Uncomplicated enjoyment and a beautiful base for outdoor activities

We couldn't choose again and opted for the lunch platter, what a feast, very tasty and fun, highly recommended

Years ago, you could stop here for an ice cream during a bike ride or walk, but now it's just rockets, a real wasteland. Such a shame. Check out the Zoete Zus (Sweet Sisters) at the 3Zussen (Three Sisters), it's fantastic and definitely something for Mas Montagne!

During our hike up the Amerongse Berg, we unexpectedly stumbled upon Mas Montagne restaurant. We enjoyed a lovely lunch on the terrace. The homemade ice tea was delicious and refreshing. The surrounding area is also beautiful!

Small, homey, and friendly. Local and organic lunch. Plenty of vegetarian options.

Beautiful place in a lovely location in the woods. Very nicely decorated. I'm so glad a place like this is in this area, because you don't find anything like it very often. Very unique and with really good quality food and drinks, organic and local. Everything is so flavorful! I had delicious bread with salad and a homemade walnut wine. Next time, I'm curious to try the Maastricht beer. The staff are very friendly. I think I heard the owner talking to an employee, and it sounded so sweet and friendly. That's how I want it to be. Let's all learn from them, shall we? ;)

Lovely place to have lunch, in the middle of the woods. You can sit on the terrace. There were too few staff, so the order took a while, but after that it went fast enough. Great food too

One of the most beautiful places! Lots of attention, delicious food. A gem and something for everyone.

Had to wait a very long time for a bread board. The spreads (dips) that were given with it were not tasty. Humus, goat cheese and a kind of spicy green pesto. Would have preferred "normal" herb butter, aioli and normal pesto. We only got the 2nd glass of orange juice after the bread. Unfortunately... looked nice, but no 2nd time for us.

Perfect. No other words needed. The atmosphere, the dishes, the local beer, the service—everything was just perfect. I recommend parking by the Tabakschuur and taking a two-hour hike in the area before lunch. That’s exactly what we did, and it made the meal feel like a well-deserved feast after a long walk. They use local ingredients and have vegan dishes too - I highly recommend their falafel salad. The portions are big, I couldn't even finish mine. They welcome dogs too—there’s an outdoor water bowl available, and they’ll bring it to your table without you even needing to ask.

Idyllic location in the forest. Accessible by car (on unpaved path) or walking/cycling. Friendly service and delicious food. Nice tableware. Really something different. The prices are accordingly.

Beautiful spot 'hidden' in the forest. Enjoy the lovely terrace with the sun, delicious food and beautiful surroundings. We had the lunch platter which consisted of a tasty selection of dishes on the menu.

During a bike ride we stopped for coffee and cake. Friendly staff, very nicely decorated, delicious coffee and delicious cake. Both the lemon meringue and the vegan gluten-free chocolate cake. Recommended!

Had a nice beer after a walk through the beautiful forest here. Management needs to be a little less concerned with themselves and pay a little more attention to the customers. The area near the bar is very messy and the walls clearly need maintenance.

Apple pie is delicious! Coffee could be warmer, but definitely recommended for a break!

Nicely decorated cozy restaurant in a beautiful location in the forest near Amerongen, very nice and helpful staff and excellent food. One big plus: there was a small basket in the toilets with some panty liners and tampons in it. It happens to almost every woman at some point in time that you need one of the two, but don't have it with you or have forgotten it. So it is very thoughtful that this is ready for those who need it. A small gesture, but it certainly does not go unnoticed. I believe that every eatery with a toilet should have this in the toilet. Big kudos!

Already reserved a table for three a few weeks ago. Upon arrival (we were well on time) the restaurant is full and we can take a seat at the large (reading) table and we are told that they had to do some puzzling with the tables, and perhaps a table for 3 will be available for us. Next to us, two round tables for 2 will be available (where you can easily sit with 3). But that's not allowed. A little later this is allowed again because they need the (reading) table we are sitting at for a large group. No fiddling with tables, just a matter of giving away our reserved table. We will not see the lady in question who is in charge of the table arrangement again and will leave it to the young staff. The food was fine, but the wait staff had to be beckoned every time. Also no excuse for giving away our table. Ugh, unprofessional.

