Native Haarlem - Koffie in Oude Stad

Been going here for years. However have not been for a while. Today i entered and the staff was so rude. We just left. After this attitude we will not be going back and we certainly do not reccomend anybody go there with staff like today! (Friday 25 July)

You get a choice of roast to match your coffee mood. Excellent work. If you appreciate good coffee this is the place.

The coffee was very disappointing and the service was not nice.

Visiting from Canada - my latte here has been my favourite from my trip so far! Quiet side street in Haarlem, cozy shop and kind staff. Highly recommend!

I was very exited to go to Native for the first time. I ordered my flat white with oat milk and it came (as you see on the picture) in a dirty freaking cup. The coffee on the side wasn't even my coffee, it was already dried up?! Just as I thought it couldn't get worse I also ordered the lemon meringue pie, which the server flipped sideways causing all the lemon-meringue filling to fall off the crust. It was a big mess...

Cozy place where you can stop by for a cup of delicious coffee. Don’t forget to take a dessert! The staff is super friendly and always helps to make a proper choice.

Our journey took us here today in search of food and a good roastery. As usual, I would like to report in detail about what I experienced: First impression: This cute little restaurant is inconspicuously located a little away from the main shopping street. As is often the case, you have to know what you are looking for so as not to miss it. Ambience: The visitor is presented with a wonderful picture of a rustic wall, wood look and green plants. Even the toilet is inserted here almost inconspicuously and cannot be seen at first glance. There is space here for single visitors, as well as for couples and groups! Cozy but very comfortable. Service: You can choose whatever your heart desires at the counter. This is then lovingly prepared and brought to the table. Food: A great selection from delicious soup to super tasty granola to a wide variety of cakes delights the heart and the palate. Everything is homemade and prepared with attention to detail. Coffee: The be-all and end-all of my travels and therefore my main focus. We were also very impressed by the different coffee drinks. Tastes really good. There's still a small leap missing when it comes to the flavor experience compared to other really good roasters, but the coffee is definitely impressive. Really great! Conclusion: The mix of ambience, really great food and good coffee make this restaurant a wonderful place to stop. We would be happy to come back at any time and can only recommend it to others. Really welcoming nice atmosphere and the best coffee n Haarlem.

A nice coffee spot with a vibrant energy. Not a place I would sit and read a book but instead chat with a friend. The chai latte I had was the best out of three places tried in three days. However, it was also the smallest cup but hey, quality over quantity.

Coffee was delicious but very expensive for a tiny amount. Very busy, noisy and chaotic

Dog friendly, super cozy, has quite high quality coffee, I just love it here for years.

Review update: still lovely Lovely place. After just a few visits the staff remembered my name for my order. Atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. There are two larger worktables for those who bring their laptop, and plenty of relaxed seating for those who want to chat or read.

Cozy coffee shop in a quiet neighborhood just outside the center. Both tables outside and inside. Delicious cappuccino. We were so full from the food before that we didn't have any pastries here. But it all looks worth a try. Next time.

Delicious cappuccino! Also very tasty carrot cake (possibly the best we've had so far). Cute terrace in an even cuter street. Also very friendly service. & plus points for the tap with water, so you can refill your own glass of water when necessary. Enjoyed!

The service gave a attitude that wasn’t very pleasant, the coffee is disgusting and it’s very overpriced, it used to be excellent but now it’s very bad don’t recommend.

Everything here is delicious, from the empanadas, to the cappuccino and Chai Latte. The Chai latte is my favourite thing to have here! I also purchase my coffee beans from Native. Can’t go wrong with this place!

Nice location for a nice coffee

Only drank coffee. This really is coffee of an ambitious level. The taste takes some getting used to if you are used to more mainstream coffees. It is often a bit more acidic and gives a very rich taste experience. No service at the tables but hey, that's a choice. What a beautiful side street, very idyllic.

Espresso was so sour! I don't know what happened (under roasted, over extracted, too finely ground...) but I've not experienced such an assault on my taste buds in as long as I can remember (esp not from coffee of all things!) Carrot cake was quite pleasant and the other little square thing (vegan I think) was also nice... which is good but it complicates my rating - since I was there primarily for coffee. I'll revisit and see if it was a one-off. 🤞🏻

This place is famous in Haarlem. Yes, they serve great coffee, but its the special atmosphere that makes Native really unique. The service is with grace, ease and love. An unique experience.

Sehr nettes Café ☕️ mit leckerem Kuchen und gutem Espresso (sehr säuerliche Arabica Bohnen, aber gut). Man sitzt mit Blick auf eine kleine, durchaus lebhafte Straße ohne Autos).

Everything was tasty, but the best are the soup and empanada.

Bij Native zit je altijd lekker. Binnen is het knus en vrolijk dankzij de vriendelijke dames achter de toonbank die duidelijk plezier hebben in hun werk. Genoeg plekjes om te werken, met baby te zitten of om een krantje te lezen (of een combinatie hiervan ;) ) Buiten zit je tegenover de mooiste bloemenzaak van Haarlem in een rustige beklinkerde straat. Altijd druk, maar nooit lang wachten. Heerlijke koffie en goeie taart. Fijne combinatie van vegan aanbod en ‘gewone’ baksels. De tosti’s vind ik wat overpriced en de granola wat taai, maar dat zijn dan ook de enige punten van feedback. Een favoriet, liefdevol plekje in Haarlem!

I drove to this place on Saturday morning from Rotterdam. Had home made gorgeous lemon cake, got into atmosphere of young couples coming in for their regular weekend routine and afterwards strolled into Saturday market, visites church with organ music, went free to an archeological museum. Coming back home to Rotterdam l had a very pleasant experience of feeling true Dutch! Next trip would be a walk along water chanels. Thank you, Haarlem and Native Haarlem cafe for making my day! A hidden gem in Haarlem. Super lekkere koffie gedronken. Zeker de moeite waard om daar koffie te drinken. In een rustige zijstraat van het drukke centrum genieten van koffie. Zelfs zo lekker om nog een bakkie te bestellen. Fijne service. Bestellen aan de bar bij het vriendelijk personeel. En lekker zitten aan het naast gelegen terras. Koffie werd snel geserveerd. Genieten!

Great experience at Native! I was there in June 2022 with two other friends and they were so attentive to our order. The coffee was INCREDIBLE! One small cup is all you'll need to feel ready to take on a day of exploring Haarlam. The staff also gave us a nice heads up when a seat outside opened up. Also know if you're going to do work there are tables at the back specifically dedicated to laptops.
