Had a delicious 6-course menu. Too bad about the limited selection of (non-alcoholic) beer. Wines were fine.

UPDATE 20-06-2026: What an experience it was again in terms of the dishes, but what deserves the most admiration is how incredibly professional the entire team was last night. The evening started outside in the back garden. I estimate about 65 guests, maybe even more, all of whom were having multiple courses. Around 10:00 PM, it looked like it was going to rain quite heavily, so everything had to be moved inside. Just try getting that organized. It went so well that eventually everyone, including the larger groups, had a seat. Just try knowing who was sitting outside where and where they are sitting now and which course they were on!! It all went so smoothly that it felt like we had been sitting inside from the start. Incredibly smooth. A very, very deep bow to the entire staff of t Weeshuys. You couldn't have done this better. There wasn't even a tiny little thing to criticize. And that in the heat of last night, and to think they had already served lunch in the blazing sun. Hats off to them! Top restaurant. The service staff is so well coordinated and truly notices everything. The kitchen team manages to create a fantastic menu every single time. One of our favorite restaurants.

Upscale restaurant. It offers various themed weeks throughout the year (game, lobster, asparagus, Easter, Christmas). Tables are sufficiently spaced apart for pleasant conversation without being disturbed by nearby tables. It's located in a former orphanage and features a high vaulted room, as well as a side room and private dining area. There's an open kitchen. There's an extensive wine list, including wine pairings. The staff is courteous and welcoming. The food is tailored to the theme, if there is one. Both lunch and dinner are available.

What a surprise! As you enter the restaurant, a beautiful blend of classic and modern greets you. Modern murals in a historic room. An open kitchen, comfortable tables and booths. That's a great start. The service is excellent, friendly, and professional. The food is fantastic, generous portions, classic dishes with a lovely modern twist. Good ingredients and sometimes a taste explosion. The accompanying wines are excellent. Well-balanced, a mix of classic and modern. And above all, delicious.

Reservations for vegans are not possible. What a disappointment!

Lovely summer evening weather, and 't Weeshuys simply arranged for everyone to sit outside. No fuss, just attentive service. A very beautiful and comfortable garden, too. We enjoyed four courses with wine. Everything was excellent: varied, surprising, and perfectly seasoned. The kitchen makes excellent choices with beautiful presentation, and they are also carefully explained at the table. The price-quality ratio is excellent. We had a wonderful evening!

A gem of a restaurant. A very extensive and carefully selected menu. Also, a more than excellent drink selection. The staff are very hospitable, enthusiastic, and above all, extremely professional. Located in a charming setting with a Burgundian character. Enjoyment with a capital E. A visit to this acclaimed venue is therefore highly recommended.

Highly recommended. Portions are the perfect size to ensure you've eaten enough by the end, and the wines pair perfectly with the food. The staff also keeps a close eye on everything, such as refilling your water or other chosen drink, etc. Excellent!

We went here for the first time and chose the Valentine's Day menu. A beautiful and original interior that you can gaze at for ages. A total of no fewer than 14 dishes! It's a good thing we arrived at six o'clock, otherwise it would have been very late. However small some of the dishes were (thankfully), there was so much attention to detail and presentation. Several surprising combinations, but without fuss and with unexpectedly complementary flavors. A wealth of impressions, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Very special and definitely worth a visit. Friendly and knowledgeable service, in short, highly recommended and worth a detour!

The food was fine, but it was very crowded, and there was little attention to the customers. We went without a drink for 20-30 minutes several times, asked for drinks several times, and unfortunately, didn't get any. The food was fine, the service was way below par. The staff was friendly, but there were simply too many tables to serve. Definitely not worth the money; I think it's a huge waste. There's little attention to the customer, which is a shame!

Fancy lunch with friends where we all went with the 6 course chef's surprise and some with the wine pairing. I really enjoyed the first sea food courses. I think the fishes were well cooked, and I like the delicate sauces that came with it. I wasn't a fan of the 3rd vegetarian course, because I think it didn't belong in such an expensive afaire. The meat course was delicious, tho I missed a little bit of seasoning, perhaps more sauce would have helped. The 2 last courses were more desserts (incl the cheese course), which were also delicious. I would also suggest to have more mocktail choices for those not drinking alcohol.

We thoroughly enjoyed the six-course menu. Delicious, varied dishes. The portions were good. Even if you don't eat fish, they'll serve you an equivalent alternative. The wines were well-matched.

The food is incredibly good! The atmosphere in the building and in the garden is incredibly warm. The reception was not quite great. It took a while before someone came to welcome us and offer us a drink. In addition, a relatively large number of students work in service. One of them clearly knew a lot about wine, but another sometimes had to ask a colleague something. There is nothing wrong with that in an average restaurant, but in this price range I expect to be pampered and that the person at the table knows a lot about the food. The wine/food was not quite right: during the first two courses the wine was evened out by the dish. The last two courses were good. The price/quality ratio is okay in terms of food, but the wine could be a little better.

