Ming Palace Duiven in Wijk 03 Duiven-Noord

Yesterday we went here with our family to celebrate my mother's 64th birthday. To warn others against making the same (wrong) choice as we did, here's my review. The food was utterly tasteless, and the service even worse! - The buffet food was mostly cold and barely had any flavor. In one vegetable dish, all the vegetables tasted exactly the same. This is striking because broccoli has a completely different flavor than a bell pepper, but not in this dish. - The cold buffet was barely replenished, so there was no choice. - The teppanyaki dishes were prepared without expertise. They were overcooked to the point that there wasn't a drop of moisture left in either the fish or the meat, making them dry and tough. - The sauces you could order separately were tasteless. - The ice cream in the dessert buffet was crystallized. - The pizza slices were burnt. - The gyoza were poorly prepared. We were completely blown away by the way we were treated. The woman who greeted us (the owner) was immediately irritated and rude to us upon arrival and failed to change her attitude during our visit. We came as a family with small children, and they too were not spared her extremely rude reactions. I cannot understand how you can welcome or treat guests in your restaurant this way. However, a staff member was subjected to the same treatment; she cursed and denigrated a young man who looked no older than 18. What a terrible place. As far as I'm concerned, it shouldn't be called a restaurant, as I expect both decent food and friendly customer service from a restaurant. The only positive feedback I have is for two staff members (a man and a woman) who did greet us kindly when we left.

On December 13, 2025, our family dined at Restaurant Ming in Duiven. What an extreme disappointment. The food served buffet-style was mostly cold. Cold dishes weren't replenished, quickly limiting the selection. The teppanyaki dishes were consistently overcooked, which significantly impacted the quality. Furthermore, the sauces were practically tasteless, and the gyozas were poorly prepared. Besides the disappointing quality of the food, the staff was also very unpleasant. We received an unfriendly welcome, and throughout our entire visit, the woman serving us was visibly irritated and unfriendly in her communication and demeanor. This manifested itself several times in extremely unfriendly reactions toward both us and our children, which we found inappropriate and especially unacceptable for the children. This combination of subpar food quality and unfriendly treatment made our visit extremely disappointing. An evening out should be a positive and hospitable experience, which unfortunately was absolutely not the case here.

It was quite disappointing. You had to order teppanyaki with your mobile phone. No stir-fry dishes, and you can't preview what it looks like. Everything is done via your phone and photos. There were very few dessert options. There were seven of us, but we wouldn't go back to this restaurant. It's a shame.

We got takeout. It was delicious! A bit of an old-fashioned takeout service, but the food was really good!

You definitely get your money's worth. Perhaps a bit less selection, but excellent food for a great price. Orders sometimes don't go perfectly, but you manage and you'll definitely not go hungry.

The food is generally good, that's for sure. But the fries were cold and the rice was hard. I don't like that. I can't handle comments, they get angry. But otherwise, it's well-organized and friendly.

Ordered through Thuisbezorgd for the first time. The food was delivered on time. The Chinese menu I ordered was delicious. However, of the two children's menus I ordered, one was terrible. The fries were old and seemed reheated. The second children's menu was slightly better, but also didn't look very fresh.

The food "tastes Chinese," and it's inexpensive: good value for money. However, I've been disappointed several times at the buffet: no sushi without notice, or even no buffet at all. It's a shame there's no mention of that on the website. The food is anything but healthy; if you're having a cheat day, it's nice that they're actually open on the days they say they are, or on the days you have your guilty pleasures. Too bad, again.

Disgraceful service after waiting an hour and 45 minutes. We'd already mentioned this several times. No discount. And after we said we wanted a refund, they still said the food was on its way. Again, it took longer than they said.

Very disappointed with Ming Palace Duiven. Now I understand why it's never busy and the parking lots are almost always empty. The food was (inedible) with little choice. And if you have it prepared late, it takes a very long time, even though there are hardly anyone in the restaurant, maybe 20 people at most. Sushi was very bad. The mussels were more like chewing gum with mussel flavor. I chewed the steak for an hour, but the ice cream containers were almost empty; the bottom was already visible and they weren't replenished. Desserts had little choice. All you can eat, very few choices. So many flies inside, not really tasty when you're eating! And the staff... an older couple is put at the table. The guests take off their coats and go get something to eat. A younger couple comes in and sits at the table where the older couple was sitting. They leave the table, and something is said to the staff, and the older couple has to switch tables. Very strange! It's a shame I had to give one star, even that's 20 times too much! Hoping this store closes soon what a disappointment!

