Meram - Rotterdam West in Delfshaven

I enjoyed a leisurely brunch with a few friends at Meram on Mathenesserplein. Everything was excellent from the start: we received a friendly welcome and were quickly seated. The waitress was very hospitable and attentive, which immediately created a pleasant atmosphere. The food itself was fresh and full of flavor. We opted for a Mediterranean breakfast, with delicious fresh bread, various spreads and salsas, and perfectly prepared meat. The sucuk and hummus were particularly popular at the table. The coffee was also surprisingly strong and flavorful. The price-quality ratio is excellent. For what you get, both in terms of portion size and flavor, it's truly affordable.

As always, the food was delicious. The soup is highly recommended, and the chicken sizzle never disappoints.

This restaurant has been around for years and has been a favorite! Delicious (fresh) food!! The service is excellent, but the atmosphere is a bit meh—the music is a bit too loud. Otherwise, I highly recommend it because of the delicious food! ♡

I asked for something else from the menu, instead of chicken, just a shawarma mix grill. They said it wasn't possible, but in an unfriendly manner. I also asked for the bill, and while sitting on the terrace, they advised me not to go to the cash register to pay.

I have been to the restaurant many times and even went to its other branches. The reason I haven't been there yet is not because it is bad. There are so many options in Rotterdam, I want to try another one every time I come. It is also a good restaurant in terms of price/performance.

Recently ordered two San Sebastian cheesecakes, as I often do. To my surprise, the dessert was served with hardly any chocolate this time, while it is normally much more generous. After I said something about this, I was told that I had to pay extra for what I previously got as standard. Not because I asked for something special, but simply to get the dish as it should be. It's not about the chocolate. It's about the fact that there is a discussion about something small, while a little service would have been appropriate. That leaves a bad taste, regardless of how the food tastes. Too bad that hospitality and thinking along seem to slowly disappear here. Never again for me!

Twice hair in my food! Came in on Thursday evening around 6:00 PM because Etli Pide had run out, so I ordered Mercimek soup and Adana dish. Soup never arrived, Adana arrived cold with half a paper thin sheet of dürüm. And yes: two hairs in it. Service was also disinterested. Very disappointing.

Ordered loaded Fries via Uber today. A real disappointment. Where's the spring onion, srimayo, cheese sauce? I really missed flavor and spring onions, too bad! I could just as easily have gotten fries with truffle mayo from Bram's. I am satisfied with the delivery.

A really top restaurant with super tasty food and friendly staff.

Ordered via Thuis bezorgd, delivery time was fair and the food was still warm, however the fries were missing from the mixed grill. as for the food the veggie burgers were very sold and a bit soggy. The mixed grill the chunks of chicken were very nice and tender, however the rest of the meat was dry, and the beef chunks were tough. Quality seems a lot lower than the last time we were there in person.

the food just isn't very good, or authentic. it's like a charicature of turkish food and way too expensive. a shame really, since the place is so beautiful inside. hope they'll focus on better food and make their tea free / cheaper, that way it'll really be a place to go back to

It's a nice place, the food is good. There was a lady serving who was around 35-40 years old and her face was very sullen. We ordered Iskender and she said no to us. She was not humane, I thought she was going to beat us up at some point. The place is good but I don't want to come again because of this woman.

The food was plentiful and delicious, the atmosphere was normal, meaningless music was playing. A female service staff of 36-37 years old was not polite at all, we asked for iskender, the lady said there was no iskender in a rude manner and as if she was asking if we would get up and leave, so we ordered something else, if you don't come across the obayan, everything was delicious, I recommend it.

I think it is very important that the attitude of the staff is friendly. I have not seen this with some employees

Meram, you were once so promising and inviting. Today, there is nothing cheerful to say about you. When you look at the price, you don't even dare to turn the first page. Meram's pricing strategy seems to be almost the same as gold prices: it rises, retains its value and simply does not fall. Meram is adding something else, all portions are included under the children's menu. A Turkish proverb states "a hungry bear does not dance" (ac ayi oynamaz). Well, at Meram, a hungry bear would only be able to warm up after a second order, roughly between €45 and €50. Meram, as a customer from the noughties, I hereby make an urgent request to address this disgrace. Change the concept drastically. Businesses like Meram are currently ruining the Rotterdam food skyline with this strange concept. I sincerely hope that you will achieve the best in the (near) future. The atmosphere in the shop, strangely enough or not, is not very inviting either. The toilet is downstairs, accessible via a long steep staircase, so steep that you will have already burned your child's portion on the way back. I also wonder how people with limited mobility are encouraged to visit Meram? As for reviewing the food, the sauces are rather bland, fries often come without salt, portions are particularly small. And what is on the child's plate is not special. But the receipt, oh what a long portion that is. You can count on the fact that with two people you will quickly end up with three digits, before the decimal point, on the receipt. Visit to Meram: Not worth it!

