Friendly staff. Lovely store, good presentation of the products and clear pricing. Wheelchair accessible (wide entry, no threshold). Parking in the area is a bit of a problem on a Saturday. We tried their croissant, baguette tradition, pain aux raisins and sacristain. Croissant: Good. A fine, well-made and well-baked croissant with a very good texture. Has a rather neutral flavour: not leaning towards sweet (which is a good thing in our opinion for croissants) but also lacking a savoury note and a more pronounced aroma of (cultured) butter. But to be honest: we are absolutely spoiled when it comes to croissants. Pain aux raisins: Disappointing. It was overbaked, too dark and too dry. Lacked flavour other than slightly burned. Sacristain: Good. Crispy and a bit dry, but a surprisingly good texture. Reminded us of kouign-amann but the sacristain has a crispier texture. Nice. Baguette tradition: Very good. We were very pleased with the soft inside, a lovely sour sough texture with a pleasant mild aroma. We should have bought more of these to put in our freezer. Conclusion: if we are in Hilversum again, we will certainly stop by to buy some baguettes and maybe some croissants and sacristains.

The bread and pastries are the best I have ever tried and the staff is very friendly. One of the best bakery shops in Hilversum.

Excellent bakery operating in the French style. French ingredients, French methods, French bread styles. You can see the bakers at work from the shop. Very French, except the service staff which is Dutch. If you want the staff French, you need to go to La Gourmande in Bussum. They also serve amazing patisserie. I especially love the Canelés. This is not a cheap bakery but you get what you pay for. Parking is usually quite easy in front, and there is a big shopping area on the street to buy other stuff if you like. People in wheelchairs can get in no problem. The sunscreen outside was hung too low when I was there and that can give nasty wounds to taller people. They promised to look into it. The air in the shop felt quite heavy, so I am not sure ventilation is up to par.

Bread and pastries are amazing! As well as the service. Staff always greets you and helps you with great service, even holding the door open for you when your hands are too full. We always go on Saturdays and there is often a line/queue outside, but it's worth it.

Delicious bread at the French bakery in Hilversum. You can eat your baguette before you even get home... so delicious!! I always liked coffee rolls, but the last time they were smaller and a bit dry. There is a line out the door on Saturdays. That says enough.

The tastiest baguettes from Goos and the surrounding area. This also applies to croissants and other French bread and pastry products. It's like being in France when you enter here. Addictive.

Real bread, delicious cakes. Here we work according to traditional methods, without additives. Le Fournil makes the only croissants I can eat, because I have an intolerance to bread improvers and emulsifiers (they don't use them). You often have to queue for a while, because this place is very popular. The staff are extremely friendly and very efficient. I order in advance during the holidays, picking up orders is very quick.

Truly the tastiest bread I have ever eaten.💖 My son agrees. Drive by regularly to grab a quick baguette🥖 For birthdays and other special occasions, I get the tarte au citron here. A truly heavenly cake. Visitors always ask where it comes from.😊👍🏼 It is often busy, especially during lunchtime, which I understand very well. But service is always good, fast and friendly.

French bakery with delicious bread.

Finally real baguette and real croissants. When you enter the shop you automatically start speaking French. And expect long lines in the morning. I just got back from France, the Loire region, and every morning I got the baguette tradition, 2 croissants and two pain au Chocolat from various bakeries. Although the baguettes were comparable, I can honestly say that the croissants and pain au Chocolat here are much better and more consistent... Chapeau Sèbastien!!!

I see some remarks about prices but they charge similar what small bakeries usually charge, not supermarket price but not too expensive either. Top notch products, I guess they don't use any unusual ingredients. Some deserts have animal gelatin(dierlijk gelatin) ask before buy if you have sensitivities.

The baguette is so incredibly delicious. Definitely worth the detour for that.

My first visit to the store (a short drive). But I will definitely go back. I was treated very kindly and received information about the products. The lady was clearly enthusiastic about the products herself. Brought different things to taste and everything was equally delicious. The bread is as it should be. Good crust, tasty bread! Next time I'll come buy more and fill my freezer!

Little France in Hilversum. According to my French friends. Le Fournil sells the closest in authentic French croissants. Not too buttery, a good amount of layers and right on the price.

Editing this review because the owner has decided to dismiss my comments. And for the record I understand the difference between crusty and hard. This is just hard. A baguette isn't supposed to pull a tooth. I've been to France many times and never had bread that was so hard to chew. Take the criticism and do better... or don't , it's up to you. Just don't be so quick to dismiss people giving you honest feedback.

Een rii op straat. Beetje irritant maar het zegt natuurlijk wel wat! Gewoon er in gaan staan, het duurt niet lang voordat je heerlijke producten kan kopen.

Die Tartlets sind klein und ziemlich teuer. Der Boden hätte leckerer sein dürfen. Dafür waren die mit Schokocreme gefüllten Windbeutel erstaunlich gut.

Heerlijke bakkerij, waar je proeft dat de producten vers worden gemaakt. Ook haal ik hier graag de Pain d´antan voor mijn kindje.

Heerlijke bakkerij. Met goede prijzen en echte Franse producten die niet bij de Nederlandse bakker te krijgen zijn. Rij om voor deze 👩‍🍳 bakker!

Honestly the best bakery in Hilversum, especially the sesame baguette never makes it home in one piece! Prices are not outrageous for the quality you receive. Personell can be a bit grumpy, but i guess that's just part of the French experience. One thing i've noticed lately is the heavy butter taste in some of the pastries, not a bad thing persé but it is distinct and may be a little offputting. The packaging does not travel well, and they are not very helpful in thinking of solutions.

A fabulous French bakery in Hilversum. Excellent levels of bread and pastry making and very attentive staff. The place is busy with some of the worst queuing you'll ever witness so be patient, but the wait is worth it. Best French bread I've had outside of France without a doubt - and a wide range too.
