La Maison Du Velp in Wijk 02 Velp

We were 3 and up stairs was empty. But the guy from the kitchen wanted us to wait for the table infront of the bar without asking us if it was ok if we sit there. I still don’t understand who needs the other in here are we the customer or maybe him. Also not really intusyatseka about the «  crocket….) we left. For people that come from culinaire culture like italy, spain, portugal greece… please don’t waste your time !!

I'm not really one for writing reviews. But we won't be going here again. Not cozy, unfriendly service, takes a long time for lunch to be served. And then soggy, thin rolls from the "supermarket". We should have read the reviews beforehand.

Never experienced anything like this! We thought we were going to have a nice lunch in Velp, but what a disappointment! After ordering the latte macchiato and coffee, I wanted to order a croquette sandwich. Usually, my wife joins me for a bite since she can't handle full portions. However: the waitress clearly and inappropriately indicated that this was not allowed! I wasn't allowed to share my food…. But….. she said she would turn a blind eye…. You think it's a joke, but it really wasn't presented that way. The sandwich and coffee were otherwise fine, but all in all, it was a huge letdown. There was also another waiter or someone walking around, but he didn't say a word. We are never coming here again! Apparently, they aren't waiting for customers!

It looks really nice, but after waiting 20 minutes, no one had come to our table yet. In the meantime, the waitress served other tables (who arrived much later) and we weren't even looked at once. It wasn't even busy! We just left. Normally, I wouldn't be so quick to leave a negative review, but I am so surprised that I am doing it this time. Ugh.

I came here for a nice lunch with my daughter, but it was supposed to take a while because it was so busy. After receiving our drinks, we were told lunch would take more than an hour. This is really not customer-friendly, bringing in people you can't serve. I certainly wouldn't have ordered anything if I'd known that beforehand, so I'll definitely never come back. I actually shouldn't have paid for the drinks, which is unacceptable in my opinion.

It's always busy. It's not very big, but you can sit upstairs or downstairs. You'll receive friendly service and enjoy a delicious meal.

The food is top-notch, but since the second restaurant, there has been different staff at La Maison du Velp, and it is truly abnormally bad. It is a complete shame for the business itself that they haven't been fired yet.

Cozy and hospitable place for a sandwich and a good coffee

Where can you still find chicken livers? Right here, at La Maison in Velp, where my daughter studies and lives, and where we are visiting her today for her birthday. That calls for a pleasant lunch, and that is exactly what we had—with relish—in this lovely lunchroom. But chicken livers, what a surprise. My table companions had the croquettes on bread and the fried egg, and they enjoyed those too. So: give your visit to Velp an upgrade with lunch at La Maison!

A wonderful little brown café where you can relax and enjoy a drink and a snack. The apple strudel with warm vanilla sauce is highly recommended. Oh, and if you ever want to go back in time, try an eggnog with whipped cream.

I only had a cappuccino. But it was very good!!!

Last Sunday, August 24, 2025, five of us wanted to have a nice lunch. The staff greeted us and took our drink orders, and 10 minutes later we were told that lunch wasn't possible because they only cater to four people. I found this strange, as this wasn't mentioned anywhere on the terrace, and the staff didn't even say anything while taking our drink orders. They didn't think of any solutions, so we got up without finishing our drinks. We felt like the staff didn't want to bother us. Not really recommended.

Coffee excellent. Service very good. Presentation great. Nice place to visit.

Had a delicious breakfast, good coffee, great service, lovely seating on the terrace in the morning sun. The only downside is the busy road next door, otherwise absolutely fantastic. (Don't miss the cake display.)

A delicious cappuccino. A wonderful soup that we come back for regularly. The only downside to the soup is that it doesn't come with a baguette or other good bread. Currently, you only get two slices of supermarket bread, which is a real shame.

Unfriendly customer service! We had lunch for €22 per person, but they wouldn't even offer a glass of tap water!

What a disappointing experience. We had to wait an incredibly long time for our food—almost an hour—and when it finally arrived, it turned out to be the wrong order. Instead of bread, we received fries with our steak. The steak wasn't medium rare (as requested) but almost raw. When we pointed this out, the customer service was completely unfriendly. The man who served us was unfriendly, and instead of an apology, we were met with a rude attitude and made to feel like we were an inconvenience. When we subsequently told the female server we were sorry, she made no effort to make it right. A little later, we received free coffee, which was thoughtful. However, we felt unheard, and we will definitely not be returning.

It's nice that it's open on Sundays and the food was delicious.

It can be busy or very hot... Okay. But if you settle down on the terrace in the shade, it's warm and the sun is high in the sky, you're forgotten, while several people arrived later than us. And you wait a bit, raise your hand, not wanting to attract too much attention (fellow terrace-goers), and get no attention. ...well, then you get up and go to the other side. Too bad. It's a nice place to sit, though.

