Le Grand Cafe in Centrum

After 10 minutes, someone finally came to take our order. Coffee and apple pie hadn't been served after 20 minutes. Tables around us also had to wait a long time. It's remarkable that on the Sunday before Christmas, there's only one person working. A colleague had been called in. I asked the waiter, after he'd already served several tables, if our coffee was still coming. "Oh, something must have gone wrong with the order..." "Never mind, we're going." "Have a nice evening," was his reply. It's a shame for this restaurant, with its lovely winter terrace, to let guests walk away like that.

We hadn't been here in years because of the terrible service, but decided to give it another try. Wrong. It was absolutely terrible again. We sat in a half-empty restaurant for 15 minutes without anyone coming to help us. Our neighbors had to ask for attention, and even then, the staff didn't realize we were still there. We finally left after 15 minutes—without anyone noticing. What an incredibly awful place!

Two days ago, I ordered two glasses of Chardonnay. But the second glass was completely different from the first—it tasted sweet. I mentioned this to the waiter, but he insisted it was the same Chardonnay. I left without finishing the second glass.

Sat there for an hour. After fifteen minutes, I went to order at the bar, but we were supposed to be served at the table. We weren't. It was cheap that way, and we were dry.

A great place to sit. Admittedly, it takes a while to get your order, but if you're in good company, it's not noticeable. A mistake with the bitterballen we ordered was resolved quickly. We'll have another drink.

My girlfriend and I were sitting on the terrace here and had already ordered something to drink. A little later the woman comes back and indicates that they think my girlfriend seems to be under the influence and that this does not give a good impression to the other people on and around the terrace. My girlfriend indicates that she has high ADHD and wants to prove this, but the lady was not allowed to pour anything and sends us away. I think it is ridiculous that we were treated this way!

I was sent off the terrace tonight because there were suspicions that I was under the influence. When I explained that I have serious ADHD and can prove it, the waitress indicated that it is not a pleasant sight for the other people on the terrace. I think it is ridiculous that I was simply sent away for something that I cannot do anything about. Even in star restaurants I was allowed to stay, but not on this terrace. Very painful

Gezellig terras. Snelle en goede bediening. Biertjes en ook een goede saté. Fijne binnenruimte om na te borrelen. Altijd goed!

Food is good. Service could really be better, having to wait too long for your order. They promised to come, but it took at least another half hour. Wine glasses were not clean. Terrace heating defective. We won't go back here.

Nice place, but the food is nothing special. We were having lunch, olive oil was dripping from the carpacio bagel and the sandwich seems nice and big, but unfortunately it has no crunch or taste.

Very cozy place with very knowledgeable staff. They work hard and do everything they can to make you happy. Tim in particular is a very good force, he really made our evening!

Bestelden een borrelplank, echter er blijkt een goedkope en duurdere variant te zijn. Bij afrekenen bleek de borrelplank niet 10 maar 20 € te kosten. Op de vraag waarom dat niet vooraf gecommuniceerd was, werd de ober kwaad en wees met zijn vinger op de menukaart, "dat had je toch zelf kunnen zien" bulkte hij. Ja dus? Je vraagt dat toch wat de klant wil?? Na afrekenen liepen wij weg en riep hij nog 3x "tot ziens hè". Wat een brutale onbeschofte bediening. Ook duurde het veel te lang voordat de bestelling kwam.

Had a few snacks and drinks here at the end of the day. Cozy place, service is good. But also understaffed here. Bread with spreads was very tasty! The mayonnaise served with the bami balls is also delicious. All in all a very positive experience.

Great service and a cozy atmosphere to sit inside. Inside they have different 'spots' how everything is laid out. So nice to sit with the two of you or a group of 6. Actually my regular café to go to.

Had lunch, delicious Pinot Grigio and prosecco. The appetizer board was excellent. Staff were friendly and prices are average.

Had a delicious lunch on Sunday December 17, 2023, the Thai soup was delicious! Pleasant and smooth service. Cozy seating areas and nice atmosphere. Great to chat with. Located on the Korenmarkt, so we walked straight into the center to the Christmas market. Also recommended!

Come here regularly, always great service and good food. The only point for improvement is that it is a bit too cold. Maybe something extra near the door to keep the cold out.

Erg fijn restaurant en heerlijk gegeten. Stonden op de camperplaats en is goed te lopen. Erg gezellig en komen er zeker nog een keer. Kipsate en mixed grill echt een aanrader.

