Lunchroom Jaffna ( De Jong ) in Hoorn

Today I got a chicken breast sandwich with teriyaki sauce at Jaffna. The chicken was bone dry and most likely reheated in the microwave, causing dry, hard edges to form. The teriyaki sauce also didn't taste like teriyaki sauce, but like a cheap ready-made sauce from the supermarket. Very disappointed and unfortunately wasted almost 11 euros.

Truly a great lunchroom! The coffee is delicious. I am now also very curious about the food, so I will definitely come back to try it. The owner is incredibly friendly and hospitable. You feel welcome here immediately. I also always have my packages delivered and dropped off here, and I have never had any problems with that. Highly recommended!

Not worthy of a star as a parcel point. Nowhere on Google could I find that the opening hours of the parcel point are apparently different from those of the lunchroom itself. So, on a Saturday, I came for nothing. While I waited unsuspectingly at the parcel counter—where all the parcels were lying out in the open, by the way—an uninterested man called out from behind a table, "No packages, no packages." He didn't bother to get up from the table; no "sorry for the confusion." Instead, he complained that he has to process a large number of parcels every week. Yes, that’s what happens when you become a parcel point; it’s part of the deal. Part of the job. Tip: if processing parcels is really *that* tiring but you do need the income, put a parcel locker/Vinted Go machine in your establishment. You get your income and you don't have to turn people away; people are happy too. Win-win situation.

Unfortunately, my package was sent to this location instead of my designated drop-off point. The message I subsequently received—"your package is ready at this address"—contained no mention of any opening hours. When I arrived, I quickly spotted the note on the door stating that no packages are accepted on Saturdays. I stepped inside anyway. The entire place was truly empty! Packages were everywhere, just waiting to be grabbed. The gentleman was immediately clearly irritated that I had stepped inside. I pointed out that it wasn't signposted. He said it was. Fine. If you are truly too lazy to get up in an empty shop to drop off a package, then don't run a drop-off point. I could understand it if the place was full. But presumably, no one wants to eat at such a grumpy place.

Service isn't good as a Vinted pickup point.

What a terrible parcel point this is. One day they don't accept anything because they simply don't feel like it, the next they just set their own times. I've been there five times for the same package. But because they're doing "lunch time" in the store, they're not accepting it. Sorry, but there was one person drinking coffee, and scanning takes a second. The woman was literally staring into space because there was nothing to do. Don't be a parcel point if you find it so awful. They're also unnecessarily rude. If it had happened just once, I would never have left a review, but this is the umpteenth time it's a hassle. Seriously, don't bring your package here; go to a locker because they apparently don't want to accept it anyway.

I tried in vain to get them to the parcel post office. They don't deliver on Saturdays. They also have limited delivery hours. Not very convenient.

Delicious coffee with good apple pie, the rice with chicken is also recommended.

The food and drinks were terrible, and the atmosphere was also terrible. People were constantly arguing about packages. The staff was also terrible and not very smart.

I use this parcel point often. I find the owner to be a nice guy, and I've never had any problems! I always get help quickly :) I think it's clearly stated that they don't accept parcels at certain times.

This man is sitting in a completely empty lunchroom at lunchtime, doing nothing, refusing to accept packages because he doesn't accept them at this hour. Even though it's empty. And if he does accept them, he happily makes you wait 10 minutes.

It's about a package! On Ascension Day I received a message that my package was there. Picked it up on Monday, the gentleman couldn't find it and would call me back.. the gentleman was busy but I called myself, now he claimed that my package with my name on it wasn't there or wasn't there! Very strange! I thought okay then I'll stay polite, right? I'll stay calm, sir, there was nothing I could do?! Reported to Vinted and started an investigation, the next day I already received a message that the gentleman had received a package from Vinted Go and it was also reported that I had picked up my package!!!!!!! So I don't get any money back I'M SO ANGRY, WHAT A SCAMMER, really outrageous!!!!! I hope the gentleman will soon receive many complaints as a result of which packages will no longer be allowed to arrive!

Wtf, who comes up with the idea to accept this as a postal package, owner refuses to help on Saturday. It is not mentioned anywhere. And during the week between 12 and 14 also not. The man also gets angry that you are bothering him on Saturday. Ridiculous that this is accepted as a service point

I came today to pick up parcels. Mr was on his phone, 2 customers in the restaurant, but because it was Saturday I didn't get my parcels. Very unfriendly to customers, I will not come back here.

Not for lunch or something like that, but as a package point. What a three-letter location to pick up or deliver a package. They are open to this when it suits them. For example, closed on Saturdays while working people in the Netherlands have time to pick up. There is nothing about this online either. There will only be a note about this when you arrive at the door! Lunchroom almost empty but no opportunity to go the extra mile… I hope that one will soon be added in Alphen that simply uses normal times or clearly states this so that you don't drive for nothing.

As a lunchroom I have no judgement, but as a parcel point this is a very bad location. The parcel point is only available when it suits them. If you decide to start a package point, do it 100% and not when you feel like it!

