The best Greek food we've ever had! The atmosphere was so cozy and relaxed, and the staff were super friendly and helpful, especially recommending and explaining the dishes. We had the 2-person plate (Kopsidia) and loved everything on it, really just amazing flavors (and generous portion sizes!) Highly recommend, we'll be coming back soon to try more 😄

The pita bread is very tasty. Also, the chicken is deliciously seasoned and juicy.

Excellent service but a bit slow in the kitchen because the main chef was on vacation in Greece. For that reason as well, there was a shorter - summer - menu. Food was good.

Melitzana with tatziki. Could be better. The melitzana is one of the few vegetarian dishes. The sun-dried tomatoes were unfortunately missing from the filling. Feta and Gruyère alone weren't enough to absorb the eggplant flavor. It was just greasy. The tatziki wasn't fresh enough to offer a nice counterbalance to the eggplant's greasiness. The yogurt had more of a cream cheese texture, too little cucumber, and no olive oil. The service was friendly, but in English. Really? The Greek music in the background was nice. The prices are low by today's standards. The neighbors agreed.

Dinner was delicious, the only blemish on the evening was the clerk who came running after us and accused us of walking away without paying. Apart from that, we had a delicious dinner.

This place embodies what a true restaurant should be, a home away from home. Always greeted with love and kindness by the food, but more importantly by the staff. Especially Myrto being so kind and attentive. And of course the owner Chryssa, very kind! Good price, great quality, nice dish sizes. Traditionally greek!! Would come every week!

If you want a delicious lunch in Groningen, go there. Everything is tasty, but the moussaka is the best I have ever tried

The Moussaka was good (though not hot), but all in all, the experience did not live up to my expectations. It's pretty expensive compared to other Greek places around, and the service left a lot to be desired tonight. However, it was just good enough to come back some day and give it another chance.

Delicious, original and traditional Greek meals, generous portions, low prices and a beautiful, cozy atmosphere curated by a great team led by some very nice owners. You can tell a lot of attention to detail and decor has been made, as well as efforts to maintain a very high quality of the ambience.

We walked in for lunch and found a few tables occupied. Another family arrived after us, and then another couple. After a good 45 minutes, we finally asked if they'd forgotten us, since both tables after us had already finished their dishes. After waiting an hour, we finally received our orders. Chicken skewers (nice and tender, a bit bland), potatoes (oven-baked, a bit hard on one side and sour), and pita wedges (delicious) with tzatziki. The plate was generous, but the amount of tzatziki was very meager, so we immediately ordered more. A small bowl costs €3.75! An absurd price for a spoonful. All in all, a bit disappointing; we won't be back.

Had a bite to eat yesterday, it was delicious and well-priced. We had a grilled meal for two, not a huge portion, but filling enough. It was a bit chilly in the restaurant, though, as the cold from outside seeped in.

Went there with my daughters and we all enjoyed the food, the service, and the atmosphere. A typical Greek vibe that felt authentic.

I've rarely been so disappointed with a restaurant. First, a table that was far too cramped, where you were sitting 10 cm from someone's neck, then moved to the front corner, but it was terribly cold there by the front door. The third table was okay. I ordered a farmer's sausage, which I hoped would be something special. It was more like a fancy frikandel accompanied by a sad bowl of reheated potato wedges. And that was it. I couldn't detect anything Greek about it, unless it's a Greek custom to brown the sausage on one side. The salad I ordered separately was the best part, but there's not much you can do about that. Looking at the menu, everything initially seems reasonably priced, but you have to order everything separately. A slice of eggplant with a bit of cheese on top for 12 euros is a rip-off, because it's so meager. In short, I'll never go back.

We were 6 people and we had a group menu with shared dishes. I read in some reviews that the food may have been a bit lacking. Well, that certainly wasn't the case with us. It was spacious and we couldn't finish it. It came very quickly and it wasn't very hot either. This made it seem as if everything was already ready at the back. One dish was tastier than the other. I liked the potatoes, but my husband did not like them. We sat close to the door and it was very cold outside. So every time the door opened I felt cold. That wasn't nice. In terms of price it was fine. Certainly not expensive! And very friendly service :-)

Went today for the 1st time but the food was very disappointing. Moussaka didn't have much flavor and wasn't very warm either. Food was also ready a little too quickly. We were barely seated. Not worth repeating for us

It was like if I travelled through space and time to Greece: very atmospheric and cozy space with looking-real olive tree feels like seating in some Greek garden; service is attentive and friendly; food super tasty, portions are quite generous; interesting local wine and beer options - try Retsina wine if you haven’t yet, very distinctive taste! Ideal restaurant if you are with more people and would like to share snacks with each other. We opted for a group menu for four people. We were served different types of dishes including mousaka, olives, kalamakia, etc. In addition, oven-fresh bread was served with various dips. Truly delicious! I would also like to mention that the service is super friendly. They came to us several times to ask if everything was okay. Very attentive. This is definitely a place I will come back to more often!

Delicious mezes for lunch. It was very quiet in the restaurant, but there is a good atmosphere, modern, friendly, atmospheric. We ate pita bread with 3 spreads, zucchini cookies and spinach and filo dough. Delicious food. Waiter was friendly, it took a while before someone came to our table. Smooth service after ordering. We ate our lunch in the Olijfboom cantina in the Oosterstraat. The De Olijfboom restaurant on Steentilstraat also serves delicious dinner dishes.

