A hidden gem in Delft. An artisanal bakery that makes delicious, crispy sourdough bread. When I have to be in Delft for work, I always pop over to Letters for a baguette and an olive tree for the evening. Trust me... you will never look at supermarket bread again without thinking back with nostalgia to the bread from Letters. More expensive than usual, but absolutely worth it.

Wonderful bakery and friendly staff! Tip: get a delicious filled roll on Friday, your weekend couldn't start better!

Nice bakery with delicious buns and cookies! Friendly staff. It's a bonus that they sell Giraffe Coffee Roasters beans, so I don't have to go to Rotterdam. It's just a shame they don't have cappuccino or other coffee specialties. Definitely recommended!

There should be a Nobel Prize for bakers, and for the time being, it goes to Leffers every year. Their farmhouse sourdough bread is a delight. You can skip the rest; there is nothing wrong with it, but it isn't spectacular either.

Really loved their sandwiches with whipped feta, aubergine, and picked cauliflowers, most importantly sandwiched with nice foccaia breads :) highly recommended!

I cycled from Noordwijk to the shop in Delft on a beautiful summer day, and last week I visited the shop in The Hague. Everything they make is delicious, wonderfully fresh, and crispy. Once you've tasted these artisanal products, you won't want to buy bread from the supermarket anymore.

A phenomenal bakery, their Cardomon buns are my favourite.

The quality of the bread is fantastic. It is like home farmers bread from old village days. The bread does not get moldy or spoil for a long time. Very friendly staff. Higly recomended.

Delicious bread, a clean bakery, and friendly staff. You can see what they're making. My only complaint is that they don't have a slicing machine. I understand they want to guarantee the quality of the bread, but slicing it is sometimes more convenient. Slicing it yourself can also be a bit more difficult for older people. Otherwise, great! I'll definitely come back again.

Super delicious cinnamon rolls, which I've gotten several times! The girls behind the counter are friendly and very helpful, with big smiles. It's a great atmosphere because you can see into the kitchen.

This afternoon I went to the Leffers bakery for the first time. I picked up my online order there. The cinnamon roll was delicious! I also picked up two sourdough loaves, two granola loaves, and four smaller rolls. I'm good for a while. I fit the bakery visit into our 36 km bike ride.

What a treat this is! So wonderfully fluffy, and the crust is wonderfully crunchy! I chose the seed and kernel version. I also chose the cardamom bun. Delicious, bold, and original flavor, and wonderfully soft.

Leffers is a fantastic sourdough bakery. We go there whenever we can. We also regularly get coffee beans or honey there. The cinnamon rolls and cardamom rolls are also a must-try.

I don't even want to tell you about Meneer Leffers for worry that demand might exceed requests... but that would be selfish. If you value great food. their bread is not to miss. They are a bright spot in a country full of food mediocrity.

Real sourdough baker. Where regular bakers and supermarkets stuff their bread with junk, this baker sticks to the basics. Sourdough bread... consists of sourdough starter (fermented flour and water), flour and salt. Super basic, no unnecessary ingredients. Minimally burdensome for the stomach and intestines. No bloating. This is mainly due to the fermentation. Negative points. Very expensive bread, this is of course because the bread takes much more time to become a loaf. But 6 euros for a (very tasty) loaf is expensive. And they don't have a cutting machine. So at home, at the risk of your own life, trying to cut the bread. Is very difficult, because the bread is quite moist, the crust is super crispy and tasty hard. So it is really quite a job. They also have some sweet rolls and some sandwiches.

I understand that the very dark crust may be part of this bakery’s signature style. However, the level of charring on the sourdough I bought was excessive and concerning. Consuming heavily burnt foods increases exposure to acrylamide, a chemical associated with cancer risk. While I appreciate artisanal techniques, I believe it’s important to raise awareness that this kind of baking — when it results in charred products — can pose health risks. I hope the bakery considers adjusting the baking process or informing customers more clearly.

Unfortunately, on Saturdays there is always a nuisance from incorrectly parked cars.

Best cinnamon bun I’ve ever had! You can literally see them rolling the dough, and the taste is perfect — not too overwhelming or sweet. The atmosphere of Meneer Leffers is perfect. It’s off the tourist route and just a small, humble bakery with sweets and bread. The bread is also perfect and fresh. Staff was extremely kind and even made me an extra pot of coffee. Thank you!

Very tasty cinnamon and cardamom buns. I highly recommend getting those very early in the morning when they are fresh and still in stock. Also tried some seed buns/breads, which were tasty as well. They have a larger selection of breads, but their cinnamon buns still remain their speciality, in my opinion.

Quite pricey but seriously tasty. Regularly a new creation that you would not immediately think of, often with a surprising taste. Relaxed atmosphere inside, unless you are claustrophobic.

Bakery where they sell real sourdough. Not standard supermarket food where they claim it is sourdough, but they are cheating. Also tasty. The only drawback is the price. Everything is very expensive.

"Pay attention to the step" sounds corny, but be careful, take this literally to heart when you enter this bakery! For the rest, nothing corny here, on the contrary. Never mind the foggy windows, because international baker's blood is "fermenting" here, they are sculpting artisan bread and cake in front of you. Lack of quality competition explains a lot of the price, I'm afraid, because who can imitate them? Upgrade your sandwich meal or coffee with their products, recommended! (Yeast in quotes because they work with sourdough.)