I had my package delivered to this restaurant, then I drive 15 minutes here to hear that they don't give out packages on Saturdays? The restaurant was EMPTY and the owner was sitting at a table on his cell phone. I saw my package behind the counter, but it was sent away without it. They also do not deliver between 12 and 2 pm during the week. I have no idea how I will get my package now since I can only go during the weekend 😡

Friendly man. Very difficult to reach for picking up/delivering packages. NOT possible at all on Saturdays and NOT during the week between 12 noon and 2 pm. But this is only stated on the door.

Food was not hygienic, there was hair in my food. Also unable to collect my packages due to different methods. Is very rude customer service, the old man is very mean and the old lady are both very mean, rude people, came in with a small baby several times and was treated so rudely, this is a terrible company, never go here!

I think you should contact Homerr with your complaints! Sterrenlaan is also still listed on their site as a homerrr point, but it is completely closed. I also showed up at the door at the wrong time, but I was helped very well and was treated in a friendly manner! Excellent service. Now homerr still has to keep their site up to date!

Indicates that it is Homerr parcel point from 9 a.m. on Saturday. My husband was there with a large package to drop off at 9:30 am, but the package point is not open as indicated on various websites!

Had lunch at Jaffna. Friendly service. Cozy atmosphere. The large bouncer tasted delicious and for little money. In addition, cassis, tasty soft drink for a low price. I really liked Jaffna. Recommended. I will definitely come back for dinner. Jan Boxma.

Bought a bottle of coke here today, it had a strange taste. Turned out to be more than a year out of date! I took it back, but the only response was "forgot to throw it away and I don't have any Coke anymore." I suggested taking another bottle (water). So I didn't come up with a solution myself and worst of all; I didn't even get an apology. Not exactly nice at 38 weeks of pregnancy! I won't be coming back here again.

Yesterday morning my girlfriend ordered an iced coffee as take-away for €5.25, she received this large cup. Up to the blue line was actually filled with ice coffee. Up to the black line with whipped cream. See attached photos. After this I went back with her from the car to ask what happened? I have given the gentleman the opportunity to correct this. He was not willing to solve this, his only response was "I don't have any smaller cups." So we will never come here again, you get almost nothing for your money. See the extra photo I added where you can see that you get a well-filled cup. If you eat it in the restaurant. There were also 2 women inside who looked at us quite angrily during the conversation... very unfortunate. Now you have this bad review.

Underrated in my opinion! Delicious fresh food and very fair prices, something you don't often see anymore. And pleasant service. Own entrepreneur who takes the time for a chat. Too bad about the negative reactions just because of your package. Next time, have a nice cup of coffee instead of complaining that you have to wait a while before they can scan it 😚

His parcel point but then closed between 12.30 and 14.30. I was there at 2.20 but not a chance. The 'connection' will not be switched on again until 2.30 pm. I know a few like that. I understand that their business is the lunchroom, but if there is no chicken you can be helped.

Very bad service. Register as pick-up points and then you cannot pick up your package between 12 and 2:30 PM because the boss thinks it is a waste of time and wants to have a quiet lunch. Tried to tell him that it had to be changed on their site, so that you know about it before you arrive at the door, the gentleman did not want to listen and blamed the delivery service. Very unprofessional! Never have anything delivered there again.

When I come to drop off a package, an employee who is eating tells me that I have to read the form at the counter: packages can only be returned from half past three (it is 2:15 PM). 4 staff... if I wanted to come back, staff were now having lunch. Yes, bye, I will never come back!

What a sweet and helpful staff. Everyone is welcome, from young to old, for a nice cup of coffee or something freshly prepared to eat. It may take a while, but then you will have something that is made for you and not ready-made and heated up in a microwave or something. Support your locals

Waited an hour for food that you can get 4x cheaper and tastier in a snack bar. They are more concerned with a parcel point than with the restaurant. We all felt sick from the food. I think they are in the wrong industry. Furthermore, the owner was nice but not recommended.

Terrible place. Extremely customer unfriendly. Seemed like a bunch of elderly people worked there. Everything went so slowly. We waited 2 hours for a pancake and customers who came in later were helped earlier. Never again!!!

What a cozy tent this is. Nicely dressed and a nice chat. Excellent lunch room with great choice and variety. People with a heart for the cause. I don't quite understand some of the negative reactions. We were politely told that they only have two burners and that a pancake could take a little longer. The food was fine and well prepared. Of course it is not a star tent, but that is not necessary for a nice and pleasant meal.

We ate excellent pancakes with the family and a committed owner worked in the service. Handy that there is a play corner for children. Case looked nice and fresh.

We ate incredibly delicious pancakes (unlimited) here last Saturday! I also really liked the smoothie with mango. They have a children's corner and a lot of toys that we could entertain our toddler with. The service was also good and we felt welcome here. Unfortunately, there was only one high chair available and it was occupied by someone else upon arrival. It looks a bit messy because of the patio furniture and parasols inside. The menu and prices look good and I'm curious about how the rest tastes.
