La Place in Hoofddorp

Very bad at the checkout. I asked for a latte macchiato, she gave me hot chocolate, and she refused to exchange it or give me a refund. Am I a baby or something to drink hot chocolate? This is unprofessional service.

The food is very disgusting and the staff is bad. The Chinese woman was very annoying and unfriendly; she didn't understand what we were saying. Additionally, the wok was terrible. Almost 130 euros wasted on nasty stuff.

I have never experienced anything like this, and I visit many roadside restaurants. This one is filthy, and the staff is unfriendly. There isn't a shred of love in that place. Drive right under it but don't stop; there are much better establishments in the vicinity. Final conclusion: dirty, unfriendly, poor service, and read the fine print if you go for the kids' menu. It is difficult to find anything about the price these days, but this one is definitely too expensive for what you get.

Always a nice place to visit. Cream cheese sandwich with strawberry yogurt smoothie is great. The wok option is also amazing, though they dobt have chillies which will go with it very nicely. I must say that their prices have gone up significantly.

There was no choice; everything was sold out or not yet made. We managed to eat a soup and a sandwich, nothing more.

Normally I am a fan of Laplace, but you weren't greeted and they were preparing for dinner at that moment. So you end up with some leftovers from lunch. Understandable, but not for the prices they charge.

In itself an interesting location, centrally located, close to Schiphol, a base for Amsterdam, Hoofddorp, Leiden, and The Hague. You are literally sitting on top of the highway, with a view of passing cars below you.

The toilet is way too expensive and has a weird name.

The staff are friendly and competent. The food is good and some of it is freshly prepared.

Yuck. This is not what I'm used to from La Place. Broken chairs, covered in stains, food all over the floor and tables, and I won't even start on the toilets 🤢. Service and food otherwise okay.

Really a filthy place, there is still food everywhere and in the kids' area I couldn't even leave my children because it was so dirty.

As Dutch people, we don't like frequenting French motorway restaurants and eateries... this one is heading in the same direction. Koos lacked atmosphere.

Arrived at 22h05. Was closed. Even when it says open till 23 at the entrance.

Very bad experience. No air conditioning and nearly 40 degrees outside. And for 1 euro, you get to use a downright filthy toilet as a bonus. Avoid this place if you value your health and choose the Burger King downstairs, which does have air conditioning. It is truly scandalous that the employees in this sweltering place have to work up a sweat, literally.

The food in La Place is very good, and the service is friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, the temperature inside is so high that it makes it difficult to enjoy the meal. It is simply too hot, and it takes away from the overall dining experience. It’s a shame, because otherwise this would be a great place to eat.

Awful, expensive and disorganised. Took a chicken leg, one piece, paid over 9 €. Potatoes on the side 4 €, a plate of salad 9€. Sorry, never again. Can't recommend.

Had a decent meal for a better stopover. Craving a delicious piece of chicken, but it was very disappointing. Naturally, had to pay for the restroom break again. Too bad.

Closed shower for truck drivers.

Although this is a beautiful, spacious, and comfortable place, the hygiene is unfortunately very poor and really needs to be addressed more. It is truly worrying. Furthermore, there is unfortunately little to nothing for children. Additionally, we would like to see the staff be even friendlier, more helpful, and more welcoming. We come here with expectations and incur costs, so we hope for better service and a more pleasant experience.

Delicious sandwich, prices are unusually high!

The one particularly on A4 bridge is a nice one. I recommend their grills and thin crust stone oven pizza.

Great restaurant for a stop during your drive. Delicious coffee and lots of treats.

They made mango lemonade that doesn't taste like mango. We had to pay full price twice for it, though. A bit of a shame. The food was good.

It is always very busy here. It might not be super clean, but the pizzas are well-topped and taste good.

Due to unfavorable flight times and heart-stopping Schiphol prices, I skipped La Place. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and the price. I eat at Michelin-starred restaurants regularly, so I was a bit hesitant... but seriously, I had a delicious meal. I'm not an ultimate meat lover and opted for hot and cold vegetables, baby potatoes, and hummus. Well, I was amazed; I had a plate overflowing with drinks for 11 euros. I'm sure I would have spent more at the chip shop next door. Honestly though, how gross are those chairs... I'm just looking at this, in a (roadside) restaurant, maybe it's just Formica. I understand that you want to offer comfort, but cleaning is perhaps a bit more important...

