Super nice, relaxed, and very special place

Nice, cozy, and tasteful restaurant! We had a delicious meal at MaMa’s last night. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was very good. We had several small dishes to share, which made it extra enjoyable. The location is also very special: it is great fun to be able to sit both on and in the boat. In short, a lovely place with tasty food and a cozy atmosphere. Definitely worth a return visit!

Super nice place and very friendly ladies serving us. We spent a day driving around Doetinchem with E-shopper and had something to eat and drink at various places. A really nice concept. Afterwards, we enjoyed some drinks at MaMa with the super charcuterie board.

Lovely spot by the water in beautiful Doetinchem. The food was delicious and fun to share. The sangria is also highly recommended. Once we looked inside the ship, we were even more surprised. 10/10

Requests to omit certain herbs or vegetables due to allergies were also no problem. Top place. Top people and top food.

I don't think my review gives an accurate picture. I was here for a special occasion. But the atmosphere is good. It has a sort of alternative beach bar vibe. I quite like it here.

We celebrated a beautiful 50th wedding anniversary at Mama’s. The Matroosjes team at Mama’s really spoiled us with delicious bites, such as a luxury charcuterie board, tasty and unique snacks, and loaded fries—both vegetarian and rendang—at the end of the party. We are very satisfied.

MaMa's is a ship that has been converted into a restaurant. You can dine at the stern or under the trees on the spacious quay. You can park nearby at the 'Varkensweide'. My beloved and I wanted to grab a bite to eat in Doetinchem. And we came across MaMa's. It was decorated and displayed in such a delightfully different way. The official restaurant is actually located in the cargo hold of a ship. We went downstairs. We thought it was amazing. I really needed to use the restroom and asked if that was possible. "Of course, sir." Meanwhile, my partner went to look at the menu. Personally, I would have liked to eat here. Because the menu looked just a little different from other restaurants. That made me curious. But my partner wasn't convinced. So we politely declined. The friendly staff thought it was a shame but understood. We left the ship. As we walked across the terrace among the various people dining on the quay, my beloved said: "It looks very tasty!" She very kindly went to ask someone what they had ordered. Well, my partner got very excited about that. So we turned around and went back to the ship, up the gangplank, stepped into the cabin, and down the stairs into the cargo hold. The waitresses were surprised and happy to see us back. There are plenty of vegetarian dishes. And what we found very pleasant; you put together your own menu. You don't have a complete meal where the meat is automatically served with fries and salad. You can (especially for those with a small appetite) just take a meat or fish dish and no side dishes. Or just a bowl with fries, salad, or whatever else. My beloved had bitterballen with Basil fries. I went for the vegetarian "Boedah Bowl" with mushrooms and the Basil fries as well. Well... what a taste sensation this is. The fries were garnished with mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, and of course Basil. Very, very tasty. The vegetarian bowl with salad and rice is a real treat. While eating, we had already discussed that we will be coming back here with a few friends who also enjoy different, tasty food. By the way, we saw their charcuterie board go by... Wow. We’ll go for that next time. Final conclusion? MaMa's is highly recommended. I wish you a delicious meal.

A nice surprise! We sat inside the ship in a cozy and warm atmosphere. Lovely decor, a varied and original menu, delicious dishes, professional service, and a nice discount in combination with Amphion (theatre dining). I think it would also be lovely to sit outside in good weather. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed the Easter brunch with our family (5 people). Delicious dishes, where allergies and preferences were taken into account. Excellent! Pleasant atmosphere and service to match. The price-quality ratio is great. We will definitely be back this summer!

I had lunch here, and the buddha bowl turned out to be inspired by the minimalist lifestyle of a monk. The portion was so modest that I briefly thought it was just garnish. I have eaten buddha bowls often, but this was the first mini version for which they charged top dollar without batting an eye. My friend's burger was also a plain affair. No sauce or spices, hardly any toppings, no fries or salad on the side. Just an expensive, bare bun. It's a wonderful place for the atmosphere, but if you want to eat well and have enough for that money in addition to a hip interior, you'd be better off walking a bit further towards the city center.

We had a wonderful time!! We were warmly welcomed and the ship has a nice, warm interior. The food was delicious! The menu is clear and features unique dishes. Yes, it is not cheap, but that is to be expected given the quality they provide. We will definitely be back again!!