We went here for the buffet, which was disappointing. Too few people were using it, meaning the already small buffet dried out and wasn't replenished quickly. Furthermore, the building and surrounding area could use some maintenance. Takeout seems to be doing well, judging by the number of cars picking up their food.

Ordered Chinese food as agreed, everything was ready on time. Enjoyed the delicious rice table I ordered at home. Excellent.

Friendly owner, delicious food, but not overly spacious due to its small size. The exterior could use some updating, and it looks a bit cluttered with all the shutters on other stands and overcrowded windowsills. Great deal with the social deal.

The food is really good, but there are flies everywhere that eat the food. This is unhygienic for me, and why don't you have lamb chops automatically? Why do you have to order them through an app linked to a restaurant and then wait 30 minutes? That's nonsense, but I did enjoy it!

Voor de 3de keer besteld om te laten bezorgen. De eerste 2 keer waren ze de kroepoek vergeten, geen ramp. Dit keer kregen we de helft van de bestelling. Er hing een briefje op van afhaal. Gebeld, wel 10 keer moeten uitleggen. Uiteindelijk, chauffeur zou verkeerde bestelling komen ophalen en binnen een kwartier nieuwe juiste bestelling brengen. 45 minuten later maar weer eens gebeld. Chauffeur was onderweg, en we mochten de verkeerde bestelling houden. Wat denk je, kregen we de aanvulling! Dus helft koud en andere helft warm. Dit is voor de druppel. Ik ga voortaan wel in een ander dorp eten bestellen

First time here today, not recommended. The place is standard and okay. The food is generously prepared with "filling" additives and tastes subterranean. For €34 per person, I expect quality and service. I tried a few things, and almost everything was masked with flavor enhancers. Never again, it's a disgrace what you get for the money. Any chip shop is a better alternative.

The entourage is not very attractive, the food tastes good except for the potato dishes. But that is not Asian. Hot buffet is not very big. And the teppan goes via a QR code. A lot of choice only older people do not have a phone.

It seemed like a big deal through social deal. Once there it was quite disappointing. When we arrived it took quite a while before someone came to help. Choice was anything but huge and certainly not what it looked like in the photos. I felt misled. Was no atmosphere. Food was tasty (although we missed a lot). Only the Tepinyaki (or however you write it) was mediocre and not as scanning the QR code suggested. Wasn't busy at all either. No second time for us

Hello. I don't recommend this place, it's the first and last time I visited there, if anyone has been to a similar place but a real one, e.g. "Wok de Molen", then this place won't be worth it, the prices are the same and the food is the same 🥘 it's hard to describe, best regards

We were there at 6:15 PM, but the cold dishes were almost gone. It wasn't until an hour later that something was replenished, but the choice remained limited. Compared to other all-you-can-eat restaurants, we found the offering less extensive. The ordering system for grilled dishes works via a QR code. Max. four dishes per person. (even the sauce counts as a dish) This of course prevents queues, but it still took a very long time. The service, on the other hand, was good. The staff were polite and friendly. However, the atmosphere was a bit strange. Instead of quiet background music, we heard K3 and the song "Dat Interesteert Me Echt Geen Ene Reet" four times in two hours. This is not exactly appropriate for a Chinese restaurant. In short: friendly service, but a limited choice and a special atmosphere.

food was superbly delicious. place is clean and really nice. but the staff a bit not friendly sorry to say, compared to other chinese restaurants i have been. she is not even smiling and food took long when it arrived. But the buffet was fine and really yummy.

Food was good... Unfortunately very few deserts. But the soup and everything else... Was well prepared as well as the grill plate. Plenty of choice and good cold drinks.

Although the hot food was excellent, the decoration of the buffet did not look like the social deal photos. Things were not replenished, little choice of sushi and there were empty whipped cream containers. Orange machine was broken but the oranges were still in it. The concept: all you can eat for 31.50 euros. Ready-made (largely Chinese) dishes, but also fries and small snacks. And tapas can be ordered using a smartphone and barcode (very limited choice). Every time I come back here, on average once a year, things seem to be getting worse. The buffet should open at 5 p.m. Unfortunately, there was no one to receive and it was only 20 minutes later that the ready-made hot dishes were in place. Drinks are self-serve. You must always ask for beer (with or without alcohol) at the usually unstaffed bar. The fresh orange juice machine appears to have been broken for some time. With the finished orange peels still in it. Service is pleasant and friendly and often by endearing 14-17 year olds. Apparently family. No company clothing. Starters: from salted herring to half eggs and sushi: choice and quality: moderate. Ready-made dishes: fries completely cold, rice dishes and noodles/mihoen: lukewarm. The bami consists of bare noodles without ingredients, the nasi consists of white rice with tiny traces of vegetables. Mihoen: moderate. White rice: good. Babi pangang surprisingly good. Satay and most meat dishes: fair to good. Foe Yong hai and hot vegetables: good. Then the tapas! I think the prawns and mussels come straight from the freezer. The salmon was gray and tasted like rubber, so apparently the same. The steak was good and so was the sea bass. The sauces are usually too salty. Desserts are not rated. Summary conclusion: certainly not worth repeating. Within a reasonable distance there are plenty of options for better food for less or the same amount.