The food is okay. Quite pricey for what you get. We spent about €50 :|

It used to be quite good, food quality and price wise, but now its going average place. It was not that busy.. food variety was limited and seriously i feel the quality has gone down.

The tomato soup was lukewarm, so I could gulp it down right away. The coffee was very strong, and the young lady who made it could barely manage a smile. The tables were not cleaned, nor was the floor, which was terribly sticky after someone had spilled something. You could make soup out of the chairs; they are too filthy to touch. Despite many complaints from other customers, they seem to not care. One tip: if it is busy, open the turnstiles at the toilets. Customers crawled on their knees through the "children's gate" to avoid paying. I find €0.80 excessive, and many people don't hand in their tickets.

Burger King. Good ol Burger King. Nothing more Nothing less.

I went to eat at La Place because I didn't feel like cooking at home and expected to have a good meal. Unfortunately, the experience got off to a bad start. Upon entering, I wanted to grab a plate, but I was approached by an employee in a very unfriendly and rude manner. He said in a coarse tone that I had to get a plate “across the street” and not over there. This did not come across as customer-friendly at all and immediately created a negative impression. You certainly expect a bit more hospitality at the pizza section, but this behavior was truly unacceptable. It's a shame, because it immediately ruins the entire experience.

Location Amsterdam: Went in line for 20 minutes, then it turned out the wrong thing had been made. Terribly expensive and the location is not cozy.

These food places are brilliant fresh food huge choice and great cakes.

Passed by here on a friday evening. Never seen such bad attitude towards service 😒 This was at the cashier. She almost tolls her eyes at you and you can feel she doesnt ecen care about her job. Not coming back for sure.

Ever since I moved from Amsterdam to Nieuw-Vennep, this La Place has become my favorite spot to sit and get things done with my laptop over a coffee and a small bite. It offers a decent view over Amsterdam highway with a somewhat refreshing open sky. The food quality is similar to other La Place locations, except that here they make a super delicious pizza that I haven’t found elsewhere. I just hope my positive review doesn’t make it more crowded 😆

We were here around 6 pm on a Sunday. What a rude cashier! She was just busy talking to her colleague and showed so much attitude during my payment. I wouldn't recommend.

Nice place to sit. Especially above the highway. The food was tasty and affordable. I was helped in a friendly manner because I didn't like the vegetables that came with my dish.

We always have lunch here after our annual visit to Leiden. It has become a kind of tradition. However, we are going to look for a different restaurant next time due to the disappointing experience. It has always been quite pricey, but the last time I felt the price-quality ratio was no longer right. 6.95 for a bowl of salad, the same for a small soup; the taste isn't special (anymore) either. The location is nice, though, right above the highway. Service could certainly be better, but that varies from visit to visit.

What a shabby place, it looks terrible, especially the filthy toilets that you don't even have to pay for. If you've spent a lot of money eating there, you still have to ask for a receipt for the toilet. Truly terrible poverty and a dirty mess. The food is way too expensive, especially for self-service in this setting.

I only had a cappuccino that tasted like soap. The restaurant was dirty; all the tables had crumbs or other food residue, and the floor and chairs were covered in it too. No atmosphere, and on top of that, 80 cents for the toilet (with a discount on the receipt).

The view is magnificent! Looking out over the highway was our reason for coming here. And, of course, to visit a filming location from the movie Loenatik 😃 (they just don't have a 'toucan sandwich and a bowl of yogurt', lol). The food is fine, but simple, as is typical for La Place. The wait time is long, but a good reason for that is that much of the food is prepared fresh. The service receives the fewest stars. It is a self-service restaurant, so it is understandable that the staff are not to be found inside the restaurant, but precisely for that reason, you might expect them to be a bit more helpful and friendly behind the counter and 'in the kitchen'. All in all, a fine experience!

