The only time I was here, a young guy came to take our order in English. He was fiddling around with his notebook, which was a sign of things to come. It was busy, so it would take a while. But it took forever. He'd lost the order. When I asked if we could still get our food a bit earlier, he was rather dismissive. We just left. A shame, because I'd heard positive things about it.

The food and atmosphere here are good but the use of the “Al Arz” tahini brand raises serious concerns. This is a brand that uses a Lebanese name while being from Israel. This is misleading to customers and undermines cultural authenticity. Beyond that, many consumers are deeply troubled by supporting products linked to ongoing political and humanitarian conflicts. I will make sure my circle of friends know this and will no more recommend this place.

It's been one of my favorite spots in Rotterdam for a while now! Fantastic food and always a cozy atmosphere.

I always loved coming to this restaurant: delicious food, friendly staff, and a beautiful, peaceful location. I also appreciated the Palestinian-inspired cookbooks and references on the menu. However, during my last visit, I noticed that the kitchen uses tahini that looks Lebanese on the packaging (with the flag colors and the familiar cedar tree), but is actually owned by the Israeli Sugat Group. The owner confirmed that this is a conscious choice, based purely on taste. To me, this feels inconsistent: enjoying the richness of Middle Eastern cuisine, but sourcing products from a company affiliated with a country that has been putting pressure on this region for decades. Principles trump taste for me, and I find the nonchalance on this matter disappointing. A review of this choice would be in their favor. There are plenty of excellent alternatives on the market; I'm a tahini connoisseur myself. And the difference really isn't so great that this should be an insurmountable step.

Oasis Rotterdam – WOW Okay, listen… I thought I knew what a good chai tasted like, but the Kashmiri Chai at Oasis completely changed my tea world. Creamy, velvety smooth, and sweet with such a unique twist that I seriously paused and drank it down in one go. This wasn't your average Chai Latte… this was pure magic in a cup. I ordered not one, but two. Yes, it was that good. And then the toast with scrambled eggs and avocado… normally, that's one of those "just plain good" breakfasts. But here? 10x better than anything you're used to getting anywhere else. Perfectly seasoned, spicy, juicy egg with a kind of feta mixed in and the occasional crunchy, flavorful bite, with not only smashed avocado on the bottom but also some kind of salad... I can't tell you exactly what was on it, but it was like my taste buds were giving a round of applause (even when I bit into a piece of tomato, and I actually don't like tomatoes at all). But the real highlight... hold on tight... Crème Brûlée TOAST. 🥹 Who came up with this?! Crispy, soft, and custardy, with strawberries, pistachios, and that caramelized top that crunches when you bite into it. Every bite was pure indulgence. Yes, worth all my calories for today (and tomorrow). I came in wearing my workout clothes thinking, "I'm going to work out later," but after this breakfast, I'm just sitting here enjoying it. 10/10, no doubt about it. Oasis is the place to be if you want to start your morning with a little party in your mouth!

The best hummus i’ve ever had: it was so smooth and even if, as every middle eastern plate, there were spices, the hummus itself was delicate. Also, the portions were abundant and the atmosphere was nice. I’d go back to Rotterdam only to eat here again!

It's a long time ago I enjoyed eating out for lunch so much as I did here! The food was just so delicious. It felt like pure, real ingredients, really really tasty and nourishing. Portions were good and its nice for sharing. Coffee/tea was special too, great flavour, although a bit pricey. I'm happy I don't live closeby, otherwise I would be here way too often.

The woman behind the bar had her children in a cargo bike outside the door and would occasionally check on them. The kids had already been in the bike for about half an hour. When a customer asked about it, the bartender went berserk. Stupid behavior. The whole terrace was surprised, both by the children she'd left there and by her behavior... It must be a modern day.

Considering a traditional Palestinian woman and her daughters enjoying a leisurely lunch there, without a word spoken, you know the food is prepared correctly. Whether you're there to work, grab a quick cashmiri (highly recommended!!!), or have a long lunch, this place never disappoints. I've been going for five years and I'm constantly amazed by the variety of options they offer. If you're ever in Rotterdam (North), a visit is worth the time and money.

