Mercato Pizza & Pasta Bar in Wijk 02 Geertruidenberg

Mercato Pizza is located in a beautiful and historic location on the Geertruidenberg market. We have walked past it a few times and now decided to try the pizzas. The service is good and very friendly. There is a wide choice of drinks, starters, antipasti, pasta and pizzas. There is less choice for children; you can order smaller pastas, but no children's pizza, which is a shame. It would be a nice added value if the pizzas were also available in child size. We now had to order a large pizza for our bambino. We chose the prosciutto pizza, the Tartuffo di Funghi pizza and the Caprese pizza. The pizzas look good; the crust seems crispy, but is a bit too doughy for our taste and just lacked the crunch. The big one is good. The taste of the Tartuffo di Funghi was disappointing. I had opted for a pizza with truffle, but here truffle tapenade is used. Although I love truffle in many dishes, the flavor in this pizza was too overpowering, making the pizza inedible for me. I ended up giving the pizza back to the waitress, who offered to make another pizza. Due to lack of time and because my son still had a large pizza, I ate it. I had expected that there would be some financial compensation, but unfortunately that did not happen. The other two pizzas were not bad, the prosciutto pizza was generously topped with ham, the Caprese pizza was tasty but I missed the fresh basil. The tiramisu is homemade and delicious, and the coffee – from fresh beans – was very tasty. In short: a little more attention to the dough would be nice. Think Neapolitan pizza dough and 00 flour with a high W value of 260 to 310. Truffle paste can be a good option, but you could dilute it with olive oil and drizzle it on top. Or, for a fancier version, grate fresh truffle on top and use a quality olive oil. Furthermore, if you make fresh dough, it is very easy to make bambino pizzas by simply halving a ball of dough to make a small pizza. Good, great with some attention.

Nice place to have a drink and a snack. Nice beers too. Haven't eaten there yet so can't say anything about that yet. The golden toilets are also nice.

There's nothing more to say, it was great

After many positive stories, I am a little less positive: we had to wait a very long time for food. It was said that the kitchen was busy, but even the drinks took a long time (2 girls at the bar for a few tables?!). Couple of downsides: -Pine nuts were not roasted in all dishes. It's a real shame, they don't taste good. - Vitello tonatto had a beer taste?? Did not include salad as stated. - Mushrooms in hot dish barely fried. In short, I've definitely had better Italian food more often. Carpaccio is not the most difficult dish, but due to raw pine nuts and a few small leaves of arugula, it is really substandard. Shame!

Best Pizza and pasta in Geertruidenberg and surrounding areas

Didn't know they did delivery until I saw the bikes passing by.. Ordered today and it was delicious. This is the first time but certainly NOT the last. Price/quality is top!!!

Good food, we order there regularly! Now take a seat in the restaurant upstairs. Small is beautiful. You can also sit on the terrace (when the sun shines). Unfortunately we were there when it was raining heavily.

Picked up pizza and capaccio. Both incredibly tasty. We have been trying to eat here once during the weekend, but you have to book well in advance and we are more into the spontaneous action. So I can't say anything about the restaurant, but the food is certainly delicious

Restaurant with a rather small but well put together menu. Both starters and main courses tasted excellent. The visit to the pizzeria was based on the recommendation of our Airb'n'b hostess.

Cozy restaurant. They are extensive and a very nice addition. Pizzas are fantastic. Highly recommended. Friendly service.

Often order delicious food here. The restaurant itself is not that big, so finding a seat is sometimes difficult.

Super delicious pastas and cannelloni, only a few tables available

The staff is very friendly, we recommend eating there with a nice glass of wine.

Delicious lunch at a beautiful location in Geertruidenberg. I took the bruschetta and received 3 different ones. All very tasty. Vitello tonnato on a fresh bulb is also highly recommended!

Went here for dinner with 2 and had a really delicious meal, 2 times a pizza with a rose. Service was great, people very nice. Had a calzone and a "normal" quatro staggione pizza and both were very tasty. Dough is delicious and no cluttered mountain of toppings, but all very fresh. Recommended

Gezellig restaurantje met vriendelijke mensen en authentieke Italiaanse keuken. Heerlijke pizza's met echte huisgemaakte bodem en verse ingrediënten. Mijn vriendin eet hier erg graag de glutenvrije pasta.

Hele lekkere pizza's. Voor ons de lekkerste. Druk maar dan wachten we maar even.

In het mooie Geertruidenberg aan de Markt zit deze meer dan prima Italiaanse pizza en pasta bar. Onze eerste kennismaking en zeker niet de laatste. Personeel is vriendelijk en enthousiast. Ook met +30 Celsius en een volle winkel en terras. De gerechten op de kaart zijn authentiek (ondanks een kleine misser de pizza Hawaï 😉). Heerlijk gegeten, genoten van de procecco en de tiramisu als aanrader! Tot snel!

Heerlijk eten voor een goede prijs! Lekker om af te halen maar nog fijner om ter plaatse uitgebreid te eten.

Aardige ontvangst, heerlijk schotel van het huis genomen en een heerlijke merlot uit Italië erbij. Fijne bediening, kortom een aanrader als je in Geertruidenberg bent. De voormalige Synagoge heeft volgens mij een waardige bestemming gekregen.

Heerlijk gegeten bij deze lekkere italiaan. Als voorgerecht bruschetta en champignons in een heerlijke saus. Daarna spaghetti met zalm en pasta met kip en truffel. Een lekkere fles wijn uit puglia. De bediening was vriendelijk en attent. De rekening ook aangenaam. Hier steeds weer tevreden, kortom een aanrader.

Ontzettend lekker gegeten en zeer behulpzame bediening, ik kan niet anders dan aanraden hier een bezoek te brengen.

Malheureusement, mauvaise experience en famille. Pas beaucoup de monde et pourtant, 1h10 entre notre arrivée et le moment où nous avons reçu notre plat. C'était insoutenable pour les enfants et même nous, adultes en avions marre. Ça a été long pour prendre notre commande, ça a été long pour reçevoir nos plats. Les plats n'étaient pas bon. Chorizo brûlé sur ma pizza, gratin noir (brûlé) sur les pâtes des enfants. Portions trop petites, pizza peu garnie et très fine. Je souligne quand meme la gentillesse de la serveuse, très agréable. Je ne recommande pas.
