La Place in Hoofddorp

Food is expensive. But charging 80 cents for a toilet without a seat, pissed on, with a broken tap and broken gate is really outrageous. I had to crawl on the floor to get out of this hell. No idea what diseases I have caught. Next time I am around here I would rather pee my pants full.

The atmosphere was that of a roadside restaurant. A bit lackluster, but the food was unexpectedly good. The mushroom steak was even excellent. So if you are hungry and in the area you can safely go to La Place.

TERRIBLE lady at the satay apparently didn't feel like her job. Unclear about which container for the salad. Satay crap fat rancid, fries not great either. Thrown away 32.50. And if you eat there a code would be nice for the toilet.

La Place, always good, good food, good atmosphere, friendly staff.

Everything is ok, tasty and nice

Good place to have a quick bite to eat and then continue with the journey. It is not a cozy restaurant, but it has good food and is practically located.

It's always nice to eat, chat and look at the cars above the highway. Today it was very warm outside and luckily a lot cooler inside. We had a roast beef sandwich and a fillet sandwich (brown). And drink 2 bottles. Total €22,?? The roast beef sandwich was a bit sparsely filled and was disappointing overall. The fillet sandwich seemed like a sandwich that was not fresh, it was tough and no longer crunchy, which is a shame! Our visit was disappointing this time, in terms of food. We were kindly helped and unfortunately not pointed out the deal of the day. There was a friendly, calm atmosphere.

Close to Schiphol Airport, it's a convenient stop, for a refreshment and more, easily accessible from both directions.

The staff sees you and just greets you or can I help you? Finally, after some shouting, finally one person responded. The sandwich is made, the taste is fine, but for the amount you pay, the toppings could have been a bit better. Just not the quality and friendliness we used to get.

Antisocial staff. My mother, who is terminally ill, asks very politely for a reason, of course, whether her tuna sandwich can be topped fresh from the refrigerator instead of ready-made. Due to food poisoning and bacteria, she is not allowed to eat it ready-made. The Personnel who had to invest at that time are not older than 15 years. And gives a snort and with a lot of huffing and complaining and pulls the sandwich away and works hard and does it anyway. Then presses the sandwich into her hands. My mother then explains neatly why and the reason and that she does not like it being done this way. She doesn't care. manager is coming too. Immediately annoyed and says well, madam, that didn't happen that way on purpose. It is now finished and spoken. Manager does not ask what happened, does not apologize for the behavior, nothing. Severely antisocial staff sandwiches are the same money as a Goudsmit. And no one even invests for the value. At home I have more for less money. And especially because of how we were treated, it is a bad shit company, never received such bad service in a La Place branch. No words for this branch. I do not recommend it.

What a terrible disaster... We thought we would have a nice bite to eat with friends before going to a concert in the Ziggo. Arrived at 5:30 PM. You could shoot a cannon, so few people. Special, since it's dinner time... Just looking to see what food we could grab. We all found empty dishes!! No well-filled sandwich or any (affordable) hot food. Only soup or limp lettuce that you could serve yourself. You can't pay for soup, so out of sheer misery you get a salad for €7.70. A herb butter sandwich (for which you had to ask for the herb butter and the “cook” struggled to get it) for €3.30. Sandwich didn't need any butter afterwards. You could wring out the fat from this. Too rancid. Knives, as blunt as anything! Cannot be cut. But, we had a “belly filling” for the evening, let's just say… Just a quick visit to the toilet. €0.80 p.p. While before that the 4 of us had eaten for €100!!! Serious????? If only the toilet was still accessible for the disabled. Past the gate, after you have paid, you have to find out that the key can be obtained from the staff. The other toilets had not been cleaned for a week... Again, that for €0.80 p.p. Next time we will stay downstairs at the KFC. Never again at La Place Hoofddorp!!!

Location TOP! Food cold and old, service super slow, staff clearly go against their will. Super expensive, I worked there myself years ago, but man, man, has it deteriorated. It is clean, but if the staff needs some training, they will definitely work very well here!

Came here to stretch our legs... drinking coffee with apple pie...service was good...

Sandwiches are very expensive, fresh juice even more expensive. Lunch for 2 people, 1 sandwich per person, glass of orange juice and coffee €29.20 total. Quality i.v. the price moderate. Next time we'll drive on.

In one word: what an incredibly nice team of employees! You're sitting above a highway eating at a chain and yet you keep coming back? Yes, that's because of the employees. No face, they are really having a good time :-) .Compliment!

