Loved it, had our breakfast practically every day on a week long holiday. Great selection of sweet and savoury pastries, cakes and bread. Coffee pretty good too. Great to sit and watch the bakers at work. Would highly recommend.

The pastries and bread are delicious. I live within walking distance but only come there 3 times a year. Why? I find the staff so unfriendly, also last Wednesday. There is no such thing as a 'nice day'. There is a happy-view atmosphere: yoga ladies, families with three children who want their way, etc. Mathijs cannot do anything about that. But kindness still saves a business, which many entrepreneurs forget.

This bakery is an asset to Hilversum.

Matthijs' bakery is beautifully situated. Through the many glass you can see what is made in the bakery. The products are of a very high quality. Especially the original pastries are a feast for the eyes and mouth. The bread is of top quality. The service is excellent and the staff is friendly and willing to go the extra mile. In short: highly recommended!!

Super goed bakker, wel aardig aan de prijs maar dat merk je ook , valt niet te vergelijken met de grote winkelketens. Heerlijke broodjes en gebakjes. Absoluut een aanrader, ze gaan duidelijk voor kwaliteit zoals het vroeger was,en dat zie je niet vaak meer.

Beste ham-kaas croissant die ik ooit heb gegeten, croissants ook erg goed. Lekker desem brood (beetje aan de zware kant voor mij maar wel smaakvol).

Alles goed bij Matthijs Boon !. O.a. een prettige locatie als je even wat langer moet wachten op je trein. De koffie (dubbele espresso) is uitstekend en van sommige speciale broden kan ik hetzelfde zeggen, met name het halve Matthijs Brood is heerlijk. Personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Bakkerij met veel keus wat brood betreft. Industriël ingericht. Beperkte mogelijkheid om een warme drank met lekkers uit de bakkerij te nuttigen. Blij dat dit kon.

Really good bakery. There’s places to sit down, and the croissants are really good. I had the plain and the cheese croissant and they’re really worth your money. Next time I’ll pop by again for sure, and my try out sitting down for a bit. Also great if you’re waiting for a train as it’s literally across the station.

Awesome sourdough bread. As a daily routine I bake two myself every day for the family but travelling back to my old town Hilversum had to go out and by some. This is very very good. Just wondering: only sourdough starter right? No added yeast? Love to get my hands on your starter and try it myself :)

Chocolate oatmeal cookies are awesome. Has some nuts too, which I really like but I have no idea what kind is in it. Really crunchy 🍪. Close to 5 bucks for a bag of 8 cookies. Great with fresh milk 🥛. I have yet to try their bread

Gebak is heerlijk en koffie is lekker, maar deegwaren zijn niet erg bijzonder voor de prijs.

Broodwaren zijn duur, maar erg goed. Koffie is er 9 van 10 keer erg lekker. Beetje afhankelijk van wie hem maakt.

Erg jammer 7.95 voor een paasbrood met spijs?!?!

After moving to the neighbourhood, this was our first cafe for regular coffee and bakery products. Their coffee used to be nice but these days it is either a hit or miss. Nevertheless, their bread (esp. sesame) & pastries are the best in the neighbourhood. The staff in the small outlet that only serves bakery products is very courteous. Hence, 4* else for cafe it's 3*.

Their pastry is OK, and chocolate covered peanuts are delicious, but for some reason they’re very unkind when we speak in English at the store. It’s the bakery closest to us, but I hesitate going there because they’re unpleasant every single time we visit.
