Oliebollenkraam Gouki in Wijk 50 Hoogeveen

This year, I ordered oliebollen (Dutch doughnuts) from the gym. I picked them up the day before New Year's Eve, and they were dry and tasteless. On New Year's Eve, they looked like bouncy balls... in other words, inedible. I also made some at home, and at least those were eaten; the others were just decorations on the table.

We got some oliebollen in Zuidlaren. They were a bit tough, but they tasted good. Unfortunately, we found the man who helped us unfriendly. He couldn't even say hello. I'd rather drive to an oliebollen stand in Groningen where the oliebollen are cheaper, where you sometimes get one free oliebol, and where you don't have to pay for the powdered sugar that comes in a small bag.

We just picked up oliebollen (Dutch doughnuts) and ananasbollen (pineapple balls). They're both delicious! Not too greasy, but not too dry either. Delicious.

Unfortunately, the oliebollen were also very tough this year, freshly picked up. It was the same last year. We never had any oliebollen in previous years. We thought we'd try again. But alas, we won't be getting any more oliebollen this year.

We were at the fair in Hengelo, our grandson had chosen a chocolate ball, when we asked for an extra napkin, we were told one napkin per customer, while we had also ordered oliebollen ourselves and had not received any napkins, that will be the profit, which a shitty company will never do again.

Picked them up on December 31st; they were already cold, and we're reheating them. They're simply inedible, so dry and flavorless, and you pay 12 euros for them. The day before yesterday, I got some from Lidil; they were delicious, and that was 10 for 3 euros. So, next year it'll be Lidil.

The stall was barely open. When someone asked for an oliebol, the man was on the phone and barely responded to the customer. No advertising...

Oliebollen hot from the pan at the stall are quite good, but if you try to reheat them at home the next day, they taste like a sponge from the deep fryer. I've tried Gouki once, but that's it. We'll be back to our regular bakery next year for delicious oliebollen.

We asked for a currant bun and were given an oliebol. When we politely pointed this out to the lady, we received a very unfriendly response. It was her fault, not ours. A tasty currant bun with a nasty aftertaste.