Mixed grill for two people. The baked potatoes had been reheated for so long that they were simply inedible. The sausage was so salty that we left it aside as did the fried potatoes. Service was friendly and atmosphere good, but the food was just really disappointing.

We always eat the pita patata here with tzatziki, onion, tomato, potato, feta. Or we take the pita chicken. Highly recommended: this home-baked pita with delicious filling. It can be supplemented with extra feta, potato or tzatziki. We keep coming back.

Delicious food and very friendly service. We have been coming for years (also at the location on Steentilstraat) and we always have a good time. The pitas are of course recommended for a quick lunch, in combination with Greek iced coffee or Greek mountain tea. But there are plenty of tasty things on the menu :)

For a party in the garden, we picked up a wonderfully varied menu from this great dining spot. Heating up at home went smoothly thanks to the perfect instructions. The menu offered an abundance of vegetable dishes, including mouth-watering combinations of spinach, eggplant, olives and cheese. The collection itself was a party, partly because of the incredibly nice people who helped us. Highly recommended for a festive and tasteful experience at home!

Atmosphere is really good, feels cozy vibe. Food 10/10 - had pita bifteki(2) kalamakia(2) was just awesome ! Deserts is new level of pleasure .

I would say that it's the best Greek restaurant in Groningen. My personal favorite dishes are grilled pita bread with tzatziki and tirosalata dips. I also love their baked lemon potatoes. My views could be biases as I am a vegetarian, but I believe their meat dishes would be as tasty as vegetarian ones. Highly recommend!!!

I have tried Souvlaki and Loukaniko, both really good but the Moussaka is something really special!

The table was still full when we arrived, the staff immediately apologized and gave us a drink on the house. 10 minutes later we were able to sit at the table. So very attentive from the staff! Then we had a delicious meal. What a great tent! I recommend going, we will go again soon! Wonderful experience

This was my first visit to their new restaurant and it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was inviting, service was great even though it was super busy. And the food was delicious as always.

Update 2024:reslly tasty pitas. Very friendly customer service. The food arrived to the table right on time. Really impressed TLDR: Amazing and original Greek food. The wiaitng time was a bit high 5 stars because of the overall quality. I was really A M A Z E D by the food. They do have original Greek food that tastes like back home. The mezedes were really tasty as well as the pitas. The customer service was also really good. The only thing that was disappointing was the waiting time for some dishes (2 hrs) and one dish (soutzoukakia). the people in the kitchen were really hardworking but we had to wait for almost 2hrs for some main dishes. I believe that is because of the heavy workload of cooking for the sitting customers as well as thuisbezorgd. And the person who ate the soutzoukakia dish was pretty sure that the dish was microwaved. Overall, I have to congratulate the owners and employees of the place for keeping such high standards especially for the food.

The food is good I personally loved the spanakopita! The portions are okey if you compare it to Greece. The staff are nice :). However, recently I had an unpleasant experience, there was a lot of staff around but nobody came up to us to help us so we sat at an empty table, after some time a girl came and asked if we had reserved and as we hadn't we were asked to leave because that table was reserved and they were full. Which is understandable however it would be nice if it was indicated on the table or we were helped when walking in, nor were we offered a suitable solution, it was a bit disappointing, thus I would suggest to reserve to avoid any unpleasantries!

Visit in December Went to Olijfboom for dinner with a friend on a Friday. When we came in it smelled good. The restaurant is not very large and the tables are quite close together. Furthermore, the restaurant looks nice. We decided to share some dishes and they were all delicious. The portions are not very large but fine. The menu offers many vegetarian options and also some vegan. When we were there the entire restaurant was full, if you go I would make a reservation.

The food was pretty good. Too bad the mixed grill portions were very small. A single small sausage, a chicken kalamaki and a little bit of gyros. Now i know why the place was deserted which didn't help the atmosphere. Can't really recommend it i'm afraid.

The food was amazing, the staff was realy nice. There were some people having drinks and playing inteuments so the vibe was realy good.

We called to place an order to pick up for 6 people. Was ready in half an hour! Absolutely delicious food, the lamb pita and souvlaki were real favorites.

Tijdens de wandeling hoorden we de mensen op de welbekende bouzouki spelen. Dit is voor mij een zeer bekende Griekse snaarinstrument (denk aan muziek uit film Zorba de Griek). Kom zelf oorspronkelijk uit Turkije en dit soort muziek klinkt inderdaad als goede muziek in mijn oren. Enfin, al kijkend naar de muzikanten werden wij op een zeer spontane wijze binnengehaald. Wij aan een heel groot vierkante tafel waar ook heel veel anderen zaten, bijna allen zingende. Prachtig, dat geluid van bouzouki, mooie Griekse gezang met heel veel “S” klanken in taal en vriendelijke aardige mensen. Direct werd ons drank, ouzo natuurlijk en mezethes geserveerd. Na een tijde hebben wij zelfs met de muzikanten het nummer Üsküdar samen gezongen, zij 1 couplet in het Grieks en wij 1 couplet in het Turks. We hebben zelfs geprobeerd op sirtaki, zebetica, rebetica op z’n Grieks te dansen. Zag er niet uit denk ik, but we tried al least. Ik ga er zeker binnenkort eten, hoop dat er dan ook live music is, prachtig!!!
