Friendly staff and a great menu. Unfortunately it was just a bit too loud in the restaurant as the conversations from the nearby group made it difficult to enjoy the evening.

Great restaurant in Ams. The quality of the ingredients were supreme. A dinner to remember for sure. The only drawback was that the portions were quite small and I lest the restaurant hungry. I had to go buy croquettes afterwards at Febo.

The food was of extraordinary quality; the pork starter was exceptionally tender, with an incredible jus. The Angus beef was equally superb. My partner had scallops as a starter and breathtaking cod as a main course. Slow-cooked, with a perfectly executed jus. Bravo! Dessert was a bit of a letdown; the lemon meringue tart wasn't up to par with those in France, but the rest of the meal was of a very high standard.

Dinner in a courtyard practically in the dark. We couldn't read the menu and the staff didn't speak French. Very Noisy. We decided not to stay and we lost €20 deposit.

I absolutely love Lion Noir. I've lived in Amsterdam for 5 years now, and it is consistently my favorite place to enjoy a nice lunch or dinner - especially on the patio! The inside is moody and cozy. Don't forget to try their oyster trio! Each oyster has a unique flavor profile, and they are to die for! Oh and their scallop dish as well as the sandwiches my friends ordered were also delicious.

Unfortunately this time both main dishes were not up to the standard :(. We had beef that was chewy and extremely poorly trimmed of scraps from the second dish , fish with orzo, the clams were full of sand. I hope this was just a mistake as I use to love this restaurant and their terrace.

We had a wonderful evening at Lion noir. We started with Cava and oysters before enjoying their 4 course tasting menu with wine pairing. Food was exquisite, wines delicious and the service from Lola was both friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place.

For the price the portions are small and they feel incomplete as in that a side dish or some vegetables were missing. Also, the wine glasses are filled to a minimum level. All in all we left the restaurant still feeling hungry and not completely satisfied.

This place never fails to deliver. One of my go to spots in Amsterdam. Great house red and impeccable scallops, lovely attentive service at bar

Amazing food, including quite some nice experimental food. The restaurant also looks nice. Only a pity that we had to wait almost an hour for dessert and pay €27 for 4 bottles of water that were already opened on the table.

Durante nuestra estancia en Amsterdam visitamos el restaurante Lion Noir. Este es un maravilloso restaurante francés en una zona de restaurantes muy concurrida. Cuentan con una zona ajardinada donde podrá disfrutar de su comida al aire libre. Fuimos amablemente recibidos. El servicio fue amable y atento. La comida muy sabrosa y bien presentada. A medida que el lugar estaba más ocupado el servicio se volvió notablemente más lento. Tal vez la cocina llega a su límite.

Food was good but the portion was very small. Despite the starter and dessert, we weren't really full.

Without doubt one of the best meals I have ever had. The tasting menu is incredible. Just sit back and let the very friendly and knowledgable staff bring you the most delicious selection of dishes. I can not recommend highly enough and will definitely be going back. Atmosphere was lively and good fun too.

Great bar! The only place we visited twice on our trip to Amsterdam. The staff was super friendly and the drinks were absolutely delicious. They have an amazing garden in the back. If you lucky enough, you might get a seat there. We tried probably 3/4 of the cocktails on their list and would happily drink them all again. The 'p.martini' and the 'Lionjito' are must haves. Haven't had dinner here or the bar snacks but will try that for sure the next time we are in Amsterdam.

Very helpful staff, they have a chat with you and are immediately ready to answer your questions and explain everything you need to know. We were also positively surprised with the food that was brought to us. Good wine certainly came in handy.

We made a reservation online and left a €40 deposit. When we arrived, they took us upstairs to a nicely decorated room but here was an unpleasant smell lingering in the room, sort of like sewage. They left us at the table with no menus or drinks for a long time. When they finally gave us a menu, there was only one vegetarian main on the menu and it wasn’t something we could eat. We mentioned this to the waitress and she directed us to the starters, of which there was only grilled aubergine and burrata, neither of which were suitable as a main. We politely said we couldn’t eat here and explained to the waitress about the deposit. She told us we’d be able to have this refunded. We waited at the table for her to return then finally gave up and went to the bar to ask for the €40 refund. The manager then refused to give us anything, but after some haggling agreed to give us only half back. Overall the customer service was very poor and the menu is terrible for vegetarians.

Absolutely fantastic meal at this establishment. We were recommended this place by a friend and they did not disappoint. The food was amazing and the staff were very attentive to our needs. Anybody who is looking for some fine dining food when visiting Amsterdam then this is the place to come!

