Terribly unfriendly and very bad service.

My 12-year-old son wasn't even allowed to use the toilet here, even if he paid. Shame on you!

Placed an order and picked it up. When we got home, we discovered that the chicken in two dishes was raw, and the nasi was also sour. We contacted them immediately, and they promised to refund us for our next order. We eventually returned the dishes, and the owner and another employee disputed that the nasi was sour and the chicken raw. We were fobbed off with a bag of croup. No chance of a repeat order.

A very bad experience. Spoiled and raw food, poor service, and they promise compensation, but in the end, you get nothing to compensate for the spoiled and raw food that was returned!

Ordered food here more often and I have to say not super but not bad either. But what we had today seems to come completely out of the microwave, it was really not edible at all. We will never order from here again immediately. How can you manage to ruin a complete menu of 40 euros. Never experienced anything like this at a Chinese restaurant, it was really pathetic. Everything immediately in the bin because it is difficult to pay attention to the food. End of exercise for us!

Dutch-Indonesian Chinese food. Paid parking nearby. The social deal is a €20 set meal, which includes a soup, eight small dishes, rice, and noodles. Chinese tea is an extra €6; the owner didn't mention this when asking what we wanted to drink initially, and we only found out about the extra charge before leaving.

Very delicious food. I had a Chinese bami dish with four different ingredients, including babi pangang and sateh. There was plenty and it was well prepared. The service was friendly and attentive.

Bad reviews from social deal users, 20 euro for all you can eat and there was option on table: two types of soup nothing more to choose, plate with snacks was good, but not all you can eat for sure.

The tom yam kung was delicious and the same goes for the Peking duck with plum sauce. It is quiet in the restaurant, which makes eating on site less pleasant.

Very bad service, I have never experienced anything like that when you work in the catering industry and your guests are totally unfriendly.

I just ate here with my daughter. Unfortunately some of the food arrived cold. There was nothing to choose from and the sauces and meat tasted incredibly bland. The icing on the cake were silver fish on the table and on the curtains. For us it was the first and last time here. PS: the service was friendly

Yesterday I was denied access to the toilet (for a fee). Was referred to public, which was not accessible for me, with physical impairments (foot orthosis). After humiliating repeated begging, I was then allowed to use it. Incredibly unfriendly!!!

Ordered for delivery. On the website you can indicate different options for times, which is what I did. Then I get a call that the delivery person is not yet employed. Which means I don't have food at my desired time.

Never find another place to eat crappy food again

Chinese food. Really nice quality and awesome taste. We ordered eend with rice and had a nice little spicy sauce (yo shing). What we got was a plate of eend. A cup with enough sauce and a pot of rice. As I said taste really good. Toilets were a bit glue‘y but all in all nice experience. We paid 50€ for 2 men.

Unfortunately we didn't like the food and got something else instead of fried rice.

We were warmly welcomed and had a delicious meal in a cozy atmosphere. Owner was super helpful and friendly. The dishes were fragrant and fresh and beautifully served. I would happily eat there again in the future and can recommend it. Excellent service, quality and value for money.

Very good attention to the presentation in the restaurant. Nice and warm atmosphere, good decoration. The menu is diverse, with children menu possibilities. This restaurant was already known to all Venlo residents and the many Germans who came to do their shopping in Venlo every day. After a wandering to Arcen, they returned to Venlo without having lost any of the quality and taste of the dishes. It is a good and solid restaurant with a good name. Always worth a try.

