The food is bad, some “hot” dishes are simply still cold inside, and they aren't even served at the same time as your other table guests, not even the cold dishes. The waitresses aren't the most cheerful either.

The price-quality ratio is excellent. There is a lot to choose from. The cocktails are very tasty.

We had a delicious meal. However, it was difficult that the kitchen was too busy. As a result, the courses got mixed up, and you ended up getting your meatballs, for example, after you had already finished your dessert.

I don't know of any restaurant that is as inconsistent as this one. I've eaten there regularly, and sometimes it's good, sometimes fine, sometimes bad. We go there because everyone can find something they like there. This time, it was very mediocre. We walked in and the restaurant was practically empty. The terrace was reasonably full due to the good weather. We were allowed to choose a table inside. The table has to be checked in so you can order with your phone. However, no one came, and after 15 minutes I just went to ask if someone could come over to check us in and take our drink orders. I'll keep it short, but... The orders took a very long time. Drinks arrived very late, and the quality of the food was very poor. The shrimp were bone dry and overcooked, as were the steaks. The chorizo ​​croquettes were cheese croquettes twice (luckily, on the last attempt, they were chorizo ​​croquettes 💪). I don't know what I find 'worse'... the mediocre food or the feeling that they had simply forgotten about us. We had to ask with almost every round of drinks if they were coming. I'm done with La Cubanita for now. There are plenty of restaurants where I feel treated better and the food is better.

I visited the Nijmegen branch today, after having eaten at other locations recently. What a huge disappointment this was. The food was tasteless, lukewarm, dishes were sold out or simply didn't arrive. We waited half an hour for our first drink and rock-hard bread roll. It took an incredibly long time for the dishes to be served. In between, watching kitchen staff clearing tables with toothpicks in their mouths completed the tasteless evening. Oh no wait: that was the view into the kitchen during the toilet visit. The kitchen looked really dirty, chaotic, and unhygienic. So we skipped dessert and left. Now, unfortunately, I'm in bed with a stomach ache. It's a shame; Nijmegen stands in stark contrast to our other experiences. Then €150 suddenly feels like a whole lot of wasted money.

La Cubanita has been our favorite restaurant in Nijmegen-East for 5 years, with the best dishes and plenty of choice. However, our last visit has changed that. First of all, the menu has changed, which would normally mean a lot of new choices, but it turns out that a lot of super tasty dishes have simply been removed: bacon-chicken honey rolls, spare ribs, salad, and the famous chili-cheese nuggets were gone. Other dishes are also constantly being changed, and the amount of food on the already small plate is getting smaller and smaller. Service takes longer and longer, and the friendliness in serving is now also lacking. Lots of new staff, some only English, which remains a strange experience. Weird new dishes with little flavor (like steak on bread; it used to be spicy steak tips and super tasty, the new version is inedible). I was a loyal customer for as many as 6 visits a year, but I'm going to look for something else now... a shame. And if you ask questions about the changes, you get simple, short answers that I could figure out myself... very disappointing, therefore. The menu used to be structured differently as well: cold dishes, hot dishes, fish, and vegetarian. Everything was good. Why change? Not for the better, in any case.

Was tucked away in a corner, the food was meh. The serving of the dishes was weird; everyone except one got their dishes. We finished ours, but the other person still hadn't received anything. It was really due to a staff shortage, but it was a poor experience twice; I won't be coming back.

Incidentally, all the food was very crispy and burnt. The lights flicker continuously, very annoying. A cat walks through the restaurant. Blazing hot inside, no air conditioning. No, never again for us. The worst La Cubanita we have ever been to.

After 50 minutes, we still hadn't received any dishes from the first round. In the meantime, something from the second round was already being delivered. We complained about this, and it was then turned into a rush order. After another fifteen minutes, we complained again, and then action was finally taken. The white wine (not in the cooler) was by then lukewarm and almost gone. The bread also only arrived halfway through, after complaining. The food was okay, but our enjoyment of the meal was ruined.

The food was disappointing compared to previous times. The shrimp were not hot, and the breaded shrimp and croquettes were overcooked. A bit of a shame.

The tables, chairs, and floor were constantly being cleaned with the same cloth... so the cloth goes over the floor and then over the table? This is unhygienic. Also, the staff touches everything with their hands and grabs loose ice cubes with their hands and puts them into the drinking glasses without washing their hands first. How difficult is it to grab a scoop or a glass to scoop the ice with?? The kitchen staff, however, were very neat and clean! They wore gloves and took ice from the container with a scoop or a glass 👍 In short. Not hygienic!! Arnhem is 100x better

My visit to the Nijmegen branch was a disaster. An employee tried to pick a cat off a chair with a full tray, causing an entire tray of soft drinks to spill all over me. My clothes were soaking wet. The "solutions" offered (company sweatpants or drying clothes over the toilet) were laughable. I spent the entire evening in wet, sticky pants. At the checkout, the promised compensation turned into an empty remark: only €6 was deducted outside the package deal. No substantial discount, no proactive service. A customer-unfriendly low point in terms of hospitality.

