I have been to this cozy restaurant a few times. Good food, pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended if you want to eat out in Zoetermeer.

We had a fantastic evening! We had the ‘Deluxe Menu’; there was already plenty of choice on the regular menu, but even more. The food was very tasty. Very friendly, cheerful, and helpful staff, and fast service—highly recommended!

She placed the food neatly on the table but didn't explain what it was. When we asked for an explanation, she looked at us and then turned away without saying anything. Also, when our daughter accidentally spilled her drink and we asked her for a napkin, she ignored us and turned her back to us. I then went to get an extra napkin myself to dry the table. It came across as very rude. We are really not used to that from this branch.

Today was my birthday, and to my great surprise, I got to eat for free! When the manager told me this, I could hardly believe it. I truly felt like the restaurant's guest of honor today. Thank you for this wonderful birthday!

We had family dinner here tonight, everyone enjoyed the meal. I especially loved the various meat and shrimp dishes. I also like the ordering system where can choose whether to add a certain sauce to the sushi and whether to add ice or lemon to our drinks.

The food was mediocre at best. I am now noticing the good reviews are from a while ago. What we experienced does not reflect a 4Star rated restaurant . Slow service, no soap in the toilets and when asked they acted Asif I was bothering them. abysmal, the servers do not really look at you.1 person said something to us. The rest drops the food on the table and leave..the restaurant has a terrible scent right outside it. I could go on but I will leave it at that. We do restaurant reviews weekly for a platform of over 80K subscriptions and this is top 3 worst restaurants we visited this year 2026.the reviews on Google do not reflect this restaurant.

We come to your restaurant almost every month (loyal customers of Mr Xi), our regular table. Always delicious and satisfied. We try out a lot. Really enjoyed it! We ate there yesterday, better than before and fast! The two waiters are super nice and helpful. If we have a comment, they are there for us, absolutely great. Good to exchange opinions. That is pricey, but it is good for the quality of the food. Top spot for us!! Mr Xi remains our favorite restaurant!

We came here for lunch for the first time. The food was tasty and freshly made. Service was quick at first, but then it gradually slowed down, despite it being quiet. You have two hours, but it was emphasized half an hour beforehand that we couldn't order any more rounds, only desserts. I felt sort of chased away, which I thought was a shame. Today was our daughter's birthday, so we wanted to have a nice family dinner out. We called ahead to ask if the birthday girl could eat for free. We clearly indicated that we had made a reservation via Social Deal. We were told that this was no problem and that our daughter could eat for free. We just had to bring her ID card. Once inside, we had to mention ourselves that our table had not yet been activated. At the table, we mentioned again that it was our daughter's birthday. The employee said: "I will see if I can do something for you." We didn't expect a gift or treat at all, but ultimately, he didn't bring it up again. When paying the bill, it turned out that we had to pay for our daughter after all, because the birthday promotion apparently couldn't be combined with Social Deal. That was annoying in itself, but we found the communication particularly disappointing. If it had been clearly stated beforehand that the promotion was not valid in combination with Social Deal, we would have understood, of course. The food itself was fine; we have no complaints about that. However, the service and communication did raise some questions for us. Especially since it was our daughter's birthday and something else had been promised by phone beforehand. A little extra attention or a simple treat could have made a big difference. Spent a nice evening at Mr. Xi. All-you-can-eat Asian. A bit more expensive than the average AYCE restaurants. However, you get value for your money. Although one of those ladies made a point when paying, and I had to think about which PIN code to use. She said that several elderly people had that problem. Not really helpful. 🤣 Now June 7, 2026. Menu changed. All-you-can-eat: the rules have changed now. The choice is between the standard menu or the deluxe menu. Tasty items from the old menu have disappeared. Such as, for example, the pork belly, better known as babi pangang. The sushi menu is in order. I have to admit that honestly. The rest of the menu is a shadow of what it once was. A pity. Ordered 2 beers on tap tonight. Both times, when it was finally served to my table, the beer was flat. That can happen occasionally in other hospitality venues as well. However, ordering two beers in two hours, and both were flat. That is strange. I suspect that in 55 years in the hospitality industry, I have indicated that my beer was flat about 10 times. And to have it happen twice in one evening is remarkable. The dessert menu has been remarkably shortened. It is strange for an Asian all-you-can-eat place that the French dessert, crème brûlée, is at the top of the dessert list. The "all-you-can-eat" concept is also being compromised within two hours. I went there together with my boyfriend and after this we both got sick with sort of gastrointestinal infection. GP said it looks like food poisoning. So it seems they need to significantly improve hygiene on the kitchen! I do not have complains about service and food was tasty BUT food poisoning!!! That’s serious! And definitely that is not what you expect from restaurant where bill for two people can easily reach 100 euro.

