Lovely atmosphere and great food

I went out to eat alone for the first time with my dog ​​in a stroller, but what a nightmare at La Cubanita Schiedam. At the front desk, they shouted loudly that a "table for 1" was ready (as if it wasn't stressful enough already), and I was sent up two flights of stairs, even though it was clearly visible that this wasn't possible with a stroller. The employee walked away immediately and just left me standing there. Next, I was ignored by the staff for over 6 minutes while I asked for help three times for a spot downstairs. I received nothing but angry, contemptuous looks. Once at the table, it turned out the QR code wasn't activated, so I had to ask an employee for help again and was ignored AGAIN. Finally, when an employee came, I was forced in a very snapping manner to order drinks immediately, while she kept staring at me angrily. As a customer, I was incredibly shocked by the total lack of hospitality, empathy, and respect. This is a real shame. !!! UPDATE regarding La Cubanita's response !!! I know very well what I heard; it was definitely said "table for 1". If that hadn't been the case, I wouldn't have mentioned it. Furthermore, in your response, you completely overlook the fact that I was sent up two flights of stairs with a stroller (without any help) and that I subsequently walked past while ignoring them after asking for help. Not ordering immediately? Why then did your employee stay by the table until I had ordered? When I indicated that I wanted to order a drink with my meal, it was CLEARLY stated that I HAD to order at least 1 drink p.p. (as if I wouldn't do that). She simply didn't leave until I had given up, so denying that it had to be "immediately" is simply incorrect. That a male colleague briefly said in passing: "Oh, is it a puppy? I thought there was a baby inside, how cute, what is her name?" and giving her a pat is very sweet and nice, but it absolutely does not make up for the rest of the unfriendly treatment. It is a shame that denial is chosen instead of taking responsibility. Furthermore, I also sent you an email with a somewhat more detailed account of this incident. As expected, that naturally went unanswered as well..

Cozy restaurant, good food. Just a bit cramped.

Most of the food was tasty, though some things were lukewarm. And it is a shame there is little choice of desserts.

On Friday evening, I chose La Cubanita again, this time in Schiedam. My last visit to one of the La Cubanita restaurants was years ago. It is an All You Can Eat tapas restaurant where you can choose between Menu Complet and Menu Classic, with the Menu Complet including drinks. Please note, however, that cocktails are not fully included, but a lower amount will be charged. Furthermore, all other drinks are included. You order two small dishes per round, and there is no time limit. The variety of different tapas is more than sufficient, and the dishes are flavorful and really tasty. After placing your order via the QR code on your phone, the dishes appear at the table quite quickly, and the wait staff is extremely friendly and professional. I can absolutely recommend this tapas restaurant.

Best La Cubanita in the region and perhaps even the whole country. The atmosphere is Spanish, the decor is Spanish, and the music is Spanish. The taste and quality of the dishes here are significantly better than at other branches. Always worth the money for a simple meal out.

Ate here yesterday with colleagues. You pay one fixed price and can then eat and drink unlimitedly. The service was also good; despite the heat, the waitresses definitely kept moving!

Last night, we had dinner with colleagues at La Cubanita in Schiedam and were very satisfied. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and efficient, so we didn't have to wait long. The dishes were tasty and the value for money is excellent. The atmosphere was cozy and ideal for a night out with a group. We will definitely be back!

Upon entering, you had to find your own table number; there were absolutely no guidelines on where to go. The staff was also very unfriendly when paying the bill, arguing with my girlfriend and me about the fact that we hadn't ordered drinks with the basic package. It is not clearly stated anywhere on their website that this is required, and this was certainly not told or explained to us. If drinks are paid for separately and she isn't thirsty, she shouldn't be obliged to order drinks. The lady reacted very arrogantly to this. Her friend was also present in the restaurant, and they were chatting for a long time about private matters and plans for after work. We waited a very long time for them to finish their conversation. Although the food was very tasty, I find the service disappointing.