Een jaartje of 3 geleden waren we ook al eens bij ’t Weeshuys wezen eten. Dit beviel toen er goed, dus toen een collega van mijn vrouw voorstelde om hier een keer te dineren lieten we ons dat geen twee keer zeggen. Toen we aankwamen was het personeel net bezig te inhoud van de tafels van buiten naar binnen te brengen in verband met de regen die net viel, dus het was een klein beetje een chaos. Maar, alles werd snel in orde gebracht en we kregen een tafel voor in de zaak met uitzicht op de markt. ’t Weeshuys zit in een schitterend oud pand met een zeer hoog dak. De inrichting is modern klassiek. We hadden gereserveerd voor het “BIJNA VAKANTIE FESTIJN” van 6 gangen voor 95 euro. Hierbij kwam er eerst “een bruisend” begin op tafel met een 3-tal erg lekkere amuses om de smaakpapillen eens goed wakker te schudden met een lekkere glas cava. Vervolgens krijgen we de volgende 6 gangen gepresenteerd: HOENDER | beukenzwam | kerrie | amandel -> De terrine bestond uit 2 bereidingen van hoender en smaakte lekker fris en een tikkie rokerig. Een lekkere crunch van de amandel zorgde voor een extra textuur. Een meer dan prima begin! ANANAS TOMAAT | dragon | stracciatella | olijven -> De ananas die geen ananas was, maar tomaat. Maar wat een lekker samenspel van fris, zuur & hartig. Wauw! Met dit soort gerechtjes worden we graag vaker verrast! SCHELVIS | lavendel | Pineau de Charentes | spinazie -> Bij het op tafel zetten kwam de geur van de perfect bereide schelvis je al tegemoet. Kort geschroeid van buiten ook een plaatje om te dien. En voor een tussengerecht een flinke portie! Samen met de ananas tomaat mijn 2 favoriete gerechten van de avond. EENDENBOUT | mandarijn | couscous | gele biet -> Gekonfijte eend. Ik word al blij als ik de term hoor. En hij viel inderdaad zo van het bod. Supermals vlees, krokant velletje. Zoete mandarijn, gele biet die zowel zoet, zuur als lekker aardse tonen aan het gerecht toevoegde. Heerlijk. En weer een flinke portie! KAASSELECTIE | suikernoot | mostarda | abrikoos -> Prima kazen, alleen had ik wellicht een andere volgorde gekozen. Het krokantje waar de hartige & zoete tonen aan waren toegevoegd was leuk gepresenteerd. KERS | chocolade | citrus | PX sherry -> En natuurlijk aansluitend bij het seizoen een dessert met kers. Deze was prima, maar wat één dimensionaal. Een frisje hierbij was welkom geweest. Bij de kaasselectie had een van onze tafelgenoten een dessert met rabarber. Ik vermoed dat ik deze liever had gehad. Vervolgens gingen we nog aan de koffie met wat lekkere friandieses. De zwarte brigade deze avond was top: De gerechten en de wijnen werden perfect uitgelegd. Halverwege de avond werd er gecontroleerd of het tempo zo goed was. Daar kunnen ze bij andere restaurants een voorbeeld aan nemen. Op de juiste momenten worden de vragen gesteld om water/drinken: fijn! Ondanks de grote open ruimte en de afwerking is het qua geluidsniveau toch nog prima te doen hier, ook al zit het restaurant vol. Ook wel fijn. Minpuntjes? Eentje eigenlijk -> De hoeveelheid vliegen waren niet fijn. Je zit de hele tijd te zwaaien aan tafel. Misschien een half uurtje voor de service begint iemand in de zaak op jacht sturen. Helemaal voorkomen doe je het niet, maar dit was iets te veel. Maar… verder hebben we heerlijk genoten. Een mooie locatie, fijne bediening, top eten en prima wijnen! Voeg daar de ruime porties en de vriendelijk prijs aan toe en we hebben allen reden om weer eens terug te gaan!

Enjoyed a 6 course dinner. Beautiful presentation of the courses. Delicious combinations of products that give a taste party in your mouth. If you are not too picky about what you want to eat, whether you like it or not and want something special for once, this is definitely recommended.

It was a special occasion for us to go to the Weeshuys. Especially based on very positive experiences from friends who love tasty, tasty and special dishes. And we are not averse to that at times and at special moments. The beautiful weather meant that the attractively decorated inner terrace was ready to receive the guests. Everything was designed to surprise and relax the guests in culinary terms. We enjoyed all the courses, the balanced dishes, and the accessible hospitality. As a result, our memorable moment will remain with us for a long time. It was worth sharing with immediate loved ones afterwards.

