Beautiful location. I had a wedding reception, dinner, and overnight stay here. The meal was tasty, the location atmospheric (many large wooden beams, beautiful ballroom, etc.), and the service good.

€5 for a decaf cappuccino with oat milk. Let me start by saying: I understand that we are located in the countryside here, between the villages. Decaf is perhaps already less in demand here, and oat milk even more so. So I understand perfectly well why a surcharge is charged for it. Oat milk was not on the menu, so I asked myself if this was possible. It was. However, what wasn't mentioned was that an extra €0.90 was charged for it. Cappuccino €3.50 + decaf €0.60 + oat milk €0.90 = €5.00. When I asked afterwards why the oat milk cost an extra €0.90, the manager's explanation was that otherwise they would have to “throw the whole carton away”. I can even understand the reasoning behind the surcharge. If you sell little oat milk, waste can occur. But then just mention when ordering that a splash of oat milk costs an extra €0.90, or don't offer it at all. Then I can decide for myself whether I am willing to pay that much. So it is not about those 90 cents for me. It is about clarity and the way a normal question was responded to afterwards. Beautiful location, but in terms of hospitality, I found this disappointing.

On August 22nd, we hosted a birthday party at the Herb Hut for 40 family members and friends. The entire evening was perfectly organized, and it was a top-notch location in terms of atmosphere! All praise to Jolanda, who regularly came by to check if everything was sufficient. She even brought a comfortable chair with armrests for an elderly lady. Definitely worth repeating; we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Thank you, Jolanda!

Fantastic location!!! Of course, that was also due to the fantastic "Christmas" wedding couple!!! The appetizers were very tasty and freshly prepared, and the service was good!! The ambiance was very atmospheric!! In short, a location to remember!!! The above was a few years ago! Now we come there regularly to sit under the nut tree! The tasting is highly recommended!!

We had a delicious meal. Nice rustic atmosphere and polite, attentive service. You can dine there with groups, but it is also lovely for just the two of you. The location is quiet in the Peel. Good menu and good prices. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back.

We had a party at this location. A section of the terrace was cordoned off where we could sit. A very beautiful and quiet location. Perfect for a quick stop while cycling. We had excellent food in the form of a buffet. The service (young girl) was sometimes a bit slow, but otherwise everything was top-notch.

A cozy restaurant with a basic menu, but don't let that mislead you. The food is well-presented, very tasty, and not expensive. The service is also welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back again! Update: We visited here regularly in 2025 and every time was great. We visited again in May 2026 and unfortunately, many dishes have disappeared from the menu. Natuurpoort De Peel is still nice for a drink or a cup of coffee, but for a cozy dinner, you are now better off driving a bit further to Griendtsveen or Deurne. That is why the rating is lower now.

Worst restaurant I have ever eaten at, and don't even get me started on the staff. What arrogant people they are, unbelievable. Disgusting.

We tried lichting here and really liked it, so we reserved a BBQ packet the next day. Since our reservation got confirmed in the mail we went to pick it up the BBQ packet. But when we arrived the server didn't find our reservation. Zero stars for the site, but nice food if you get lunch at location.

We did the Herb House BBQ package in the evening with 12 people, followed by a guided walk in the afternoon. It was well organized, a cozy little house and the BBQ outside. Nice atmosphere and well taken care of, friendly staff, beautiful location!

It's wonderful to grab a bite to eat and drink after a walk, or just pop in for a good lunch. Its location near a beautiful piece of new and "old" nature makes it extra special. Enjoy the charming Brabant atmosphere on the lovely terrace in good weather, and indoors in bad weather.

Coffee with a delicious pie. Personally, I prefer to eat pie off a plate. I don't like eating it off a wooden board.

What a beautiful location! Our son and daughter-in-law got married there last Friday, September 12th. Dinner and the wedding reception followed. The food was delicious, and the wedding reception, including drinks and appetizers, was well-catered for. Thank you for the excellent service.

We've stopped here for lunch several times during our motorcycle trips, and it's always excellent. The service is friendly and efficient, the menu offers a wide selection, and the food is simply fantastic. Another bonus: there's always ample parking, ideal if you're traveling by motorcycle or car. A great place for a friendly get-together, for example with colleagues, like we did yesterday. There are plenty of activities available; we went solexing in the beautiful surroundings. The fully catered barbecue was above average!

Fab little gem in the Peel. Went for family reunion with some seniors for which the place tailors well. Menu is limited but what's on is done well. I ate pulled pork. Others had the steak or salmon. If you don't like fries, it's a a bit hard to find a replacement for the carb part

After a lovely walk, I had lunch here. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. This was perhaps one of the tastiest toasted sandwiches I've ever had (like a Peel toasted sandwich). The service was also very friendly!

Stunning location with paths for walking and lots of space for kids to play. Spent half my Sunday here watching cyclist go by. Apple tart was also fresh and incredible.

Beautiful place to settle down after a nice walk. We had a party but it was poorly organised. At first the ladies didn't know where we would sit. We had already ordered cappucino because we were early, but that took so long that the rest had also arrived. There was another party in the large venue and it was nicely announced on a sign. In the room where we were sitting, nothing had been prepared at all. Just a few candles lit. We could have sat 20 in 1 room, but that was not prepared. Two tables were hastily added that did not fit in at all. Not covered at all or anything. It also took a long time for the starter to arrive. The starter was very good luckily. The drinks were neatly served and the staff was very friendly. Her main course was a bit disappointing. Pork tenderloin and salmon quite dry. Dessert fine. It was a nice party, but that was certainly not due to the nature gate.

A nice, quiet place to spend a summer afternoon, but it's cool inside in the winter. I didn't really like the food. I tried tomato cream. It would be tomato paste diluted with water. But you can go there for a drink or coffee because of the silence and peaceful surroundings.

Wonderful for lunch on the terrace after walking a barefoot path a little further away. The food was delicious, we were there on a quiet day so it was wonderfully relaxed. The nachos with a top were really delicious as well as the goat cheese salad. It is in a nice location in the Peel, which is a beautiful nature reserve where the spoonbills can be seen from the road. I would go here again if I am in this area.

Definitely worth it. Went again today. What a nice place to have a bite to eat. In the middle of nature and a nice ambiance. Staff extremely friendly. Food not haute cuisine but just good. Also suitable for vegetarian choices. And with a bit of luck you will be joined by all kinds of birds such as sparrows and finches that contribute to the pleasant atmosphere there.

Great rustic restaurant in the middle of the De Peel nature park. Due to the weather we didn't spend time in the lovely garden area but instead ate inside the restaurant. In addition to good food at reasonable prices, the attentive and friendly staff was particularly impressive. And if you're ever here, you definitely shouldn't miss a hike through the nature park. The circular trails start directly in front of the restaurant through the beautiful moorland landscape.

Birthday celebrated in family circle in "the living room". All wishes discussed in advance. Cozy space for ourselves, nice staff, good service and delicious food in buffet form. The grandchildren had space to play inside and outside. Dietary requirements were carefully taken into account. Granddaughter with celiac disease had no complaints at all afterwards, which in itself is worth a compliment. We all enjoyed it, so highly recommended!
