McDonald's in Wijk 33 Heerlen-Centrum

Just picked up various takeaway menus here. The hamburgers were already in the bags while the fries still needed to be fried. They also mentioned that they were getting cold now. There were black specks in the drinks. See photo. It was too far to drive back, so we threw it away.

This McDonald's is extremely dirty; chemicals were used for cleaning in the food preparation area. 1 euro for the dirty toilets.

Can’t expect much from McDonalds. But to pay for the toilet even though you are a customer is simply more than obnoxious. The restaurant is dirty. Chairs and tables are sticky, old and worn out. Simply gross. I’m not sure what the management does, but it’s clear to see that they are incompetent. Service is slow, very slow. Saturday at 11:58 with hardly any customers we waited for nearly 15 minutes to receive 4 menus. As for the food. It’s processed fast food. Can’t expect much. It tastes like all McDonalds around the Netherlands. It is certain that we will never return to this place. Much better options around the neighborhood for similar prices.

Good morning service, always friendly and helpful

The interior is due for an upgrade, but it was clean at the time of my visit. The burgers were also fresh off the grill and hot. Exactly what I needed 😊

Average McDonalds restaurant in the center of the city. The food was as expected. 2 of the 5 order terminals did not work, neither did the paid entry to the bathrooms. The torn and taped bench was not very inviting either.

Lots of young people loitering around. This can make visitors feel unsafe. Unfortunately, nothing is being done about it.

Paying a lot of money for a really dirty toilet

The delivery driver hasn't received the entire order yet again. This location is truly terrible. You never have any problems with them in Kerkrade. Heerlen city center is a disaster.

Less and less for money. It's impersonal with all those terminals; you're literally just a number.

Everything is filthy, benches are falling apart. Tables are filthy, trays everywhere, and then you have to pay for the toilet! Which isn't even clean and is falling apart! The floor is sticky with leftover food.

We ordered 3 chili chicken and only got 2. We called them and they said send us an email.

I went to the McDonald's here in Heerlen with my family. At first glance, it seemed pretty normal; it was a bit busier, but that's also due to the time of year. We ordered our food at a kiosk and ended up waiting 12 minutes for it; visually, it all looked good. I opened the box of my McChicken. They had forgotten the bottom bun. The wrong versions of the burgers were brought out, and everything was cold. So, this is not recommended.

Your McDonald's doesn't process orders properly; it takes an incredibly long time. I even found a hair in a hamburger once. This is unacceptable. I thought maybe something would change, but no, it just keeps getting worse.

Of all the branches I've visited in Germany, France, and Belgium, this was by far the worst in terms of food quality. We were a group of three, and none of us finished our meals. On top of that, the tables were dirty (not just ours). That was our first and last time there...

The food was decent, but the wait time was truly excessive for a fast-food chain. Fifteen minutes for a simple order, while half the tables were still dirty. The staff did their best, but there weren't enough people working. The restrooms weren't clean, and the smell was disturbing.

Read a review that even paying customers must pay 50c to use the toilet. Well, it's now 1 Euro for paying customers. Appalling.

I waited 40 minutes for my order and received the wrong one twice. Luckily, it was resolved politely. Busy, screaming, and mannerless children behind us tried to grab the food off our trays multiple times. Parents didn't do anything but get angry at us when we moved (?). I had to pay 50 cents for the restroom even though I ate there, only to be greeted with a slip-and-slide of urine and wads of urine-soaked toilet paper. I almost fell over in the wet mess. If you say anything, you're looked at like you're stupid, no apology, no 50 cents refund, or anything. The only good thing was that the food, when we finally got the right one, was surprisingly fresh for a McDonald's.