Yesterday, after a long time, I dined at La Cubanita with my daughter. It was a huge disappointment. We had to wait a very long time for each course, sometimes even twenty minutes. The dishes were also very disappointing. The service was very rushed, especially at the beginning of the evening. Later on, the service was a bit friendlier. No more La Cubanita for us.

Had a nice meal, but the service and hygiene leave something to be desired. In principle, the atmosphere here is fine and the food is very tasty. Unfortunately, the service left something to be desired: the dishes were not served simultaneously, but simply arrived when they were ready. As a result, one person was already eating, while the other had to watch and wait. Additionally, half of the plates were damaged (chips had come off). The hygiene in the toilet also left a lot to be desired: it was quite dirty and there was an unpleasant smell. In short: the food is good, but the overall experience could really be better due to these points.

The bread beforehand and the crème brûlée were decent, but the dishes themselves are really not suitable for connoisseurs; they just look like they came straight from the freezer section of Macro, with a weird sauce on top that doesn't match, served right there on your plate. Meh, too bad.

If you sit at the table for 2 hours, they suddenly stop helping you, drinking takes 15-30 minutes, and they say you are throwing up food and drink, which is not true.

Nice and atmospheric shop with something tasty to choose from for everyone

If you want to find something well-reproduced in Cuba, you'll be eating in a slum atmosphere. Clean tables, order via the app. The meatballs in red sauce are not fresh, but from the supermarket and were returned cold. Patata brava is bland and not seasoned, shrimp in lukewarm water and not cooked through, hamburgers just right. In short, not for me.

The food is delicious, and the service is good. You sometimes have to wait a bit longer for food and drinks, but that's mainly due to the large crowd. It's not a problem at all because the food is absolutely delicious, and the staff is super friendly. We do find the noise at La Cubanita to be quite loud, though. The spaces are quite small with so many people, so it gets a bit louder, and you have to speak a bit louder. Otherwise, it's a great place to go, and parking is easy in an underground garage.

The food was terrible, cold and bland. And not everyone got their food at the same time. A 4-year-old had to pay 24.50, even though the menu says 12.50 for 4-11 year olds during the week. So not very customer-friendly. I'll never go to Schiedam again.

Upon arrival, you were given a table number and can choose your own table. No problem, of course. The food is simply excellent, with something for everyone. The staff, with the exception of one lady, could be a bit friendlier and more cheerful. The restaurant upstairs looks very cozy. The food arrived quite quickly.

We had a wonderful time with my girlfriend, daughter, and grandchildren. We were all able to find something we liked. High chairs are available, but changing a 1-year-old was difficult. Neither the ladies' nor the men's restroom was a suitable space! Ordering is done via an app and QR code. Friendly staff. So we will definitely be back here again.

Even though our favorite menu changed to the current one. 🤔 We adapted ourselves and hope that our favorite dishes comes back. 😊 We always choose table 14, but yesterday it was not available. We chose 20. Our new favorite table. So now we have more options! 🎉 Service:👏 At first I was a little surprised to wait longer than usual. Until I learned from our waiter ( I think his name is Hidde), that he and his colleauge were running the place alone. It was very busy when we arrived. And I admire how this young gentlemen calmly explained the situation when I asked. He also was still so polite, calm, brought all our dishes together, picked whatever we had on our table. Full hands carrying things up and down and I never felt him being stressed or something. We always see him and he always has the same charisma and client service. A potential (future) manager, if he is not yet. :) 👨‍💼👏 So I really felt the need to share my compliments to the two workers of yesterday night! Thank you!🙏🌻 Food: We went for the usual. Our same choices of the menu. Loved it. Everything was pretty fresh and warm. The salmon was good, some parts tasted too fishy for my personal liking. A little different than usual. The chimichurri beef was better than ever before! We do miss the pulled beef/pork tacos. The cold version of before and the tartar bites. Also the paprika mix of beef tips. Oehhh, also the cheesy mussels. Also the avocado shrimps. For now, we make the best out of this menu. (BUT SENDING A HINT 🤭👏). GENERAL: The whole place screams atmosphere! We love La Cubanita Schiedam. Even after visiting Zoetermeer, Tilburg, Rotterdam (way back then) and Gouda. We keep coming back. But those are also very good service. Do not get me wrong. The ambiance is nice and comfortable. Every single server is full of energy and kind to us. We feel comfortable here and they have my favorite tables. Table 14, and now table 20. Cornered in a little bit of calmness or a little bit of privace. As I get overwhelmed in between loud people and places. The menu has changed, but the appetizers are still good. More flavorful than before. A nice package deal includes wine, soft drinks, sangria, coffee, and tea. The music is pleasant and upbeat. Very friendly staff.