The food was truly substandard. Small portions for way too much money, served way too late and placed on the table lukewarm. Not prepared with much love; you basically just get a rather dry, lukewarm hamburger without any accompanying sauce, pressed between an uninspired supermarket bun, on a small plate without any further garnish. And that is 16 euros, please. For this amount, you expect at least some raw vegetables on the table and a small handful of fries on your plate. Other dishes on the table were also shockingly small. Ordered fries separately, but at best they were lukewarm (just like the hamburger) with Parmesan splattered on top. Loaded fries, but not quite. Not seasoned either. It wasn't extremely bad, but shrinkflation has really reached extreme levels here, so that's why: absolutely not recommended. The decor is cozy and the location unique, but you're better off eating at a snack bar.

Reservations are recommended! We were there on Saturday and it was packed. It is a street food concept where the dishes are somewhat smaller and easy to share. There is plenty of choice for vegetarians! We ate 2 'rounds' of 3 dishes each, and both had dessert. 6 dishes for two people is the minimum; ordering less is not recommended. We had to wait quite a long time for the first round; there were two larger groups causing that, but the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious and definitely worth the wait. Parking is available right outside; a day pass is 4 euros.

A visit here is a must. The vegan dishes are exceptionally good, and the rest of the menu offers truly delicious options as well. Highly recommended! The service is warm and attentive, the ambiance cozy and charming – a little gem on the water. The pictures speak for themselves: A visit is definitely worthwhile.

The restaurant is located on a decommissioned ship moored on the IJssel River. There's also a beach bar on the waterfront. The atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy, and the service was fantastic and very friendly. A highlight in Doetinchem! Thank you again for the lovely evening!

A somewhat contradictory review... The whole picture is correct. Good food. We were helped by the owner and she is just a wonderfully crazy woman 😉 Service was good. The atmosphere is also good. But... €15.50 for a veggie burger (beyond meat... so great) without fries or anything on the side... that is quite high... especially with the amount of competition in the city center... By chance we ended up at you. What a nice location and what tasty snacks. Shared dining is always good! Delicious food, good service and a nice atmosphere. Too bad we don't live nearby, otherwise we would definitely come more often.

One of the nicest and most beautiful places to drink a cup of coffee or something else in Doetinchem. From the deck of the ship you have a beautiful view of the city and the blue bridge. You already feel like you're on holiday.

Had a wonderful evening. Everything tastes fresh and super delicious! The portions are like intermediate courses, perfect for trying everything. But for the price it is on the small side, I don't eat much and it wasn't full. The quality is really great, but still a bit too expensive for me. Service is very nice and very friendly. The atmosphere is great, nicely decorated, you can sit outside in a relaxed, open atmosphere. Games included, right at the campsite! Drinks sometimes take a bit long and are not matched to the food, which could be improved. Also very progressive and thinking about the environment. Good asset in Doetinchem! All in all a good experience, with some areas for improvement. Keep it going😊 Update: This time the three of us opted for the surprise menu and it included all kinds of delicious dishes. The table of two people next to us also had that, these were the same dishes, but also almost the same size portions. We therefore think the €32.50 p.p. for the tasting is very expensive. We also get sweet potato fries as part of a 'course', which you would rather expect as a side dish. All in all, the surprise menu costs a lot more and you are better off choosing things yourself. The wine could also be served more, with a price of no less than €7.50, we were disappointed with the quantity and therefore did not order another… But there is no arguing about the food itself, everything was tasty, well prepared and beautifully presented. The service is friendly and it is a casual, relaxed place. It's not super fast, which is nice if you set your mind to it. It is a nice place to go, although the service could pay a little more attention to each table. You don't always feel seen and have to beckon a lot, but that may be different at other times.

MaMa's is truly a lasting asset to Doetinchem. The boat has been redecorated inside and has become even more fun. The terrace outside when the weather is nice really has a holiday/festival atmosphere and invites you to bare toes in the sand.

Together with my brother and father we are away for a weekend in this beautiful area. After a fantastic day, with fantastic encounters, we were allowed to eat in this fantastic restaurant! It is already cool that it is located in a beautifully decorated old freight ship. Upon entering there was a cozy and cheerful atmosphere from a team of enthusiastic employees in the semi-open 'galley', a good introduction! In addition to the cozy atmosphere throughout the ship, the food was also of fantastic quality: original dishes, all of which tasted great. Nice that they are all smaller intermediate dishes so that you can all share and taste everything! Even the cheeseburger is cut into pieces (on request)! The number of dishes on the menu is limited, but not too limited and ensures that what they offer is really very good. We also ordered some things from the drinks menu, which is not always 'allowed' or possible. The waitress helped us fantastically all evening with a big smile and made the evening complete, so Ela: thank you on behalf of the three cheerful men from last weekend at one of your tables!