We have been loyal guests at Chinese-Indian restaurant Lotus for more than thirty years, and we would like to share our positive experience. One of the reasons we keep coming back is because the chefs always take our diet and intolerances into account. It is very nice to know that we can dine here without any worries. The Singapore satay and the salmon with chili sauce are our favorite dishes. The flavors are always consistent and delicious. What is striking is that the sauces here are still made in-house, and with fresh products. At a time when more and more Chinese restaurants are closing, we're happy that businesses like this are still around. Our many years of loyalty to this business speaks for itself, and we are happy to keep coming back. Family Bosscher

That was the worst restaurant visit we have ever experienced. They are unfriendly, unprofessional and greedy operators. I never write reviews, but out of disbelief I have to say this: We were the only guests in the restaurant (Saturday, September 16th, 2023 - around 2:00 p.m.) Table choice: The waitress wanted to seat us at a round table, even after we asked three times to sit at a square table opposite us. Only after we remained "stubborn" were we allowed to sit at our desired table (of course all the tables were free - we don't know what that meant). At that moment we probably would have had to flee. Beverages: We ordered, among other things, Cola Zero. It came in these little bottles. After the first sip I noticed that something was wrong. The cola tasted stale. Then I looked at the label and lo and behold: All three wrong ones had expired and the best before date had already been exceeded. Something like that really shouldn't happen in a restaurant. After I complained we at least got three new bottles. Cola about guest: The waitress knocked over my Coke bottle while serving the food. Of course this can happen and is not a problem at all. I even made a joke of it and said "this would happen to me all the time at home". However, after a few minutes I was speechless again. I did NOT get a new bottle of Coke. Admittedly there wasn't much left in the bottle, but just enough to get me wet. That would have been the minimum apology. But these people's greed knows no bounds. An absolute disgrace. Eat: We asked kindly if we could get pasta with chicken and vegetables, among other things. Of course that wasn't possible and she referred to the menu (she wanted to sell far too expensive dishes that we didn't want). The problem was that all the dishes came with a sauce and then I had to take chicken with vegetables and a sweet and sour sauce. Why you can't choose another way or why you don't want it is a mystery to me. It's just a shame that you don't get what you actually want just because it's not exactly on the menu. The food itself was O.K. - but far from good. The chicken was definitely not fresh (probably frozen). Payment and farewell (packaging) I paid the bill after dinner on the way to the toilet. It really wasn't cheap and I still gave a little tip. I then asked that we please pack the remaining food. The waitress then brought the food packaged to the table and asked for 30 cents!!! Not only is this super embarrassing and uncomfortable because I invited the people at the table, this kind of thing makes me stunned. I had paid the expensive bill with a tip and she then insisted that you pay another €0.30 for a packaging box (these were those standard cheap things). How ripped off and outrageous is that? This can be calculated mixed and was already compensated 100-fold in the exorbitant food and drink prices. Then we actually had to pick out the 30 cents at the table and were finally allowed to leave. I can only advise you not to visit this restaurant. The service gave us such a negative feeling and we feel really ripped off. If I had been alone I probably wouldn't have even accepted the bill or would have left halfway through. I will share my experience on: Tripadvisor, Yelp and restaurant-guru as well as on social media (travel blog). I would expect the owners to at least apologize and the money should actually be paid back. You really can't do it that way and treat customers. I will also publish the review in English.

Today we had another delicious meal at De Lotus! We had the Gonboa chi (chicken dish), duck in Hyusiang sauce, Hotpan shrimp, salmon in Thai chili sauce and of course the Singapore satay! According to my husband who often visits Singapore, really authentic! We always end with a delicious Chinese tea. Highly recommended 👌

The overall dining experience was top-notch, and I left Lotus feeling eager to return. If you're looking for a memorable Asian dining experience, Lotus is definitely worth a visit.

A bit of a drive for me, but I'm willing to do it. The tomato soup is superb.

It was inedible and I threw it all away

Spring roll, limp pancake and burnt. Foeyonghay burnt. Baby pangang dry. In my opinion reasonable.. All in all Rancid! Price quality poor.

A Chinese restaurant like I would like in Germany!!! The negative reviews are really out of place here!!! The Babi Pang Gang is buttery tender and very tasty!!! Anyone who is not satisfied here has no idea!!! Keep it up, I always enjoy coming to eat with you!!!

Very good food in a cozy atmosphere. My son had Bami rames special, and I had Nasi Lotus. And this rice table was impressive: satay, babi pangang, vegetable emelette, etc. Would be happy again at any time.