Had a breakfast prepared with care and love. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere is cozy.

After waiting 20 to 30 minutes, I still couldn't place an order. I got up and went to another restaurant. It's a shame, but I won't be back. The wait staff wasn't very friendly, and it wasn't busy either.

We were probably there at the wrong time. It wasn't really busy, but with only one server, it stretched to a nearly 20-minute wait for one coffee and one cappuccino.

Super gezellig plekje. Bediening was vriendelijk en het ging snel. Eten was leuk opgemaakt en super lekker. Ik zou nogmaals terug willen komen voor ontbijt.

We had a fantastic lunch here. A wonderful place, and we'd love to come back. The late-night snack at La Maison is highly recommended!

The atmospheric interior evokes a Viennese coffee house, but we were less than impressed with the automatic coffee and the less-than-fresh pastries. The staff reacted indifferently when we commented on this.

Cozy and atmospheric. The decor is meticulously detailed and I'd describe it as romantic, blending elements of English Victorian style with French vintage. Friendly staff, good coffee, and excellent pastries. Prices are a bit above average, but certainly in relation to the quality. It's a place I'd happily return to whenever I'm in the area.

Really good places and food I highly recommend it

It's a nice little place, but unfortunately, the staff doesn't care about their guests. They wait a long time before you're even seen, and they don't ask if you'd like another drink or if your order is to your liking. The cakes aren't homemade and aren't anything special. Lunch has too many flavors on one sandwich that don't complement each other. I gave them a few tries, but they don't improve.

Highly recommended, good ambiance (nice atmosphere), you can taste the passion, I don't often say this, it felt good ❤️👍🤗

Very cozy on a beautiful summer day. My husband had a delicious bouncer. I got a very small piece of quiche that fit in my hollow molar and a salad without dressing. Too bad about my dish. It was still not enough as a snack. Paid dearly.

Just had a good lunch. Nothing special, but in terms of service and atmosphere it could have been a little better. It came across as just doing what needs to be done but nothing else.

Wat een slechte bediening. Niet druk in de zaak, toch te lang moeten wachten om iets te kunnen bestellen, vervolgens te lang moeten wachten om het te krijgen. Ook de lunchkaart kwam maar niet, zelf moeten halen. Zelf naar de “bar” gelopen om te bestellen. Toen werd meegedeeld dat het minstens 20 minuten zou duren. Uiteindelijk zijn we ergens anders gaan lunchen. Voor mij geen Maison du Velp meer. Maison du Steeg was al eerder van mijn lijstje geschrapt. Beide heren eigenaar kunnen beter achter de geraniums gaan zitten. Daar heeft niemand last van hun ongastvrije en onbeschofte benaderingen.

As soon as you enter you already want to go again. If looks could speak, that was also the request of the staff. The design itself is nice, but there is a lot in a fairly small space, which makes moving around a challenge. Also taking orders in a very unfriendly manner, serving same story, also paying. No, not a nice place to go to, don't recommend it.

We would rather not come with more than 2 people. More than 4 is completely out of the question. Of course, it shouldn't look too much like work. We took our money to another establishment.

Allereerst n leuke zaak qua inrichting, wel wat krap tafels zijn klen en staan dicht op elkaar. Ik had n salade gritenkaas, maar daar zat zoveel gekkigjeid op, cornflakes, pinda,s mandarijn, kiwi, braam, bosbes, appel, rode bes, beetje sla, veel dressing en geitenkaas die heel in de verte naar geitenkaas smaakte. Het leek meer op n fruitsalade. Brood met knofloosaus erbij maakte voor mij de verwarring af. Ik geloof €15 euro wat op zichbest aan de prijs is,

Too many tables in a small space... fire hazard? Sitting shoulder to shoulder with other guests... Glassware from previous guests not cleared from the table... dirty coffee (opinion), grumpy staff... I hope it's a bad day, but I won't be back, unfortunately.

25-01-2024: Dit is nu de 3e keer achter elkaar dat de bediening zonder glimlach slecht is. Niet -vriendelijk, geen oog voor de klant, men kijkt je niet aan bij het antwoord. Echt onbeschoft. Ik denk dan altijd "als je je job niet leuk vindt, zoek dan want anders". Nee, voor mij geen MDV meer. Ik ga liever naar Gio's of naar Hugo's voor de lunch. Daar word je altijd super vriendelijk benaderd.

Tolles Ambiente und leckeres Essen - wir hatten den Burger und der war sensationell gut!

Gezellig klein restaurant met fijne sfeer. Lekkere apfelstrudel met vanillesaus en slagroom. Een aanrader!