⭐☆☆☆☆ On Friday January 17 around 7:30 PM I went to La Place and ordered a chicken satay menu. To my surprise, the chicken was not freshly prepared, but simply taken from the refrigerator and preheated in the oven. I thought this was strange, but I didn't say anything about it. Unfortunately, from the next day I got food poisoning and felt extremely bad. My stomach was completely upside down. Thank you, La Place, for a €19.75 menu and a piece of chicken satay that not only wasn't fresh, but also made me sick. This was the last time I ate with you. Never again!

Disinterested staff and disgusting food, La Place is not what it once was. My wife wanted fresh pasta, but the employee said it was no longer prepared at 7 p.m. My bacon cheeseburger was literally a big greasy mess, very unappetizing! The smoothies were super good though. Hence 2 stars.

La Place is the ideal place for me to have lunch and catch up on emails. Delicious sandwiches, good internet and is left alone.

The one particularly on A4 bridge is a nice one. I recommend their grills and thin crust stone oven pizza.

Great place to eat. Enough choice of sandwiches and hot dishes, etc. Nice that you are above the highway and can look out over it. The disadvantage was that other guests could not clean up their tables themselves after use, which meant that there were dirty trays everywhere.

I was here on a Tuesday, it wasn't super busy. I had the pasta bolognese and my partner had the hamburger with fries. Portions were really more than sufficient. Unfortunately, La Place has also become really pricey. Hygiene was ok. Select cutlery carefully, some forks and spoons had really dirty limescale stains on them. Toilet hygiene was okay.

The staff are all grumpy here, they can't help but smile. No response to “please” and “thank you”. Quite expensive and unpleasant, perhaps throw in a few customer friendliness training courses or arrange a new workforce.

Been a regular place of mine. But after corona everything has gone down in price, quality and taste. At first everything was separate, e.g Vegetarian salads, meat really special. I am allergic to garlic, onion and peppers. At first, salads etc. were prepared without the above products. Now not anymore! You can only sometimes find them at the A4 bridge, but very rarely. You can also see from the number of visitors that things are not going well. I hope that La Place uses the recipes of the past. Success.

Great service, they don't keep you waiting when your sandwich needs to be put in the grill. They will then bring it neatly to the table. Delicious food and wide choices.

Awesome place to dine in. Yummy food, variety of dishes and a perfect ambience. A view of highway from the top is amazing. Kids friendly. Kids play area is available. Already visited 3 times and will go again. Recommended!!!

Something striking is watching the vehicles pass by on the highway that is just below the restaurant and perhaps that is why it is so expensive to eat here and I say this because of the price, quality and quantity ratio. I paid €28 for a bowl with mushrooms that were a little overcooked and had no flavor, the baked chicken thigh was dry and had a slight taste of barbecue sauce, I accompanied it with some roast potatoes that actually looked more like boiled potatoes and for dessert a bowl with some pineapple and watermelon, for a drink a bottle of water. It wasn't very busy yet, there were a lot of people using the pass to access the KFC. Toilets are paid

Food quality was very poor! I've never had such a bad meal here. Where I normally got fresh fries, I now have the feeling that these are fried again (for the 2nd time) and are too hard to eat. Sandwiches have also deteriorated with minimal fillings and that for a decent price. No more La Place next time.

Last Saturday I ordered a pizza and also wanted to take a hamburger menu, the employees of the burger department are so incredibly slow that I decided not to order it. The food is tasty, but in terms of service they could really be better trained. Employee seems like he doesn't feel like working. There is nothing wrong with the pizza itself, it tastes great and was served well.

They "sell" showers, you pay 6€ per person or cash or by card, leave your ID/passport, get key, go downstairs and there are 3 showers, each separately locked.

The two of me ate here and the experience was fine. Sandwiches are very pricey, but well filled. Lemonade and smoothie were tasty and cold. There could be a little more cleaning and the windows swabbed. The view of the highway is nicer if you can see more through the windows.

I've stopped by here a few times over the past 4 years for a review and had dinner but never left a review. All those times it was all doable. Today I was on my own. They have a lot of choice, but be careful that meat, fish and vegetarian are used interchangeably. For example, there was a veggie burger and a piece of salmon that are prepared on the same plate as the meat burger and meat pieces. As a result, I let this go because I was just craving a hot lunch. In the end I ate and drank this: Foccacia sandwich with tuna salad. Was nice for a change. What would make it better is if it was a little warmer. Apricot/lemon cake and meringue. You couldn't taste the apricot very strongly and you certainly couldn't taste the lemon, but the amount of sweetness in this cake was enough to really enjoy it. Iced watermelon juice. This was disappointing: it was not iced at all and not cold either. All in all quite satisfied. Would have preferred a hot lunch, but that was not possible. The replacement (the bun) worked fine. The signs for the sandwiches were not very clear so I asked an employee what was what because the tuna salad and the chicken salad looked similar. The man told me in a rather irritated manner what was what and he walked away angrily. The cashier (male) totally made up for it with his politeness and friendliness. May more people follow suit.