After a rewarding walk through Amerongse Berg, Mas Montagne is the perfect spot to unwind. The cozy ambiance welcomes you and your dog, with a lovely outdoor view, especially in summer. The food is decent, though service can be slow, especially on weekends when the place is bustling. It’s family-friendly, with games to keep kids entertained, and clean facilities add to the comfort. Ideal for a relaxing stop to enjoy nature and a meal!

Went here specifically by bike, lured by the sign at the start of the approach path. Turns out they are closed on Tuesdays!! Then take that sign away guys

How wonderful that places like this in the forest can still exist, hopefully they will stay that way! Beautifully situated and a great place to stay both indoors and outdoors. Lunch (bouncer) was fine, not great but just okay.

Fantastic ambience. I looked at the restaurant online beforehand so that I might have lunch there. The pictures cannot reflect the true ambience. You don't want to continue driving.

We ate cakes (delicious!) and drank cappuccino. On the terrace, because the weather was beautiful. It was very busy.

What a nice place to eat after a walk or MTB tour. The service is smooth, attentive and hospitable. Even with a full tent, food is on the table quickly. And plenty to do for the little ones!

Made a reservation and moved to a spot in the sun despite the crowds! Great after a long walk. Very tasty meal. A tip for the operators to avoid filling up the entire lawn with parking. It used to be a more idyllic atmosphere with simple playground equipment and bushes for the kids to play around in.

Had lunch here with family today. Food was good. And then both in quality and quantity. A small disadvantage was that the knives were so dull that you could not get through the crust of the delicious sourdough bread. But after they gave them steak knives, things went well. I can't say anything about prices because we didn't have to pay. Then why 4 stars. It was very busy today. But it's so noisy inside that you can't hear each other at your own table. This was a real detriment for us.

Separate card. Not my taste. What I wanted to eat was no longer there. Terrace with uncomfortable chairs and felt a bit confined.

Great place in the forest, very quiet because there is no car route here. Beautiful view from the terrace. Nice menu including quality beers (no obligatory Heineken). I ordered a (always more expensive coffee variety) flat white. Always wait and see if you don't just get a weak or mediocre cup of coffee, but this was really good coffee! I also ordered the quiche. That was also very tasty and there was a fresh salad next to it on the plate. Only downside: the quiche itself was quite small. I expected it (not much, but a little) bigger, to be honest. Oh yes, service was also friendly and fast enough.

Very good lunch restaurant! They make everything themselves and you can tell by the high and fresh quality. In addition to the lunch dishes, the cakes are also very tasty! Service can still be improved. It seems like they are not communicating with each other.

Fantastic place with very friendly service. Unfortunately, shrinkage seems to have struck here too. Ordered a cheesecake for 5 Euro and got a Petit Fours sized pastry. Taste was fine, but you could just about fill a hollow tooth with it. No more pastries here for me.

I don't know what's best here, the location in the middle of a beautiful mixed forest clearing, the loving decor, the delicious and varied food or the really patient and helpful staff. It really is so beautiful here, you just want to move in and live here. The menu isn't that extensive but it's so diverse that there's something for everyone and it's so delicious. Homemade cakes, toasts, lunches with bread, frittatas, quiches, various types of lemonade and limoncello (but be careful 🫣). Absolute recommendation. We have been here several times.

It WAS child-friendly because all the play equipment and horses are gone! We also enjoyed a nice drink on the terrace, right in front of the wind. Yep, everything blew in in shreds too. There was nowhere to sit without smoking. It's a bit of a shame, we don't do this anymore.

Beautifully situated in the forest. Plenty of parking space but also great to go there on foot. Drinking troughs for the dogs, you can also go there with the horses. Delicious cappucino and tasty things to go with it. A lot of the food comes from the surrounding area. Service friendly and attentive. Montagne blond beer, own product is recommended. Atmosphere is really nice in and around the restaurant. It will also be a special place in winter.

Unexpectedly during our walk we came across this beautiful spot. Drank cappuccino and tea while enjoying the wooded view. From a nice cup, nice crockery in this place. You can also hold weddings and other celebrations here, for up to 40 or up to 80 people. And we also understood funerals.