Located over the A4 express way. The food was ok. The whole place (including all restaurants) is a bit outdated and may use a renovation. Nevertheless, it was ok. Restroom: 0,80c (March 2026)

I had a lovely time sitting and eating. Nice spot to look at cars too 😄. The food was delicious and there is a nice atmosphere.

It's rude that you have to pay 70 cents to go to the toilet when you just shelled out €64 for food and drinks. Truly ridiculous!

The soup turned out to be almost cold. Due to the busyness and a shortage of staff, there was no possibility of a replacement.

Driver's colleagues, I am writing on March 21, 2026. There is NO SOUL. As the staff said, it is not working, but overall the cafe is not bad.

Be careful with the wok dish; there were black pieces in my food. It looked like particles that had come loose from the inside of the wok pan. I was quite shocked by that, but the staff was very friendly and offered me something else to choose. So be careful!!

The food is good, the selection isn't huge, but it's good. The price is a bit too high for the quality. It's nice that you're above the road.

La Place has also suffered from inflation, and dining for two has become a pricey affair. There's no leniency at the checkout. If you thought the vegetables would be a delicious accompaniment, they're unceremoniously added on for an extra €6.25. Potatoes €3.95, ham €11.95, and a drink. That quickly adds up to around €30. So, I'll skip it for now and, like everyone else, get a prepared meal for half the price. What's wrong here?

Absolutely amazing food and location

La Place has nice sandwiches and smoothies! I prefer to eat here during lunch since it can be very busy around dinner time (long queues). The restaurant has been nicely renovated and has a comfortable and homey feel to it, especially with all the exotic plants! Also, it has flex working spaces.

I often sit at this restaurant with my laptop, ordering coffee, apple pie, and lunch. A rude employee, probably the manager, got the nerve to speak to me because he thought I hadn't enjoyed a drink. He was a very annoying man who wanted to assert his authority. It's a real shame for the other friendly staff. This place is often chosen by mobile workers or people meeting for work. This employee's behavior is costing him money instead of making him money.

Yesterday’s pizza was incredible — the kind that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. The crust was light and crispy, the toppings were fresh, and the cheese stretched beautifully with every slice. Thanks to chef Mou! Pizza from him is exceptionally delicious!

20 people waiting. Two steaks on the grill. I put the salad back and left. The neighbors were always very nice, but they're currently doing some renovations.

After visiting the Ahoy in Rotterdam, I stopped here for dinner. Two pizzas: a hamburger and a chicken thigh. The pizza's shape wasn't great. Bad taste, or rather, no taste at all. Definitely not pizza-worthy. And the hamburger wasn't exactly delicious either. It was a tasteless setting with bland food.

Nice decent food for a quick bite on the go, too bad you have to pay 80 cents for a filthy toilet without running water and soap.

Suit Supply downstairs, Burger King opposite, and upstairs a restroom and even more food options. Cool concept.

Dear employee, I would like to express my dissatisfaction regarding the experience I had at Laplace on November 17th around 6:00 PM. The coffee was prepared by a young female employee—a blonde, slightly taller woman standing next to the cash register—who reacted to both me and my partner in an unfriendly, snappy, and sarcastic manner. My partner first asked if oat milk was available. His response was short, sharp, and unnecessarily unfriendly. After she confirmed that it was available, her attitude remained distant and negative. When I then asked about the cappuccino size, I received another short, snappy, and generally disrespectful response, accompanied by a sarcastic facial expression. During the preparation, she spilled milk while placing it in the milk frother. She also displayed hasty and aggressive movements, such as slamming the cupboard door. This created an unpleasant and even unsafe atmosphere for us as customers. I understand that an employee can be tired while working, but this should never be taken out on the customer. A more professional attitude could have changed a lot—for example, by maintaining a neutral tone and not expressing your own negativity towards the customer. Unfortunately, this didn't happen. This was without a doubt the worst Laplace experience I've ever had. This is especially disappointing because we've been visiting Laplace regularly for years, both in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France, and have always been satisfied. I hope this incident is taken seriously internally so that future customers can experience a more positive and professional service. Sincerely,

I love this place because you can choose from all the varieties they have, it's very clean and organized

They're very unfriendly, selling steak with fries and salad, but you only get a piece of meat; you have to ask for fries, and salad is nowhere to be found. When you get to the cash register, a rude woman stands there, simply charging you for a menu you don't get. When you point this out, the answer is, "It's a menu, that's what you pay for." Suddenly, you can get salad, but it's a completely different place than where you ordered, according to her. So if I have to get salad elsewhere, it's an option, so if I don't get it, I don't have to pay for it. That's not true, according to her. Then she and her colleagues point at you and laugh because they've ripped off another customer.

