We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table with genuine hospitality that immediately made us feel at home. We opted for the 3-course menu, and from the very first sip and bite, the evening unfolded beautifully. Drinks arrived promptly, followed shortly by the first appetizer. Each course was served at a comfortable pace, accompanied by a brief, heartfelt explanation from the staff – a lovely touch that made every dish feel special. The 3 course menu was a thoughtful selection of dishes from their à la carte options, and for us, it was just perfect. I have never had Kabuli Palow this flavorful – absolutely exceptional. All in all, it was a truly wonderful evening that we thoroughly enjoyed. If you're in Apeldoorn, Mazar is an absolute must-visit – a hidden gem that delivers an authentic and memorable Afghan dining experience.

One of the best meals I’ve had in the Netherlands - absolutely delicious and everything taste freshly made. The lentil korma was the best lentil dish I’ve ever had. The staff were lovely as well. I would 100% come back here regularly if I lived in this city!

Had a very good experience at Mazar! We arrived unannounced but were still assigned a spot. The service was very hospitable and the quality of the food is higher than the price you pay for it. You can certainly find your love for Afghan cuisine in this restaurant. For anyone who has not yet been introduced to this culture, this is a good place to start!

We come there regularly and every time we leave super satisfied. What wonderful food it is, both meat and vegetarian. The people who work there are also polite and friendly. Price is just fair. Really great. Incredibly tasty. You're crazy if you walk past this restaurant.

Hidden gem! surprising and delicious food!!!

The food was really not tasty. The rice was very raw and greasy. They had many dishes from the menu not available, and the Tekke kebab was really undercooked. We waited a really long time, and when the food finally came, it was cold. I'm really not satisfied and think if you want to throw your money in a hole you can go to this terrible restaurant.

We had a delicious meal. My girlfriend had the Afghan rice with veal, carrot and almonds. I ate the mantu. Distinctive and refined flavors. The dessert was very sweet pastry with pistachio. Incredibly tasty.

The restaurant was easily accessible by telephone and I could even choose a dish from the menu in advance and it was then specially made without a specific ingredient! We had a delicious meal in a relaxed, atmospheric restaurant. The tasting is highly recommended with Afghan baklava for dessert. The dishes are wonderfully seasoned and the experience is therefore excellent. The service is very friendly and polite, the cook (mother of the house) prepares the dishes in an authentic way.

We ordered Kabuili pilaw and badenjan borani, and it was amazing. Tasted like home food! The quality and quantity of the food is so good for the price. We also got Hammus for starter and it was so creamy tasty! Highly recommended and we definitely go back there when we visit Apledoorn again. Thank you!

Ate here last weekend, it was fantastic! You can taste that it is prepared with love, all dishes are perfectly seasoned and a real explosion of taste. You have a lot of variety in dishes, also for vegetarians. The restaurant has a nice, cozy and relaxed atmosphere, the service is also top notch. In one word: recommended!

We took the three-course menu for two people. The taste wasn't bad, but not "wow" either. My wife noticed that a lot of microwaves or Combi steamers were used, as she could see into the kitchen from where she was sitting... We also had the impression that the kitchen was heating up rather than cooking. So prepared in advance. The quality wasn't bad, but for the price it wasn't anything special. The rice dish, which was served as a main course, contained pieces of beef that were bone dry. I can hardly imagine how a man could have achieved this dried out product with a fresh product. With the main course it was said that one could order again for free if it was not enough. The service was good and fast, the Chardonnay very good, the house wine Lala... You can visit, you shouldn't, so to speak. The promised introduction to Afghan cuisine... really not... In our opinion, below average in terms of price/quality ratio. Shame. That can and must be done much better.

Aromatic (completely not spicy if that worries anyone) food made with family recipes. Female owned and run. Explanations of what’s in the tasting platter would have been helpful so as not to order several already included things as starters. But otherwise friendly, good service. Dog and alcohol friendly.

Happy surprise! Wonderful music, very friendly and lovely people. I felt like I was on holiday for a moment. I ate a starter with minced meat in dough pads, delicious. As a main course, rice with chicken in tomato sauce, again delicious. Now I'm waiting for the baklava (the Afghan version). Also perfect! A big 10 (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️). Worth repeating and discover it for yourself.

Tonight we had Afghan food here for the first time with a friend. We took the tasting, a matching bottle of red wine and a pot of delicious Afghan tea. All the food tastes fantastic, unique and you can taste that it has been prepared with love. The decor is neat with oriental furnishings and at the same time gives a living room feeling. Every member of staff was incredibly friendly and exuded infectious joy. You can immediately see that they practice their profession with great passion. Definitely recommended to try. I would love to come back here!

Never seen Ghabeli with 3 types of meat! Instead of just lamb, it also includes turkey and chicken fillet! It really doesn't taste good and certainly not worth €20! Rice is also not tasty. It looks like a combination of Beriani and Ghabeli.

Had a wonderful dinner here with my mother. We chose the combination menu to try out different things, and really enjoyed the variety of tastes and dishes. The amount was quite much, we could barely finish the main course, so we were more than satisfied afterwards! The service was super friendly, the ladies were all very kind. The restaurant has a lovely ambience, and is not too big. When we arrived the music was a bit loud, which I am very sensitive too as an autistic person, and they were happy to turn it down for me when asked. These little things really help me enjoy the experience best without getting overstimulated, so I really appreciated the understanding.