You don't expect much from a McDonald's, especially not in a city like Heerlen. However, I was unpleasantly surprised during my first visit to this location. It was without a doubt one of the slowest McDonald's locations I have ever experienced. The waiting time was exceptionally long; it took forever for my simple order to be ready and packed. The workflow seemed completely disorganized and the staff radiated little urgency and weariness of life. The food itself was also disappointing. The fries had clearly been in the fryer for too long: limp, dark in color and with a bitter aftertaste. Even the standard quality that you can expect from a fast food chain was not achieved here. If you are planning to quickly eat something here before catching the train, I strongly advise against it. You can better assume that you will have to wait at least three times as long here as in an average McDonald's. During my second visit, it even became downright absurd. While I was eating inside, a report came in about a possible bomb threat across the street. Instead of quickly evacuating like other stores did, the staff here decided to do something remarkable: they locked the doors while customers including me were still inside. We were not allowed outside, while employees stood at the door to see what was going on. At the same time, they just continued preparing orders as if nothing was wrong. Is this normal for this McDonald's? This felt incredibly unsafe, at least the minimum professional, but above all unsafe. In situations with a potential risk to safety, you can expect that protocols are followed: evacuation, clear communication, and especially no doors are locked while people are inside. All in all, my experience with this McDonald's in Heerlen is far from positive. The slow service, substandard quality of the food and the ridiculous attitude in an emergency situation give me little reason to ever come back here. For a chain that is known for speed and accessibility, this location leaves a lot to be desired in both areas.

Alas, my recent visit to this establishment was an existential ordeal that would make many a philosopher rethink their existence. Let’s start with the wait. For thirty minutes – thirty minutes! – I stood there, enveloped in the aroma of rancid frying oil and despair, watching a choreography of chaos unfold behind the counter. Young people, seemingly trained in the noble art of inefficiency, stumbled like lost souls between fryers and touchscreens, while my order – a seemingly revolutionary combination of fries and a burger – fell victim to bureaucratic standstill. And then… the drinks. What a treat. The cups, wrapped in their cardboard disguise, contained a fungal culture of such intensity that I wondered if they were experimenting with a new McFungi. The green and gray flora that had settled inside was undoubtedly the result of months of scientific neglect. I felt more like a participant in a biological experiment than a customer in a fast food restaurant. Finally, the fries – oh, the fries! They were so saturated with salt that I briefly considered whether I had accidentally ordered a salt mine instead of a portion of potato sticks. My taste buds are now dead, buried under a Himalayan mountain of sodium chloride. Even my kidneys sent out a desperate SOS after the first bite. In summary, this experience was a play in three acts: tragically slow, biologically disturbing and culinary sadomasochistic. If Dante were alive today, he would undoubtedly dedicate an extra circle of hell to this McDonald’s – one where you wait forever for a burger that never comes, while drinking moldy water and munching on salted fries. In short, this McDonald’s has done the unthinkable – made me long for the kitchen of a mediocre prison. One star, purely out of respect for the gravity that still works in this establishment.

The dirtiest McDonald's smells like a toilet inside; you can't breathe from the filth, a total disaster. I ate there and I was sick for two days. I don't know why they're still open, I don't understand why people still go there.

If you are visiting Heerlen, this is a must-see. One of the most famous sights in Heerlen. The atmosphere here is very representative of what you can expect for the rest of Heerlen. Honest Heerlen, that's how we have always been and that's how we always will be.

Ordered via home delivery, what is stated on the receipt is correct, but someone put in the wrong order. Called and they say McDonald's can't do anything about this because it's all delivered via home delivery. This is nonsense! An employee who was not paying attention simply mixed up the order. So 100% McDonald's fault! I had to contact Thuisbezorgd because McDonalds did nothing with this. How amateurish you are!

If you like it, MD is just delicious. I had opted for take away, but the lady behind the counter resolved this nicely, so the service was excellent. Atmosphere is difficult with the mega crowds, but that's not what you go for.

Unfortunately, this is one of the worst McDonald's locations we have ever been to. My previous review was not published, but the problem remains the same. Large groups of young people regularly hang around here, who do not order anything or only let one person order, while the rest cause a nuisance. They sit on tables, put their feet on chairs and disrupt the atmosphere for paying customers. There is a sign with the rule that everyone must order a drink, but this is hardly enforced. The staff understandably do not seem to say anything anymore, probably because otherwise they will get a big mouth. The worst thing is that this situation makes McDonald's not child-friendly. This should be a place where you can eat quietly with your family, but the constant nuisance makes it feel anything but pleasant. Really a shame! Hopefully something will be done about this.

Prices are ridiculous! Service is crap. Especially on uber eats. Always barely warm, super expensive, burgers slapped together terribly, missing items etc. uber eats don’t refund as easily anymore too many scammers. Always an expensive disappointment. Will stay away. Can get way more food from dominos across the road.