I go there very regularly, but unfortunately it has been less so lately; particularly upon entering, you are approached a bit strangely. The food is fine, provided it is actually served. The food is not a culinary masterpiece. However, the service could use some improvement. The first three rounds were not served. Once you have been sitting there for 1.5 hours, you do start to get hungry. Furthermore, it is not a place for a nice, quiet dinner.

We were here for dinner after a teambuilding day. If 30% of the orders are actually served, that is a lot. This is not normal.

International team. Delicious food. We didn't find the lady behind the bar particularly friendly. We asked her for hot water for a baby, and she took an unusually long time. First, she made about 15 cocktails... and then another waiter got us the water. It would have only taken the push of a button on the machine. The food is delicious. However, in a large group, orders often get lost. Or, some orders only arrive 30-40 minutes later, after they've already been forgotten. The non-alcoholic cocktails are tasty and inexpensive.

Place an order every 10 minutes via the app on your mobile and the chef gets to work immediately. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

For the price, I wasn't expecting fantastic food, but unfortunately, everything had the feel of frozen supermarket produce. The bathroom was dirty and off-putting, with a spider in the corner.

The atmosphere is less appealing than the one in Arnhem because it's far too noisy; due to the low roof and wooden floors, the sound reflects very strongly, so I was bothered by the high-pitched tones of my tinnitus all night long. We were there recently, and I must unfortunately complain that the dishes were very dirty and there were water stains on the cutlery. Otherwise, it was very nice. We found it easily; there was parking right in front.

Very bad. We made a reservation at 5:15 PM, and upon arrival we were immediately told we had to leave by 7:00 PM. At 6:35 PM, they came for the last round while we were still waiting for two rounds beforehand. The food was cold, extremely salty, and had no sauces on it. We repeatedly told them we wouldn't be served again. Foreign staff were unintelligible. We also spent the whole night in the toilet. Never again, so awful. Ugh.

This was a real disaster. The food was mostly lukewarm and took ages! (Between 20 and 40 minutes per round.) I repeatedly told them it wasn't as it should be, and they said they'd report it to the kitchen each time! We ended up going home and received a 10% discount on the bill by having some drinks deducted from the bill. The waitresses remained friendly, but it must have been an unpleasant evening for them too, as we saw and heard many people complain!

The waiter (long-haired and mainly working behind the bar) came to our table, or rather, he was standing at the table behind us, and called out our choice of concept. With or without drinks? What an improvement from, say, a year ago. Dutch-speaking staff! They even regularly ask if everything is alright, if there's anything else they can do for you, and don't just dump everything on the table like they do in many other la cubanitas. And a big plus for me: coffee with your dessert! Good job!

Food poisoning!! I ate here last Sunday evening, but unfortunately, it was a very bad experience. Of the four tapas dishes I ate, about half were ice cold and the other half were merely lukewarm. Even simple dishes like corn on the cob were not served at the correct temperature. I know that the food here is pre-cooked and then only deep-fried or reheated. That is precisely why it is concerning that dishes are served cold, because if food has been sitting for a while and is not properly reheated, bacteria can develop. The consequences were serious: the next day I have never been so sick, which strongly suggests food poisoning. Additionally, while visiting the toilet, I walked past the kitchen and took a quick look inside. What I saw there did not inspire much confidence: the kitchen looked anything but clean and hygienic. For me, this was a very disappointing and worrying experience. Food that is not heated properly and a lack of visible hygiene are unacceptable. I will not be coming back here.

Terrible concept. Every 10 minutes, you can order two dishes each using a QR code. The dishes didn't arrive at the same time, so enjoying a meal together wasn't possible. I already find a QR code awful because a phone doesn't belong at the table when you're having a nice meal out. Tapas was mostly junk food, too. The cocktails were also undrinkable. Dessert also arrived before the last appetizers. We also asked if we could sit inside, and they said there wasn't room yet and that they would let us know when it was. When we paid around 2015, there were no more waiting guests and plenty of tables available. What a disappointment, we left hungry and frozen from the cold outside 😟

We went to La Cubanita to have some casual drinks. We waited around 20-25minutes to order the drink, and another 15 minute for that drink to arrive which was also not very good. We even tried to go inside and order it in the bar because of the long wait. Unfortunately going to this place resulted in wasting a lot of time for us.

We tried a lot of food. Everything was delicious. Wonderful flavors. When we return to Nijmegen, I'll book a table here.

We arrived around 18:00 and our first snack and drink only arrived half an hour later and not even at the same time, very unpleasant! Very long wait and the table was almost full the entire evening, it was simply not collected. All in all, we each ate 3 snacks, the rest was all returned because it was cold or dirty. And at the end we still had to pay way too much.