Vandaag samen met mijn dochter wezen koffie drinken. Omdat het tegen lunch tijd was wilde mijn dochter een broodje eten. We bestelden een sandwich. Deze kostte 19,50 en was behoorlijk in prijs verhoogd. We wilden dit delen. Mijn dochter is geen grote eter en ik vroeg een mes en vork extra. Er werd mij te verstaan gegeven dat ze dit niet deden en dat ik mij maar bij de baas moest melden. Zoals dit gezegd werd was niet erg vriendelijk en we hebben gewoon samen dit broodje zitten eten. Er werd hard gesproken en er werd tot 3x toe mede gedeeld dat we dit maar moesten melden bij de baas van de locatie in De Steeg. Ik ben hier al heel vaak geweest kom altijd voor de koffie met een extra likeurtje en slagroom. Dit heb ik altijd heel leuk gevonden. Maar van deze benadering was ik niet gediend. Ik vind het zo jammer. Kwam hier heel vaak maar het valt mij op dat er de laatste tijd minder goede bediening is en het minder sfeer heeft.

We zijn hier nu 2x geweest en beide keren was 't goed. Gezellig plekje, met vlotte bediening en prima prijzen. Prima koffie. Zeker een aanrader!

Service zeer inefficiënt waardoor lang wachten en geen mogelijkheid om nog een extra glas wijn te bestellen en mensen over het hoofd werden gezien. Jammer, leuke zaak en kok die goed zijn best doet en zelf het uitstekende eten komt brengen.

Helemaal top! Jong meisje in de bediening die alles alleen moest doen en dat zeer goed deed. Beetje stugge kok die eencompliment naar de bediening niet helemaal op waarde kan schatten maar al met al heel goede en smakelijke lunchgerechten en….. het gebak en de koekjes bij de koffie zijn van de naastgelegen bakker. Jammer, want dan moet je daar ook nog langs 😊

Zo hoort een hamburger te zijn met een eitje en bacon omg deze staat zeker in mijn top 5 lekkerste hamburgers ooit👌😍🍔😋

Wat een leuke plek en wat een heeeerlijke lunch. Heerlijke koffie ook. Dikke aanrader! Als ik meer in buurt woonde zou ik er vaker komen.

Onlangs met mijn dochters een taartje gegeten. Erg vriendelijke ontvangst en dito service. De taartjes van Theunissen waren heerlijk en de doppio Espresso compleet met likeurtje, glaasje water en een koekje.

Heerlijke lunch gehad na een lange wandeling. De bediening was erg vriendelijk en de broodjes waren erg goed! Ook een uitstekende prijs/kwaliteit verhouding.

Gezellig zaakje. Mooi terras en lekker ragout pastei gegeten. Koffie komt met water, koekje en likeurtje.

Bediening super vriendelijk en correct. Lunch: gewoon echt prima. Niet onbelangrijk: toilet keurig. Alleen papieren handdoekenhouder hangt beetje uit het zicht. Maar dat is voor een kniesoor.

Heerlijke kip saté gegeten! Altijd gezellig druk!!!

Gewoon goed eten en zeer gastvrij.

Onze wekelijkse vaste stek. Een uitgebreide cappucino met gebak. Of de zalige kippenlevertjes. Het is altijd touché bij Maison du Velp!

Uitstekende uitsmijter voor hongerige mannen.

Geweldig koffie plateau geserveerd. En erg vriendelijk.

Vriendelijke mensen en het broodje was wel lekker. Veel eten op een bord hoeft niet altijd het beste te zijn.

Heerlijk eten, goed gevulde borden en erg vriendelijk personeel. De koffie wordt leuk geserveerd met een extraatje.

Die vis sandwich is echt een aanrader. Leuke tent en lekker ouderwets. Wel jammer als je buiten wil zitten, dan zit je namelijk wel aan de drukke weg en parkeetplaats.

Even een kopje soep gegeten voorafgaand aan het ziekenhuisbezoek. Heerlijk soep trouwens. Verder een gezellige sfeer met vrindelijk personeel. Top dus.

Na een drukke dag kwam ik om half vier binnen. Lunch bestellen was zeker nog mogelijk. Neem plaats! Heerlijk gegeten en er werd rekening gehouden met mijn KETO eet wensen. Ik heb gesmuld. Gezellig, sfeervol restaurant met gezellige bediening. Dankjewel!

Wat pareltje in deze regio. Echte gezellige Engelse inrichting met heerlijke ontbijt en lunch gerechten. Het is echt een cadeautje om je tijd hier te besteden. Reserveer wel want veel mensen vinden dit een heerlijk geheim.

Leuke gezellige plek in de Franse sfeer. Fijne bediening en een grote keus aan lekkernijen. Zeker de moeite waard.