It's a McDonald's...what do you expect?

I always like this McDonald's and it's just great food, it's NEVER disappointing, but the staff can be quite grumpy SOMETIMES.

It is 2025, and many sectors are complaining that fewer customers are coming and less money is being earned. Then it's carnival, the MC Donald's is full of customers and it's 1 o'clock. Then they chase the customers out the door because they want to close. On days like this you could make a lot of money in 1 or 2 extra hours. But that's asking too much here, not commercial at all. Personally it doesn't matter to me, I'll eat somewhere else. The burger we ordered before 1 o'clock... Well, how dry can you get it. Hardly any sauce on it, unedible. What a worthless thing this is

Just bad. Ask at the counter when you pick up your order, is everything included? Answer: yes! Still checked; no chicken nuggets. No apologies or nothing. When we got home (3 minutes later) it turned out that sauce was still missing and the food was just cold/lukewarm. McDonalds... Always a disappointment but asking for the top prize. Take a look in Germany; they succeed there.

Please always double-check your to-go order at this location. We were missing two boxes of mozzarella sticks, didn’t receive the spice mix for the fries, and were given regular nuggets instead of veggie nuggets. This is especially frustrating because it’s not the first time this McDonald’s has made this mistake (normal nuggets instead of veggie nuggets). They need to be more careful, as serving the wrong item—especially when it comes to dietary preferences or restrictions—can be a serious issue.

Asking sad money from your customers for an extremely smelling and dirty toilet. Only 1 was usable for the ladies, the other was already full. If you do ask for money, please maintain it. The staff is very friendly but the food is so-so. Boiling water for tea was cold, both times, all the food wasn't particularly hot either. In a caramel late macchiato was NO caramel at all. The preparing time took much longer than usual at all other mcdonald's.

My daughter is screaming in the toilet because she is in pain. I pay for the toilet but the gate does not open. I ask for help and someone actually comes and tells me that I first have to pay for the toilet, which I had already done, but how can you start complaining about 50 cents while there is a screaming child in the toilet!?

The employees drag the company down with them. If you needed a new meaning for incompetence, the store would be your best bet. 8/2024 We visited the restaurant again for weeks. Nothing has changed with the unfriendly staff, even though there seem to be new employees all the time. Unfortunately, there were often tables that were not clean. . It is better to bring your own wet wipes. The people in charge are generally friendly, but must keep employees within their boundaries. A typical McDonald's, and it was clean when we visited, we've seen it differently.

There was something everywhere, it wasn't busy. The girl behind the cash register just left me standing and had to ask if I could finally pay. Niece asked for a cloth for the table, she also left her behind and therefore did not get a cloth to clean the table.

Terrible staff. Unhygienic with their long nails yuck. Don't go there again.

What a bad mac, staff very grumpy, food was cold, coffee was cold and had to pay to go to the toilet. Downright a bad mac. Not recommended!

The staff is as nice as they can be given what they have but the food is not consistent. The coffee frappe's are lumpy and not drinkable through any straws but definitely paper straws.

I got McFlurry Oreo without chocolate liquid but it came with choco, and it had way less oreo than other McDonald's.

Bad service, busy and no overview

The lady doesn't understand how to drive. There was another customer in front of me before my order would arrive. I can track the order via home delivery and saw that the car drives unnecessarily in the wrong direction before it reaches the other customer. When she had had the other customer, I saw her driving back towards the McDonalds (I was already afraid that my food would no longer be at the right temperature). Then the lady arrived at my place. I happened to be already at the door and the lady first drives to the other side of the street straight past my house. Then she came back and stayed in the car (probably waiting until I walked to her car to get my food.) Finally, I got my food. My frapuchino is now just a lukewarm drink instead of an iced drink and my chicken nuggets are no longer warm either. I gave the chicken nuggets to the dogs because I don't like reheating them in the microwave either. My frappuchino is now in the fridge hoping it will become a little more iced.

Hamburger literally thrown into the paper, ketchup spread over the entire paper but nothing in the burger, ditto for the cheese... Ordered a strawberry milkshake and got a vanilla... Ordered chicken 9, put it in an A bag with the hamburger... Furthermore, the staff is very unhygienic and grumpy. There are 2 managers walking around and they are the only 2 who speak Dutch. In short, a very bad restaurant!
