented. As if we'd been waiting for this explanation. We were also pressured to quickly place our orders. I don't know how things worked in the kitchen, but the appetizers varied greatly in size. The eggplant nearly blew off the plate because it was so small, and the fried bell pepper didn't fit on the plate because it was so large. Even the same dishes varied in size. Unfortunately, we were also told a few times, "We don't have this dish anymore." Some dishes weren't particularly tasty. "Toast" is, in my opinion, a synonym for stale bread here. Well before closing time, we were told to order desserts. This while we were still busy eating... And before we knew it, the menus had been taken off the table. So it was no longer possible to choose a dessert for some of the group. And then, at the end, we had to dare to ask several times if everything was to our liking. All in all, a concept of time running out: order quickly, eat quickly, pay, and get lost. When I look at the photos on the official Instagram page, the photos of the dishes don't really match what we were served yesterday. In short, this restaurant deserves 0 stars in my opinion. The term "restaurant" is actually too high a compliment for this one... Well, how can I put it politely? And then their website also states, "In a unique Cuban setting, you can enjoy the good things in life." La Cubanita's motto isn't for nothing: "La vida es un carnaval!" Carnival, enjoyment, beautiful things??? They probably mean a rude awakening... I have no idea what other locations are like. But for the Apeldoorn location, I can say it's a nice restaurant worth a quick visit.

This time, you were just sitting comfortably. Two negative points: (1) the tap in the men's restroom (although clean) was at 6:30. (2) No proper changing facilities for toddlers.

La Cubanita is a smaller restaurant that may look a bit run-down from the outside, but that fits in perfectly with the atmosphere and decor inside. There is plenty of choice on the menu, with something for everyone, ideal for an evening of tapas. Unfortunately, what does detract considerably from the experience is the overdue maintenance of the toilets. The door handle of the men's toilet is missing, the toilet seat was very dirty, the tap is loose and instead of refilling the soap dispenser, a loose pump has been placed. A shame, because the contrast with the rest of the restaurant is great.

Very very bad restaurant where I have been twice now but will never go again, even if it were free. I had ordered 5 vouchers via the ah. The first time it turned out that I had to make a reservation via the ah instead of at the restaurant itself. So I had to pay the full price. 105 euros. Ok, then I thought I would use the vouchers next time. I had now ordered via the ah but they did not agree with the email containing the confirmation. No, they absolutely had to have a qr code, which I did not have. They made no attempt to help me at all. Nothing was possible. Again I had to pay the full price. 95 euros. While I had only taken the drinks into account. So I paid double for today. And via the ah and at the restaurant. The food was tasty, although it was very salty. Probably deliberately to make you order a lot of drinks. We were supposed to get bread in advance. Didn't happen. I asked a girl who would arrange it. We still didn't get it. Then I asked a boy and after about 10 minutes he came with it. But yes this was supposed to be a starter and this was served between the snacks but ok. While I was eating my sweet potato fries the boy took my plate away. So weird and bad. I said I was still eating it and then he put it back. When the same boy came with containers he put it with the wrong person and we had to arrange that ourselves. One of us had asked for a little bit of alcohol in a glass and the rest water or soft drinks but this also went wrong. We had to wait a very long time for dessert. It is a very unprofessional restaurant. I really regret spending my money on this. I will never go there again and it is a shame because the food, even though it was quite salty, I really liked it. But everything around it was worse than bad. Incomprehensible that this restaurant can still exist. I did hear that there are more bad reviews than good ones. I understand why now. Very unfriendly and unprofessional. I'm going to contact the ah again tomorrow where the vouchers came from to say that I paid twice. I lost 3 vouchers but had to pay again. But the girl at the restaurant didn't care. I'm also going to advise everyone against this restaurant. Bah, I really have a bad feeling about it. I went there today because I wanted to get out for a while because I felt bad. The restaurant made me feel even worse and I'm not going to say oh how annoying because you don't care. We ate here, the food was delicious and we waited a long time for the appetizer! When we received our tapas dishes and only ate them, the appetizer was bad, bad service, they have 0.0 respect! They actually don't deserve a star! We had made a reservation through Albert Heijn, so we said we only had to pay for the drinks with the parking costs of over 100 euros. They could have helped us, we showed that we had made a reservation, but it was not enough for the part we had taken ourselves! It's a shame! I've been there once before. And then it was a real party. But last time I didn't think it was much of a party. There was a reservation. I was with friends who were celebrating their wedding anniversary. Reserved for three people including a wheelchair user. Where last time everything was streamlined in that regard. Was that really a bit less? The ramps were not ready. My girlfriend had to get this herself. Because staff preferred to stay behind the bar. I found this very unfortunate. This didn't really make me feel welcome. Okay obstacle one had been overcome. But apparently I had not been taken into account at all. Because the place that was conceived was not possible. And I ended up sitting outside the door. (Not a nice place because I kept driving back and forth. My electric wheelchair was too big for that spot) Anyway,. We stay anyway, but after all we had made a reservation. And by now we were also hungry. First round. Got off to a slow start. Me and the party partner already had our thing. I was still missing one. But the partner's wife had nothing. This only came up in round two. Yes, I found this disturbing. Because I was there with quite a group a year before. It did work. And the place was packed at the time. However, it just didn't work now. And it wasn't nearly as busy as the first time I went. If I were the one taking people out to eat. I would have left myself. In short, I felt it was a shame that the disaster was not ready. And it made me feel less welcome.