It had been on my list for a long time, but not worth repeating. Very busy, small space. People are almost on top of each other. Small portions, did not give a full feeling. Original menu. No standard dishes. Hummus was tasty.

Slow service and the food was overpriced. We waited 45 minutes for our food and after we finished we were still hungry. The food is ok, nothing special. We had the humus with eggplant and added an egg on top. They charged €3 for adding an egg! Overall the portion was very small.

I really like Mecca and their food but lately they forget a lot for to go. They forgot to give the matcha and halloumi which I of course paid for.

What a surprise! Everything was so delicious, and the portions were also large. We had different dishes, and as a vegetarian I had a lot of choice. The hummus… wow. Normally I am not a fan of that, but this is real hummus. Fresh, creamy, perfectly seasoned. The labneh was also delicious. Everything we ordered was delicious, fresh and full of flavor. In addition, the setting is also really cozy. We will definitely come back!

This is a really lovely daytime cafe/restaurant. Food is absolutely delicious and tastes like home cooking, atmosphere is really friendly and cosy. Only downside on my visit is I told the waitress (3 times!) I am vegan and they fed me yogurt to which I am allergic… I only realised half way through and fortunately they apologised and made me a fresh plate. Also they don’t do decaf coffee which is a shame.

Food is very tasty, but very small portions. We had the haloumi toast. This was really too small compared to the price. The labneh aubergine was delicious, but you only get 1 pita bread with it, and you are left with a large plate of dip.

The labneh with aubergine was from another planet. Was close to licking the plate clean but manners won in the end. Check it out when you’re in Rotterdam, everybody was super nice!!

Terrible service when you ask for coffee to go… it takes at least 15 minutes for getting coffee to go

Absolutely loved the food and the vibes of this amazing place. The Falafel bowl was so delicious and so was the Kasmiri chai. I will definitely come back here!! 😄 Edit: Came back again and tried Hummus-Aubergine, what a delicious dish! All I can say is Mecca Oasis is one of my all time favorite places to eat.

This is a must go place in rotterdam noord. Delicious middle eastern food, beautiful served drinks like chai latte, matcha latte and good coffees and smoothies! Nothing to complain just a 5 star place!!!

Bad service, the waitress didn't seem to enjoy her work. The food took way too long and we ended up leaving because we didn't get everything we ordered. What a bad restaurant and super bad service. Don't go here; the reviews here are probably bought, because they invite influencers who are required to give a five-star review.

Its an overpriced cafe that is hyped up by being hyped up. We were super excited to go there cause people told us good things about it.. in my experience: The coffee was watery and cost €5, the rose/pistachio cake was a basic cake with rose cream for €6 (only the rose cream was nice), then the main had me offended.. a 16€ falafel plate with just falafel and salad.. very basic. The description on menu mentions many things but the plate is a died down version of the description. As a middle eastern person, this place lacked what’s essential in our food and way of eating: care & soul

My favorite breakfast/lunch spot! Nice location, super tasty food. My favorite #1 order is Labneh & Eggs with a Chai Latte. So delicious. Service is fine, but on some days it could be better. The last time the carafe of water was missing on the table and it always took a long time for someone to come by for a check. But they were also around the corner on the terrace, somewhat out of sight. But this place is definitely recommended!

It's a really nice place that offers a very fresh and high-quality brunch. The quantity could be a bit more considering the price. It's a very reliable place to enjoy brunch.

We got recommended this cafe by an acquaintance, and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere is welcoming and feels calm yet dynamic. Despite almost every table being occupied, the staff helped us still find a spot. And despite that it was crowded, we got serviced and served very quickly. As far as food and drinks I can only recommend what we had, but all items on the menu looked worthwhile! For a refreshing take on middle eastern inspired veggie food made from fresh and flavorful ingredients, accompanied by an equally tasty (warm) drink, its definitely a place worth visiting!