A nicely decorated restaurant in Schiedam. Order your tapas and drinks via a QR code. It's convenient that you can easily see which dishes are suitable for you based on your diet or allergies. Unfortunately, not all dishes were available during our visit, we didn't receive all the tapas we ordered, and the dishes were relatively greasy. But there's plenty of choice, and you won't go home hungry.

Absolutely fantastic! We're often at La Cuba, but this is definitely the best location we'll be going to from now on. Great atmosphere, we were able to sit on a cozy balcony. I've eaten here often, but never in Schiedam. Looking back, this is the best La Cubanita I've ever eaten at!

There was no proper explanation upon arrival. I'd requested a quiet spot well in advance and was immediately placed near the door in the crowd. So many dirty glasses and plates on the bar upon arrival, not a pleasant sight. They were offering things that weren't on the menu. Being given the wrong cola when I asked for zero and received regular is not nice for someone with diabetes. I think they were severely understaffed, and that was the cause, so they could improve on that. You spend quite a bit of money, so you should expect some good service in return.

Upon arrival, we were received immediately and politely. The food was also fine and arrived quite quickly! There is plenty of choice and it is a nice concept! We were a group of 4 adults and we enjoyed ourselves. However, if you looked around, there were staff (at least I assume so when they are wearing a La Cubanita shirt) who grabbed a beer and drank it on the terrace with a cigarette. There were also a number of employees at the bar with their phones. At most 4 employees who were working hard to serve everything, the rest were sitting at the bar or on the terrace. These employees did not really radiate whether they enjoyed their work. Maybe a bad day, everyone has those sometimes ;) Other people came in, had made a reservation and were received... but that was it. They were told the table number and that it was upstairs, but one of the employees did not walk with them to the table to show them WHERE exactly they could sit. When paying I was directed to the cash register by the lady behind the bar. No idea where it was, so I just walked in one direction. Eventually found it and was helped nicely by the employee.

Together with my husband, sister and sister-in-law & niece a nice evening at La Cubanita. We arrived quite early so we were welcomed nicely upon arrival and taken to our table. What was noticeable was that the staff was drinking a beer outside on the terrace and some staff were on their phones at the bar. As far as I'm concerned, not really a very professional and productive appearance. That's how it came across to us with the attitude that some staff members adopted. Of course we can all have a bad day now and then, but try not to show this to your customers. New people who arrived later in the evening were referred to their table and sent upstairs. How do you know where to go if you've never been there before? It might be useful to at least walk along to their table, that looks a bit friendlier. The same happened when paying, you were allowed to stand at the cash register but where exactly is that? A real shame! I think you can achieve a lot more by dealing with your customers in a slightly more professional manner.

We had a great meal. We went to the theatre afterwards and our last dishes were quickly catered for, which were brought super fast.

Bad entrance. Grumpy person. There was a malfunction, which caused the app to not work. Understandably, the staff had to switch because of this. But waiting more than 45 minutes for the first drink......and another 20 minutes for the first cold dishes, has nothing to do with this. There were 6 of us, when the "2nd round" was brought, not all dishes from round 1 had been brought. Ordered dishes were not brought, but from the previous round, for example double toast with salmon. After round 3, the remainder of the order from round 1. After asking repeatedly! Staff walked back and forth, but did not pay attention to the table where the order was written on notes because of the malfunction. Eventually, a lot of dishes were brought at a certain point. In between, I asked the staff how or what, yes, she knew about it, but something kept going wrong in the kitchen, she was going to take care of it..... When paying, I talked about this, yes too bad, apologies. But that's all we can do! As compensation (we were 6 people) a drink would not be charged. Well, still nice huh. Bill minus 1 coke...... ( literally 1 drink) Well Cubanita, you are high on the list, not to go to again P.S. this was already a second chance. Had some bad experiences before. But everyone deserves a second chance. They have now lost that.