I placed an order, but when I got home the white rice was not there. Called at 5:45 pm and it would be delivered as soon as possible. Called again at 6.45 pm...she says she is on her way...we live in Duiven!!!!! It's already past 7pm, all the other food is already cold and our appetite is ruined......

It is easy that you can order, pay online and then only have to collect or have it delivered. The food is also tasty and the staff friendly

Famous colored sushi, Chinese dishes. And fried fresh fish and spicy meats. Make your own cheese board. Take your time... of course there are fries too. The wines are great to drink.

Bad tent… order delivered an hour late and also the wrong order. Was put on hold for a very long time, eventually resolved myself and called the telephone number whose order actually belonged to. I will never order from here again!

Great wok restaurant with good quality Very tasty fish and meat from the griddle! Fantastic that there is still such a restaurant with fair prices and high quality. We like to come there and really enjoy all the delicious dishes and desserts!

Traditional Chinese with the usual dishes. It all looks a bit dated. The business is on two tracks: a la carte and all you can eat with buffet. Buffet is only open if there are enough customers. It's not bad, but not very special either. For the price, fine.

Correct service, good food, unfortunately keeping the building clean is not a priority, cobwebs from the wall to your table or from the windows to the wall. The outside of the building could also be cleaned up a bit. Too bad because otherwise it is a nice place to stay... cleaning it a bit better would be an upgrade. Went back again this week, coincidentally got the same table again and apparently they had read the review, the cobwebs were gone. Nice, isn't it?

Uselessly placed an order online to pick up at 5 p.m We had to wait almost an hour, everyone who came to the counter was helped earlier and when you ask how long it will take, everyone arrives. Worthless.

Chinees, na een expositie geen zin om te koken, maar wel zin in Chinees eten. We hadden gereserveerd voor het all-in buffet. We kregen een net tafeltje en het restaurant was goed bezet. Eerst maar een drankje (wijn van de tap) en voorafjes halen bij het buffet. Ik begon met sushi, paling etc, lekker ik heb nog een rondje langs de voorafjes gemaakt. Voor de hoofdmaaltijden kun je gewoon via een qr-code bestellen en/of langs het buffet. Ik bestelde biefstuk met champignonsaus (niet echt Chinees bedacht ik me later) maar die wordt door de kok bij het buffet persoonlijk bereid. Biefstuk waren 5 stukjes best veel, wel wat bloederig (je kon geen gering opgeven) maar wel heerlijk. Toen een rondje buffet ik heb de pizza en friet overgeslagen, alleen Chinees deze ronde. Nadeel van buffet, dat je toch te snel te veel opschept en het was lekker, dus ik was snel verzadigd. Desert, een ronde met fruit, spekkoek (hmm) wat ijs en een bavorois? en kokoskoek, de macarons heb ik laten staan. Tegen 20:00 wordt het wel rustig in het restaurant, dus kom hier niet te laat. Ik heb geen muziek gehoord, de service (bediening) was top, ambiance is redelijk maar eten goed. (Ik ben geen Chinees kenner).

Delicious food. All-you-can-eat, but with privacy and pleasant dining. I think the concept of ordering from the kitchen and bringing the wok meal (meat/fish) to the table is fantastic. Really great. Thanks for the hospitality.

It is my boy friend's favourite. We bought a package which contained 5 boxes of different kinds of food but i am sorry I didn't know the correct name of the food but there were rice, pork, vegetables, fuyunghai, satay, mini spring rolls. The package can be for 2-4 people. The food tasted great and yummy. When we order take away, they have a very nice and comfy waiting room (i really wanted to take photo but there were other people in the room). Definitely will order again before I am going back home to Bali.

No warm welcome. Not a good evening, grumpy staff. It was not appreciated that we were unexpectedly with fewer people. Had to wait a long time to order the tepanyaki. Plates not too clean, greasy. Unfortunately, desserts such as small donut cakes and small glasses of pudding were not replenished. This actually needs to be supplemented.