Completely ripped off!!! Last time was last year. We wanted to give it another chance, but now we know for sure, we will never come here again! Super cheap sandwiches for 6.85 euros. When you ask for extra toppings, it is indicated that he cannot do this. If you offer extra payment, it is possible; then you get an extra teaspoon of toppings for 1 euro extra. The gentleman indicates at the cash register that we have to pay 2 euros extra for the 2 sandwiches (while we are still looking around, close to the cash register). Then, when we turn our backs to him, my husband accidentally sees that the gentleman quickly signals to the cashier while pointing at us: "don't forget they have to pay extra". Extremely customer unfriendly behavior!!! We put down 50 euros here; 2 pizzas, 2 sandwiches, 3 drinks. But the gentleman thinks we are going to rob them for 2 euros or something?!! We called in the manager and I made it very clear that the toppings on those sandwiches made no sense at all. The manager indicates that they can't do anything about it because they are weighing the sandwiches, HOW SAD??!! Start weighing sandwiches on the gram??? You can't add an extra teaspoon without having to pay 1 euro extra. Cashier indicates; “but this is la place”, in other words; the restaurant for the meager meals for which you pay full price and pretend they have a Michelin star (because then that's allowed?!).

The best of roadside services. Always look for them whenever we are in the country.

A buffet-style roadside restaurant. The sandwiches are always good, just like the pastries, coffee and smoothies. The hot meals vary in quality but are rarely substandard.

Stopped for coffee. This one was very strong, not tasty anymore. Staff was nice, but toilets are dirty, even though you have to pay. No toilet paper. Next time I'll drive past this quickly.

Unfortunately never had such a terrible experience with La Place. There was hardly anything available for dinner. Ended with a salad and portion of fries. The fries were reheated for the umpteenth time, so they were not yet dark brown. My friend's burgers were raw and the ice from the iced latte was scraped from an ola freezer but it was so little that the iced latte was still warm. Meanwhile, the staff was tying their shoelaces on the workbench. Not what you can expect when you spend almost 50 euros here...

Just dropped my parents off at the airport and figured we'd grab something to eat since this location opens at 8:00. Well, the opening time is a joke. Don't expect there to be any actual food at 8:00, even if they open the doors for you. I don't know why they don't just open an hour later when they actually have the food ready. Probably fine if you just want a coffee but if you're looking for more than that you're better off going to the gas station.

A unique location that gives it an extra star. The latte macchiato also tasted good, as did the large slice of apple-nut pie. The girls at the cash register and coffee corner are very friendly, as they should be. The atmosphere scores low because it was quite dirty on and around the tables and chairs. Not only food leftovers from the guests before us, but clearly also from guests before and perhaps before that. Eventually someone went by with a broom, including the rubbish on the ground... What a shame, such a beautiful location and yet so dirty. It was extremely quiet at that moment, so there were plenty of opportunities to tackle it or better yet: keep track of it. Especially because there were sufficient staff present. Is this structural? No idea, that was our first visit. If we are in the area again we will definitely go for coffee again. Only then can it be better assessed whether this is the case as standard. The coffee and cake were delicious so that is already a reason to go again, especially with a beautiful view of the highway.

The kitchen doesn't look fresh. Hamburger sandwich too expensive in combination with quality. Bacon is placed on the BBQ but goes limp on the sandwich after 2 minutes. Very poor quality and taste.

Had to wait terribly long, people after me got their food before me. This caused my husband's previously ordered food to turn cold. Not that it made much difference, because the fries were already served cold. The food was disproportionately expensive and just not tasty. Servers coughed into their hands and then continued to serve people. Ladies behind the counter took their time despite a long line. Were not friendly and in the meantime they also started a conversation together, so if your food wasn't cold yet, it was then. The table and chairs had not been cleaned for a while. And finally, crazy expensive for a toilet that wasn't even clean. We remain positive for a long time, but this was really TERRIBLE. These prices no longer mean anything and La Place seems to have acquired star allure. They won't see us there again!!