MaMa's is a great hip spot where you can eat and drink well. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is friendly and alert. The food - street food concept - certainly does not detract from this either; I went for the bao with pulled oyster mushroom and it was delicious! Also nice to combine different lunch dishes. We will be back!

My ribeye was returned from the menu three times because the meat was cold. The service kept insisting that the temperature was as it should have been served. On the menu you can only get sweet potato fries, regular fries or fried potatoes are not possible. I think it's pretty bad and I won't eat there again. And I haven't even mentioned the price yet

Delicious food on a boat. Beautiful atmosphere and friendly people, there is a good atmosphere. Definitely worth it in combination with the theater promotion. Recommended for everyone.

Although I like the concept, the food was disappointing. I did like the flavor of the satay served with the mushrooms but the mushrooms itself lacked flavor and texture. The pita didn’t taste fresh, the cauliflower lacked a lot of flavor too which again seemed only flavored by the sauce. Really I can only recommend the Flammkuchen with Gorgonzola.

First the food: we had a drink and lunch here with a large group. I ordered a hamburger myself. It took quite a while for lunch to be served. The hamburger itself was very tasty (and surprising), but very small. You might expect that lunch won't leave an average eater hungry, but that certainly happened with this (quite pricey) burger. We had also booked an activity there (Olde Iesel expedition), during a break we were able to have a drink. But at the end of the break the drinks were far from ready. The service was not very fast all day, but it was very slow. Due to the slowness of the service, our activity was shortened. I am not familiar with the concept of Expedition Robinson, but from the other people in my group I understood that Expedition Olde Iesel did not have much to do with it.

HOTTEST and tastiest latte in Doetinchem by far! And a super cozy ambiance: an attractive, intimate inland vessel. Parking in front of the door: it doesn't get any better or more unique in Doetinchem. But oh my God, that latte is FINALLY hot!!!! Toppers those moms. Tip: Marketing campaign, open at 10 a.m. and Bob's your uncle. :-)

We have been here for the 3rd time now and it has been great every time. Cozy atmosphere, always friendly service, and above all delicious food! We will definitely go more often.

Delicious food in a nice atmosphere, at the bottom of a boat. Very friendly staff and a surprising menu with a wide variety of dishes. We ordered a surprise menu. Delicious soup and 2 x 2 dishes We were able to take our time. If we may make a comment, it is that the dishes were all tasty, but there was no real consistency. For example, rendang and a fish curry. Prices are reasonable and, we think this is important, no expense has been spared on purchasing: Orangina, Gulpener, Pellegrino. Slightly more expensive but definitely better.

Had a very unpleasant experience, even antisocial and not expected from the owner and daughter, we as regular customers will never return after this experience. Among other things, we ordered 2 cheesecakes (in the afternoon), it was fairly quiet in the boat and there were a few people outside. When we were served the cheesecakes, among other things, we said to each other, this can't be true, can it? Could it be due to inflation? An extremely thin cake at 6 euros each, served very plain. At home we said to each other, the cake (1 piece) has been cut in half and presented as 2 pastries, so we pay 6 euros twice, while it is 1 pastry (it's almost funny) By chance we had a photo of the exact same order (cakes) from them, and guess what? Twice as big. I went back the same day, the owner and daughter soon had to admit that they had cut the pastry in half, they also admitted that they had not made any demands (apparently it is standard practice)…..they clearly felt caught, and came up with the excuse that they had already discussed among themselves that this was not possible... and that the cause was the crowds, while there was no crowds at all. As regular customers, we simply found this disrespectful, that they treated us like this with dry eyes, really disrespectful and antisocial... as a real excuse, if they had meant it they would have to say, so to speak: we are so ashamed, the invoice is ours, but even there we had no feeling for the situation. (refunded money for 1 pastry) PS, it's not about money, it's about deception. It should be clear, we will never come there again and are extremely disappointed in the petty deception (what are we talking about, cutting a cake in half, and charging twice)..and not really apologizing, but with a lame excuse that it was busy, you could have just said, sorry, we only have 1 cheesecake left or we have alternatives.

3 times 5 stars, because the menu is very tasty, tosti rendang is phenomenal! Delicious beers, service is always very good. Think along with allergies. They are very attentive and smooth. The atmosphere is particularly beautiful, the restaurant is located in an inland vessel, formerly a pancake boat. Nicely decorated, ideal place for us to have a quiet lunch. We will spend a little more money, but we think it is worth it here. The pub quiz is also recommended here!