Nice view on highway to Amsterdam. If anyone who loves the rollout of KLM Aircrafts could stay and make beautifull fotos on Parking! Otherwise you can buy and eat healthy foods and smothies for reasonaböe price.

What a disaster...almost everything was gone, and we arrived around 7:30 pm, satay that was really bad. The guy was friendly, though, and a chef-like person who refilled the tomato and pickles with his bare hands, and a little later, the meat, with the same bare, unwashed hands. The service staff wore gloves...and then there was an unfriendly cashier, not in uniform but in her personal clothes. Perhaps the management as well. In short, you won't see us there again. How awful!!

Beautiful location above the highway with views of the traffic below and Schiphol Airport. Delicious food, but not exactly cheap. Beautifully displayed stalls where you can choose your own meal.

What a mess. The coffee was served without batting an eyelid, half in the cup and half on the saucer. The apple cinnamon cake was clearly days old. Toilets broken and filthy. Someone let their dogs poop, and it remained peacefully all over the hallway. And quite expensive, too. Yuck. Zero stars.

What a filthy mess it is there, I'd rather not sit on the chairs. The food quality is way below par. Never again.

Nice restaurant with a view over the A4

Just one meal, something a little different. The bridge restaurant used to be great, so my girlfriend and I went there. There were no signs explaining things upon arrival. We found the grill, and the staff behind it barely spoke our language. We ordered one steak menu and one satay menu. We had an argument because we ordered fries and they kept asking if they were fries, and yes, they were. Three chefs, talking over each other. We received a small salad bowl a bit back at the entrance. I helped myself, then got back in line. The steak was a thin slice of meat, about 7cm in diameter and 0.5cm thick. The grill wasn't hot, so the steak wasn't cooked through and barely warm. The satay was one skewer. The satay sauce was tasty, but everything was lukewarm, as if it had been reheated. The fries were lukewarm. The only drinks we could choose from were bottles of fruit water. The ice cream was only packaged. The salad tasted like it hadn't been changed in weeks. If it tastes like that at home (rancid and disgusting), it goes in the trash. And all that for almost €43. What a disgrace! It looks more like a third-rate diner with disinterested staff. We had dessert, a soft serve ice cream, at the Febo downstairs. I'm never going back there again.

I hadn't been there in years and was pleasantly surprised. The quality was much higher than before. Lots of beautiful, fresh vegetables. Friendly people who know their craft. What an upgrade. Keep up the good work, dear people.

I really liked the place, a lot of variety of food and the view is different, the prices are a little high but to go once a month it's fine

On our regular vacations, we stop here for a delicious wok. As we approached the restaurant, there was so much trash outside because the bins were overflowing. Once upstairs, we went to the Wok Bali and asked the newly arrived Chinese lady if we could eat. We were immediately scolded for something wrong with the water. We couldn't quite understand her, but she was so mean to us that we didn't dare ask further. We turned to the Italian side, where lasagna was. If only we had waited a bit longer. The lasagna looked good, but once we arrived at the very dirty tables, it turned out to be dried out and not very tasty, and it was also floating in tomato sauce. You might as well have eaten off the floor because there was plenty of it there. It was a mess under the tables as well. We ate half and left. Even the rosé wine wasn't good anymore, but that's no mistake, because we were given a different bottle without any trash in it. La Place, that was it. We won't be back.

Unfortunately, the tuna sandwiches are not as fresh as they used to be on a pistoletje.

Fun place to eat above the highway. Great variety of choices. Clean restrooms.