Als regelmatige bezoeker van restaurants in verschillende prijsklassen, ben ik wel wat gewend. Echter het voedsel dat ik vanavond opgediend kreeg mag de naam voedsel niet dragen. Later begreep ik ook dat er eigenlijk helemaal niet gekookt wordt maar dat het spul wordt opgewarmd. Begonnen met een koude tapa, een vitelo tonato. Ongelooflijke wat slecht. De kip met honing erna was net een spons en erg bleek. Ik kan zo nog wel een pagina vol schrijven maar het had werkelijk niets met voedsel te maken. Ach de bediening ging wel hoewel er ook heel wat gerechten niet geleverd werden. Kortom 1 keer maar nooit weer.

Went for dinner with colleagues 2 weeks ago. The mushrooms gratinated were cold through and through, the cheese had not even melted. My shrimp in chili oil were served as garlic prawns, I discovered that these were the spicy ones because someone who doesn't like spicy got them.. I've been to la cubanita before, but this time it was a bit less. Desserts from the all-in menu that had run out and a door that was actually not allowed to open even though it was really hot inside. Ordered dishes and did not receive them. Also little knowledge of the wines, only know that the house wine is a dry white at that time but nothing else. Very unfortunate! Also reported the same evening, but very little was done about it.

Have we ever eaten differently than what we were used to from La Cubanita! This time it was Apeldoorn's turn, the tapas was very tasteless. The menu had been shortened so that there was very little choice. The tastiest tapas was removed from the menu. One of our spicy steak strips had a hair in it, which is really not done... and were not strips but large blocks of meat, this was very tasteless, the carpaccio, which is normally so tasty, was as if it had been taken from the freezer, much of it was stacked thickly on top of each other, the truffle mayonnaise had been poured on top, there were 2 leaves of arugula on top...tomatoes, mozzarella skewers yuck, the sauce was a white, thick, tasteless thing... the avocado dip that was under the fried shrimp was more in one case than the other, you couldn't even dip it, so little... Ordering took a long time with the app after the 1st round 2pp. it took a long time before you could order the 2nd round or the app didn't work! Desserts were impossible to eat, children's ice cream was so little vanilla ice cream and the rest of the glass was full of whipped cream... tiramisu yuck, what a soggy thing that was with chocolate sauce that looked like it was ready-made... No, this is very bad!! Not recommended!!!

La cubanita in Apeldoorn is a nice place to have a nice meal. You can sit comfortably, so you don't have to sit in a cramped position. Food was very good, fast friendly service. We had an all-in package which was very good in terms of price. Cocktails are sometimes hit or miss.