Very cozy restaurant with good price quality and very friendly service.

Nice discovery in the bustling touristy street of Amsterdam, area we wouldn’t have picked a priori for a romantic dinner, but the decor and ambiance tempted us. The surprise menu was lovely, yet not amazing. The risotto with its very interesting composition was tasty, but should not be called a risotto - the waiter did warn us! Looking forward to returning and try the terrace when the weather warms us.

Posto davvero carino, staff cortese e cibo buono. Qualche minuto in più di attesa tra le portate, ma più che comprensibile. Ci torneremo sicuramente!

Overall, a really nice experience. We had booked a same day reservation for 19:00, and we arrived before the rush and had our choice of table. We were quickly greeted, offered water, and soon thereafter we order a manhattan and an Alice in wonderland cocktail. Both were spot-on refreshing. We then ordered the 5-course chef’s menu. All courses were good, but the highlight was the seared scallops in beurre blanc. Perfectly cooked and balanced with crispy tempura. A close second was the braised beef short rib, though we did find it a bit salty. And the final course, the dessert, was a combination of grapefruit and other citrus flavors with meringue, chocolate cake crumble and caramel planks. Definitely planning to return to try some delicious sounding plates on their a la cart menu.

Fabulous from start to finish. Great meal and the steak was cooked literally to perfection. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant was so busy which is always a great sign. Good place to eat quality if you are ever in Amsterdam!

Service was goed en de sfeer heel knus. Service dacht goed mee en was vriendelijk. Maar het eten was heel slecht. Weinig smaak, veel te duur en de porties klopten totaal niet. De pulpo was heel veel en de black angus was heel weinig. Daarnaast was de spinazi puree net soep en was smaakloos. Je bent als je niet te gek doet 100 euro pp kwijt wat het totaal niet waard is. Kun je net zo goed bij ron blaauw eten.

Very nice atmosphere on a Friday evening. We did try some appetizers which were very nice together with some drinks. The staff was great and the interior design. The place is also interesting.

Quite a limited menu, especially if your guests are a bit apprehensive about European cuisine. But the food is excellent, albeit with very small portion sizes. Staff friendly and helpful. Atmosphere good, if a little too noisy for easy conversation across a larger table.

Хорошее место для посиделок, не очень шумно и есть терраса во внутреннем дворике. Особенно понравились свежие устрицы, три вида и все вкусные. Цены высоковаты, но еда хорошая. Меню могло быть и шире, но я надеюсь оно часто меняется.

It was okay, it was not okay if I think about the final bil l. The food was nothing special; we went there for the oysters but after I ordered them, the kitchen realized that they were not available anymore (even tho they were still on the menu). The only worthy plate was the main. Nice atmosphere but the waitress left the door open during all our dinner. I asked to close the door but this happened only after 15 minutes I asked so in the meantime I was cold. Service was good compared with the low quality dutch service.

In de mooie binnentuin gezeten, gelukkig mochten de heaters aan want het was wat frisjes (Nederlandse zomer 😅). We hebben voor het verassingsmenu gekozen en konden dieet wensen doorgeven. Met 1 gerecht misgegaan maar na aangeven is het direct meegenomen en gecorrigeerd. Eten was heerlijk, wijntjes waren top en bediening was heel goed en vriendelijk. Werden bediend door een blonde dame en onze complimenten, wat een topper!!

The restaurant is beautiful and the courtyard where we ate is peaceful and romantic. We had such a lovely meal and we stayed for hours, enjoying our last night in Amsterdam. The service was amazing; the staff are very helpful and friendly, they even gave us blankets when we got cold! The food itself was delicious and the wine we had was lovely. The whole evening was simply perfect.

Lion Noir heeft een prachtige binnentuin in hartje Amsterdam waar je geweldig goed kunt eten. Gisteravond met een gezelschap van 6 personen genoten van het chef's menu. De oesters met gember zijn waanzinnig! Uitgebreide wijn en cocktail keuzes. Hartelijke en attente medewerkers maken de beleving compleet! Een "must do" in Amsterdam.

Tbh, this place is hidden gem and it surprises me with its gorgeous terrace, tasted food and amazing staffs. The entire environment is chill and trendy. The owner has his own vibe and he is super lovely! I love the atmosphere,plus food! Will definitely go there again!

Wonderfull dinner! Staff was delightfull. We had the risotto and burrata. They charged a more expensive wine at the end by accident, but made up for it in an exquisite way. Allround good experience.