We have eaten here before, sometimes in large groups and sometimes with 3 of us, but there is a lady working there who has been very grumpy and unfriendly the last 2 times we have been. How can you speak to customers with YES and then look at us as if they see water burning... We became very uncomfortable and had to restrain ourselves from saying anything about this, but in the end we just responded here because this is not normal. Sorry but talking to your customers like that and then lying about the dessert, we couldn't think of the name of the dessert and I said Angel Hair, she didn't know what I was talking about and didn't even bother and just said we don't have it and the other one didn't either and looked around her a bit, didn't offer an alternative or a card for anything... In the end my mother and sister were left without dessert because after her blunt reaction she immediately wanted to leave... Called back later and guess what Kunefe was just there and on the menu it is also referred to as Engelenhaar dessert! Very bad. And we no longer know whether we are going. Eating out should be hospitable and pleasant. But this was rushed and uncomfortable. very unfortunate.

The owner was unfriendly. I asked if there was room, because everything may have been reserved. He looked at me as if I was asking a stupid question. Furthermore, when I entered he was unhelpful and unfriendly. I saw how friendly he can be with customers he knows. Staff was nice food was too expensive for the quality Iskender was not eating.

Today we ate at Meram with the whole family. Unfortunately not a pleasant experience. The service was really bad. We had a young lady who was very blunt and did not know how to serve. The meram luxury for 4 people was actually nothing, it had no taste. Finally went for dessert. Ordered ice cream mix “with” fruit. We were not given any fruit when we indicated to the clerk in question that we needed fruit. Her answer was “I'm not in the kitchen, they did that”. Finally asked another clerk and he immediately went to get the fruit, which ultimately consisted of; 5 blueberries and 2 mini pieces of watermelon and a sprig of mint. In short, the service is crap and the food is crap!!! Disappointment!!

Always had a delicious meal before. Now you notice that it looks nice on the inside, but that the dishes are a bit inferior. It seems like that is less of a priority. Too bad, always delicious food. What I really miss is warm fresh bread with the main courses. Sometimes a small difference gives a dish a little more flavor. Now it's as if you have everything ready-made and then serve it. Then I don't have to leave the house and I might as well order it at home. But hey, that's my opinion.

I went for iftar, where the mix grill is €40 pp. Food is not bad, but also not so tasty that it is worth €40.

Nice place to have some baklava and other dessert with nice mint tea and coffee. Also turkish tea ofcourse. A little bit too priced but it has a nice ambiance.

The place is not worth a visit. The food was cold and moreover the meat was not cooked through, it was superficially seared and very raw inside. FROZEN VEGETABLES WERE SERVED AS A SALAD SUBSTITUTE, ON THE MENU CARD THE FOOD LOOKS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Upon request, we were given very contradictory statements, such as that the restaurant was restructured and other very questionable statements. I will never visit this establishment again!!!

Coincidentally, I gave the opportunity to eat here... It was very different than before! Staff is very nice and gives all their attention to the perfect table! They are also very hygienic everything was neat and clean. It bears repeating for me. ;)))

Overall loved the place and atmosphere. The prices are higher vs others but the taste was amazing. The staff was able to converse in English , Turkish and Dutch which was super comfortable . Kunafa is a must try

I've been eating out every day for 20 years. So I know all the dining options. If I eat somewhere twice a week then it's just fine. I visit Meram 3X a week. Grill mix dish is very good.

Menemen is great. Iskender is the most similar to real doner kebab among the ones I have tried in the Netherlands so far. As you know, a paste of unknown origin is sold all over the country under the name of döner. It's not perfect, but it's good enough to satisfy your longing. The manti is the same way, above average. I think the ravioli portion is a little small. Most of the staff are very polite and nice. A few can be colder or inconsistent at times. However, the good ones are really very caring and friendly. I wish you continued success!

It is a place that I would strongly recommend in Rotterdam, with its magnificent atmosphere, magnificent decoration, hygiene, friendliness and customer satisfaction quality, a wide variety of Turkish cuisine tastes. Lekker gegeten, vlees was precies goed. De hoeveelheid is goed gebalanceerd een leuke sfeer , mooie uitzicht. Prijs was heel goed.

Echt een familie restaurant. Ik kom hier sinds mijn jeugd. Veel veranderd, maar eten blijft lekker en vertrouwd.. vooral toetjes zijn heerlijk.. het is prijzig maar wel waard voor als je van lekkers houdt.. Ook voor rokers is het fijn dat je op het terras kan zitten..

Restoran Meram poznat je po svojoj ponudi autentične turske kuhinje. Obično nude širok izbor jela poput kebaba, pita, grilovanih mesnih jela, humusa, raznih salata, pide (turske pizze) i slastica poput baklave.

Vrlo dobar kebab i ljubazno osoblje.

Heerlijke eten maar als een kersje op onze al verrukkelijke taart was onze serveerder van de avond, Dennis. Geweldige en zonnige personaliteit en hij heeft onze ervaring compleet gemaakt. Geweldige service. Als onze ervaring 5 sterren was heeft Dennis zeker een zesde ster toegevoegd. Een aanrader! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
