The Cavern Café in Centrum

What a horrible place! We were forced to buy a drink or we'd be kicked out. The prices were ridiculous too! At one point, three of their staff members attacked a young man who hadn't done anything wrong. I'm never coming back here.

Horrible pub where the staff intimidates you and you can't even get a glass of water. This place is your last resort if you're still in town at 4 a.m., and even then, you're better off getting a kebab from the snack bar next door and going home. Avoid this shitty place at all costs!

When I first came here 40 years ago, it became our local pub. Those days are long gone. But we still enjoyed a good time there, reminiscing. The music was a bit loud for us "oldies," but hey, we wanted to talk.

It's completely changed. It used to be a pretty nice place. But not anymore. Everything is overpriced, and you almost never get exactly what you order. The bartenders are incredibly rude. It's a shame there used to be a good atmosphere, but now it's become a shady place.

At the cavern, you're judged by your friends' behavior, regardless of whether you act normal or not.

The atmosphere is great, the music is always good, and the quality is definitely in the top 3 in Arnhem. The decor is also 5 stars. This is a real homecoming after a long day.

Very nice bar with a wide range of delicious cocktails. A little bit of a bummer that it has multiple Trump and MAGA signs hanging on the wall (did not notice any MAGA-mindset from the staff so i guess no harm). Nice music playing and good vibes all around.

It is difficult to give a score. On the one hand, the decor glorifies the genocide of the Palestinians. But on the other hand, they do have very tasty chocolate milk with whipped cream and they are open when all the other bars are closed.

Top service. They always come straight to you, a real addition to the catering industry. Cocktails top, wide choice. (be sure to ask for the cocktail menu) Cozy atmosphere, open every day as the only pub in Arnhem. I always feel very safe there, I have the feeling that people are paying close attention. All in all very satisfied, I will come back soon.

The Cavern is generally known in Arnhem as the place where you end up if you want to continue for a while, but the rest is already closed. If you are a little on time you can still sit, but it doesn't matter because if it's a bit busy you won't be able to hear your neighbor. But a good place to get drunk on Long Islands. In short, much more fun on the quiet days. It makes a difference that you don't have to go to the bar to order, as soon as your drink is finished you are asked if you want something new.

I'm biased because this is one of my favourite places in Arnhem but it really is just an all-around great place to be an have a good time with your mates

I was shocked when I saw signs hanging inside here suggesting that these people support fascist figures like Trump. When I now read several reviews here about how people of non-"Dutch" descent are refused at the door, it is like adding 1 and 1 together. Scary tent.

It was nice but not quite my style, mainly because it is one of the few places that is still open until 5 at night.

Bar. Open until the sun comes up (in summer😅). Lots of drunk people, still friendly staff.

Me and a friend went to the boys' toilet because the girls' toilet was very full. We are then grabbed by our arms and thrown out. Didn't even have a chance to have a drink. What a ball tent.

Aanrader! De sfeer is goed en de gekke random bordjes maken het helemaal af. Verder is het personeel altijd aardig, gezellig en ook fair in alle situaties.

Amazing vibes. We met david again, our best friend and resident of Arnhem. The man didnt know what water was, but we drank tap in the womens bathroom and chated up some gals. Wpuld not come back tho, it is in straight square.

Top bediening. Leukste barman van Arnhem!

Niet alleen ik, maar ook anderen zijn onwillekeurig buiten gezet of niet eens binnen gelaten. Ik zag al vaker andere mensen waarmee ik kletste ineens naar buiten worden gebracht terwijl ze er zelf niks van snapten. Altijd riepen ze iets met drugs terwijl dat niet het geval was. Kende die mensen niet dus dacht; het zal wel. Tot het mij overkwam. Vaak geweest en ineens moest ik naar buiten. Mijn jas mocht ik niet eens meer pakken. Winterse nacht was het. Aan de uitsmijter vroeg ik waarom ik eruit moest en die zei dat ik een vrouw had lastig gevallen. Een raar verhaal vond ik. Maar volgens hem kon dat toch gewoon gebeuren. Nadat ik hem vertelde dat ik vrouwen met rust laat omdat ik op mannen val, moest 'ie lachen. Ik vroeg hem mij die vrouw aan te wijzen zodat ik excuses kon maken. Maar dat kon niet en was te laat (natuurlijk want het was verzonnen). Ik wilde naar binnen lopen om mijn jas te pakken, maar dat mocht niet. Toch gedaan, fiets- en huissleutel zaten erin. Toen ik naar buiten liep stond de politie klaar die mijn ID vorderde. Ik ken inmiddels meerdere mensen met wie vergelijkbare situaties zijn voorgekomen. De eigenaar zegt dat het op videobeeld staat (net als bij die anderen), maar die beelden worden nooit vrijgegeven. Ook niet via politie of via meldpunt discriminatie. Het is bekend bij politie en politiek dat dit gebeurt in uitgaansgebied Arnhem en specifiek bij The Cavern. De laatste keer bij een vriend hing er een FvD poster bij de ingang. Als je een leuke avond hebt en wilt houden, raad ik een ieder af daar geld uit geven.

Altijd een gezellige sfeer. Lekkere cocktails, goede muziek en de leukste barmannen.

Het maakt niet uit wat je doet, je eindigt hier toch wel! Barpersoneel is verder top!

Je loopt erheen en je denkt het wordt niks. Je komt binnen en het bleek alles te zijn. Ziet er super gaaf uit en er zijn prima hits en leuk aanbod qua biertjes. Ik stootte mijn biertje om en er werd me een nieuwe aangeboden voor niks. Niet aangenomen want ik ga verantwoordelijk om met alcohol maar zo gaat het wel!

Eigenlijk is het pas gezellig na 02 uur als de rest van de Korenmarkt leegloopt. Voor die tijd vage muziek waarmee regelmatig alle bezoekers worden weggejaagd.

De longdrink glazen doen me aan reageerbuisjes denken. Helaas denken ze hier dat ik het verschil tussen cola lite/zero en normale cola niet proef. De eerste keer heb ik er iets van gezegd. Na enig overleg werd de fout hersteld. Maar ging helaas bij de volgende weer mis. Ook werd er een een klant d.m.v. een nekklem uit de kelder verwijderd. Ook viel me op dat er pro trump en Israel propaganda aan de muur hangt.

The drinks here are excellent! The bartenders were super friendly and the vibe was great. It was packed to the brim by closing, and the space is kinda small but overall we had a fantastic time. Would go again!

Visited this place 40 years ago drafted for military services in Schaarsbergen, lot of nice memories. The interior is still the same, special attention for the ceiling. If you loved "Cheers" the tv series you have to visit this place. Go down on the stairs and feel like Sam Malone.

Difficult to know the bar is there as the entrance is quite unobtrusive, but the decor and atmosphere are lovely. Barman was friendly and helpful and cocktails were tasty, a good underground bar experience!