Het eren was beneden alle niveau. Mexicaanse hamburgerketen waren een soort kipcorns uit een zakje, dit was het ook het geval voor de gefrituurde kipstukjes. Spareribs waren verbrand, garnalen in knoflook hadden kraak noch smaak. Gerechten kwamen mondjesmaat op tafel, je bestelt steeds 4 gerechtjes maar af en toe kwam er weer 1 gerechtje. Heb vaker bij la Cubanita gegegeven in andere steden, maar dit was niet vergelijkbaar. Ronduit slecht gegeten.

Ik heb inmiddels veel La Cubanita's gezien en geproefd en vaak erg tevreden. Maar deze vestiging is by far de slechtse ever. Eten taai, overgaar, bediening slecht en zeer slechte hygiëne. Zelfs het glas lipton ice tea was oud en al bijna zonder prik.

Ate here for the 1st time and also the last time, what immediately struck me was the entrance, where under the coat rack was a mop with mop buckets and a broom, the windows were extremely dirty and greasy, and the connecting door to the restaurant is too dirty to the touch, cobwebs and dead insects on the windowsill. I think the hygiene is very poor in this restaurant, I found the food to be very disappointing in terms of quality and certainly not fresh. Advice for the owner is that if you respond to a review that is not very good, then do something with it! And don't post the same comments all the time!

March 1, 2024 at 7 p.m. I had dinner there for the first time with my wife and daughter. At the entrance there is a broom and mop in the hall. Also stacked up a number of high chairs. The waitress was super nice and did her best. The care of the interior leaves much to be desired. Lots of dust and spider webs. The windows are greasy and the flies are on the windowsill. The glasses are not clean. Unfortunately this was the first and last time for us. Discussed everything with the waitress. She wanted to spend a day cleaning next week. Unfortunately, that won't cut it. Our cost of 123 euros is not worth it. La Cubanita learn from what customers write here and do something with it. Then you will save the business.

In a word- terrible. Very impersonal, I didn't get half of what I ordered, waitresses couldn't speak Dutch and the one who could was extremely grumpy. The app we had to order with didn't work, people next to us had the same thing. If we did receive something, it was much less than we ordered or was pictured in the app. Food was not fresh, never again. Really going home hungry.

It was very busy and we thought that was a good sign. The hostess was very friendly. The staff works hard but half of them do not speak Dutch or English. The quality of the food varies. People talk about tapas, but you notice that most of the food is heated up. Then you get the effect of weak fries, warm meat instead of hot. Some dishes are stoneware and others you really can't serve. When we arrived we both had dirty cutlery. An apology was offered and it was replaced. We also received a glass that was sticky on all sides and was dirty on the inside. Very unfortunate because the potential is certainly there! We spent almost 80 euros with 2 people and in terms of level I thought it was really bad. All in all we had a nice evening in which apologies were made several times. Like running out of mint tea and ginger tea.

Leuk restaurant, heerlijk gegeten! De hapjes waren stuk voor stuk erg lekker, een zalig supervers broodje vooraf, de gamba's en inktvis lekker mals (dat maak ik zelden mee). We konden omdat het dinsdag was, zolang blijven zitten en happen als we wilden. Begrijpelijk dat dat in het weekend lastiger te realiseren is. Al met al een aanrader!

Going to dinner with a friend. Was glad we got there early, because everyone who came in after us was told that all other tables were reserved. So I would definitely recommend making a reservation! The staff is friendly and explains well how everything works. However, we have had a number of times where we only received 1 dish on the table and had to wait at least 10 minutes for the other 3, even though all dishes were ordered at the same time. All in all, I would definitely go there again and recommend this place as well.

Enjoyed an evening of unlimited tapas! The food was delicious and of good quality. The waitress (a woman with beautiful colorful tattoos) made the evening even more enjoyable! It was quite busy, but you couldn't tell by the speed with which the dishes were served. We will definitely be back!