I like to eat the classic Dutch "Chinese". So I usually get takeout. For me Lotus is the best in the area.

Just ordered food. Everything was lukewarm and cold. If they want to watch the final, close the tent and don't bring cold food around. Ordered babi pangang (pig) and ajam pangang (chicken) with noodles. Everything was thrown into a container. Under the noodles and on top of the noodles the pork and chicken meat are spread together. Come on, that's not possible! For us, Lotus is now No, so.

Better chip shop, service OK, food nothing special, ambience absolutely standard, nice is different

A good, decent Chinese! The All You Eat concept with freshly prepared dishes is good value for money, but is only offered for groups of 2 or more, although this is not mentioned anywhere on the menu or online

We had Indonesian dishes (babi ketjap, nasi and bami goreng, Sate). Food was awful. Very blunt, not tasty at all. The place was also not very clean, the floor was sticky. The baby chair was also dirty.

Yesterday March 6, 2022. Got Chinese for 6 people. Started with a spring roll. I can't make it better than not eating. The outside looked like a pancake. Babi pangang was a mess of meat. Also a container of canned vegetables. Chicken curry with 3 pieces of chicken. To end with positive feedback. The prawn crackers were edible. Lotus Asian Cuisine. Shame on you for delivering something like that.

Great food. The dishes are fresh and tasty. Try the pork tenderloin satay with the delicious peanut sauce. The vegetarian dish with bean curd and mini pak choi was also fantastic. And then the hot pan with chicken, worth repeating, all served in a delicious sauce. Also nice was the conversation with the owner, to get to know their long history of restaurants in the area. Everything perfect!

Lotus Asian cuisine is a disgrace to Asian culture. The cooking is done by a bad chef. Who doesn't know how to cook Asian food. Nasi rames with peas and carrots from a can, canned flavor can still be tasted but certainly not nasi rames, meat is tough and tasteless as if it came straight from a can

Also a nice location for fun anniversary, group dinners.

The all you can eat buffet was very tasty and is highly recommended (approx. €25 per person). The quality is above average and the service was also very friendly. People also regularly ask whether something should be brought later. Rarely visited such a good Asian restaurant. Drink prices are a bit high.

Very good original Dutch Chinese

Good food ! Fresh and tasty! However, the portions (nasi) are only half a portion compared to other Chinese restaurants. Also the babipangang/foeyanghai. Fewer. Shame

Delicious food. Meat was nicely seasoned and well done. The sauces delicious. We were 7 people, everyone had something different and everyone was very satisfied with the quality.

The food differs in taste from other Asian/Chinese restaurants, but NOT in a bad way. Its simply put delicious. I can recommend number 78 (nasi/bami met sate). Relatively cheap too.

Ordered almost monthly when possible throughout the lockdown. Not once was it a problem to order a dish without egg due to an allergy. Unfortunately, after placing an order today, we received a call back that they no longer do this. We will look for a Chinese who is customer-oriented, even in the better times.

Before the owner changes we came here more often to take away a Chinese rice table for 2. Normally this was enough for 2 days at 4 persons and it was very tasty. Now you get less food and the quality is also terrible. We won't come back to this restaurant.

Very fast and friendly delivery with even a small gift. The food was absolutely perfect. Not standard Chinese. Meat was juicy and tender. Not tough or stale. Not too much salt and spices. Everything exactly in balance and with great taste. Vegetables very fresh and crispy. Simply very good! Really enjoyed it. Worth repeating. Not the same as all other Chinese restaurants in the area. Recommended!