A cozy restaurant, with our group we sat in a cozy room. You can enjoy very tasty food there with an extensive buffet. Ordering the plate sometimes took a bit long, because it was very busy, but it tasted great. Unfortunately, the ice cream was not in stock at the dessert buffet, but there was still good enough choice, lots of fruit, and we enjoyed the Lyches.

Eten laten bezorgen via "thuisbezorgd". Doen we nooit meer. Bezorger zou 10 minuten moeten rijden naar ons adres, hij deed er drie kwartier over. Hele omweg gemaakt, wat blijkbaar een gewoonte is. Gevolg was dat het eten eerst weer opgewarmd moest worden in de magnetron. Reactie van Ming Palace was: "ach dan bestel je toch niet meer bij ons".

Vandaag met een grote groep hier wezen eten (35) Personeel heeft er weinig zin in. Geen eten voorbereiden. Lang wachten tot iets weer werd aangevuld. Droog vlees. Eens maar nooit meer.

After being a very good restaurant for many years, it is now in serious decline. Food sometimes even undercooked. Management doesn't say a word. Buffet is not replenished. There is no atmosphere. Shame. Always used to be a great thing every year.

We ended up here quite by chance and had certain expectations of a wok restaurant as we know it from our local wok in Veghel. Unfortunately, this wok doesn't hold up to the comparison. We see it more as a buffet, with some dishes having been in the rechaud for too long. Later in the evening the desserts were no longer replenished, so you had to make do with the leftovers. The service was otherwise okay.

Made a reservation through social deals Upon arrival the building looked run down. When we arrived, we could just say good evening and Mrs. immediately started very briefly, you know the concept. We like (yes) then we got a little tour this is here that is there here is your table. And we had to figure it out ourselves. We had booked 2.5 hours, of which we had to wait 3 times 1/2 hour is 1 1/2 for our meat, which we had to order via a scan code. And the rest of the food had dried out or the containers were empty. So no second time for us

Slecht restaurant, omdat je denken enigste in de buurt te zijn .slechte kwaliteit van eten en zeer slechte hygiëne en zeer slecht service

Bij bestellen aan de afhaalbalie moet je echt goed opletten en meekijken of het allemaal klopt wat je besteld als je geholpen wordt door de oude dame. Deze spreekt en begrijpt slecht Nederlands waardoor het bij ons al meerdere malen fout is gegaan. Ook doet deze oudere dame altijd moeilijk over de sambal die je kunt pakken. Als ik voor 6 man eten bestel heb ik niet genoeg aan 1 of 2 van die kleine cupjes sambal die nog niet half vol zitten.

When ordering at the pick-up counter, you really have to pay close attention and check whether what you order is correct when the old lady helps you. This person speaks and understands Dutch poorly, which has caused things to go wrong for us several times. This older lady also always makes a fuss about the sambal you can get. When I order food for 6 people, 1 or 2 of those small cups of sambal are not enough.

Ate there today via social deal. How bad. We have been waiting for more than an hour for the food but we don't get anything. If you ask about it, they only say that they are working on it. And when you get the food, it is also inedible. Meat lies on top of the fish. Everything thrown together. JUST NASTY!! And sushi wasn't even there. Definitely not worth repeating.

Vandaag daar gegeten via social deal. Wat slecht zeg. We zitten al ruim een uur te wachten op het eten maar krijgen niks. Als je er naar vraagt wordt er alleen maar gezegd dar ze ermee bezig zijn. En als je het eten krijgt is het ook nog eens niet te eten. Vlees ligt bovenop de vis. Alles bij elkaar gegooid. GEWOON SMERIG!! Zeker niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Een van de meest slechte restaurants waar ik ooit ben geweest. Het personeel is onvriendelijk, het eten wordt niet bijgevuld en oogt niet vers. Het is allesbehalve een gezellige ambiance. Grote afrader dus als je ergens gezellig en lekker wilt eten. Met de slechte reviews wordt niets gedaan, want het is al jaren hetzelfde.

The food was fine! Staff very friendly, all fine, the containers could be refilled a little faster, and the desserts were a bit meager..., only the building itself, especially outside, is dreary, a pile of old/broken chairs are there, the building may could use a lick of paint, and the parking lot is full of potholes and holes...

Tried via Social Deal but the food wasn't that good. The starters and desserts seemed to have been sitting unrefrigerated for hours. The offer was very meager. The choice of Chinese food corresponds to a standard monthly takeaway menu. The teppanyaki tastes good and was also well prepared. Sushi? Not seen anywhere. Not again for us.

