This authentic restaurant has a relaxed vibe and has an intimate warm atmosphere. We felt positively spoiled and recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to try original cuisine from Nigeria.

Food is great, and the owner is very welcoming amd explained the menu to us. We get fried fish and goat peppersoup. Very good quality, but pepper soup is quite spicy for people who're not used to the taste.

Very friendly staff. Wait time was approximately 30-45mins. The food wasn’t up to par in my opinion. We ordered suya, rice and ayamase, jollof rice with fried fish and Fanta- total bill 89euros. The jollof rice was not well flavoured. Fish smelt like it wasn’t fresh. Ayamase tasted raw with poor selection of meat choices. Suya didn’t taste fresh. Overall rating 2/10.

You won't find this kind of fish food anywhere...

We ordered 1x Jollof rice with plantain from the menu (which included a soup or stew). We didn’t get the soup with the meal so asked it later for take away. To my surprise I had to pay €40 for 1x Jollof and 1x soup. I only realised later this happened so I called the restaurant but she explained that this is the normal price. I think it’s way overpriced for what you get. Food was good but not made of gold.

I am not of African descent... I had a roti shop (✊🏾💚 Hopi nr.25 💚) next to this company for 20 years, but I didn't like the smell. But since that place has been around for at least 20 years and the African people I know there really like it, I give it 5 stars. ✊🏾

It was sooo good. I got bitter leaf soup with assorted, and pounded yam. It took quite a while to get ready, but that’s okay because when it came it was super fresh and wonderful. It felt like home. I got beef suya for takeout and it was worth it. Quantity and taste was top notch. I can’t wait to go back to Amsterdam just to visit them again.

Set your mind on the food and not the ambience. Reservations highly recommended on weekends. It is a multi cultural environment. Great to see various nationalities enjoying African cuisine.

Food was appalling. I ordered bitter leaf soup. There was barely any leaf in it. It was very watery like pepper soup. I don't think they know what bitter leaf soup should actually look like. My friend ate vegetables soup that was abit ok. When I posted the picture of the bitter leaf soup on my social media people thought it was pepper soup. Great place but they need to learn to cook especially some certain soups that isn't their culture. And it was very very expensive. €25 for a plate of pounded yam and soup. That's the first time I've seen food that pricey especially at a local corner restaurant. For 2 dishes and waters we paid just over €60 I was shocked

It was a nice experience dining here. We really enjoyed our meals - jollof rice and plantain and pounded yam with egusi. Enough proteins and the portion was very okay. We were on holiday in Amsterdam so we felt very happy to eat good Naija food. Absolutely recommend 💯%

Se ve muy deteriorado... el servicio es terrible... si lo buscas en internet ofrecen un montón de platos y carnes pero cuando llegas es una historia diferente... bastante cara... teníamos la opción de pescado o pollo y eso fue todo. Fuimos allí porque había algunos platos anunciados en Internet que mi marido realmente quería probar, pero en realidad tenían aproximadamente la mitad si eso era lo que anunciaban. No aconsejaría ir allí. Pérdida de tiempo y dinero.

The Okra soup didn’t taste fresh, it appeared and tasted days old .

A unique experience I had at this beautiful gem of an African Nigerian dining experience ..Once you arrived at the restaurant, you are greeted and well looked after by the attendant. The food was great and tasted fresh , had a great time engaging with the owner , who was warm and welcoming.

If you like Nigerian (yoruba) food this is a good place to eat or order. I eat here regularly when I am back in the Netherlands.

Definitely a great recommendation! This was a first timer. Cozy place with seating for around 20 people. Food is ordered at the counter, but the staff will serve your food. Ordered a nostalgic tasting of Fanta (the orange one), and a variety of dishes including the pounded yam with egusi, and jollof rice. For me the meat dishes were outstanding. The jollof rice with chicken stew, and the goat pepper soup are two dishes I will probably go back for. The chicken stew reminded me of butter chicken/chicken tikka masala. The goat pepper soup is just wow for people who love spice (and some game). The pounded yam was the first time, it has a plain natural taste, so I would recommend combining it with a stew. The tomato meat stews I definitely recommend. You can eat most dishes with cutlery, but it's common practice to eat with your hands (you can wash your hands at the front of the restaurant).

It's not the best looking restaurant, but the staff and food is on another level.

Very delicious restaurant, you need to ring the doorbell when you enter the door, don't try to go around the back. Great for Asian palates. We ordered two rice sets, their rice is seasoned, the red sauce on top of the fish is spicy and tomato flavored, fried crispy, most of the fish bones are edible, very delicious. But the fish I think it may not be suitable for people who mind fish bones. If you mind, you can order chicken beef or mutton meals. Their food portions are good, one set meal is enough to fill you up.

Loved the egusi and pounded yam. The food is good but the place is small and no window to look outside. It is close to Bullewijk metro.

Ondanks de nonchalante sfeer en service in dit tentje blijf ik terugkomen voor de authentieke Nigeriaanse pepper soup. Deze heldere soep is rijkelijk gevuld met geitenvlees, en heeft een stevige pittige smaak. Voor de liefhebbers is een side met plantain zeker aan te raden.

Lovely food! Fresh deep fried tilapia, jollof rice, plantain, and okra. It is on the more expensive end; all dishes listed + 2 soft drinks = €40. Don't expect much of a vibe as it's in a dingy room. But the food more than makes up for it!

An atmosphere and the service need a little bit of improvement, but when food goes in your mouth, you don't have to give a flying F about the rest of the things because it's that good and yummy. Like you go to your grandma's house and she feed you like for a week.

Beetje gekke ervaring. Sfeer was niet geweldig. Zag diverse gasten ook ruzie maken met de eigenaars, weet niet waarom overigens, maar dat maakte de sfeer niet beter. Eten was ok, maar heb zeker beter West Afrikaans eten op.

Want to try something new? The you definitely have to try the West African restaurant. They have authentic recipes mostly from Nigeria and Ghana. You hshould not miss the fried plantain. And as for the jollof I will leave it for you to judge whether it's Ghanaian jollof 🇬🇭 or Nigerian jollof 🇳🇬. You also live football matches.

Thank you for the great meal and hospitality. My friend was visiting Amsterdam and he wanted some food from home, so I took him to the place I used to live across the street from. The fried tilapia was delicious.

Small cozy place with friendly staff (especially the waiter from Burkina Faso!) where everyone speaks to each other. Great place if you want to eat Western African food made by locals for locals.