This sandwich is a masterpiece, with sourdough pita filled with yogurt-tahini, fried eggplant, boiled egg, pickles, fresh salad, amba, and zhoug. The flavors are bold and perfectly balanced, with creamy tahini, smoky eggplant, tangy pickles, and a spicy kick from the zhoug. It's so delicious, one of my favorite sandwiches! Their Labneh & Eggs, with two fried eggs, creamy labneh, spiced butter, zaatar, pomegranate, sumac, and sourdough pita was also a standout. The labneh was fresh and creamy, perfectly balancing the rich butter and tangy pomegranate. As for drinks, we tried the Dirty Kashmiri Chai and the Sesame Matcha Latte. The Dirty Kashmiri Chai blends traditional Kashmiri chai with a shot of espresso, creating a rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced flavor. The chai’s rosy notes and the coffee’s depth make it unique and satisfying. The earthy matcha and nutty sesame of the Sesame Matcha Latte gave it a smooth, savory twist that stood out from regular matcha lattes, it's tastes unique. We also tried some of their sweet bakes goods. As a fan of madeleines, the Pistachio Madeleine was a delightful surprise. These petite, shell-shaped cakes had the perfect balance of soft texture and buttery richness, enhanced by the earthy nuttiness of pistachio. Each bite was light yet packed with flavor, making it impossible to eat just one. Next, we tried the White Babka, a regular on Mecca Oasis’s menu. Made with white chocolate, tahini, and pistachio, it was both indulgent and creative. The babka was soft and fluffy, with creamy white chocolate and nutty tahini blending perfectly, while the pistachios added a nice crunch. Watching the bakers work in the open kitchen made it even more special and inspired us to try baking one ourselves! At last, we tried the Tahini Brownie with chocolate, tahini, and halva. I was here for an appointment for the first time and found the service extremely unpleasant. I honestly wondered whether the young man in question wanted to work here and whether he hates people? I felt unwanted and that I couldn't disappear fast enough. A very snobby attitude filled with disinterest where all the questions were too many - like where the toilet is. The food was ok - but pricey for the small portion. I thought the atmosphere was medium because of the atmosphere. After an hour I left and didn't want dessert or coffee, tjallas! I don't go to cafes often and often defend the Netherlands when internationals complain about service. Well, the penny dropped because of Mecca 🙄😉

Amazing place and delicious food! It’s really the best place in Rotterdam for breakfast.

Again new staff and unfortunately VERY unprofessional and unfriendly. On top of that, we also received a wrong order twice, after we had had to wait so long and not once received an apology. We ate with great reluctance and did not know how quickly we had to get out of there. The concept is attractive, but the owners seem confused about managing their staff. Too bad, because it plays a major role in the overall experience and you pay something for it.

unique breakfast location with interesting and very tasty dishes. usually i wouln't eat salad for breakfast as i prefer a sweet breakfast, but this i didn't mind. it was tasty and some of the best hummus and falafel i've ever had.

Food was decent and so was the service, but they incorrect printed their menus, which means all the allergies are incorrectly assigned. Almost ordered something that I was allergic to becuase of this. Menus appeared to have been used for quite some time as well. Very unproffesional and potentially very dangerous!!

I waited for the food to come back, and when I asked the friendly brunette employee, he got mad at me and said, "I don't want to wait for the bread. They're not with the meal." I said, "Are you going to bake the bread?" He was rude and seemed to treat people based on their race

Best cafe in town! Every bite is full of different flavors, 10/10 recommended! My go-to’s are pita sabich, white babka, passion pepper & lichee smoothie 🫶🏻 just perfect! They don’t accept reservations, so you might have to wait a while, but usually tables move fast.

Delicious food and drinks! I opted for the white babka and the fig and tonka latte. Both were delicious! The location is easily accessible and the tent has sufficient space both inside and outside, although the terrace is a bit on the small side. It's also nice that the design is on the Middle Eastern side, in line with the positioning of the kitchen. It wasn't very expensive either. In short, recommended! Edit: later returned for the other babka, also delicious, so let's go!

Excellent !!!!! Really, after eating here you are sure to have a good day. We had a dirty Kashmiri chai and a fig and tonka latte, a humus & eggs and a labneh & eggs. Everything was really good. The setting is calming and so pleasant. The lady who served us was smiling and very kind. A perfect moment.