Sorry, but no second time for us. Tried via Social Deal, quite close. But service was friendly but did not respond once to our multiple signals. Ordered a tepayaki plate after 45 minutes but walked to the grill to see if we would get something at the table (as instructed).. Starters were not replenished, later guests may be unlucky or if, like me, you like more of the starters than the main course. Tap beer was poorly served, but you can serve yourself the wine tap. Atmosphere inside and outside not pleasant.

Strange restaurant, very little choice (around 12 containers of *food*) The fried food had a bit of a plastic taste to it and it was really tough, it had been in those containers for far too long, and there was NOTHING being refilled, we wanted to eat dessert at the end, there were a few bacon biscuits and that was it, a lot of stomach problems. definitely not recommended!!!

I was in this restaurant for the first time today with my husband and what can I say about it. We have never eaten such a bad buffet. Far too little or hardly any selection...so to call it a buffet is really a cheek!! For 2 people 55€ for nothing! Once and never again!!

A really huge disappointment!!! Upon arrival it already looked dead and entry was simply ignored and no one helped you because they were only busy with the takeaway. When we walked away because we actually wanted to cancel (via spontane.nl/social deal) she came after us, but unfortunately turned around to eat. Received receipt, table number 33 please, figure it out! The food really isn't tasty, but it isn't anything, I've left almost everything, it seems days old and the atmosphere? No atmosphere at all, no music or anything. A real waste of my money, I wish I had canceled it, so I don't recommend anyone to buy this via spontaneous/social deal!

What a bad restaurant. Food was really not tasty either. No background music, no atmosphere, nothing. For a few extra euros you would be better off visiting Mingle in Doetinchem.

Had dinner tonight at Ming Palace via social deal. There is quite a bit to say about the building and the interior but we ultimately came to eat. We thought the buffet was fine, considering the price/quality ratio. Of course you can eat better, more elaborately or whatever. But for €27.50 pp with drinks it was good. The concept of scanning the barcode, the chef makes it and it is served is in principle okay, but tonight it didn't quite work as it should. Heard some complaints around me. But again, it was fine for us. The food tasted good, was nice and hot and there was plenty of choice. We will come back again!

Food was delicious, service was also great, maybe it was because it was Tuesday, but I missed some background music and because it was already quiet (Tuesday) this made things a bit dull for me.

Experienced a buffet arrangement, but not worth repeating. The buffet was not extensive, but if the dishes had been of good quality it would of course have been less bad. Unfortunately, our experience was different. Bami and nasi were cold and the bami contained pieces that were undercooked. The cow loe yuk was bone dry. The teppanyaki fish dishes were excellent and delivered quickly. But unfortunately the teppanyaki chicken satay was undercooked (glassy meat). The dessert buffet was limited but fine. Despite the friendly service, the food was very mediocre and we would not repeat it.

Do you want to be able to dine quietly with excellent food, for a nice price? Then I can recommend Ming Palace. Not all the food served is freshly prepared that day, I taste some vegetables that are not freshly cut that day, but overall it is good. The sushi was also less available tonight than the photos suggest, but what was there was tasty and well presented. The cold dishes were sufficiently stocked, not all of them had the same taste, but something for everyone. The teppanyaki is fine, although it depends on the chef how it comes out. One lap was downright great, one lap more towards mediocrity. The desserts are also sufficient and delicious. All in all, great fun.

Been coming to Ming Palace for years, delicious food in a good atmosphere. Costs are not too bad. If you come here too...we can have a nice meal together. Also nice to have a conversation with the owner... Super nice

Simply the very best Chinese for miles around. And always nice, just for a chat. I always get take-out, but I can't say much about the restaurant part.

I really have no idea why some Google reviews are negative, this is really a top tent, and you certainly get your money's worth. Lots of food choice, even steak etc. can be ordered at the table, really very good! Maybe the weekend is busier and you have to wait longer, I have no idea, we went during the week and it was very quiet, great!

Never had such a bad meal anywhere. We ordered meat and fish and waited more than 45 minutes. When things ran out it took more than 30 minutes for them to be refilled and when you asked, you got a nonchalant answer. Many things also have no taste. The ice cream was already quite gone and the whipped cream machine was broken. Normally I don't like writing a review, but it was super bad and eating with 11 people was way too expensive for the food served there. Really sad, no one recommends it.

It really wasn't good, the food wasn't good and we had to wait a very long time.. Really advise everyone to eat somewhere else, this was really bad and poor quality
