I bought a baguette and when I cut it open, there were several flies inside. When I took it back, the response was “it happens”.

The variation in the quality of the croissants is really huge; I cycle 10 km to get them. When I get home, they don't look nice, which is a shame but not too bad; the taste was very disappointing, especially for this price. A few days later, perfect croissants again. From now on, I will check how they look before I buy them.

Hilversum's best bakery for French baguettes and all sorts of French delicacies prepared traditionally. Unique in the Gooi region and definitely worth a detour (or the line that always forms on Saturdays). My favorite is the sesame baguette. Enjoy it the same day, because, as befits a good French baguette, it's by far the best when fresh the same day.

A baker who prioritizes quality. It's no wonder there's a long line of customers outside on weekends. And they're happy to do so.

Don't tell anyone: this is the best bakery I know, and they prepare everything authentically. This bread doesn't need "improving." It's already the best you can get.

The products are high-quality, with good French bread and lovely pastries. The bread is also very reasonably priced, but the sweets, cakes, and small items like croissants are far too expensive.

Great place to grab something yummy. Not cheap but worth it.

If you're looking for something special with your coffee, I always find it here. Delicious flavors, beautiful natural products. The price is a bit higher than average, but that's in proportion to the quality. Every now and then, you deserve to treat yourself to these kinds of treats. My favorites: the Madeleine and the Cannelé de Bordeaux.

Always incredibly tasty bread. Drive specifically to Hilversum for it. Today I was shocked by something sharp in my throat while eating a madeleine, which turned out to be a piece of eggshell!

As a Frenchman passing through Hillversum, I was very happy to discover this high-quality bakery. I tasted and loved two types of baguettes (artisanal, the ones I don't like, the industrially softened ones), strawberry and raspberry tartlets (very fresh and fragrant), and a delicious sandwich, all always served with kindness and a smile. What more could you ask for? I would have liked to stay longer to try more things, there is so much choice. For the price, it seems reasonable given the quality, but I don't know the customs of this country.

Amazing croissant, canele and breads. However, they do not pay enough attention who is first on the line. I gave feedback about this several times, however it was never well received. Moreover, they do not have ‘fougasse’ anymore. I hope they will bring it back in the future.

Fantastic bread and pastries!!! Lots of choice and stable, high quality. Since I live in Hilversum, I always buy bread here for the week. We eat the best bread every day, prepared with good ingredients and according to traditional French recipes.

Absolutely delicious luxury sandwiches and pastries. The special French names give it extra cachet. I would like to make a side note: last weekend I bought three different loaves of bread and to my disappointment there were many large holes in all the loaves. Personally, I think this is rather lousy investing and spreading. And that is what I, as a Dutchman, want with my bread.

Real bread. Delicious crust, bread that you have to chew. I drive 35 minutes for it and then take it with me to put in the freezer at home so that I don't have to do it every day/week. The baguettes are fantastic. Which is a shame, the last time they didn't listen very well and all the bread was cut, everything in plastic and that was not as requested/indicated. 2 employees seemed a bit distracted, things also went wrong when my mother ordered. But still. The bread is great

Friendly staff. Lovely store, good presentation of the products and clear pricing. Wheelchair accessible (wide entry, no threshold). Parking in the area is a bit of a problem on a Saturday. We tried their croissant, baguette tradition, pain aux raisins and sacristain. Croissant: Good. A fine, well-made and well-baked croissant with a very good texture. Has a rather neutral flavour: not leaning towards sweet (which is a good thing in our opinion for croissants) but also lacking a savoury note and a more pronounced aroma of (cultured) butter. But to be honest: we are absolutely spoiled when it comes to croissants. Pain aux raisins: Disappointing. It was overbaked, too dark and too dry. Lacked flavour other than slightly burned. Sacristain: Good. Crispy and a bit dry, but a surprisingly good texture. Reminded us of kouign-amann but the sacristain has a crispier texture. Nice. Baguette tradition: Very good. We were very pleased with the soft inside, a lovely sour sough texture with a pleasant mild aroma. We should have bought more of these to put in our freezer. Conclusion: if we are in Hilversum again, we will certainly stop by to buy some baguettes and maybe some croissants and sacristains.

The bread and pastries are the best I have ever tried and the staff is very friendly. One of the best bakery shops in Hilversum.

Excellent bakery operating in the French style. French ingredients, French methods, French bread styles. You can see the bakers at work from the shop. Very French, except the service staff which is Dutch. If you want the staff French, you need to go to La Gourmande in Bussum. They also serve amazing patisserie. I especially love the Canelés. This is not a cheap bakery but you get what you pay for. Parking is usually quite easy in front, and there is a big shopping area on the street to buy other stuff if you like. People in wheelchairs can get in no problem. The sunscreen outside was hung too low when I was there and that can give nasty wounds to taller people. They promised to look into it. The air in the shop felt quite heavy, so I am not sure ventilation is up to par.

Real bread, delicious cakes. Here we work according to traditional methods, without additives. Le Fournil makes the only croissants I can eat, because I have an intolerance to bread improvers and emulsifiers (they don't use them). You often have to queue for a while, because this place is very popular. The staff are extremely friendly and very efficient. I order in advance during the holidays, picking up orders is very quick.

Finally real baguette and real croissants. When you enter the shop you automatically start speaking French. And expect long lines in the morning. I just got back from France, the Loire region, and every morning I got the baguette tradition, 2 croissants and two pain au Chocolat from various bakeries. Although the baguettes were comparable, I can honestly say that the croissants and pain au Chocolat here are much better and more consistent... Chapeau Sèbastien!!!

I see some remarks about prices but they charge similar what small bakeries usually charge, not supermarket price but not too expensive either. Top notch products, I guess they don't use any unusual ingredients. Some deserts have animal gelatin(dierlijk gelatin) ask before buy if you have sensitivities.