Voor ons 15 jarig huwelijk zijn we weer eens gaan eten bij het Weeshuys. Wederom heerlijk gegeten aan ons favoriete tafeltje. We hadden een 5 gangen menu van de chef met een half wijnarrangement. Elk gerechtje was heerlijk, zo ook de bijpassende wijnen. De Lambrusco paste verrassend goed bij het rood fruit/rabarber dessert. De tuin is net vernieuwd, dus we kijken uit naar mooi weer!

Het restaurant is even zoeken, geen uithangbord en moeilijk parkeren in de buurt. Vriendelijke ontvangst en bediening. Alles klopte wat betreft voorkeuren en allergieën. Eten was heerlijk, goede sfeer, stevige prijs.

After a colleague's recommendation, we made a reservation at “het Weeshuys”. And what a wonderful restaurant, great service, nice and polite, not pushy, the food was really fantastic, together with a wine arrangement, I really enjoyed the taste and wine experience. Oh and the price-quality ratio is really great. So a gem in Geertruidenberg and I also recommend “het Weeshuys” to people!!

Weer een sterwaardig Kerst verrassingsmenu van Adri en zijn team. Bijzonder gastvriendelijke benadering. Wijnarrangement van Tom was weer verrassend en heerlijk.

Het Weeshuys bezorgt ons iedere keer weer een heerlijke avond. Bediening is proactief en zeer gastvrij. Het eten en bijpassende wijnarrangementen blijven ons iedere keer verrassen. Bij ‘t Weeshuys kom je niet om op twee uur gegeten te hebben. Je komt er om je avondvullend culinair te laten verwennen.

Fantastisch lekker 5 gangen diner op.

ontzettend fijn om daar te eten er wordt rekening gehouden met je wensen/dieet. het eten smaakt geweldig. het personeel is heel attent en vriendelijk. er is altijd een gezellige sfeer.

Altijd goed eten en een heerlijke informele sfeer.

Te weinig personeel, zowel in de keuken als in de bediening. Te veel tafels in de zaal gepropt. Diner duurde daardoor van 19:00 tot 23:35 uur. Slechte akoestiek, veel lawaai. Schandalige prijzen voor met name de wijn. Wijnarrangement wordt je opgedrongen. Dan krijg je vervolgens kleine glaasjes alsof je een bob-arrangement hebt besteld. De wijnen waren bovendien niet passend bij de gerechten en erg goedkoop ingekocht. (Gecheckt: allemaal schroefdop wijntjes van tussen de 5 en 10 euro in de winkel dus inkoop voor de horeca nog goedkoper Alles dus erg winst-gedreven. Laat u dus nooit een wijnarrangement aansmeren! Conclusie: veel te duur voor de geboden kwaliteit. 250 euro voor 2 personen is het zeker niet waard. We komen hier nooit meer.

Dit is een culinaire belevenis. 't weeshuys is sterwaardig. Je krijgt de meest fantastische gerechten voorgeschoteld en je kunt kiezen voor een 4 5 of 6 gangen verassings menu, of a la carte. Daarbij kun je een wijnarrangement nemen die wordt uitgekozen door de vriendelijke sommelier en het geheel nog completer maken. Het personeel is professioneel en super vriendelijk en maken je avond een complete belevenis.

Elegant Restaurant. Beautifully presented dishes but underwhelms on many steps. The food was pretty and well cooked (especially the protein was on point every time), but lacked flavor. The best course was the amuse-bouche and 1st ap (beetroot and cod) and went downhill after. The kitchen was slow. 2 hours before our 3rd course arrived. The service was ok. They balked at my request for a candle to blow out at the desert course (we were celebrating a birthday). And charged us extra coffees and drinks we did not order and did not even apologize after we caught the mistake. Would not recommend it to a friend.

Non conoscendo il posto siamo andati a tentativo in base alle foto viste su il sito …devo dire che siamo stati molto sorpresi e soddisfatti… posto elegante, raffinato, cibo ottimo, presentazione ed abbinamenti eccellenti, non parlavamo inglese o olandese, sono stati carinissimi ad aiutarci a capire cosa mangiavamo.. arrivando al nostro tavolo con un piccolo carnet dove avevano tradotto tutto in italiano ..ogni volta che arrivava il piatto … vino ottimo … non si mangia alla carta ma ci sono 3 tipi di menu … 4/5/6 portate … a sorpresa perché sceglie lo chef … perciò bisogna affidarsi a lui … non sai cosa ti arriva … devo dire che siamo stati meravigliosamente sorpresi e molto felici della nostra scelta … prezzi in linea con il cibo … lo consiglio vivamente…

We visited the Weeshuys about a year ago and had an excellent dinner. This explains why we went again. Amazing, they managed to keep the standard – actually they even improved. The set menu was very nice, the portions the right size, good wine, the staff friendly and professional. Next time in the area – we go again.

Wauw wat een fijne plek! Een hele mooie locatie, super goed personeel & heerlijk eten! Overal is aan gedacht & er werd extreem goed rekening gehouden met alle allergieën en wensen! We komen hier graag snel weer terug!