Unfortunately the food was not really warm

The food is very tasty, wonderfully spiced and slightly different. Portions are significantly smaller than you would expect from regular Chinese food, and more expensive. Unfortunately, something has gone wrong with every order so far: Nasi rames every time without accompanying nuts, coconut, atjar and prawn crackers. The amount to be paid is different every time... Telephone orders always go wrong. Young man at reception and telephone makes mistake after mistake, but does not admit or at least say sorry.... Very frustrating

Delicious food and friendly service

Got a takeaway menu tonight from the Leow family of Lotus restaurant in Venlo. An Indian rice table for 2 people, Cauliflower/Broccoli in oyster sauce and shrimp in garlic sauce. In a word: Wow. Delicious and honest different meat and vegetable dishes. So many variations of flavors. Exquisitely tender beef in combination with perfect sauce. And the best gift of all. Thanks to the delicious food I felt like I was back in time. On the first floor on the corner of the market square of the town hall in Venlo to be precise. Many wonderful memories passed by tonight. Thanks for the delicious food. Glad you are back in Venlo. No view of the town hall this time, but now on one of the banks of the enchanting Maas. See you soon.

In my opinion the best oriental restaurant in the area. Anyone who dares to go a little further than the standard dishes will be pleasantly surprised here. The salmon in chili sauce is excellent. Sauces and sambal are made fresh, not from a jar. And the service is extremely friendly and correct. I always liked coming here and was sad to see them leave Arcen. Today I got food for the first time at a new location in Venlo. (Takeaway only due to Corona issues) I had a delicious meal again.

Bad experience with this restaurant. Bought a takeaway menu including a container of vegetables that had spoiled. Brought it back and according to this Chinese there was nothing wrong with it and she didn't even say sorry! My wife and I both got sick from it. So our advice is please stay away from there.

Are you sitting on Little Finch and thinking, I fancy Chinese. Not over here. Often get Chinese food in different places so I'm used to something, but this one is number 1 in terms of worst ever. Tough nasi, burnt noodles at the bottom of the container and even the fu yong hai was brown, which is good for frying an egg. Satay was old and tough. I would say drive further to another Chinese restaurant. They don't come worse than this.

This is the worst dining experience in years Everything warmed up and dry. Didn't see anyone to ask in between There were only 8 people in the restaurant. So plenty of time. Only when you take it out do you ask yourself whether you enjoyed it. You could see that because everything was still there Response from the waiter Worthless, surely? We hear that often. But we paid quickly and ate a large coup of ice cream at Clevers WE SHOULD HAVE DONE RIGHT.

Attentive service (including mineral water (!) refilled twice). We always eat something that isn't available very often in Chinese restaurants in Germany: Foo yun hai (spelled something like that), a delicious egg dish. We have known and appreciated the house for decades. Large parking lot right in front of the door.

Large restaurant with friendly hostess. In May 2018 we had a delicious Chinese-Indian rice table here. There is room for at least a hundred guests and there may also be some tables behind the restaurant in the garden. We recommend this restaurant.

Quality and affordable friendly service

First time eating here with the kids. Everything tasted the same. Bami was tough. Nasi was bland. Chicken satay was sour, after indicating this it was said that it was prepared yesterday. We left more than half of the dishes behind. This was a real disappointment, I could have cooked better myself. They said sorry, but she didn't do anything about the price, it really wasn't worth it. All 3 of us are now feeling nauseous and this has really affected us. The first and last time for us.

Two days ago I picked up nasi / bami and a meat dish (King do yu'k) here. We didn't really expect much, but we were hungry and wanted rice. The lady is nice. And that was the only positive thing about this. The food is terribly bad, and that was just an understatement. Go to Aldie, buy those containers there and heat them up at home. The stuff from the supermarket tastes even better. This restaurant is simply an insult to us, Asian cuisine. Will we come back here? Never again in my life.

DO NOT! When we came to pick it up, two people walked in and complained that the Babi Pangang didn't taste like anything. Then some bells started ringing. When we got home we discovered that instead of 2x Babi Pangang and 2x Foe Yong Hai we only had 1 of each. In retrospect this wasn't a big deal. The Foe Yong Hai tasted like peanut scrambled eggs. The Babi Pangang wasn't much better. The prawn crackers tasted like they were very old. All in all, Lotus is not recommended. If you can, go somewhere else.