Met de keuken nog 40 minuten open weigerde de chef nog eten te koken waardoor wij hongerig bleven

Erg leuke plek, inrichting en het eten prima in orde. Bij het laatste bezoek was het alleen erg jammer dat het leek alsof het bedienend personeel er weinig zin in had, lang wachten en de service with a smile was op dat moment ver te zoeken.....

We hebben daar een heerlijke lunch gehad, broodje gerookte zalm voor mij en een club sandwich voor mijn dochter. Gelukkig voor mij spreekt mijn dochter Engels, want de ober sprak ons in het Engels aan. Dat vond ik zelf wel een beetje vreemd.

Heerlijk geluncht, vriendelijke bediening en gezellig terras.

Twee keer hier geweest voor drankjes en een hapje, de eerste keer nacho’s bij ons drankje besteld, na bijna 45 min gewacht te hebben nogmaals gevraagd waar het bleef. Bediening gaf aan dat het eraan kwam, nog een uur daar gezeten en helaas geen nacho’s gekregen of excuses. De tweede keer weer nacho’s besteld, na weer ruim 45 min gewacht te hebben gevraagd aan de bediening waar het bleef, ze gaven aan het vergeten te zijn. Zoals de vorige keer zagen wij om ons heen dat anderen wel hun portie nacho’s op tafel kregen. Na 10 min kregen we toch onze nacho’s, wel erg jammer dat we daar extra naar moesten vragen

Vaste prik tussen de films door (Pathe).

Wat is het hier achteruit gegaan. 2 meisjes op bomvol terras dat is toch veel te weinig, zolang wachten om te bestellen en voor je het krijgt, of je een 2e drankje wilt wordt niet gevraagd hoe hard je ook zwaait met je glas ze lopen met oogkleppen op. Schuld van personeel? NEE! Schuld van de eigenaar die ik nog nooit gezien heb. Ik mis daar een leidinggevend persoon die ook het personeel opleid. Wij gaan er niet meer naartoe helemaal klaar mee. Helaas.

Op een warme zomer avond op het terras gezeten. 2 man personeel op een heel vol terras. Lang op drankje moeten wachten. Eenmaal de wijn was de wijn niet goed meer. 2x bittergarnituur bestelt omdat we het niet kregen hier een dik uur op zitten wachten. Al met al slechte service.

We moesten enorm lang wachten totdat we geholpen werden, terwijl dame bediening zag dat we gingen zitten. Vervolgens binnen besteld en mijn vriendin ging naar wc en werd tegen elkaar gezegd en maar denken dat we zomaar drankjes opnemen. Tent ernaast, cafe Arnhem, is de volgende keer weer onze vaste plek. Wat een trieste ervaring zeg....

Eten van het niveau eetcafé, goed voor een snelle hap. Bediening is helaas traag, kortaf. Zo kwam ons voorgerecht tegelijk met het hoofdgerecht en kwamen ze geen drankjes opnemen. Komen hier niet snel weer.

Onlangs op het terras gezeten bij Le Grand Cafe omdat het bij Cafe Arnhem vol zat. En nu snap ik waarom het terras vrijwel leeg was. Bediening laat erg lang op zich wachten. Na 15 minuten zelf maar naar binnen gelopen en vragen om bediening. Mopperend komt er iemand aan tafel en na weer 15 minuten komen de (verkeerde) drankjes. Diepe zucht bij bediening. En bij afrekenen duurde het ook lang voor iemand kwam. Kortom als je lang wilt wachten op vanalles, ga dan vooral naar Le Grand Cafe Arnhem.

Erg lang wachten...geen gekwalificeerd personeel...1 persoon die bestellingen op nam en moest afrekenen...ander personeel bracht alle bestellingen bijna verkeerd

Leuk ingericht Grand Cafe met lekkere banken en mooie tafeltje. Het eten is echt goed en genoeg keuze aan dranken (ook koffie of thee veel variatie). Ik had de Kipsate en de nacho's pulled chicken die erg lekker waren. Je kan merken dat het lastig is personeel te krijgen. Sommige spreken geen Nederlands en zijn een beetje onwennig/onhandig maar de bedoeling is goed

Paar keer geweest op door de weekse avonden. Service 3 sterren, maar dat is een gemiddelde. Serveren personeel doet hun best (neem aan lokale studenten) maar de manager loopt soms rond alsof ze de eigenaar is. Sfeer mag beter en daarmee bedoel ik ook de kaarsen die vervangen kunnen worden en de tafeltjes die schoner mogen.

Te horen dat we het niet ver zouden schoppen in het leven. Dat we bij de eerste greppel in de afslag zouden belanden. En dan nog zouden we nooit de goot bereiken. Hooguit vreselijk.