However, if you choose the Cuba completa menu (drinks included) you must order your drink from one of the employees instead of via the app. They rarely ask if you would like something to drink and empty glasses are overlooked. What a nice experience! From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. The food was really tasty and beautifully presented, and the drinks were on the table surprisingly quickly. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Everything ran smoothly and relaxed. We really enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun and tasty evening out!

First impression very nice. Until you wait half an hour for your drinks and first order. Which was not even given after we received our 2nd order. Just mentioned and luckily it was resolved neatly. Unfortunately, the staff lied to us because the order was delayed due to too long preparation. For a carpaccio and Cuban fries. We ordered the same thing afterwards and it arrived within 10 minutes of absolute nonsense. The salmon in lemon sauce looked like a puddle of duck ejaculation and also contained a bone that almost choked my wife. Oh yes, and not to forget the spare ribs, my little finger was bigger. The tapas concept remains fun and certainly unlimited. Food is good and varied. You always choose dishes yourself via a website (scan QR code on the table). Only if you click on a dish will you get a Spanish explanation. I think the restaurant still looks the same as it did years ago, but there is nothing wrong with it. Unfortunately I can't say the latter about the girls who work there... They are very busy, they always put all kinds of dishes on your table... Well, put? Some people throw it on your table and disappear in a hurry, so you can't ask what something is. There was an employee who calmly put it down and told us what was what. She was also the only one who kept working hard until the end, while the rest mainly chatted.

What a nice place this is with delicious food

*update after 3 days* Still sick from the food. Really not funny. Used to be a nice restaurant. Been there many times. Now you arrive in a street full of garbage, there is a lady in an ice hockey jersey at the entrance, no one comes to your table for the first 15 minutes, children are screaming around you and you spend the rest of the evening (and the morning after) on the toilet. The taste of the food was okay, but I was quite sick from it. In any case, don't come back again.

Had dinner last night and the food was excellent and as you would expect at La Cubanita. However, I had to ask three different waitresses for my drink after it had not been brought after half an hour, but in the end I did not receive it at all. I went with a group of 6 friends but was very disappointed with the system here, rounds 1 and 2 of ordering went well but from there it was downhill, each person only got 1 portion per round. Things were given that we did NOT have and because of the position we had we were sitting at the front door with a cold draft (through a hole in the wall). Long story short, what should have been a fun birthday turned into an evening of poor service. Once never again.

What a gem this place was! Went here with my friends and family from the Netherlands! This will be an annual trip! My only suggestion, if you don't speak the language very well, make sure you know what you order, because with larger groups, they are bringing the food fast, and you have to figure out what you got! I had several different dishes, and every one of them were DELISH! Including the ice cream!

Food is okay, I sent something back twice because there was a hair in it and the tuna taco with spicy sauce smelled like cat food and was sour. Later they indeed indicated that it was older fish and not fresh. Then they asked if we wanted a new one with new fish. We didn't have either as the other dishes were okay

Tasty tapas for a good all-in price.

Too bad you don't get any explanation about ordering. Call it tapas but that is an insult to Spanish cuisine. Albondigas are tasteless factory bouncy balls in tomato sauce. Chicken nuggets drizzled with some honey are called crispy chicken pieces. I can't make a comparison of the squid rings, it didn't make sense. Terrace was messy, a real disappointment.

Jaman was laughing, but it was just a pity that they suddenly brought 2 orders at the same time! We had the feeling that they still had to get it from Cuba, it took a long time (and so did the food) But I'll just come back!