The location is very nice, so is the atmosphere Fetoush Salad is far from a real one - no tomatoes? never heard of a Fetoush Salad without tomatoes or cucumbers. The Labaneh is perfect And the Espresso coffee is sour. I am fed up with sour Espresso!

After a 1.5 hour walk, time for coffee. Last time it was so busy that I thought it would be a coffee to go. But it unexpectedly turned into a breakfast with coffee from the wind in the sun. Delicious. We immediately received a bottle of water on the table. Now that's a service. I'm still shocked by the prices charged for a cup of coffee these days. nowadays. A cortado with oat milk €3.90 and a large latte with oat milk €5.20, bizarre!!! The same also for “a sandwich”, more than €11.00 for a breakfast pita with 2 fried eggs. I think these are really absurd prices, unfortunately that's everywhere. Despite that, I really enjoyed my coffee and my sandwich. Fresh, tasty flavors, my table companion's pita with hummus and egg was also very tasty. The hummus was wonderfully creamy, delicious. The boy who helped us seemed a little less cheerful, correct and helpful, but he didn't look that way. Atmosphere difficult to determine, we sat outside around the corner, so you don't get everything. But definitely worth repeating. There were so many delicious things on the menu.

Impossible! 10 minutes on the terrace, no one comes out. Then I go inside myself, it smells like burnt food, it takes at least another 4 minutes before anyone notices me. I order a coffee and a lemonade. And a cinnamony bun. Takes forever to get my order. The wrong one.... in the end the coffee was lukewarm, the bun was bad and dried out and 15!!! leave the terrace lighter. Disorganized and uninterested staff. Definitely not recommended.

The dirty chai latte and lavender mocha were sooooooo delicious!!! 🤤 It was my first time trying hummus with eggs and I must say I LOVE the combination 💯 all around great meal, everything tasted like it was created with love ♥️

Great middle eastern breakfast/brunch/lunch dishes fully vegetarian but its so good you won’t miss the meat! Drinks selection was great to besides coffee & tea. Staff was friendly and attentive, also the hummus was silky smooth and flavoured perfectly! It can get busy on weekends so you might need to wait in line for 10-15 minutes

It seems to have become the norm in Rotterdam but wow. 12 euros for two dressed fried eggs with pita bread. Fine, fresh and tasty. But what money.

The tastiest pita sandwiches and falafel I have had so far! The homemade sourdough pita bread is especially delicious. I like to take them home with me (they also sell frozen in packs of 5). Downside: always busy and you often have to wait for a table because they have very few seats. This is a disadvantage if I want to take friends/family there and makes planning difficult, so I sometimes don't take the chance and choose something else (reservations are not possible). Tip: take a jar of Al Arz tahini with you (the tastiest tahini available)

Finally a place in Rotterdam where they serve sabich! The sabich was really delicious. Well filled with tasty fresh ingredients. The labneh was also surprisingly good! The babka with pistachio and white chocolate was a bit dry, and could use a little more filling. I hope to try the falafel (bowl) next time. Too bad I don't live in the area anymore, otherwise I would come here very often 🤰🏻😋!

The food was very tasty, but quite little for the price. Unfortunately, service was not very good. It took a very long time before we could get in. We waited for 45 minutes and were not even asked if we wanted to order something to drink (this was done at others). Once we were inside, it took another 20 minutes before we got the menu and after we wanted to eat something else after our lunch and asked for the menu again, we simply did not get it, so after 45 minutes we went to have a look ourselves. on the Web. Again, the food was tasty, but we will certainly never come here at lunchtime again. Hopefully this will be different during the week or early in the morning.

It gets really full and you do have to wait for a bit sometimes but it’s worth it, the food is really good and for a good price, really fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is great and the staff is really friendly. The drinks are also very creative and unique.

It's a lovely, cozy space in the neighbourhood. I didn't try the food but their dirty chai was tasty and comforting. However, it does get busy and unfortunately you can't make reservations so if you want to go on a weekend, better come early!