For that one time a month that we go out for dinner, I choose Mr. Xi time and again. I find that they have an incredible amount of choice, and as a pescatarian, that is really nice. My favorite are the cheese spring rolls combined with the delicious sauce served with them. The staff is incredibly friendly, and food and drinks are always served quite quickly.

Tonight, everything that could go wrong went wrong. A broken system, issues with the receipts, and too little staff for an overcrowded restaurant. The wait was (for the first time ever since I was there) way too long. 1 hour for the second course. The young people (most of them not even 20) were subjected to quite a few complaints and dissatisfaction, and certainly not always in a respectful manner. Deep respect for how they handled it. Calmness, explaining, accommodating, informing. Where people work and systems run, things can go wrong. The young waitress we had, Lindsey, worked incredibly hard. She kept smiling. She walked back and forth all evening with full trays weighing almost half her weight. The young man trying to organize and manage the cash register was more than friendly and understanding. Deep respect. We had a delicious meal and a fantastic evening. Hats off to the staff.

We didn't place our first order until around 7:30 PM this evening, but because 'the system' had already registered us at 7:15 PM, we could kiss goodbye to the order we placed around 9:20 PM. Not exactly hospitable when you come to eat mediocre sushi with 9 people for nearly 500 euros. Even after explaining this politely and patiently several times, the waitress stood her ground and acted like she was crazy. A glance into the kitchen revealed the real reason: they were already cleaning up and only had the ready-made desserts from Sligro left for us.

I think the prices have become really expensive, especially for the deluxe menu.. Many new dishes and also some old ones. The taste hasn't changed at all. Super tasty! I just don't quite understand the carpaccio combination with garlic sauce and Parmesan cheese.. I really didn't like that.. but that's a matter of personal preference. For the last 1.5 hours, we had to wait a really long time for certain dishes.. I ordered some for a second time and still had to ask for them because they didn't arrive. I'm not used to that from Mr xi! It used to be super fast. It remains one of my favorite sushi places.

We had a truly delicious meal. There is more choice on the deluxe menu. It is a bit more expensive, admittedly, but worth it. However, for a lot of people, dining out is also a form of relaxation. We were annoyed for almost the entire evening by the restlessness and whining of a small child. You really shouldn't allow children who still need to sit in a high chair in the evening.

Mr Xi is a fine restaurant, but since the new menu, they have lost ground in terms of taste, quality, and choices. I think that's a shame. They now also have a deluxe menu, just like Tatsu Leidschendam. However, what you get for that extra is significantly less here than at Tatsu. A fine restaurant, but Shabu Shabu and Yuniku are better at the moment. Definitely recommended for a change.

Our criticism (and that of others) is also being taken seriously, and the menu is being adjusted again to include the return of some of our favorites. That deserves 5 stars too! I go here really often, but lately I find the service and waitstaff to be really terrible. If you come with a large group and place an order, it either doesn't arrive or it arrives somewhere in your third round, which always causes confusion. So if you order items for your last round, you end up getting things from your second round. Sometimes I find the sushi super tasty, and sometimes it seems like it has just been sitting in the kitchen for a very long time. It's a bit of a shame because I've always been satisfied and always gone back, but now I really have my doubts.

Food isn't all you can eat. Some dishes are charged an extra euro for specials, even at dinner. The service could be better; it's a bit chaotic, and a lot of things fall on the floor. The food is delicious, but why the extra euro? Just make the menu 1 euro more expensive. There's room for improvement here and there.

We'd made a reservation two months before Valentine's Day, but now they're telling us four days in advance that they don't have any availability. Now we can't eat anywhere for Valentine's Day. It's so frustrating. I'd choose a different sushi restaurant!

Unfortunately, there are many downsides. First, there's a lot of standard sushi that's included in the price at many other restaurants, but here you pay an extra €1 for every two pieces. This can really add up if there are four of you and you eat three or more times. Second, the tables are very close together, making it chaotic on busy nights. Third, the food is delivered very slowly, in stages, making it impossible to order more, and the two hours fly by. Fourth, the sushi is shown as four pieces in the photos, but you only get two. It's not a big deal to add the price above, as with many other sushi restaurants, to the price per two or four pieces. For the price you pay per person, excluding drinks, I think this is simply poor. It's a shame, as I'm not very critical, but this is simply unavoidable.

There's always a great atmosphere, a beautiful decor, and nice background music (a calm version of Zero's R&B apparently pairs really well with sushi). The food is delicious, and the service is very friendly. Everything is really good. My only tip would be to have a few more vegetarian sushi rolls. But otherwise, everything is great.
